I go very often and I love this place! It’s great for a few drinks and also for brunch! They have great burgers too!

My first visit in many years. Absolutely magnificent Sunday roast, best ive had. Good portions, perfectly cooked. The service was exemplary, with a member of staff even going out to buy candles for my dads birthday! Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, better service than top london restaurants ive visited. Bar service also very good with friendly staff all round, it makes a big difference. Well done team, ill visit again and more often. Thank you.

Love this place...The waiting staff helpful and attentive (however the young lady didn't fully know the drinks menu) food arrived quickly and was very nice. The bill was very reasonable.

Great service shame about the cost. I expect to pay good money for good food . On my visit 30 pounds for a tiny steak and 14 chips was over priced . Shame as everything else was great

Excellent Friday lunch at the Spring, Amie, Luke, Issy, and Megan were great hosts extremely attentive polite engaging and made our last experience at the spring an enjoyable one, the food and customer service was superb -what an absolute pleasure it was to visit the Spring with friends who equally commented on great food and service. Looking forward to returning again.

Fantastic food and lovely service from Amie, Georgia and Paris. We stuffed ourselves with the sharing doughnuts, crab on sourdough and sticky chicken but still managed to polish off the mains of dirty burger and seafood linguine. All delicious! Too full for pudding but will try to sort that out next time!

The service was nice and quick. The front of house was very welcoming. There was a small gap between starters and mains so we had a larger gap between mains and dessert. All the martinis were delicious and there was a large choice of alcohols as well as a large wine menu. There was not a specific vegetarian menu but all the options were available.

First visit here, food was incredible, very good service, lovely atmosphere 😊

Couldn’t have what I wanted on the menu because the iPad said NO!!! Seriously if you have things on the menu just because you can’t tick it on an iPad the waiter should have offered to write it down for me. I am following a very strict diabetic diet and should have able to pick and choose items on the menu. Found him to be rude and unhelpful and quite sarcastic! Won’t be returning

Dylan and Amie were our servers and they were excellent. The food made by Vali and Frankie was exquisite will definitely coming back and well catered for vegans

The initial service was slow, the table and starters came out together when I think they should have been separate, other than that the food was amazing great taste and the best rib eye I’ve had in ages, well done to the chef and staff

On a very busy day (Father’s Day) service was exceptional (thanks to Jason and Dylan). Food was all presented beautifully and tasted amazing. We enjoyed roasts (duo of beef and trio). Both large portions but one person versus sharing. All cooked to perfection! Impressed how speedy service was given how busy you were too. We then enjoyed after dinner drinks in the beer garden. A fabulous visit. Thank you!

The food was delicious...I had the pork with scallops..we didn't pre book so ate in the pub which was beautiful...dogs are allowed..the outside seating was lovely but unfortunately the weather wasn't. I think it will be lovely outside on a sunny day but would advise booking in advance. We ordered at the bar service was good we didn't wait long for the food.

Been here many times, good pub, the one I'd most likely visit when in Ewell Village - drinks are nice, food is decent, staff are great - the vibe is very family-friendly.

I ordered a deliver roo roast but was no option to order extra gravy on the sides. I rang up explaining could I please have extra gravy this young guy Conner was like absolutely and I did get what I wanted thank you Conner xx

Nice family and friends orientated pub with a large outdoor space, no sport. Service is decent and quick, prices are fairly typical London rates Well situated and easy to get to via bus, makes for a nice evening sitting outside in warmer weather

We had the roasts and they were amazing. Everyone had different meat and each was cooked perfectly. The medium cooked sliced beef was excellent as was the pork. The only challenge was the speed of service, which I can only take for them being so popular and busy at the Sunday lunch rush. The food made up for it, and we didnt have to wait for desert as we couldnt squeeze in anything else!

I love the Spring Tavern Tavern. Proper Pub Nice food, Great with the kids Paris is a lovely waitress, had fun with the kids, gave them colouring and said they could put their "art" on the wall. I just like taking my family to the Spring Tavern

Been a resident of West Ewell for 45 years and used to use the Spring a lot. Because of quality of food stopped going a couple of years ago. Today being our 40th wedding anniversary decided to give the restaurant another chance... We ordered. House Red wine (cheapest) £22.50 Starter Parfait (pate) £7.95 Seabass £19.75 Sausage & Mash £16.95 Results... Wine was left unopened for 15 minutes before we asked why, then we were not offered the opportunity to test it Parfait was OK but very small portion 2 small Sausage's, 1.5 onion rings, 4 green beans and a spoonful of mash potatoes Undercooked seabass with skins still attached, hard peas, hard new potatoes Overall not a good experience. Must stress girl serving not at fault seemed embarrassed

Fantastic atmosphere, service and food in the local pub. The colouring pencils for kids were a great added bonus too. Food was absolutely delicious, drinks were on the pricey side, but lovely all the same.

We were looked after by Connor and food and service excellent.

The staff were as ever fantastic and friendly and the meals were absolutely superb as ever. If I was to offer criticism then I'd be a liar. Whenever I think there could be improvement, the tavern has a knack of foreseeing that before it even presents itself. I was particularly impressed with the dessert/cocktail combo, most satisfying indeed.

