Spring House Farm Shop and Café in Hambleton

We have just had the most amazing afternoon tea. It was incredible and delicious. We were overwhelmed with the food and the thoughtfulness of the staff. It was wonderful, Thank you so much.

Lovely stop and had a great brunch. Lovely coffee too. Shop Alison has lots of local treats.

Very cosy cafe lovely fresh food. A bonus being able to purchase Ben Ellis chocolates. Staff are very friendly it's a relaxed atmosphere plus you can buy quality bakery, vegetables and meat. Well worth a visit 🙂

Thank you so much to all the staff for a wonderful lunch experience yesterday. Had the best gluten free roast Turkey dinner with Yorkshire pud and had even made gf stuffing. All four of us enjoyed a truly wonderful Sunday lunch. Much appreciated. Will definitely visit you again.

Fabulous find! Lovely farm shop and cafe! Lovely staff! Didn't seem quite as stuffy as your usual farm shop. Not massive but a good choice of food and gifts. Spotlessly clean and quick service. The carrot cake was beautifully moist! Easy parking. Wheelchair friendly. I would presume dogs would be welcome outside. Good outdoor area too! Will revisit. Would recommend.☺️

Rip off little cafe, not looking after its locals. Saw prices, they were ridiculous. Tables too crammed together. Would not recommend this place, a coke costing £3.45 we are not in London

We had a wonderful breakfast here today. Service is great and the food is first class. Bought a coffee and walnut cake to take away. Delicious as usual.

Called in here while out on a motorcycle ride. I was attracted by the whiff of frying bacon as I rode by and turned around, such was the amount of mouth watering going on. What a little nugget! Great breakfast, coffee particularly nice and the lady and gentleman staffing it were the best. Friendly, welcoming and fun. Thanks very much. And to the chef, I really hope your eyeballs have stopped sweating! 😂😂😂😂

What a find just off Junction 51 off the A1(M). Farm shop & café. Delicious home made food to eat in or take away. Staff friendly and good service. Forget the A1 Services - have a real break.

Called for the first time since the new owners took over and it was absolutely fantastic. Loved the new decor, the atmosphere was relaxing and staff were friendly & helpful. We all ordered the breakfast and it was the best I’ve had in a long time. It was tasty and well presented. Too full for dessert but took some away. Bought some items from the gift shop for my new house too! Looking forward to our next visit.

The word charming doesn't begin to describe this sensational farm shop and cafe. I don't think I have ever met more kind and welcoming people in my life, paired with a lovely selection of sensational food and a great cafe.

Called in for a scone and coffee.

Food was nice, served up quickly and brought out to the picnic table I was sat on outside. I would have thought their could have been another sausage and egg it the box for the price also the menu says mushroom not half a mushroom as you can see in the photo. However the quality was very good. The place is set up nicely at the end of the RAF Leeming runway so you can watch the planes arriving or departing.

Comfortable farm restaurant with wide choice of meals, snacks and cakes. Fresh meat and vegetables in the shop looked great. Friendly and welcoming

Close to A1. We stopped on our way back to the Midlands from Newcastle. Good home cooked food. We had a delicious Sunday lunch here. I had the steak and potato pie, Yorkshire pudding, veg and roast potatoes. Great range of cakes and other desserts. Excellent service.

An excellent breakfast this morning whilst waiting for Vern the Van to have a new set of tyres fitted. Bacon, sausage, black pudding and egg roll and scrambled egg and salmon on a cheese scone. Definitely recommend visiting here if you are passing on the A1 near Leeming Bar.

The place is lovely! Very quaint and cosy. The little shop has goods to purchase. The chocolate éclair we bought was really good. Unfortunately, the jacket potato we had was not. It was very overcooked.

Called in to pick up some sandwiches and snacks for a walk. The sandwiches were lovely and full of filling. The homemade scotch egg was delicious. Will definitely call in again and look forward to having a meal in the cafe area.

This has become our favourite breakfast on the way to Northumberland Excellent Service and staff And the Food locally sourced Is always top-notch. They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day... here its almost like they believe its one of the ten commandments! 'Thout shalt not leave on an empty stomach!' One of the best farm shop cafes in the area!

