Been many times now always amazing banquets really good friendly staff can't ask for more

Went there for son's birthday. Food is disappointing would have been cheap and better to cook at home. Totally not work it. Beef in black bean sauce was fatty and tasted funny like almost off. Chips were horrible. Chicken chowmain was plain just dreadful... Starter was awful spring roll served with a ball of salty red oil. Service was OK though the place was empty

Absolutely loved it, thank you! Lovely little restraunt, we arrived without having booked a table (tip, book a table or you may be dissapointed, it was busy) Even though we hadnt booked they accomodated us anyway(2 adults) with just a short 20 min wait, we went for a quick drink then returned. The food was ourstanding, hot, tasty, served in a timely fashion by the lovely waiting staff (thank you ladies) & steven the manager went out of his way to make sure everything was to our satisfaction & everyone elses at the tables around us, i found him to be a lovely, warm gentleman. We ordered starters salt & pepper mix sharing plate & hot & sour soup, the soup was wonderful, best ive had in ages! S&p mix was also fab with plenty for 2. My partner had the special curry, he loved it & i had the king prawn hot plate tbh i was very full after the soup & sharing platter so i didnt eat all my mains (restraunt offered to box it up for me) but what i did eat was fabulous. Starters vary in price, sharing platter was £8, main meals around £13~£15. The set meal was £25 per person. All in all we had a wonderful experience, thank you ❤

Had a lovely meal here on Sunday night. The place was light and airy and nice and warm. I asked for a meal not shown on the menu and they provided it without any fuss Overall it was reasonably priced and plenty of hot food from a comprehensive menu. The staff were charming and our waitress Kelsey was very pleasant. We'll certainly be back.

You can't fault this place. The staff are very attentive without being in any way intrusive. The food is excellent. We ate ourselves to a standstill. The Spring Deer is a staple for everybody in town. Guaranteed satisfaction. Excellent.

Had dinner here tonight to celebrate a family birthday. Had amazing food and service from Steven and the staff. Enjoyed it so much booked to go back in January for my nephews 13th birthday.

We have been to The Spring Deer for many years and have never had a bad experience. We visited in August for our eldest sons 21st and again in November for our youngest sons 18th. The food, service and value for money both times were absolutely fantastic! We couldn't fault anything during our 2 visits. The food was fabulous and the service was outstanding. My youngest son is very shy and doesn't like a fuss, the manager came over to the table and spoke to my son one to one and brought him a desert on yhe house (it was such a lovely touch which made the meal really memorable!). Due to the great experience we had we have booked a table for my 50th next week. We would definitely recommend the restaurant to anyone thinking of going!!

Polecam wołowinę w sosie z czarnej fasoli, chow main, zupę, naleśniczki z kaczką, małe pierożki o niesamowicie delikatnym cieście. Wszystko było przepyszne. Wnętrze restauracji ma dużo elementów nawiązujących do chińskiej kultury. Kolejnym wielkim atutem tej restauracji są właściciele, któryś z uśmiechem troszczą się o swoich gości. Będąc w tej restauracji czułem się tak jak bym był u starych znajomych. Polecam bardzo ten lokal.

They are amazing! Attentive staff, quick tasty food. The wife and I came to celebrate our 8 year anniversary of dating for the second year in a row, definitely making it a yearly thing! Cannot express enough how nice the food is. I overheard the next table saying it was the best Chinese they had in years.

Went last night and had a wonderful time. The service and food was outstanding. No rush between courses, sit and chat till ready for next course. All food served hot and that great moment when the plate for your food was delivered hot. I certainly was very impressed as I have a good allergy and they went above and beyond to ensure I had no contact with any foods that could have triggered an attack. Thank you so much. I will be back and highly recommend this place.

My husband and I are lived near San Francisco which has a huge Chinese population. Some of the best Chinese food we eat was in China Town S.F. We were pretty spoiled to have delicious and authentic Chinese right next door. We’ve been living in the U.K. for 10 years now and until we found Spring Deer, no other Chinese place over the years came close to what we are used to. We are super happy we found this place and finally when we have Chinese. We are fully satisfied and the food absolutely hits the spot. Spring Deer has a great menu and boasts a traditional Chinese decor. On top of that the food is super delicious and fresh. First Chinese restaurant in the U.K. where beef is not chewy and dry. The beef here, melts in your mouth. Highly recommend Beef In Black Bean Sauce. This restaurant is obviously doing something right. They have been open for over 30 years. We have been here 5 times in the span of a couple months and each time, each dish we get is fresh, aromatic and scrumptious. The restaurant is family owned and operated and you can tell how much they care by the level of friendly and welcoming service you receive. This is a very popular place and you can forget about getting a table over the weekend without a reservation. Best to make a booking a few days before the weekend to guarantee you get a table. Tue-Thur walk ins are OK but weekend tables get filled up pretty fast. Few other great dishes are the kung pao chicken, sweet and sour pork and chefs specials. To be honest, everything we had so far was great. They do offer vegan and vegetarian options as well. If you live or are visiting the area and you want some quality Chinese food, This is it. You won’t find anything better or fresher. Highly recommend Spring Deer for their food, atmosphere and service.

Service and food fabulous. Staff very attentive and explained everything and gave good advice on choices of food. We will return! One of our favourite places now. Good value for money.

Went for the first time last night as a group of 12 for a birthday. The service was amazing, Stephen who served mostly was really funny and helped make the night enjoyable. The food was some of the best chinese food I've had before. 10 of us opted for the banquet with crispy duck extra following Stephens recommendation. The amount of food was spot on. Really really worth a visit

Top tier! Amazing food as always, and the banquet is incredibly good value (and a great option as a vegetarian). The family feel to service is second to none and the atmosphere is authentic and feels like it's been this way forever. Nothing needs to change. Definitely recommend and regularly return!

We visited here this evening for the first time. We had the banquet which was amazing. So much food, cooked to order, fresh and full of flavour and presented lovely too. Steve the manager there, was so friendly and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. At the end with it being Chinese New year, He gave the kids an envelope which had vouchers off our next visit. Such a lovely touch. We will definitely be returning.

Absolutely beautiful food & customer services

Not quite as good as I remember it being in the 90s and 00s. A tad on the expensive side for its current offering. I wish the crispy egg roll, which can't be found anywhere else locally was as good as it used to be. Fillet steak Cantonese is an old favourite though and always pleases. Staff lovely and often accommodate a special request to put the hors doeuvres back on the menu if ordered in advance. I could eat buckets of the red fish.

Ordered on Saturday night have to say this is a very good Chinese When the doors reopen you must try the food 🍲

Ordered a banquet for two on Saturday night and was delivered within 30mins as promised. The food was amazing and steaming hot. Can't fault it on any level.

Just been here to have a meal with our grandson for a birthday treat. Couldn't fault the service or food. Very friendly and polite. Felt very safe, staff wore mask properly and all the time and there were screens between tables. Grandson happy and full.
