Spice Lounge in Lichfield

Food arrived 10-15 minutes late. Food was luke warm. Salad tasted old. Not much tikka chicken in the rice. Keema naan practically nothing inside. Disappointed 😞

We’ll what can I say. What a terrible experience. Thought we’d order a Indian for a treat. Waited 1 1/2 hours for delivery. Tikka turned up luke warm. Poppadoms were soggy, bhuna was incorrect and items missing. Told the restaurant, had to wait a further 40 minutes for the correct food to be delivered. Food is rank, Peshawari naans have some white powder inside them which I know isn’t coconut, tastes more like garden soil. Guy on the phone was rude, delivery driver was lovely. Never order again

We love this place.... Best takeaway in Burntwood... Esp on Wednesday when they do Any starter, main and Naan for £11.95!!!!! But even without the offer, would still eat here.... Love going into the restaurant also... Food is consistently tasty and staff are great esp Aka!!!!!!!!!!😊 Been using this Indian for at least 10 years!!!!!

All 3 meals very bland no taste. One was supposed to be a combination dish, 1/2 meat jalfrezi, 1/2 chicken bhuna, there was no meat only chicken and no spice in the jalfrezi, not even 1 chilli to be seen. Very disappointing as used to be our regular. I’d rather it be late and taste right than early. Only good thing was the cheese keema !

Had the monday banquet night, thought that portions would be less because of the really good deal, however everything was full size and the food was fantastic! I will definitely be ordering again thanks!

We visited this restaurant for a takeaway. First of all we had to wait one hour for the food rather than the specified 30 minutes,. To be honest we could have lived with this however the food was atrocious! Poor ingredients especially the meat and chicken, soggy Nan breads. Two of us had South Indian garlic chili chicken. The restaurants interpretation of this classic Indian dish left it almost inedible. AVOID!!!

Ordered many times from here before without a problem. This time food was delivered over an hour after the estimated delivery time. When it did arrive the naan bread was dried to a crisp and food was nearly cold. We only live 0.3 miles away from the restaurant which is less than 1 minute drive. No apology or explanation from the delivery driver.

Curry’s were cooked well and were obviously different dishes unlike some places where they all look the same. Just had that something special lacking.

Spice lounge spice lounge spicy lounge ... where do I start. Walk in look at the menu and what do I see a whole FISH menu! I go straight for the salmon lazini - an adventurous choice. Legend has it the word "salmon" comes from the Latin word salmo or salire, which means "to leap". You could say I lept for joy at the sight of that option on the menu. The salmon was fantastic. Tasted like it was fresh out of Chasewater. I will be back for more fresh fish.

Couldn’t order off usual tbh so picked another local. Wasn’t as tasty and had to reheat as it wasn’t very warm but driver did apologise for the delay. No massive negatives just wasn’t as nice as our usual one

Food was late, we were given a delivery time 6.10-6.30 and it came, unfortunately it arrived too late for my daughter who had to leave for work! There was curry all over the bag, however the food was lovely, we order from here and go to eat in the restaurant, it we won’t be ordering for delivery again

There was rotten peppers in my husband curry and my chicken was to tough to eat. Really ruined our dinners won't be using spice lounge again and won't be recommending.

Love coming here. Not only is it my go to takeaway it’s always a good place to visit and have a meal. Take your own drinks if you wish and enjoy their lovely food. Never had a bad meal and the service is always warm, welcoming and certainly not slow.

Absolutely shocking. We normally use this indian regularly... Mix grill was dry, chokeably dry! Inedible. Chips were overcooked and cold. Was sent full fat coke (Diabetic) instead of diet, and when I was going to send it back, because I had already paid for it, they were just going to take it back and not refund it.

Ill start on a high as the food was quite tasty and served at the correct temperature. Thats where it ends.....Went on a recommendation but wish I hadnt. It should be a goldmine with 4 pubs in close proximity but the restaurant appears to be a run down "youth club" building. It was pretty empty and quite unappealing inside. The staff were totally indifferent and I felt our party were an inconvience to them and everything was too much trouble. Considering the lack of people in there, the service was appalling. The icing on the cake was our request of a jug of water for our party of 4 people was brought to the table with 3 glasses and a shrug of shoulders. We had to ask to order twice, extra menues twice and the bill twice. The one older guy who took out order was the only person who seemed as though he wanted to be there. Im sorry but considering the restaurant was empty, the other staff seemed totally uninterested and oblivious. With far, far better restaurants in the area there is no chance we will return. Your food is the only saving grace. Moostaman. Burntwood.

