This is our go to place for the best Indian food around. The atmosphere is great and the staff go out of their way to make you feel special. I’m so glad this restaurant it’s only a mile away from where we live. Top marks for everything. If there is any family occasion we will be there and we have a big family.

The last time we were here was almost 2 years ago when it was excellent experience so we were a little apprehensive in case standards had dropped; we needn’t have worried! Food was excellent and quick to arrive with generous portion sizes given the (very) competitive pricing. Staff are polite and happy to chat with you without being overbearing. The exterior and parking areas could use a refresh / makeover but behind the bland facade is a hidden gem! We rarely leave reviews unless we’ve had an exceptionally good or bad experience; Spice Of India is definitely in the first category!

Staff were friendly but felt rushed to order, Rice was cold and clumped together, Tiki masala was extremely sweet with dry chicken, Rogan Josh, flavourless with dry chicken, cold chips, Tiki mixed grill, all meat was dry I’m not even going to speak about the starters individually, all awful Extremely disappointed ☹️

Been going here about 12 years never had a bad meal but the service was slow tonight as we waited 50 mins for our mains after our starters was eaten, it just seems to me that perhaps they should concentrate on the people sitting in rather than loafs of takeaways, but I would still recommend this to anyone.

Have been regular visitors here over the years. Visited Saturday evening for early tea and the starters and main course we ordered were all really bland. The chicken and sauce in the chicken chat was exactly the same as the chicken jalfrezi main no spice, no coriander, no kick! The restaurant has definitely gone off the boil or maybe the chef was having a bad day?! We paid in full even though we left our mains and generally we don’t like complaining, however, we did mention to restaurant manager when leaving. Time to try alternative recommended restaurants in the area next time we head out for Indian.

If you're looking for great food then look no further. Ive never been here before but after glowing reviews from friends and family i came tonight and i will definitely be back. The food was delicious and very authentic. We had the 5 course meal and we were not disappointed. There are dishes suitable for every level of spice, but if you do like a good whack of spice, try the Sylheti Biriani. The service is impeccable too.

Was shown to our table, within a second of even siting down and not even having chance to take our coats off poppadum’s and chutneys were pushed upon us. This is obviously a coy to make you stay! Some of the party hadn’t even sat down yet. After finally being able to sit down we noticed there were dirty stains all over the table cloth, food on the floor, the menus were full of grease and biro pen drawn all over them, they need chucking away. Dust was about 5 layers thick then to top it off there were fly’s the size your hand flying around everywhere. We promptly left!

All our party had a great time. The food fab, however one waiter needed to be a bit more polite when serving our food and not just throw it down on the table.entertainment from Sam the waiter, some jokes a bit below parr, but he is harmless. Would recommend booking a table as always busy but great overall.

Went to Spice of India on a Monday night so was pretty quiet, ordered first meal of Tandoori mixed grill which was cooked within about 5 minutes which immediately told me it was a warm up job, the Chicken was dry and tasteless and the portion was small compared to other indian restaurants I havce been to. Because of its bland taste I sent it back and ordered Lamb Rogan Josh (much to the staff's annoance!) Rogan Josh again was out within 5 minutes which may be a positive for some people but personally I would ratehr wait the extra time and not compromise on taste. The Rogan Josh just tasted like a tomato dolmio sauce with lamb in and again was bland, staff asked if this was better to which I responded not really and gave me feedback, he then proceeded to argue with me that 'that's how a rogan josh is supposed to be as its a tomato based dish' which I knew but wouldnt have minded a bit more flavour other than just tomatoes. Wont be visiong again the staff made us feel bad that we didnt like their food instead of just apologising for their dire serving!

