Spinach in Southwark

Disappointing....open sandwich greasy and friends glass of prosecco flat and had to return as glass was dirty. Noticed the salad bowls were left open and one was even parked on a stool at the bar! Staff were lovely but food could be improved.

Restaurant located In Lordship Lane in the section with the trees, not far from Lordship Pub. Simple bare wood floor decor with counter/bar. Big drinks menu for lunch and dinner which all looked reasonably priced (especially wine). Seating areas in front and out back of restaurant as well as seats outside on pavement under trees. Friendly and welcoming team. Breakfast menu only had around half dozen items but all interesting. Corn fritters were really good (and huge with nice hint of spice) with nice salad and bacon as was avocado on sourdough with poached eggs (perfectly cooked) and rocket with dressing. Good fresh coffee. Great place in Lordship Lane for breakfast, Lunch or Dinner.

I have come here a few times and every time I really enjoyed it. The food is creative and always a bit unusual compared to what you can find in other places. So far, everything I had was delicious. I also liked their decor and the cosy feeling.

Went here for lunch (3 people) and waited about 40 mins for a wrap, burger, toast and chips. It cost £40 and the portions are tiny. Food was average. Not worth it and wouldn’t return.

On Friday and Saturday night, Spinach offers a limited selection of small plates all with a Mediterranean theme. All our selections were tasty, especially squid, mushrooms and scallops. We found the staff to be charming and helpful ( not like some other Reviewer complaints). The wine provided great value for a London restaurant priced mainly in mid £30 range

Had the sweet corn fritters with halloumi, avocado and a nice fresh salsa. Portion was generous and reasonably priced given the area.

We both had salads with Thai fish cakes which we enjoyed. It took a while to place our order, receive our order etc. Our table was directly below a speaker so we decided to skip dessert and coffee as we struggled to hear each other.

The food here is good but it’s such a shame that the staff are so rude. I’ve encountered rude staff multiple times but most recently, the waitress (blonde with an Irish accent) that served me had an awful attitude and was rude to my face. I won’t be going back there even though I live round the corner. There are so many nicer options along lordship lane where the staff are friendly and make you feel valued and welcome. No owner or manager on site to see the behaviour.

arrived around 1pm - just waited a couple of minutes to get a table outside, attentive service. We all had the 2 salads and one protein lunches and they were all delicious - great large servings and the most delicious salads. Will happily go back there if in the area again.

Worst service ever - waitresses had a really bad attitude, we felt very unwelcome! Menu is awful, food selection looks terrible. Will never return, nor recommend.

I was excited to try Spinach for a dinner with a friend but came away very disappointed. We sat upstairs and it took a while to flag someone down to place our order. We ordered five dishes, two of which were good (the cauliflower and the spinach fritters), two were ok (the chicken thigh and the aubergine) and one was not good (the lamb flatbread). The lamb was a bit tough and it was served on a shop-bought folded flatbread (we buy the same ones at Tesco or Sainsbury’s at home!). Given the dish was called “lamb flatbread” I would have expected the bread to have been homemade. After finishing our food, we were left upstairs for about an hour with nobody coming up to clear our plates. We had hoped to have dessert or another glass of wine but weren’t offered either. We eventually moved downstairs to try to get served but we were still ignored even after making it clear we wanted to order another glass of wine. We ended up just paying the bill, at which point it was too late to get into a pub nearby so our night out ended earlier than planned. It was a real shame as the menu had looked good but I came away underwhelmed and really disappointed in the very poor service we received.

The food here was dreamy. They have a great selection of items: the scallops and the prawns were superb! Love this place - highly recommend.

Had a wonderful night after 3 months quarantine. Spinach did a wonderful job creating a relaxing, fun and safe environment. Great tapas plates and interesting wine list. I recommend the Austrian red or white (based upon taste) as a great pairing for the blend of dishes. Great service. And. Kudos to the chef for beautifully prepared scallops. Not only cooked well but prepared simply to bring out the flavour of the seafood. Exceptional.

Very, very overpriced, shocking when you get the bill for the basic brunch meal you had, especially if you add any extra to basic menu, like one small poached egg!
