We’ve been a regular over the years. Always been impressed with it being a takeaway. Terrible. Moshori sauce like water. Sri Lanka sauce terrible. Chicken tikka tough. Must have changes hands. Won’t be back.

Not a regular but popped in here and have to say we’ve had first class meals. I’d usually go for a spicy curry but as on a slimming regime, I opted for a chicken tikka main. Have to say, best one I’ve had. Large crunchy salad, fresh raita and super tasty chicken without a smidgen of oil in sight. Husband and son had equally tremendous very tasty meals. This may now become our regular. Very friendly also.

Ordered a meal for me and my wife which cost a total of 35 pound. When it arrived ( warm ) the pizza i ordered was was not with the delivery driver. This is the second time in a row that this has happened and wont be going for the hattrick, because i will never order from Spice Junction again. This used to be a takeaway that i used regulary but not anymore.

We have used this place for years and we have noted that the food hygiene rating has increased to a 4. The food is usually very good and the onion bargis are to die for. Especially good value is the weeday specials from Monday to Wednesday

Find the food good and drlivery service is brilliant - specials Monday - Wednesday are great value so are the Sunday and Thursday ones

Used them for years to get a call this evening asking for my postcode as there online service did not save it so I gave them it to be told I need to pay the driver an extra quid that I do not have as im all digital and don't carry cash. The guy was ratty and said this is your 15th order at this address so I said yes but its never been a problem before and then he said also the number on the account is a mates . So I said no its my parents who also use my account and have done for years to be told they will let me off this time . I wouldn't care but the amount of times we have had missing items and just left it. Im fuming I will not be using them again really really bad customer service stay clear. :( so disappointed lovely food aswell

I orded poppadoms which was best part of meal. Cucumber rafi was mackstick cumuber in yought no taste unedible. Main was lamb goshti lamb was so dry you couldn't eat it. Contacted restaurant only offered discount on future orders which after tonight food wouldn't order no refund offered extremely disappointing

Looking at the reviews I was very shocked. I have been using Spice Junction for around easily 5 years now. I've never ever had any problems with my orders, food tastes amazing, delivery is super quick compared to most and the prices are spot on compared to most Indian takeaways. Delivery is very cheap too considering most places charge £3-£5 which is just extortionate in my opinion. Highly recommend the Thursday and Sunday banquet meals as you get more food than 99% of other takeaways. Highly recommend.

Decent Indian - well worth getting the Tali deal which is great value for money. Hasn't let us down yet.

I ordered from Spice Junction for the first time last Sunday and the food was delicious. I’ve just placed my second order and this is fast becoming our favourite Indian takeaway. The masala is so tasty and creamy and the choice of dishes fantastic. Everything was so nice from the starters to the mains and delivery was very quick for a Sunday night. This time I’ve ordered online for collection and the website was so easy to order from. Can’t wait to try the food again. 5*****

Used this place almost every other week since I received a recommendation from a friend in 2011. Last three meals were poor. Cold, missing items and not of the same quality. I called and complained and I was kindly offered half price meal with my next order. However A bad meal is a bad meal regardless of cost. There is so much competition in Whitley Bay you can’t afford let standards slip to there levels. Such a shame, I recommend this place to all my fiends and I know they used the place. The few that I have spoken to have all arrived at the same conclusion.

We have used this take away for many years now but our last visit was disappointing. The quality of food wasn’t good. We only had a couple of starters and a Naan Bread. One of the starters was prawn on puri - the puri was over done. We had garlic naan and the garlic consisted of a thick layer of garlic paste which was awful.

Quite a nice little decent takeaway. Food of decent quality and average price range in comparison to other similar outlets.

Don't bother, food good on arrival. Tasteless bland curry, cold greasy pizza and an undercooked naan which was covered in oily raw garlic, completely overpowering and inedible.

