Spice of India in Enfield

We ordered meals for 4 people. And they forgot a whole kids meal and two rice. We double checked the recipe and it was all there. So we rang up and asked for the missing items. The man returned and denied that there was a problem. They arrived back in about 10 minutes. But then they forgot the drink that came with the kids meal. Overall,the food was bland and the HALF bit of poppadon was very rubbery and un-eddible. However, my half-chicken tandori was quite nice and had a bit of spice which was a nice touch. SO: Avoid takeaway Avoid the poppadon And if you do order takeaway, double check everything's there. Avoid salad as well!

Came here with my mum for a curry had the best vegetarian thali I've ever eaten. And far too much to finish in one go, so I got the rest to go for another night. Great, friendly service too and reasonably priced. I'll come back here again

Pleasant, impeccably clean, comfortable, silver service. Extensive menu. Freshly cooked food at very reasonable prices. Will cater for any allergies. Everything we have tasted has been utterly delicious. You will not be disappointed.

Great service and great food. What can I say!.. You should go there! Also delivery for locals too which is great.

We visited as a group of 10, quite early on a Saturday evening so were not surprised that we were the only ones there at the time. We waited over an hour for our food after we had ordered. When it eventually arrived most of the dishes were cold and had a skin over them where they had obviously been sitting around for a while before being microwaved and then left to stand again to get cold. 2 of our party didn't get a meal at all and when we asked about this we were told that we hadn't ordered it. 10 of us sat down and only 8 meals served??. The waiter that took our order was pleasant enough, well dressed etc. but the waiter that' threw' our food onto the table was wearing a scruffy pair of jeans and a sweat shirt. Looked like he'd just been out on a delivery. Definitely not going back here.

Its difficult to review the Spice Of India. Good points,the food is very good, the restaurant in clean and tidy, and there's a good selection of dishes. Bad points, its always empty,hence no atmosphere. If fact its a bit like eating in a library. You find yourself whispering. Unfortunately this leads to a not particularly enjoyable experience.

Had a wicked meal from here,was delivered on time, delivery driver very polite ,great traditional food,good flavours,and great price,will defiantly order here again,also had a free bottle of Pepsi,

I am not sure if the owners have changed over the past 2-3 years but we went back as a family and it was quiet disappointing. We ordered chicken tikka and tandoori chicken which had the same red colour and tandoori taste. When we asked the waiter he had no real explanation as to why both are seasoned the same and insisted there was a difference. Quite an insult to our intelligence. The curry sauces were bland and tasteless, like the came from a bottle, not cooked from fresh spices ground up like authentic sauces are made. The rest of the meal was ok, just nice nothing stood out.

No one was in the restaurant on a Saturday night. Which is fine but surely you expect the best service etc. Despite us being the only customers, we experienced the following; 1. Dirty menus 2. Slow service to take order, to take plates and to make the food 3. The food was very dry and dull. I was expecting mouth orgasms after the amount of time we waited. 4. Even got our order wrong haha I feel sorry for these guys. They didn't even have 1 phone call that I can recall for a take away :( Someone give them direction. Gordon Ramsay?

Great service by a young gentleman who was friendly and professional throughout. Food was delicious, hot and fresh and served in good time. Good prices and many options.

Right on our doorstep we decided to try the Spice of India. When we arrived there was a gentleman sitting down and he prompted us to come in and enjoy the great food. Well.....That alone seems a risky choice. Its not the finest of places and could do with a little decoration, I was also concerned that the waiter unknown to him had Curry Sauce dripping down his trouses. I'm not going to tell him!!!! The food arrived, and its pleasant and will leave you feeling full, but you will not be fulfilled. Plenty of choices in N21 and much better standards. Although for the price of offers it arguably represents value for money I just enjoy my food more and will pay extra when if required.

We go to this restaurant regularly and if we can't visit we get a delivery. The food is the best Indian we have ever experienced. The atmosphere is extremely pleasant, impeccably clean and the owner and staff could not be more helpful. It is the highspot of our week and could not be bettered. Unlike other Indian resturants where sauces are ready prepared and just poured over the food, the sauces are freshly made so that anyone with an allergy is protected. It is exceptional value for money and we cannot recommend it more highly.

