walked in with my wife and waited 10 minutes in an empty restaurant to be seated and served, then we waited another 30 minutes before receiving my food which was warm and had hair in my lamb bhuna which when i went to complain about it to one of the waiters i was told that it wasn't hair until i had to ask for the manager, the naan was very stale but my butter chicken was good even though it was lukewarm. would not go here again!!

Was nice restaurant … but not now Food is not prepared like before Chilli paneer just chill sos don’t make properly…

The food is decent enough, the curry portion size is tiny

We ordered take away. 2 chicken biryani’s which was no where close to chicken biryani’s no flavour nothing. All it tasted was turmeric rice. Also i found stone in biryani’s which i showed them. Manager got masala plate to show its spices which definitely was not spice and totally denied the fact. I say its very bad quality. Guys serving were very nice and polite.

Recommended by friends who live locally this Indian/ Bangla restaurant was delicious/ great value for money and great airy clean atmosphere . Tandoori mix grill .. ch tk mossala mushroom bhaji chapati naans were fresh hot & tasty with a good helping of poppadoms Naeem & another lovely waiter served us and we definitely would be coming back , thank you

Visited Spice Lounge for the first time while fasting and had a great experience. The staff were incredibly accommodating, offering us a quiet space to rest until sunset (break-fast). The food was beautifully presented, and they carefully tailored the dishes to suit our tastes. Despite being busy, the service was friendly and attentive. Highly recommend for an excellent dining experience.

On our first visit to Manchester we decided to give it a try. Halal but wine is served too.lol.. As no better option, we ordered biryani, chicken bhunna . Chicken biryani was boneless with no taste and deep yellow color somewhat close to mashed. Chicken bhunna was a bit ok. I won’t suggest these two dishes at all. Service guys were polite n nice.

Just passing decided to pop in for tea.. poppadoms and the chutney tray to start along with a bottle of zinfandel no starters mains where decent portions which where the king prawn chilli curry the salmon tikka which came with a curry sauce and a Lamb curry also garlic nan pilau rice we all enjoyed our food and it was flavoursome service was good but they weren't busy. would we eat here again yes we would even though its not the best indian I have been to but it was nice enough!

OK, I have eaten here on many occasions, they use to give discount if you produced your Crowne Plaza room card (Hotel is next door). they have now stopped this. The food has always been "Good" Something was different this time, you always got your food served on silver serving plates, and it was always fresh. This time it was served in a white dish which was very hot, I could be wrong but I felt the food had been microwaved it was a bit dry. The meal was ok. But just feel not as good as usual. Premises were quiet, but clean, and staff were ok. Clean toilets.

Usually go to the Spice Lounge when we have a day in Manchester, never disappointed food always good, staff helpful and polite. My family know how much I enjoy this restaurant so much so that they arranged my surprise 60th birthday there, staff were more than happy to go along with special cake etc. thanks you guys see you soon. Has someone been ever astonished to witness a disaster dish famously called Biryani? I was in Manchester for a conference so I decided to go to the restaurant and ordered the dish. When the dish arrived— let me take a pause here. First I noticed a fried egg on top of the dish so I asked the waiter to give me plate to remove the egg. It is interesting to note the name Biryani and the so called dish was rice mixed with curry sauce and few pieces of lamb put together. I can assure all the readers that I have eaten Biryani in other restaurants and I was never disappointed as ever. The situation was so embarrassing that I paid the bill and left the place. My judgement was that if the restaurant management cannot see what is being served who can.

Visited here on the off chance ,food was excellent good portions we had poppadoms,starter rice ,naan bread and 2 x main meals really tasty and good price would recommend.

Don't normally leave poor reviews but on this occasion I felt the response to a complaint was poor. My wife had a meal which only contained 3 pieces of chicken. After our complaint the dish was returned with an additional 3 pieces which looked like someone else's left overs. Won't be returning.

