Had a lovely meal, with great service from Leah and Eve!

Chloe and eve, were very attentive. Food was fabulous

New menu is fab - loads of healthy choices with the chicken too. Great kids menu and friendly service

Visited today, waited an hour for food, with no prior warning of wait. Two girls on shift were incredibly rude, we asked how long the food will be and we were completely disregarded. We received one bit of the meal 30 minutes before the rest. Young lad was very polite and apologetic. We will not be visiting again.

Came for a Sunday roast and it definitely lived up to its expectations! Eve made us feel welcomed and accommodated to throughout, excellent service all round!

The most gorgeous healthy food and staff are lovely! Mike couldn’t be any more helpful just a really lovely guy. All the food was so nice we ordered mainly off the apex menu and it was all amazing! Highly recommend!

Absolutely LOVED having dinner here. The service was 10/10, staff were lovely, really attentive and the food was absolutely unreal! It was all so fresh and tasty and that season on the chips was just wow! Fab atmosphere and will definitely be back!

Saw this place on instagram for loads, not over hyped at all, the food was amazing, chicken was sooo juicy, the chicken gravy was amazing and the side of mac and cheese was the best id ever had. Staff were really friendly and fast. The only thing i could say is that tables are close together, it's only a small restaurant so very snug. But this is a minor detail, as the food is definately worth it. Really reasonably priced too! Will definately be back

After 10 years of searching I’ve finally found the best roast dinner in Liverpool and this place is fast becoming a weekly tradition for us.

Had the mexican wrap and it was amazing. Me and my family went and it was one of the nicest resturants. The price is reasonable and the chicken was lovely.

Ordered online from here really annoyed and disappointed that I never received any chicken and not even a re delivery was done about it there was literally no point ordering just to receive chips and mash? Just a joke

Spitroast used to be the best chicken restaurant in the city, after not having it for a little while we decided to order a takeaway from there, I tried the katsu bowl which I’d never had before and was honestly really disappointed. The rice was literally inedible it had a funny smell and weird taste, it was like it had been warmed back up from being cooked, I felt quite sick after having it to (I didn’t even eat a lot of it). The loaded buffalo fries also were not up to scratch. They did give us a refund for my meal but it doesn’t take away from the fact I was left with inedible food and was left sick after this meal. I’m highly disappointed and won’t be returning to what once was my favourite restaurant.

Amazing food, top notch. The pesto chicken is especially good. Looking forward to returning. I usually visit for a quick take out. Update: my favourite pesto chicken has been removed from the menu, really disappointing, I’ll pass now. Knocked a star off. Update: Nov 2023. New Menu it awful, just chicken and chips basically. You ruined a good restaurant in my opinion , no return for me.

Lovely meal, 1/2 roast chicken with salt & pepper loaded fries (would recommend these} and a side of vegetables, quick service, nice helpful service provided by Kirsty who was very friendly and attentive, the side order of vegetables is quite small for £4.25 but other than that lovely meal and will visit again in the near future.

Chicken is halal here which is why we thought we’d try it out. Service was lovely, food was amazing and very generous portion sizes! Thank you to Chloe and the girls who served us! They were also very conscious of our dietary requirements would definitely visit again! :)

We hadn’t booked and still managed to get a table… which was a lovely surprise. The food was very tasty and the service was fantastic. Our servicer Chloe P, was very attentive, sorting drinks as soon as we sat down and ensured we had everything we needed to enjoy our meal!

Never have roast available, always told to sit at the bar and the waitresses have no clue how long a table will be, what restaurant doesn’t know an estimate for a wait time on tables? staff don’t seem interested and would rather you don’t wait for a table. Would be so much better if they took bookings and actually had roast chicken on Sundays. Second time this has happened, won’t be returning.