Super quality food and fair price

We visited here a few days ago after reading some online reviews. When we pulled up in the car park there was a lovely outside seating area overlooking an orchard and open fields, very pretty. It was very welcoming when as we entered the cafe and deli and were shown to a table. The waitress gave us menus and told us about the specials board. We could see a variety of what looked like homemade cakes too 😋 Our orders for a Full English breakfast and a Prawn Marie Rose sandwich on white, with regular tea and Earl Grey tea were taken. I also asked for a fruit scone to be added to the order but as a takeaway. We would take it with us when we left. Yes, that was no problem. The waitress returned and asked if we would buy the scone from the deli when we paid on our way out as supplies were getting low in the cafe. That was fine with us. The signs in the cafe tell diners that they serve Yorkshire tea, great! As we were waiting there were a number of flies buzzing around, not good for an eating establishment or a place selling food! Our order arrived and straight away I wasn't impressed with my plate of food, the sandwich. I looked across and the breakfast wasn't as good as I'd expected it to be tbh but I didn't say anything. I had 3 cut sandwiches on my plate along with some crisps and salad garnish with balsamic dressing. Now 3 is an unusual number and I did try to get my head around it but didn't quite 🤔 However, I was perplexed as to why the top of one slice of bread had a 'pinkish hue' then it occurred to me what it was. If you're making a quick sandwich at home, for example, and you use 1 breadboard for buttering the bread and cutting tomatoes and peppers etc you're going to get 'cross over juices' from the fruit onto the bread, thereby making the bread a pinkish colour on 1 side! 😂 However when I picked up another sandwich, on the reverse was a cluster of small seeds - pepper seeds. The salad garnish had quite a bit of diced pepper in the lettuce leaf, which is fine but I can't eat peppers. I don't make an issue of it and if at any time I find them on my plate, I simply leave them to one side, but I've never encountered the seeds before as they're usually removed along with the core because they aren't very pleasant to eat being quite bitter. So you can understand how surprised I was to find them squashed onto my sandwich, thankfully I saw them before eating them! Throughout the meal we were pestered with those flies forever buzzing around our table and food, very off putting whilst eating. The advertised Yorkshire tea certainly wasn't what was in my teapot unfortunately and the accompanying hot water that came with our teapots came in a jug, a jug without a lid so it quickly went cold-er, sadly. As for the anticipated breakfast; there was 3 rashers of bacon but it had a 'layer of white' covering it, like the bacon one can buy from supermarkets that contains water and isn't dry cure. The fried egg was pale and hard and the baked beans lacked flavour. Unfortunately the sausage wasn't the same as those we purchased in the shop which are very nice 👍 On our way out we bought 2 fruit scones in the shop as the waitress had asked us to. At home later that evening when having a cup of Yorkshire tea it was time to have scone too. How terribly disappointing it was , it was dry and stale when I opened the bag and cut it in half. That really was such a huge disappointment!

Lovely place for lunch, sat in the sunshine had a lovely lunch. Got some buffalo burgers for tea!

Cracking farm shop and cafe, highly recommended

I absolutely love this place. The food is amazing and the staff are so friendly. I have been going to this cafe for years now. I agree with another review, wish we could keep this place a secret. They do a range of different food, as well as having many different local items in their shop. There is a lovely atmosphere here and whether you sit in or take away the food is always great.

had a lovely lunch here last week with our friends from yorkshire ,food was delicious and service by lucy was excellent we will be back but not till next year ,hope this cafe keeps giving wonderful service xx

Called in just for a cuppa went in told them we were sitting outside they gave us a menu and said sombody will be out to take our order. We'll waited 15mins and no one came out so we left and went to another eating establshment. Won't go again very poor service for us.

One of our favourite places when travelling. Top quality food (their cooked breakfast is the best!). Really friendly staff and some good stuff in the farm shop. Dogs are only allowed outside but very welcome.

We don't go here often enough. Great little shop right on our door step. Veg was very fresh and well priced. We got some fresh pies for lunch very nice. Cafe looks clean and tidy the food must be good as the carpark is always full. Would recommend a visit just so you know what you are missing. Looking forward to going back soon.

Great food both to purchase and to eat in! Homemade pies are terrific, as are the cakes and biscuits. There's loads to choose from and it's always well stocked. The staff will help with good humour and of you're looking for a table in the cafe they will do their best to find one. From soup to sandwiches to all-day breakfasts and homemade pies, you'll find something you fancy for sure. Oh, and the Toffee Apple Waffle is lush!

Lovely food freshly prepared. Extremely efficient and friendly staff. The shop has lots of lovely things to tempt you. We bought cakes to take home . Ican recommend the frangipan tarts!!

We enjoyed our food, we sat outside as we had our two dogs with us. It does get busy which speaks for itself. Friendly staff. Farm shop and small room selling crafts attached to the café. Would definitely recommend a visit if you're in the area.

I left Spring House Farm Shop thinking... have I just had the best breakfast ever?. All local produce, the eggs were beautiful, bacon stunning, sausage out of this world. When I entered, I thought it seemed a bit pricy for a breakfast. Tell you what, it is worth every penny. Absolutely Quality Breakfast, lovely friendly staff, in lovely settings. I even bought some log slices for my garden. In the words of Arnie... I'll be back.

Food was OK, little if any allergy info and felt awkward asking about several dishes trying to find something I could eat. Staff excellent, but not cheap fir the portion sizes.

Stopped off for a cream tea. Scone was very nice, but I was extremely disappointed to find that instead of farm produced fresh cream I was treated to a squirt of fake cream from a can. Don't think I'll be going back.

Such a warm welcome after our winter walk in the hills above Osmotherley.... Delicious homemade locally sourced menu, sensibly priced and covering all ages and tastes. And..oh...the cakes!! Before you go check out the amply stocked giftshop and grocery store for everything you may need....fresh veg a special treat! We'll be back! .

Really friendly staff and they were keen to please but the cafe seating was right next to the kitchen and was dominated by the smell of cooking (burning fat). The food was less than we had hoped for too ... sausage was pre-cooked and warmed up rather than being freshly cooked, egg was undercooked, bacon was overcooked. It is a convenient stop just off the A1 but we won't be returning unfortunately.