Heerlijk gegeten, eerst met 2 collega's en paar dagen erna nog een keer zelf gegaan. Ik had de butter chicken de eerste keer en de tweede keer de chicken masala. Echt super heerlijk met knoflook naan brood. Zeker aan te bevelen.

J'ai commandé un paratha qui était chaud en extérieur mais très froid à l'intérieur. Grosse déception, dans mon cas. Cependant, le reste était correcte.

Some of the reviews on this restaurant do not do it justice. All I can say is I personally found the standard of cooking to be very good in this restaurant. I opted for a Bhuna Chicken on puree starter simply delicious. Main dish of Chicken Jalferezi cooked to perfection. Side dish of Bombay potato and a chapati. I also ordered a bottle of Italian wine this I have to say was a good bottle of wine and light to taste. The wine happened to be 12% this meant it was not like some a heavy taste. Nice and fruity. In general I enjoyed the whole experience. Unlike one of the reviews on trip advisor the staff were curtious and polite. From my point of view I would personally recommend this establishment to all. Good food in a spacious venue right opposite the bus station. Reasonable price for a city centre restaurant too.

Booked for nine of us to eat there, unsure of what to expect, turns out it was superb. The staff gave just the right amount of attention, and it was generally agreed, the food was very good.

This is a very decent place if you want to have Indian food in Manchester. Whatever we ate had lots of flavours and was tasty The only issue we had was the chapati was super hard (as hard as a papad)

4 pieces of Paneer in Paneer Tikka, Not at all worth it, food tasted bland and sweet inspite of asking for extra spicy. Very Bad Experience. Can be easily labelled as Worst Indian Food in UK in terms of both Quality /Taste and VFM!

Husband and I had a lovely meal here whilst visiting Manchester. I secured a booking online via a Google chat method. The food was flavoursome, good size portions and reasonably priced.

Bought Dal Tadka from here last night. It was not Dal. It was full of water and tasteless. Won’t recommend it to anyone

Went after a gig in Manchester at the end of June, as parked up nearby beforehand and called in on the spur Have to say this was the worst ‘Indian’ meal I have ever had, and I’ve had some bad ones in almost 40 years of eating them Appalling food, appalling atmosphere and 3 out of our party were really rough the following day, and not one of us drink Wide berth for this place, simply horrible

We visited Manchester coming from Birmingham and come across this restaurant tonight and we are so glad we did from when we got there the one waiter was amazing really good service and so was the whole team , the food was also absolutely amazing was the best curry I have had , thankyou so much

Stayed at the Crowne Plaza for a week on business. Got a takeaway one night from Spice Lounge which was so good, I had one the following night. Chicken shaslick, Gurkha chicken. So good I booked a table the third night. Lamb Piro Piro. Excellent food. Excellent service. Can’t recommend highly enough. If you are staying at Crowne Plaza, don’t eat in get yourself to Spice Lounge. The food is 100 times better and cheaper.

Been a couple of times When flying out of Manchester always just as opening found food of good quality and service good Atmosphere quiet do to time we dine But will be back again

3 couples visit on a Tuesday night. 4/6 said excellent, 2/6 said just ok (but they were in a bad mood :) ) I had the Jalfezi Balti which was excellent, along with the service and the lager.

Taste was good a lot of sauce hardly meat or chicken in the biryani, butterchicken and lamb. Good service

They have a slogan of contemporary Indian cuisine but I didn’t see that on the menu . 1- Staff service was good with friendly service . 2- Menu : you can get all sorts of Indian cuisines . 3- The biryani was service with an egg which was unique . 4- Atmosphere: was good and large dining area

Went to get some tasty chicken Tikka masala but was quite disappointed as the one you buy in the shop and make at home is tastier. The onion bhajis we're great, though.

After match curry (city 4 liverpool 1) in early evening. Well nice! I like tomatoey meat in a thick sauce that is just that bit too hot (jalfrezi), hence a raitha 'just in case'. This place did not dissapoint and my mouth is watering typing this up! Price reasonable and delivered quick though there were only a few other customers in.

