Just ordered and collected an order from this restaurant and have to say it was fantastic so felt wanted to review, even called the restaurant to tell them . Delicious and will def use again

We visited for a take away and it was beautiful!!!! The food was reasonably priced and the staff were very friendly. We were staying at drayton manor and visited here for our last supper and what an end to our holiday!!! Well done guys We were all very impressed with the service! We will be back

Great curry. Since there have been no recent reviews thought I would leave one. Had murgi massage and my partner had chicken balti. Being a regular curry lover I have to say this was one of the best curries we have ever had. Highly recommended. And the menus are not tatty too ...

Absolutely ripped off, late by 40 mins, all cold , several meals crushed, will never use again shocking behaviour expected better

Great food, wonderful staff, have been going here a number of years and would highly recommend. Food prices very reasonable, couldn't fault anything about the restaurant. Always made to feel welcome my husband doesn't like going to any other Indian restaurant but here. The restaurant isn't licensed but you're welcome to take your own drinks in which is good.

Just had a delivery via just eat - the whole order was covered in curry and completely inedible, when we called the restaurant they were the most unhelpful and gave us no solution for our food just that we would need to just reorder and wait again, after already waiting over an hour for food. All we got told was there not our drivers, not our problem just reorder and wait! So rude and terrible customer service! Never ordering from them again!!!

Sauce came separately as it should but not enough.

Having experienced the balti triangle in Birmingham this restaurants food left a bit to be desired,it wasn't bad but it wasn't what we expected

Delicious food hot tasty and fresh and fast delivery.

Lovely food. Had a starter and main course, with a couple of garlic naan. I was absolutely stuffed. Amazing flavours and cooked to perfection. NB. The restaurant is not licensed, so no alcohol, but, wasn't an issue as I don't often drink. You can bring your own, though, as I saw other patrons with wine.

Another perfect curry 4 people all had something different and all enjoyed I had lamb madras and it was the best I've ever had

Haven’t been to the Tusk for a few years due to moving away so we decided on a family meal there. It did not disappoint all 7 of us had a great meal, the service was great too.we’ll definitely will not leave so long Thank you 😊

Staying at Drayton Manor Campsite and ordered a delivery. Food was delivered within time stated and all arrived hot. Delivery driver rang to say arrived and was friendly. Food was absolutely lovely. Very tasty. Great portions. Thank you. If staying here again would definitely order from Ivory Tusk again.

Good experience yesterday. We celebrated my grandchildren birthday here the staff were friendly and helpful.

The best chicken Pathia I've ever tasted 5 Star. Me and a work mate have tried many Pathia curries have mine Madras hot. We both agree the best yet. Also top quality Garlic and Chilli nan.

Went for a meal there with my wife and very good friends, her sister and husband..Was greeted warmly and our table was clean and nicely laid out. Service was quick and efficient and the plates were hot (important to me ) just before the food was served.. All dishes were of excellent quality and we all agreed and had a taste of each others.. Afterwards, the plates were collected quickly but had no feeling of "hurry up" or anything like it..We were able to finish our drinks in a timely manner, which we took ourselves as they're not licensed (preferred)..The bill was very reasonable for four people with side orders too, about 15 pounds each !! Tamworth is not a huge cosmopolitan town and this restaurant is a quiet little gem, worthy of attendance by all who want great Indian cuisine..Will definitely be going again, love the place. Highly recommended (y)

Nice place to eat, not very much car parking space outside of the restaurant

I have been using this place for years!! Yesterday i spent 8.50 on a lamb tikka balti and 7.95 on a lamb madras. There was only one piece of lamb and I could eat. It was just hard gristle. It made me physically sick in the end and had to throw it away. Awful!! I wish there was a zero star option.

Not for the first time whether I collect or have meals delivered once again items missing. I phoned and the attitude was disgusting and then put the phone down rather than sort there mistake.

We had a great meal here, stopped for dinner on our trip through the Coventry canal. Good food and service. Highly recommended. Not licensed, but Tesco express two doors away and BYO welcome at the restaurant.

We visited the Ivory Tusk for a Birthday celebration. Overall the food was "OK" nothing special, but when we attempted to order dessert (there was a menu on the table thoughout) we were told they had only one dessert, just one for a group of five. Then came the bill, it was so expensive for what we had it was ridiculous, plus they expected a tip!! It's a shame, it could of been great but we just left feeling ripped off.