I have been a loyal customer to Spice Junction for well over 3 years and iv have had amazing food time and time again.... until last Wednesday the 30th of January 2019 We order the same meal time and time again without any issues or changes and have been very happy for so long, however on this night there was not the usual person on the phone or in the kitchen and it all began to go pear shaped! the food was not as we normally have, the spice asked for was not there and the request to not pile an abundance of chips over the kebab box was dismissed. I felt it best to call up to advise of this as the missus did not like the food we received. After a phone call to advise on this, I was informed that the chef was not the usual one, so I asked to speak to him and was rudely spoken to and told that “what’s the point in sending out the meal again as it would be exactly the same!” I asked to speak to the owner and he snapped back saying he was the owner. Now ive spoke to the owner before a very pleasant man and friendly, this was not him! He did however offer me a refund however I would have to go to the establishment to receive this as he would not refund over the phone in the way he was happy to receive my money. By this point he told me he was far to busy to deal with me and hung up. I waited about 5 mins and called back to speak to the nice lady on the other end who clarified that his guy was not the owner. Now I hate writing a bad review, however out of respect for the actual owner I would like them to know what service is being put out while they are not there. As a long-standing customer, I didn’t want to write a review for the food, as for years this has been perfect, this unfortunate review is purely out of frustration and disappointment from last week and the way I was spoken too. I did not visit the establishment that night as we were unable to drive, and I still have not received a call or a refund. I would be happy to discuss this with the owner to let them know.

Shocking service, no food after waiting for nearly an hour. Asked for money back, haven’t paid it. Had to report to bank fraud to get payment cancelled. Avoid at all costs!

I was walking past and seen a meal box poster so I thought I would give it a try and believe me it was the best Indian I have had in years, bhona sauce was to die for and chilli chips are yum, I will defo be back.

Got takeaway curries from here and they were lovely - very flavoursome. They are on the hot side for each dish - the jalfrezi was hotter than found at other local curry houses. The service was friendly and prompt. We will be coming here again.

This is no frills Indian takeaway as you remember it from the old days - which isn't necessarily saying a bad thing, depends what you are after!

Well what can I say this is a place I have used and recommended loads of people to use bit when it comes to the point of it just getting nothing right then it's just a joke as times the curry has that much oil in it am scared that the use will invade.

Chicken tikka masala pizza is just amazing. Highly recommended. Pizza was cooked to perfection and the masala on top was just right. Will be back soon

Fair priced takeaway, always quick service. Food can be hit and miss but can't really complain for price.

El curry que elegí era muy agradable, era el pollo tikka especial y sabrosa y una razonable de calor. El kebab no era un parche en nuestro lugar habitual, que especifica una gran kebab pero era pequeña. La pizza no llega con pedir la principal entrega y tuvimos que esperar a que este llegue a un momento posterior. Ordenamos una boloñesa y cuando llegue tenía pimientos dulces mezcladas con la salsa boloñesa, que no fue especificado y la persona tiene una reacción de comer a estos. El cruce dio un reembolso cuando las especias Llamé a protestar, así que tuvimos que pedir otra a un proveedor diferente tomando otra hora.

Mi marido y yo acabamos de regresar de las mejores vacaciones. Puro lujo de lujo. Colección en coche privado desde el aeropuerto al hotel. Champán y bombones a la llegada en recepción. Preciosa habitación. Flores frescas y una botella de vino en nuestra habitación/suite. Nevera abastecida con la cervezas licores pequeñas patatas fritas refrescos y aperitivos. Re surtido. Un menú a la carta en el restaurante para el desayuno acompañado por una señora tocando el arpa. Qué gran manera de empezar el día! El personal de todos los departamentos absolutamente maravilloso y amable. El ambiente era totalmente relajante. Tan limpio. Los jardines, las piscinas y la playa eran tan privado. Hermosa de palmeras y vistas impresionantes al paisaje. Ojalá que estuvimos allí ahora. Un sueño de unas vacaciones realmente. Más de 5 estrellas. Sería sin duda recomiendo este hotel. Este tiene una llevar comida estándar 5 estrellas clasificado. Al entrar en el llevar está limpio. Compañero y yo elegimos los días especiales (véase la página web para menú completo) el papel que entregaba el menú está bien distribuido y tiene un llamativo color y font. Toda la experiencia fue excelente. Las raciones son 'Geordie' tamaño así que nos quedamos impresionados.