Me and wife went Saturday 31st August, first time we've been and after reading reviews we gave it a go,we weren't disappointed. When we arrived we were taken to our table in the corner, the restaurant was busy and very loud but died down when people left.Straight away we were given menus and ordered drinks, popadoms and chutneys were brought over,we then ordered our meals, onion bhajis and chicken chat for starters, naga bahar and tandoori sizzling chicken with keema rice and pilau rice and a keema naan, have to first comment on the bhajis,HUGE!! and very tasty chicken chat we've had better elsewhere but still nice, the mains were absolutely wonderful, really tasty and full of flavour, the portions were a real challenge,we took what we couldn't finish home, and the naan bread was beautiful, coupled with 4 pints of cobra and a pint of coke I expected the usual £50 bill so was really shocked when it came to £34,the service was excellent and the staff a real credit, this place gets a 10/10 score from us will be attending again real soon

this is a local restaurant but had never tried it because the location is a somewhat isolated, when we arrived we were informed of a daily offer of 5 courses for £9.95, thought we would give it a try and we were not sorry.poppadoms and chutneys first, a choice of any starter, any main dish, any rice, nan bread or chips, followed by tea or coffee, then oranges and chocolates when the bill arrived.food was outstanding, I asked for a slight change to the meal on the menu and this was not a problem at all.the portions are very generous but most importantly very tasty and freshly made, the staff are very attentive but not in your face and will go out of their way to make sure your meal is pleasurable .the menu is not the same as the usual Indian restaurants as there are signature dishes and chefs recommendations which have a slight twist to the normal menu's.I will definitely be dining here on a regular basis from now on, I highly recommend it, give it a try!

This place is like a second home to us. We have eaten curries all over the UK and to have this place on our doorstep is an absolute delight. The food is second too none. The chef Farouk certainly knows his food and can cook any meal to suit your taste. All the staff are friendly, outgoing and are always welcoming. They also on hand to offer any guidance and what to recommend if you are a little unsure. We have dined as a couple, in small groups and have even celebrated family occasions when 30 of us ate there. This is one place I will never tire of going too. It is by far the best Indian restaurant around. The place has also just undergone a major refurb which makes it even more appealing. For £9.95, you can't go wrong. Even if the price was considerably higher it would be well worth the money. For anyone who likes Indian food and lives in Cheshire this is one place that you need to try. It is worthy of anyone's money !!!

I always eat here over other local Indian restaurants. The food is great, not just for the money either. I've lost count of the amount of times I've been and I've probably had one meal I wasn't so keen on, which could have been my choice rather than the curry itself. It can get very busy so you can wait a while for food and drinks. Staff are always polite and are doing their best at busy times, no issues with waiting if you go when it's a little quieter. There isn't much of an atmosphere but then if that's what you're looking for then don't go for a £10.95 meal! Overall I really like this place but its somewhere I just nip for tea rather than a place I'd go for an occasion.

The food here is fantastic, the service isn't what i'd call friendly its more what i'd call professional and well organized. Some area's are small so you get asked to move when the food trolley appears so they can get to other customers, but this is no big deal. If it wasn't for the smell of human sewage that occurs after 7:30pm I would rate this as being the best India Restaurant around. It has happened every time I have visited the place and normally I wouldn't return as I don't want to eat where I can smell sewage, but the food is that good that I do go back there.

I have been here 3 times now and every time the food has been spot on and its really cheap. The restaurant is the old Cuerdley Cross Pub near Fiddlers Ferry, parking available at the side/behind the restaurant. When you enter the left hand side has stayed as a bar and the right hand side is the restaurant. I have to agree with one of the other reviews on here that the pub side is a bit grubby but I have only ever known people to sit here when waiting for their table or their take away food. The restaurant side has always been packed the 3 times I have been but the food is really great. I can recommend the Chicken Tikka main meal with Madras sauce and the Sheek Kebab starter was lovely too which I asked them to put chillies in to spice it up and they did this no problem and they tasted amazing. The last time I went it was that busy that they did struggle to bring our drinks that we ordered throughout the meal and we had to keep asking them (service could be better), we then decided it was quicker and easier to just nip to the bar and order the drinks there and pay for them as and when. My other half is fussy when it comes to Indian food but he loves it here. I cannot fault the food and will be visiting again very soon.

We have been here a lot of times now and not had a bad meal. For the price it really can't be beaten. The food is very good, staff are very friendly. Restaraunt is easy to find, just look for the cooling towers of fiddlers ferry power station. Plenty of onsite parking. Children welcome, high chair wasn't great but suitable. Staff are always great with the baby. Menu has a good choise with not just a selection of indian, bit also some english dishes. Their meal deal as mentioned previously in the reviews is our usual choise. Staff have a good knowledge of the menu and are happy to advise if your not sure what you fancy. They do take away too which is excellent value, quick service, and the quality is excellent for take away food. Usually inculdes a free bottle of wine for orders over £20ish on the take away. Not world best wine, but for free bottle on a £20 take away cant feally knock it.Overall, this is a real gem of a place that deserves to do well for it self.