Christmas Day at Ivory Tusk didn’t disappoint. Service and food was excellent as always . Gill is always very welcoming and the lads are all very friendly. Our 4 meals were all very flavourful especially Chicken Pathia which is my personal favourite. Thank you all . We all Had a fabulous day dining in your restaurant. See you soon Mike & Sue xxx

Oh dear, after reading all the great reviews of this place I was left very disappointed. Booked a table for 2 and when we arrived it looked like total confusion we were actually there. The manners of the 2 older chaps at the counter was awful, when we were asked what we wanted to order, the man literally walked up to the table and all he said in a very abrupt manor was "YES" not even looking at us. The food was less than average all very bland and generic no unique taste to it, no one said have a nice night or anything like that when we left, just very rude yet again, this despite us just having paid £50 of our hard earned money for a sub standard meal. I would not recommend this place to anyone and will definitely not be returning,

I have been going to Ivory Tusk for years and was a special place to me and my partner. We treasure memories of our first dates, my daughter being born. However, we hadn't visited for a while and decided to treat ourselves last night. What has happened to the place! The menus are falling apart The seats are covered with seat covers that are ripped and torn. Lift the seat covers and you will find awful ripped to shred chairs They do not serve alcohol anymore. We got through the papadoms that were nice. Then it came to take our order. I ordered my starter and moved onto my main. The waiter rose his hand to me to be quiet and pointed to my partner to order his starter. I litterally got cut off mid order. It was embarressing, degrading, upsetting. He could have just said 'sorry just want to take starters first' instead of raising his hand to me like that. We left straight after ordering and decided not to wait for food. I couldn't believe it! I almost cried as I didn't know how to react. It's never happened to me before in any restaurant. That's a nice place gone down hill for me. It feels they just run around doing just eat orders. The restaurant needs to go. It's holding on by a thread and made a special place for me, a horrible ruined memory. Thank you Ivory Tusk for ruining my night and thank you Bhujon in Mere Green for being so accommodating lat minute and cheered up my night.

Ordered lamb dansak, cheaply made, cheap meat, used copious amounts of pineapple juice in the sauce which made it too sour and inedible. No spice, minimal lentils, not how a dansak should be. Called to complain to the restaurant to be told 'well that's how we cook it' 'have you eaten a dansak before' implying I do not know what it should taste like. Appalling customer service, appalling food do not waste your money. £33 for two people X1 starter x2 mains, X1 rice, X1 naan 3 poppadoms. Disgusting! Avoid if you want an authentic tasting curry

After being stuck up the corner and given 4 tatty menus. We ordered pomadoms and waited for our order to be taken, and waited, and waited. Then after ordering we waited again. We were then told the food took so long because the takeaway orders needed to be sent out!!!! What about your guests in the restaurant why to they come 2nd to a takeaway???? When the main meal arrived we wished it hadn’t it was vile. So spicy you actually couldn’t eat it and gloopy sauce that looked like something out of the toilet. The only good thing was the Naan. Couldn’t wait to pay the bill and get out(still very hungry). Then the final blow we paid cash and we should have received change but they kept it. No little chocolate no change nothing!!!! Well safe to say never going back there. Shame really as we road test these restaurants for a large dining club and could have given them a big boost to there business. Just shows you should treat every customer well cos you never know who’s coming through the door.

Great atmosphere, very welcoming, well taken care of and comfortable. Had starters, mains, and desserts, all excellent. The meat was flavourful and tender. The desserts were amazing. Would definitely go back. My new favourite.

We are vegetarian and ordered few vegetarian dishes. Dal and stuffed paratha was nice but other items were not upto the mark. Staff was very polite and generous. Toilets were clean but one can smell the moisture from an old building. Overall nice but I would rather go and look for other option first before going to this place.

Pleasant place to eat, a good menu, lovely food, pleasant helpful staff. We are able to take our own alcohol too. A great place to meet and relax with friends.

Best thing about the meal were the popadoms, which we clearly fresh. The curry itself was a bowl of soup with dried out chicken in it. Very disappointing. If you want to eat somewhere that does a better Indian meal in Fazeley walk round the corner to The Fazeley Park

I eat a lot of Indian food and most places are ok, well ivory tusk is the best Indian food around, me and my family know a good curry. The staff are very welcoming and the wait for food isn't long at all. The flavours in the food are out of this world. The smell is mouth watering. I have the chicken japuri and its just wow (sorry about the spelling). I would 100% recommend. The waiter Ali is so nice and welcoming. I have been a regular here now for at least 15 years and every time I try somewhere new, I just think why didn't I go here, where the the food is top quality.

They have changed their chicken. Cheap frozen chicken that when cooked is like chewing a brick. This ain’t a one off and has become consistent. Won’t be eating here anymore. Such a shame as it used to be ok and nice and was the only place in Tamworth that tasted nice. Also found a 2 hairs in the tikka.

Service was good. We are vegetarian. Chef doesn't know how to cook vegetarian dishes at all, starters, biryani and curry were tasteless, spineless. Will never go again.