Delivery was 1 hour 30 mins after advising it would be 45 mins. Had stomach ache afterwards rice was swimming in water…avoid!

If you want a piping hot fresh and delicious curry then order from here. We love this place. We normally eat in and there is always a lovely friendly welcoming atmosphere, somehow they make the take always just as nice. We’ve pretty much tried everything on the starter menu and from the curry to the vindaloo never been disappointed, we can not recommend highly enough. Try it and you will never go anywhere else. Thank you spice lounge for such lovely food

It’s a shame that we need to do this as we regularly use the spice lounge to eat in but our first takeaway from there was nowhere the expected minimum standards required. Some of the food seemed like it was cooked yesterday especially naans chips and popadoms (very poor) and the vegetarian option of chilli paneer was just sweet chilli sauce and strips of paneer. Never mind we still have the king of spice our new eatery.

Awful standard of food, the onion bhajees where old and stale. The curry tasted of vinegar and the Nan bread was burnt. Wast of money.

Great hot food, best indian in Burntwood

This is my favourite place to get a takeaway from : the best Indian in Burntwood . Food is delivered hot , it’s good value and always tasty. I don’t eat in as I don’t like the layout of the restaurant - but I do really rate their food .

Normally great service, but food was over 2hrs late and had to ring multiple times to get the order. When the food did arrive it was cold. Will give it a miss next time.

Very strange and disappointing experience. Food was fine but possibly the worst service I have ever received in a restaurant. It took 3 hours in total for starters and mains, one meal was forgotten and was cooked after the rest were served. A 40 minute wait for the bill and on complaining about the poor service were advised that the manager had gone home. We paid slightly less than billed as compensation and were told by the chef to never come back! He needn’t worry about that…will not be returning or recommending to anyone. I suspect we won’t be alone as there were multiple unhappy customers this evening.

Have been going to the spice lounge for many years now, always had lovely evening and fabulous food, tonight, food was lovely as usual however the wait was huge!!! We seated at 6.30, not many others in, waited almost 30 mins to be offered poppadoms then almost 40 mins for order to be taken, food arrived at 8.30, although one meal hadn’t been cooked and several bits of our order had been missed. Asked for the bill at 8.55 still hadn’t had it by 9.40. Due to issues I asked for reduction in bill, this was agreed by the chef apparently as the manager had gone home!!!! Was told by waiter that chef said to never come back!!! Not a problem, so disappointed in the evening at what was one of my favourite places, I believe people were also complaining about the delays for their takeaway orders too, so sad, however how the ridiculous chef who told me not to come back would not know if I did as too ignorant to leave the kitchen to sort out issues. I however will not be going back, such a shame that bad service has tainted this place

Absolutely awful! 19:36 my order was confirmed by this restaurant! We waited 2 hours to get our food after being told it was a 45 mins for delivery! Not very sincere on the phone and just overall a poor service. No phone call to let us know that it would be late until I phoned and asked how much longer it would be. However delivery driver was lovely and did apologise and tell us they have been mega busy which we understand, however the communication from ordering to receiving the order was awful. Also we have some food issues that we will be taking up with the manager when he returns on shift tomorrow evening.

I have tried to contact u via email called the resterant 3 times got fobbed off 3 times its now over 2 hours since ordering and still no food

Possibly the oddest place I've ever been for a meal. It was like sitting in a community centre. There was a total lack of atmosphere and the toilets are a mess. As for the food, it took forever to come out and when it did it was tepid and tasteless. I've never has greasy rice before and never wish to have it again. I'm not to sure what I expected but with a 3 star food safety rating maybe I shouldn't have expected too much. Its safe to say I will not be returning.

Another lovely meal here earlier this month. Had methi ghust, delicious. Very tasty, flavoursome with fenugreek leaves. Easily the best meghi I have had.