Very Busy popular Restaurant, that's probably why they asked us to leave the table just after we had eaten our meal and finish our drinks at a bar table, this was grubby and unserviced from the previous occupants, not a nice way to end the evening. The food and drinks were cheap with good value deals attached to the menu but sadly they were also of a poor quality, chewy prawns and bland watery sauces. If you want a cheap meal out and don't mind eating and leaving this is for you, but, if you want quality Indian food and a relaxful dining experience your best going elsewhere.

My boyfriend and I eat here fairly regularly - the food is always good and it's so cheap! Sometimes the chutneys are a bit runny and there's the occasional clumpy bit of rice, but for £11 it's excellent value and we're always stuffed. We nicknamed the restaurant Grumpy Indian because we've been unable to prise a smile out of the waiters on a couple of occasions, but the service is always fine otherwise. One of the staff even taught me how to fold the napkins into a nice fan shape when he caught me watching him do it and trying to copy him! We'll be eating at Spice of India again soon!

Just been introduced to Spice of India by family. We had the £ 10.95 meal deal which is excellent value for money. The staff are attentive and the food is of a good standard with dinks priced very well. The only cons are: Cuerdley Cross is quite isolated therefore its taxi or somebody doesn't drink in order to drive. The decor could do with refreshing and I agree with the review regarding he toilets. On the whole a good experience and I would recommend this restaurant.

We first tried spice when it first opened a few years ago. Recently we spent New Year at spice initially intending to collect a take away but ending up being offered a table and leaving at 4am thanks to Tommy!!! The food is generally very good with a good selection of regional Indian food. They currently offer a £10.95 appetiser, starter, main and coffee which is good value. The drinks are well priced with a good selection. The interior particularly the toilets need some attention. If you want a quiet drink or a group meal this place is good value.

Hands down, the best Indian restaurant around. They use the freshest ingredients and make sure each dish is done the right way. They will also adjust the dish to your liking. Loads of options on the chef’s specials - Naga is a must try! Along with the great food, the guys that run it are super friendly and have a good team.

5-5 30th October 2024. ‘Wandering Wednesday’ this week took both Hubby Neil and I to ‘Bombay 8’ from which we both have said it’s the BEST Indian dinner we have EVER had and believe you and me, we tried a lot of different restaurants, we been to Bombay 8 many times before and it just seems to get better and better!!! Our Dinner this evening was totally OUTSTANDING!! The staff were all so very pleasant indeed, I’m gutted I didn’t get the names of our servers, a young gentleman with a beard, short hair was very well groomed and pretty lady with long dark hair and beautiful nails!!, they were totally professional, attentive and very well mannered, they gave us outstanding service and are a complete credit to this establishment….. thank you. Starters: We both had ‘Bombay special mixed platter’: Chicken tikka, lamb chop, sheek kebab and garlic chicken, garnished with crispy salad, 2 side dishes of sauce, one of which was a chilli jam, we mentioned it to our gentleman server and he brought over 2 takeaway tubs full of the chilli jam for us, we were so grateful, it was very kind of him and he said he made it himself! Absolutely Delicious! Entrée’s: Neil had Lamb chop Frango, tender grilled lamb chops cooked in a spicy thick sauce, with yellow lentils, chillies, garlic, ginger and coriander, all together created a rich spiced sauce…… I had Tandoori mixed Korai, which was tandoori chicken, chicken tikka, lamb tikka, sheek kebab with chunks of tomatoes, red and green peppers, with a rich thick sauce (I asked this to be Madras hot, it was PERFECT.) garnished with spring onion and coriander….. We both had Bombay special rice each. To share: a bowl of chips and Peshwari naan bread… Total compliments to the chefs…..you are all very talented in your work…. Thank you. All the dishes were perfect and it was all completely faultless. The restaurant has been recently decorated and all the servers uniforms were pristine. Well done Bombay 8, the manager came over and said hello too….. your restaurant is a credit to you and your staff. Thank you. Big question? Will we be back?? What do you think!!!!