We were regulars until Thursday 3/6/21..we ordered early as soon as they opened..chicken tikka Masalla and a chicken tikka main with a side of madras sauce ..absolutely vile re heated chicken..clear as day they just reheated the chicken from the previous evening..dry and off colour..business,s that think they are saving by giving people reheated garbage are in fact damaging their business..£25 every 1-2 weeks will be spent elsewhere..won’t be going back that’s for sure

My son ordered meal off them tonight through just eats, after 2hrs wait we called them, they said can't get in touch with their driver, rung them again and said the same, they then put it on just eats meal been delivered which it wasn't, now just eats saying can't refund us as restaurant put it as delivered, stay clear of this restaurant, I have put this on fb too, meal cost my son £27 which he's worked hard to earn

Do not visit and feel you can justifiably complain about meal as they do not want to know. I visited friday 30th oct 2020 with my family, my Daughter ordered Duck curry, the duck was disgusting very very tough, couldnt eat it so i complained , i asked to speak to manager who couldnt even be bothered to come and speak to me instead leaving it to a member of staff who was very abrute. I asked him what they were going to do about it and the reply was well duck is tough when cooked, well i can tell you its not if cooked correctly has i have had it many times. £10 for this curry and the meat was fit for my dog only. With the world situation and companies going bust you would think they would appriciate custom but im afraid the ivory tusk doesnt give a DAMN ABOUT CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. I would not recommend this restaurant at all, do not waste your money. If you want a nice curry go about six shops down from here to the Kudas restaurant. You will receive excellent customer service and enjoyable meal, The ivory tusk could learn alot from them. As you can imagine i will not be returning to Ivory tusk again and would not recommend. HORRID.

We visited for a weekday evening meal as a family of 4. The restaurant is close to Drayton Manor theme park, where we had visited, so was chosen mainly for its location. When we arrived the welcome was lovely and all the staff very friendly. The menu was varied and all the meals we ordered were cooked well, presented well and tasted great. Our meals were served at our table, rather than leaving for us to serve our own. Not sure if this is the usual practice or something to do with covid-19 rules, but either way it worked well. All the food was piping hot, tasty and value for money. Overall a pleasant evening with attentive staff and quality food. It seemed as if a few of the other customers were locals who the staff knew. Always a good sign.

When, in my view, a lot of restaurants are producing food that isn't as good as before lockdown, The Ivory Tusk seems to have raised its game. Great service, great food.

This indian restaurant always seems to be busy, which is a good thing. The food is lovely, never had a bad meal, it's our favorite restaurant to go to 🙂

This place is clean and busy and I would suggest a booking be made if you visit on a Friday. The staff are very friendly and a personal welcome is made for the regulars. One can take in ones own alcohol. Service is fast and is reasonably priced. My food was presented well but was not as physically hot as I would have expected. I thought the meal was a bit sweet. This meal catered for the locals. The chappattis were a little rubbery and tasted s bit sweet. The naans were well cooked but a bit doughy. Again the bread was not hot. The quantity of food was great and catered for my large appetite. This place would cater for a small office party.

This is a great place! This is our go-to curry place for me and my wife for a dinner out. Bring-your-own-drink is a winner, too. The food is always really good, with a varied menu, the service is attentive and the staff are happy to prepare food to your needs or advise on your selection. Case in point: we took our boys here after our 6y/o said he liked curry and naan from primary school... And we wanted to show him what the real deal was! The staff were so welcoming and even though our kids are quite new to eating out they were made to feel really at home. The waiter spent a good while helping us select a good taster menu for their little taste buds, and during the meal kept coming back to check we were OK. The verdict...? By three forkfuls in, the boys were shouting 'this food is so yummy I don't believe it!' Very happy to have an excuse to come here more often!

My family and I have been going here for years. Never had a problem, staff are friendly and food is always correct, hot and tasty. Portion sizes are huge and you can bring your own beer which is a bonus 😂🍻👍

We had visited the Ivory Tusk once the week before our visit on Friday and enjoyed the food. The last visit was not good.... we ordered a chicken tikka pathia, chicken tikka saag, garlic chicken bhuna and a tandoori chicken main - all to take away.What a disappointing meal. The pathia my partner ordered was just sweet but with little flavour. The chicken was unpleasant so much so, he left it. My daughter's bhuna was grease laden which she also found difficult to eat. Mine was the saag which was ok but the after effects for all of us were not good. We all tried the tandoori chicken which was more like the size of a sparrow, bit too spicy and very dry.We did call the restaurant who apologised and offered new food which to be honest, didn't really wash as we had gone for take away so after collecting and returning home to experience bad food to have to go out again wasn't appealing. To top it all off, two out of three of us had upset tums the day after so again an all over bad experience. Unfortunately we will be giving this place a very wide berth in future.

We had a family take away Friday was really looking forward to it but was very disappointed to be honest. My curry was swimming in grease, every mouthful I was having heart burn. My dads wasn’t anything like what he had ordered and was tasteless, was not edible he left all of it, also the chicken was scraps of chicken not pieces. Not impressed at all! Also we’ve all been ill!
