Spice Quarter in Cardiff

Ordered veg food with Paneer Balti x2. App was showing 15-30 min delivery time. Order placed at 20.30 for veg biriyanis and paneer Balti. Arrival time when placing the order was showing 21.05. But food arrived at 21.55. When opened the bag instead of paneer Balti 2 portions we has chicken Balti. Very disappointed with the service and the food and the carelessness of the resatuarant. I never had such an negligence from any restaurant before. Waste if money. Food gone to bin. Very annoyed

Service was good but the chicken tikka massala was poor tasting. Edible but lack of flavour. Lamb bhuna was better but overall a bit of a let down.

I popped in to have a quick dinner before my departure back to London. Wonderful Management and staff. Very professional and efficient. The food is delicious. Consistent attentiveness whether it will be for a couple or huge groups. I would definitely recommend. Book in advance for busy days like Friday, Saturday and Sundays... Or walk ins by 6pm for seating. Thank you and when I'm back in Cardiff, I'll definitely be back.

We went as a couple for a date. The decor was nice and the service was very good. The food was delicious and the flavours were really strong. The atmosphere was pleasant and the price was not decent for the quality. I was surprised there were negative reviews.

Best chicken tikka masala curry

Chicken tikka masala is yummy. Really enjoyed it . Service was good .spend a perfect evening. And the rates are also amazing .

I had gone with my friends on Saturday evening. The restaurant was very busy.first time I tried Indian food . So We had ordered some starters and drink . We had the crispy pappodoms, and it was so quick service. Too good atmosphere, food was so delicious. Will 100% surely visiting again. Never regret to visit again. Restaurant is good for family too. 👍

This place is like a secret treasure for Indian food in Cardiff. The food is bomb, and the staff is super friendly. Utsav and Bena were awesome and made us feel right at home. Definitely check it out!

Worst place to take a party. Very rude staff and very late service. Not only were they not co operative but didn’t even have the decency to be polite. We ordered food that did not even arrive.

The service was slow, but that was understandable as we were a large party. ( for which the reservation was made in advance)However, I was appalled by the rude behavior of the staff, particularly what seemed to be the manager. We were seated at a table, and he was very rude to us about sitting there.The lady staff member was polite.Therefore, I would not recommend this place, as it feels like you have to pay with your dignity. We paid over £ 200 /- but they acted as if they did us some favour.

Mushroom rice was missing, when I called the restaurant they said I had to request a refund through JustEat and refused to send the missing item.

Had a superb meal, very tasty. Superb professional staff and a great atmosphere. I would highly recommend to any curry fans. I regularly visit Cardiff for work and will from now on make this a default dinner stop.

My food was ok not the best but my wife’s food wasn’t the best she ordered chicken korma but instead it was butter chicken we did complain but they did nothing so she wasn’t happy won’t be going there again

The best place for Indian food. I've been here several times and love their Murg Tikka masala, Mixed Tandoori plater, lassoni Naan, lamb bhuna, Murg kadai and Rogan ghost. Another of their hot selling food item is Sushi which is available for home delivery only. If you visit Cardiff City Centre do visit this amazing restaurant. Staff here are great and serve well on time.

Fabulous experience would recommend to everyone

The place is clean and well appointed with an attractive decor. The food was nice without being anything special and the prices, possibly because of high rents in this relatively new development, are not especially good value.

This spot is excellent for experiencing authentic indian food, suitable for everyone; singles, couples and groups. It has excellent hospitality service with variety of indian cusines which will make you feel like you are eating sonewhere in typical indian place. Great place with beautiful service.

Genuinely good curry, best in central Cardiff.

Went here with friends forr lunch before a match at the Principality. Very friendly, good atmosphere of fellow rugby supporters, fast efficient service. I had been before and would definitely go again.

I think our chicken and cheese curry’s were mixed up. Mine was spicy and didn’t taste like a paneer makhani I’ve had before, and the tika was bland

One of the best lamb biryanis I’ve had and I’ve tried plenty of Indian curry houses. The kheer was excellent too. But if there was more lamb in the biryani we customers would appreciate it more 😀

What can I say. The restaurant is very clean with a wonderful atmosphere. Staff are incredibly attentive and quick with any requests for service. Starters were brought out in a timely manner, with the perfect break before our mains arrived. Speaking of the food, 10/10. It must have come straight from the kitchen with no delay. The curries, rice, poppadoms, masala chips and the peshwari naan were cooked to perfection and tasted wonderful. Thank you for a wonderful experience on our 11th anniversary. Great taste of all the food items we had (paneer makhni, bhindi, aloo tikkis, samosas). Staff was very cordial and got it prepared as per our requirements. Pleasant atmosphere all around.

Excellent food with friendly staff, service was a little slow but it is to be expected at Christmas time. The atmosphere was good, lots of people were celebrating.

The best Indian restaurant in Cardiff city centre! A lovely, formal setting with great atmosphere makes it a special treat for a meal out. The prices are very fair too. They label the vegan and vegetarian options really well so there is no confusion!