This place has gone downnn hill!! So disappointing I used to eat her a lot. Last time I went It had changed but this visit wow.. I’ve just left and I’m absolutely starving. The bill come to £60. We got a child’s chicken with mash for my 8 year old. This was served as a baby dinner in a tiny bowl with half a chicken breast and about two spoonfuls of mash, had to pay extra £2 for gravy. The adults was chicken breasts priced at 8.50 per piece of chicken we got two. I Swear they cut one breast in half and shared it between the two plates. We ordered sides to share between two. Mash, greens, roasties & broccoli.. my rant here! I was charged £5.50 for 3 single pieces of tender storm broccoli the size off a small finger. drizzled with soy sauce. The pot of potatoes had 2–3 small spuds in it. I asked the manager why the portions were so small for this price. He said it’s the supplier.. I felt like running the local Tesco and buying the place a bag of broccoli if they are that short on stock or price whatever, they should not be charging customers this price.. it’s blind robbery for what you get. I wish ide of taken photos to prove how small these dishes were.. the manager wasn’t at all helpful on my complaint and tried to laugh it off. I eat out often, fine dining on the odd occasion and I’ve never walked away from a restaurant feeling hungry still untill this visit here. This is me foster ever review it was needed to warn people not to go if they don’t want to be ripped off.

Honestly this was by far the best roast I’ve had in a very long time. It was so well seasoned and the sides were perfect ! Great Yorkshire puddings and amazing seasoning on the veg too !

Lovely little place. I would suggest dine-in , instead of delivery. Your food is packed and travels in someones booth, so of course its not the same as freshly served by waiter! The chicken drum&thigh was delicious, succulent meat falling off the bone. l am only 5'6 skinny girl, but l would easily polish two of those, so next time l will be going for bigger portion ;)

This place used to be amazing. Their chicken was incredible and the roast potatoes were the best I’ve ever had, not to mention the amazing crusty bread and chilli pesto dip (which has since been replaced with just bread and butter). Ever since they’ve completely revamped their menu a few months ago, the actual food quality has just gotten worse and worse. The last time we ordered chicken, it was undercooked and rubbery. the past couple of times, I’ve had to get the order completed refunded because the potatoes were over cooked, brown, and soggy. They seemed as if they were old and had been cooked twice. For the price they charge, I’d expect better. And it’s a shame because like I said, this place used to be one of my favourites but their food quality has gone so far downhill to the point where it’s just inedible now.

Lunch menu is great and all cooked fresh, Claire was great and very friendly.

Fattoush salad with chicken. I asked not to have any flatbread in my salad, but Smithdown Road Spitroast also took out the spinach, rocket and crispy chickpeas that are advertised as ingedients of this dish on the menu. My salad was cos lettuce, red onion, a tiny amount of diced tomato (well, they are rarer than hen's teeth atm!) feta, and a radish. It was very tasty but I was looking forward to the chickpeas. I guess that fresh veg shortages are affecting the menu but it would've been fair to warn me at point of ordering. (And that doesn’t explain the lack of chickpeas!) Generally, though, I recommend Spitroast for good, healthy food. I'd send my feedback to them direct (rather than in a review) if they had an email address on the website. PS Please bring your pesto chicken pasta dish back!

The shawarma wraps were quite good. Unfortunately we asked for peri peri salted chips (white potato) but we got sweet potato chips instead which were a bit of a let down. But would go again

Got there at 1930,still waiting for food 45 miss later,took 2 other groups orders before ours even tho they walked in after us,can't comment on the food because I haven't had any yet

We visited and were sat right away with the food arriving within 20 minutes of our seating. We were checked on many times by our server Carrie who ensured a terrific dining experience. 10/10 would recommend

No won ton’s again’ no crispy chicken & ordered chicken breast & got bones in it plus my husband wanted crispy chicken with his katsu an had no choice but chicken breast with bones 🦴once again chips was over seasoned by far ( very disappointing) as we have been to every spit roast venue

I’m not from Liverpool, but every time I visit which is a handful of times a year I have to go to spit roast at least a few times in the weekend! The food is amazing - so fresh and tasty, the service is incredible...

Food was delivered to table fairly quickly. Perfectly hot (not just warm) Seasoning on the chicken was excellent, chips were great and coleslaw was creamy and crunchy. Really nice food all around.

Been a few times before food always good and service always the highlight. On this occasion our waitress Flora was very friendly and set a nice atmosphere for the evening 10/10.

Me and my friends stopped by after going pottery painting! Staff (Chloe) were very patient with us all having to arrive at different times and the food was unreal - something for everyone. Can’t complain about the free refills either ;)