Normally gets 5 star from us. We are regular customers. This time there were lots of little bits of plastic in the mango chutney which were almost swallowed and we had to pick them out of our mouths

Not the best curry we've ever had. We were also told 45 minutes for delivery, which actually arrived an hour and a half later. We were not impressed as we had family with us that had to leave. Would not order from here again.

The "qorma" seemed liked some tossed a jar of pataks and some tandoori chicken cubes together. But forgot to actually cook the thing. The colour of curry & chicken didn't even match. It didn't seem fresh and It was so sweet that I thought I was having a desert. Kebabs were ok but again didn't seem fresh and were only passable. Overall the whole experience was marred by the appalling curry if u wanna call it that. The only thing I enjoyed were the poppadums. Not going back. Ever!!

Visited for a family occasion Despite being the only ones in the restaurant, the order seemed to take an exceptionally long time to reach the table. Even then one dish didn't arrive until after we had almost finished the meal!

Although this restaurant has been around for many years, and is less than a mile from my house, this was our first visit. We have been looking for a reliable local Indian restaurant and this one has several good TripAdvisor reviews.We went early on a Saturday night and it was quiet so we had a choice of tables. Décor is a little old fashioned but it still looked like a traditional Indian restaurant. The waiter could not have been more helpful or friendly.The menu is extensive and we chose chicken dishes for the main course. My wife had Bhuna and I selected a Chicken Chili from the special menu. Both were well prepared and delicious. Portions were on the large side. My lamb tikka starter was also very tasty. All the side dishes were equally enjoyable.There is no draft beer but large bottles of Cobra are available.All in all, a good first visit and we will be back.

I've ordered from Spice of Indian on several occasions and the service has always been excellent. The food is always piping hot, tasty and arrives in good time. On one occasion there was a very small delivery error which was rectified immediately. Cannot fault the service and will be ordering from then again!

Disappointing. The chicken dupiaza was tasteless, the lamb tikka massala full of sugar and more like a dessert than a main course. Tandoori meals were fine, but very disappointed overall. It also took over an hour to arrive. The price was very good, but would have preferred to have paid more for better quality.

Ive tried many curry take away places in Enfield and this tops them all by far. I had the chicken jal frezi which was lovely n warmed with chilli tho not too hot and my dads lamb curry that was only a fiver was beautifully spiced and tasted home made not out of a packet that most places taste like. For us its been hard to find a good indian in Enfield but this will definately be a place we will frequent.

great atmosphere, terrific service and what a menu. My chicken korma was to die for- this is a wonderful place. It is a little too busy for my liking but nevertheless it delivers and is popular with tourists and locals alike. well worth a visit.

Went to try the food on a recommendation from a friend and they didn't let me down. I had the 3 course meal deal. Food had great flavour and taste and my portion was well worth the money. Will definitely come back as I feel this is the best curry around in the Enfield area

GREAT SERVICE, GREAT STAFF & GREAT FOOD. The food was mouth watering, must say the chief's finishing touch is superb. Highly recommend go and try out their yourself you won't be disappointed. If your looking for a nice restaurant look no feather Spice Of India is the one.

I've been coming here for almost a year now and I have always left with a full stomach and a smile on my face. The service is great and the food is superb. If you want authentic Indian food, this is the place to come to.

iv had some bits and bobs exchanged and missing from the order. i ordered a burger meal which included chips iv only received the the burger. the sauces i ordered with my meal were different but in fairness they have substituted for it. the meal was nice and hot and Delicious. will be ordering again next time :)

I came here earlier tonight with my friends as I've ordered from here and the food has always been lovely, and we fancied a change, so we dined in, I have to say that the food was I had was from the tandoori range and was better than expected, the taste of the food was exquisite! I will definitely be my number one Indian, and the staff who served us were polite and funny, and they made us feel welcome and comfortable, excellent service, well recommended.

This is the first time I have been to this restaurant, a few of my friends told me to try it, so I did, and I'm very fussy with my food, however the food was upto my standard, the chef who is also the owner, cooked it to my liking, the service was excellent and my food was excellent! Really friendly staff, who are happy to cater to my needs, definitely will be going there again!