Food & Service both average. Naan bread undercooked and had to send back. Would possibly give it another try. However, check your bill. Hand written bill, not added up correctly, so an extra £11 randomly added to the total.

Looks like a pretty standard curry house, but the food is really good. We went with a large group and hadn't booked, but were sat without issue and most importantly, the food was really good and the value also good.

Wow, such a great Indian restaurant. My friend and I had just got back from the airport and we found this manqunian gem! The food was amazing, authentic and so well cooked!! - It was really nice not to have a super greasy curry. The staff were welcoming, friendly and very helpful in terms of recommending dishes - I tried something new and the flavours / spice level was just perfect. I also found the prices were reasonable for a sit down meal in central manchester, with good quality and great portion sizes. Bathrooms were clean and tidy too! However they were downstairs, so I'd recommend asking if they have lift services or an upstairs one, if needed.

Possibly the best lamb bhuna on earth. So good and the staff were quality and welcoming. Recommend to anyone looking for some top tier scran!

Great quality, prompt for collection, and good value for money. Staff were pleasant and the service was speedy (Wednesday evening so pretty empty at 6:30). I had the Chicken & Chana Balti, Garlic Rice and Cheese Naan, my partner had the Tandoori Mixed Grill and Keema Naan. In total it came to £25, we got a 25% discount (not sure why but i’m not complaining!). The cheese naan wasn’t particularly cheesy but good nonetheless, and the balti was gorgeous! Will definitely be visiting again soon.

Been in a few times recently and always been happy with the service and quality of food. I'm surprised it isn't busier at times. I'd definitely recommend.

Good service and average food. The host was very polite, and all of the staff had smiles. Food was good but it was basically your chosen meat with your chosen sauce. Ate between 5pm and 6:30pm and there was a steady flow of costumer coming in

Perhaps, the best curry I have had in Manchester. (£40 for me and wife) Had the madras, wife had karahi. Both were full of flavour, chicken was lovely, rice was lovely. Naan bread was perfect too. The two gents serving were great too.

I went in and before I sat down , I told the waiter who served me I was only going to get chips as I was not hungry. Sat down , the chips came no problem. I finish the chips , then this pushy waiter starts saying that minimum service is £10 , £15 which is not very specific . Finally after being tired of being hustled and swindled I stated clearly I will not pay this extra £10 service charge this guy was now suggesting I must pay. I will not be taken advantage of. I was told to pay for my chips promptly and then leave. This is my 2nd time coming here and I will never come back again .I am ashamed to have been a customer. I recommend you do the same.

My favourite Indian restaurant in Manchester. Food is tasty and the staff are lovely.

We always walk past this place and think it's so big and usually so quiet it put us off in the past. We finally read the reviews which seems largely positive so gave it a go and would definitely go again. The venue is a little odd, seems like a re-purposed nightclub but the food was good and the service was quick with a super polite waiter that served our drinks. The naan breads were really tasty too which is always an additional plus point for us!

Every now and then us old boys meet up for a few shandys on a Friday after work. More or often than not we end up here. We keep going back so it must be good!!

Quite simply a experience the chicken was the dryest piece of chicken, I have ever eaten. I was so sick later, I spent the night on the toilet.

Awful. Was given raw meat on the 2nd attempt to correct my wrong meal in the first place. When i mentioned i wouldn't be paying for my curry as id been given raw meat the staff became quite rude i was told whatever the customer is always right and in this instance the customer was right. When it came to paying the card was snatched from my friends hand and tapped on machine without permission which was then declined because we was charged £312 instead of the £31.20 bill. AVOID!! I was sick after leaving the restaurant and struggled to sleep that night as i couldn't believe what had happened at a curry house id visited three years previous and had a fantastic meal. What in the world has happened in the last 3 years.