We love the atmosphere, the environment, the staff are all brilliant, the food and drinks are also delicious! I’m attempting to get through the whole menu. We had a nice seat by fire which we requested, we also sometimes bring the dog and he’s also welcomed too.

Great local for gastro pub dining or a drink. Prices are pretty reasonable and the staff are friendly.

Fabulous food and drink, attentive waiting staff, accommodates large family groups. You could improve on the welcome, that could have been more of a welcome rather than the negatives of my booking!

We booked late for a Sunday lunch. We were warmly welcomed and sat quickly. Menu is great, drinks menu is very good. On a par with anything closer to London rather than in the suburbs. Food quality is very good and service excellent.

The best Sunday roast literally can’t be beaten!

I took my mum out for dinner for Mother’s Day. The food was delicious and the restaurant was a warm cosy atmosphere. We both had scallops to start, which were to die for - cooked perfectly, we were savouring every bite. Followed by the linguine, which again was so delicious. We walked away full and tastebuds satisfied. Would definitely come back again to have the exact same meal again.

We go to the spring for food all the time but for once I thought I what to leave a review as it’s always so tasty and good service and I’m hard to make happy as I’m a foodie. We went for Mother’s Day and like always despite the whole place being packed and staff everywhere the food came out top as usual maybe slightly better! Very good restaurant. Large dining area which is deceptive as there are cozy corners. Plus a bar eating area which is dog friendly. Upmarket all day menu as well as more ordinary fare under the lunchtime menu. Very good food. Well presented. Sensible portions. Delicious. All very clean, as well as clean facilities....though a couple of steep steps up to the toilets. The staff were busy but friendly, polite and food arrived hot and in reasonable time. It has a good reputation and I can see why. The main menu prices are middling expensive, but given the atmosphere, location and quality of food, it's worth it. I recommend a visit !

In December 2023, we booked a table at Spring Tavern for roughly 30 people. Jason, Billy, Georgia, Meg & Luke all served us that winters evening. We not only had delicious food and exceptional service (with a smile), but we would 100% return next Christmas season for a repeat experience. As you can imagine, with a large family group we find it difficult to find a venue to cater to all our needs, but our night at The Spring Tavern was by far the best meal & service our group has ever received in the UK. It cannot be easy to: host, cook, serve & split a bill between 30 adults, especially during the hectic Christmas season. But to our delight the entire staff were friendly, welcoming, appreciative of our custom & even asked us to return next time we needed a booking for our large group. We were shocked & flattered and will be returning for our Christmas 2024 family meal. Thank you again to: Jason, Billy, Georgia, Meg & Luke. You worked bloody hard that evening & made 30 people feel incredibly happy.

Lovely location for a family meal, excellent service for a table of 10. Jason, Harvie, Amie and Charlie were delightful and very helpful. Everyone was happy with their food - we will definitely come again.

My son loved his chicken burger. I on the other hand did not enjoy either of the two starters I ordered. The scallops were barely Luke warm and the puree did not have nice taste, for the price that was very disappointing. Parts of the goats cheese starter were nice but the beetroot was tasteless tasted store bought) the pear was nice along with the sauce but overall was lacking in flavour. I order similar dishes other places I go so have a sense of what to expect. The staff were friendly and attentive. It was a little dark where we sat. . I’ve driven past a few times and thought it looked nice, finally giving it a try was not overly impressed.

Outstanding steak and chips, garlic pizza is a must as well. All staff were attentive and we had a nice meal.

Me and my family went last night to celebrate my Dad and Aunties 60th birthday and had the most amazing time! The food was really really good as were the drinks. The pub was beautiful particularly with the fire it was stunning! The staff put out some balloons we dropped off and brought out a cake for us as well which was so very kind! Amy who served us was so fantastic- super smiley, so kind and attentive and she just made the experience that much more special! Will deffo be going back and recommend for anyone who is celebrating something special!

We arrived and were told that the table we would have preferred was booked for other diners. However, the table concerned, which was one of 8 available during our visit, was never taken! Please explain why this happened

Food was only ok. I had soup which was disappointing as firstly there wasn’t much of it, the small bowl wasn’t even half full but it also seemed to have a layer of oil/fat sitting on the top of it. No steak sandwich available at lunchtime so hubby had the prawn tempura sandwich which again wasn’t great. We won’t be rushing back!

Always a great meal here and excellent service! We came here yesterday for a celebratory family meal for my birthday and we werent disappointed. We attended for a Wake and everything went very well. Only problem was the limited car parking area.

Had our office Christmas lunch at the Spring yesterday. The food and service were great. I really enjoyed the turkey roast dinner, in fact it was the best I had ever had. I can also say the same for the Christmas pudding - just delicious! Recommended.

Had set Christmas menu turkey portion size good salmon OK but only came with cabbage in sauce deserts minute and spoiled some of them by adding Christmas spices such as creme brule

Made the mistake of having Sunday roast at 6:30 so all the meat had gone dry by then, veg and beer were good.

Three of us had lunch recently & the food, service & ambience was excellent. We were served by the delightful Harvie & Georgia, they were wonderful. Thank you, we’ll look forward to seeing you again in the very near future.