To start with, almost £2 PER poppadom is crazy especially when the number of chutneys was lacking. Quantity of starters was surprisingly low and wasn’t made up with flavour. The mains were ok, but the keema naan bread was pretty bad, looked like it was off the shelf and heated up in a microwave. Staff were nice but the service was very slow, probably understaffed at the time. The final issue was the loud 1920’s Christmas music that was really distracting and irritating.

Me and my boyfriend was out to have a romantic anniversary dinner just the two of us and we was asked to pay the whole bill before even eating and the manager stating it was company policy this is disgusting and quite frankly I feel I was discriminated again for being homosexual I paid the bill did not eat any food and left DO NOT EAT AT THIS RESTAURANT ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING SERVICE ABD MANAGEMENT

Sat here having polished off a lamb chop starter, followed by a chicken Madras with coconut rice, and 2 jepaties. I can honestly say this is the best Indian meal I have ever had. This is the next level. Have done Mumtaz and all the places in Bradford. 3 months in India 3 months in Bangladesh congratulations guys this food is superb.

Had a great meal here over the weekend. The service was great and food was really tasty! I had the butter chicken. We thought the popadoms were a little expensive at £1.85 each, but apart from that it was well worth the money. Great location too as it was right in the middle of town so perfect if you are going out for a drink after. Please note there are stairs leading up to the restaurant so I'm guessing no wheel chair access. Thanks for having us!

Please avoid the service was appalling waiting about 20 minutes to been seen and seated. Once ordered and food arrived the silly waiter nearly dropped the food on my other half ! Without saying sorry , too it off the food was cold after contacting the manager she said she dished up the food and it wasn’t cold the main was that bad a know a korma is mild but this had no tasted and look like baby poo to top it all off washing a waitress wash the tables with a dirty napkin no spray on the table just a dirty napkin that was used on a person mouth place needs a good clean very dusty and needs to find a better manager who can take fault !

One of our favourite Indians in Cardiff City Centre, food is always delicious. Sometimes the time to serve can be slow on quiet nights but match days it’s always bang on and the perfect spot. We just had our first dinner in Cardiff and we found this lovely Indian restaurant. We ordered samosa as starter and duck and beef as mains. The food was nice and we can taste authentic Indian dishes here. The staff were also friendly and nice.

I am a bus driver for Cardiff Bus and I often go for evening dinner at this high class Indian restaurant. I particularly enjoy the keema rice which they added to the menu for me. It is very delicious and what an absolute joy that it is now on the menu as I asked for it. What better service could anyone ask for so I am happy to continue to dine there always. Recommend to anyone to try as I believe the food is better quality. Keep up the good work!

Wife and I had the four course Celebration set menue for £29 each. Service very friendly. Food was more than enough even for two hungry eaters. Atmosphere was good. Surroundings clean. Will probably return.

Had some interesting main dishes and it would have been good to taste the Welsh Lamb. Only spotted one waitress and as no service for 15 minutes decided to leave.

Beautiful place. Me and my friends didn’t book but the staff was able to find us a table. Overall great lassi and mains. The samosas was not as good as we expected and we wouldn’t recommend it. I had a spicy main ( 3 chili) but it wasn’t really spicy , nevertheless really good. The staff was not especially friendly but that’s more to do with indian way of serving I believe. Would recommend the place.

Perfect place to get exact taste for Indian dishes. The royal thali is spectacular for person to have all taste in one plate. Super quick service provided by dakshina and Sanjay. Planning to be soon back to get the same fabulous service.

Pretentious expensive food with very poor service

Probably my favourite Indian Restaurant in Cardiff. I've had many takeaways from here which have all been excellent and with perfect portion sizes. Lots of food here I can't find elsewhere and I am completely addicted to the Dahi Puri Chaat, Malai Kofta's and then Gulab Jamun for desert. Always absolutely delicious and some real gems on the menu. I will be back for more when the wallet allows!

I ordered a delivery from this place for the first time a few days ago. The food got here quick, was hot and was very tasty. Chips were fresh, thick curry that was mouth watering, and really tasty keema naan. Very happy with my order, and would definitely eat from here again.

Booked this restaurant at very short notice and were easily accommodated. When we arrived, we were very taken in by the beautiful decor. The service started off being very attentive, but very quickly started to feel as if we were being rushed through our food and out the restaurant as quickly as possible. The food was absolutely delicious, with some curries I had never come across before, the leftovers the next day were very good also. The bill was also extremely reasonable for a restaurant in the centre of Cardiff. Overall a very good restaurant, although the service would put me off visiting again in the future.

Lovely place. Was a bit uncertain initially because of its location but inside is aesthetically pleasing, clean and tidy. Staff were exceptional. The food, my god, so tasty. Plentiful vegan and gluten free options too. Spent £40 on 2 main meals, a side and 2 nan breads, with also alcoholic beverages. Can not beat that for value for money. Will definitely return.
