Spice Thai in Liverpool

Fresh tasty dishes. The salt and pepper Sui mai, chicken satay and chicken dumplings were gorgeous. The weeping tiger was so lean with a tasty spicy sauce plus the salt and pepper chips are amazing. Not cheap and service charge is added which I don’t mind. We will definitely be back

Amazing authentic and tasty food. We ordered 7 different dishes between 2 and they were all very, very good. Very tasty. Service was quick and to the point. Would highly reccomend this. Surprised it isnt way further closer to the number 1 asian restaurant in Liverpool. Can't wait to come back.

Food was outstanding, I have a tofu massamon curry which was brilliant . The sauce was so tasty my wife had padthai which was also first class. The service was excellent and friendly.

So pleased with our experience at Spice Thai. It was a busy Saturday and we didn’t have a reservation but we were still sat down & seen to quickly. The menu was amazing! We ordered Chicken Satay, Duck Spring Rolls, Pad Thai, Green Curry and Salt & Pepper Chips. Everything was delicious, especially the satay. Lovely staff, will definitely return.

Stunning food and great service, staff were friendly. They even came around with a free glass of Prosecco for everyone on New Year’s Eve which I thought was cute! Would definitely recommend and return.

Eat on 4th December while visiting my partners daughter. We all had starters & main courses. All delicious. If you like this type of food & are visiting Liverpool then give this non chain restaurant a visit.

The food is decent but they pretended we didn't have a reservation (it was literally on the iPad screen) and then our food took over an hour to come and the starters and mains came at the same time so stuff was going cold. I contacted them about it but they didn't bother messaging me back. I'd say go to Tiger Rock down the road instead or go across town to Chamber 36.

When we arrived we were shown to a table upstairs and we were the only people there. We ordered drinks and two courses. The room started to fill up with a party of 10 next to us. Our starters arrived and we're ok. The other tables received their starters then their mains while we were still waiting they paid particular attention to the large party next to us. When I inquired where our mains were I was told they had been forgotten but we're on their way. Ten frustrating minutes later I asked for the bill for what we had received as we had been waiting for over 1 hour. I was told they could bag the mains up and knock 10% off, which I assume would be take away price anyway, I refused this and we paid for drinks and starters, with no compensation for the poor service, and left. All in all a very unsatisfactory experience would not recommend it to anyone.

Really small portions of the pork couldn't have weighed 150 grams and not sure how the fish got caught in the net😭😭. Nice staff but won't be back off for a kebab.

Firstly ...... most of the reviews here pertain to their original restaurant in Fleet Street ... so overall it's a little disappointing and a little misleading to see this. That said I treated it as a first time visit to a new eatery. FOOD: Authentic Thai - The Chicken Satay is exceptional. PRICE: A little on the hefty side and beware of the drinks prices (£4.40 for a half pint of standard draft beer and nearly £7 per pint) ..... these prices are way over the top for a joint like this. AND MY PET HATE ..... the automatic 15% Service Charge ADDED to the bill ...... yes you can refuse to pay it but make it optional by not including it up front ..... this is a greed behaviour and takes away the final enjoyment ....... dining should be a pleasure and stress free at the end. SERVICE / STAFF: Friendly and attentive and the food arrived quickly. LOCATION: Better than their last location. Castle Street is one of Liverpool's foodie hubs. AMBIENCE: A hemmed in cafe vibe. It is a tight fit (however they have an upper floor for overspill customers). FACILITIES: Poor for a new place .... it's only just opened and the single one in one out loo is mighty small and poorly finished ...... the sink and sealant to wall is coming away and it looks messy and tacky. CONCLUSION: Would I go again .... no ... as there are other tasty and cheaper asian eateries in the city.

My boyfriend and I came here optimistically after seeing it advertised by an Instagram account that promotes new and good restaurants. Disappointed. We were seated and given drinks in a reasonable time, however waited nearly an HOUR for gyozas and a pad Thai, whilst watching people around us be given their food before who waited at least 10 minutes, and bare in mine we were the only people in the restaurant when we arrived, so being busy wasn’t an excuse. The pad thai was not worth the wait, chewy, greasy and tasteless. We had a couple bites of the pad Thai and then got the bill leaving most of the meal, to then only have 10% taken off, after leaving pretty much an entire meal. Will not be returning.

Visited this restaurant with friends. The menu has a great selection of food and drinks. The staff was very friendly and was happy to answer questions we had about the dishes and made recommendations. We all enjoyed our drinks and starters. The main courses were fantastic too! Highly recommend the fish dishes and the steak dish (Weeping tiger). The milk tea ice cream was unique and very yummy. Would return for these authentic Thai food!!

Persistence in finding this restaurant (it’s up some stairs next to a colourful hotel at present) paid off. The moo ping and nam tok were full of flavour and just the right amount of spice (I went slightly red in the face according to the staff!) Really friendly staff and very clean kitchen. I would highly recommend this place to anyone and will be visiting again for sure. Apparently they are moving location soon, near to the Cavern Club I believe.

I lived in Thailand and this is was eating in Thailand is like. The furniture reminds me of eating Thai food on the streets of various locations I visited there. Prices are higher obviously but nice vibe.

We called and the staff were lovely on the phone, confirming details and times. Upon arrival the waitress was very polite. This is a small location and all tables were full, or had booking markers. We were seated promptly and served efficiently. My partner and I both had curries. She had a vegetarian curry and I had a chicken curry. They were delicious. They had just the correct amount of spice that did not overpower the flavours. The portions were generous. The Coconut Icecream for dessert was lovely. Not overly sweet.

Overall the food went from excellent to fairly average. My starter was really fab and the plate was piled high but the mains I had were......well good, but I've had a lot better at other Thai restaurants in Liverpool. The staff were very pleasant which was unlike the (very) high bill at the end which wasn't. I also found the restaurant to literally be on the cold side. Would I go again ??? Maybe.

Yet again another phenomenal meal, food is excellent, staff are amazing. So good we brought our leftovers home. Would recommend to anyone in the area.

I knew when booking the table that it was a small and intimate place but the decor inside is very shabby with holes in the walls that have been filled in and left. The staff were really friendly and can’t be faulted as they were really attentive. I ordered chicken satay to start and a chicken cashew nut stir fry for main and my boyfriend ordered salt and pepper spare ribs to start and a mixed meat dish for his main. The food came out incredibly quickly, almost as quickly as our drinks which was a bit of a red flag as it indicated that the food was not fresh. It seemed hot and smelled nice and looked presentable so we ate it. There was a table nearby with lots of children who were continuously running around the restaurant inbetween all the tables and screaming which ruined the mood as neither the parents or the staff seemed bothered but you could tell the other guests were annoyed by it including ourselves. The bill came to £67 which seemed fair at the time as the food was quite nice however that night my boyfriend woke up with terrible vomiting and diarrhoea and stomach cramps which lasted all night. It’s a shame as all of the previous reviews I had read before booking the table had said how amazing the restaurant is. We unfortunately didn’t experience the same.

This place is a must visit. Really informal atmosphere, top service and delicious food. The sea bass in particular is delicious and great value for just over £16.

We were so excited to try the food here as I have travelled through Thailand and ate in many great little cafes and restaurants in London. The food lacked flavour was served lukewarm, the place was scruffy and the toilets were filthy.