Recibió dos pizzas desde aquí. Mi compañero estaba comiendo su pizza y parado como ella encontró pelo en su pizza. Llamé al servicio de atención al cliente tienda y hay era espantosa y se negaron a hacer nada. Persona en el telefono no era molestado....

Firstly the positives: excellent delivery service, within the time allocated and a friendly driver. Sadly the food was poor, overly sweetened and quite greasy. Expensive too as takeaways go, won't use again.

Been using Spice Junction for about 4 years, consistently good standard of food and usually in the time predicted.

We regularly order food from the Spice Junction but after last night we will never go there again. We ordered food for 5 people only to find two of the main curry dishes were missing. I rang them immediately and they promised to send the two dishes straight away. We waited nearly an hour after having to ring them twice, they didn't seem bothered at all. I was just about to go down to complain and demand my money back when it arrived. Unfortunately they delivered a chicken curry instead of a lamb curry. Also when they had delivered the first lot of food there was a very strong smell of garlic, we discovered why later on when we attempted to eat the garlic nan bread. A thick layer of garlic paste had been spread on one side and then folded over, it was revolting and had to be thrown in the outside bin before it stunk the house out.

I tried this place for the first time in Feb 2016. They do a great value special menu Monday to Wednesday so my son and I tried it. The food was spot on. It is really spicy. I like Madras and this one is more spicy than usual but so so tasty. My son loved his onion bhajis and tikka mossala too. The man who took our order was friendly too. We will definitely be back - tonight in fact!It really is the best takeaway I have found since the Romna shut down!Thank you.

Like most people we have our own favourite Indian restaurants and take-aways. But after getting off the metro on a cold damp evening on impulse we decided to order on our way home. We waited for our order and in less than 10 minutes it was ready. We were both delighted with the flavour of our meals, Balti and Dhansak, and the amount of chicken in each portion. We will definitely be ordering from here again.

We have used this very good take away for many years, always had good food, only downside was new years eve when we received an added main course,; we are both veggies and they sent a chicken tikka as well and we were charged for it as my other half did not realise and just the thought the prices had gone up, when we contacted them they apologised and offered to take off the cost from our next order and true to word we got this on Friday with £6 off; food always hot and delivered before stated time, good service and great veggie choice.

We began by using the Spice Junction by default several months ago. We have a regular get together to with friends every Friday and have used them ever since. We have had no issues at all with delivery times. They are either on time or early, never had to wait. The food is first class. We normally order for about 7 of us and we all have varied tastes. The nice thing is that every dish has an individual taste. We've use several take always locally and to be honest the taste is all the same. You order a balti or madras and the colour texture and taste is the same. Spice junction is the opposite. Taste is unique and flavoured according to taste. Tonight we decided after the Christmas excess to order from the SJ. I decided on the pizza. Yes I know, a little unusual but thought I'd give it a go. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Chatt with extra chilli. WOW. It was fantastic. Thin crust, loaded with tasty toppings. There was little to no crust, all topping. The chicken was succulent, great sauce and a fab kick of chilli. My other half had the Onion Bahji and Chicken Tikka. Tasty from start to finish. We have used most of the Indian restaurants and take always in Whitley over the years, but I must say this beats them all by a country mile.

Utterly disgraceful, with an absolute lack of quality customer service. Delivery took over an hour, when arrived the driver explained the order was cold. We requested warm food, and after no communication, we called an hour and a half later asking where the order was. The order had not redone, nor was it to be redelivered. Moreover, the manager was rude, unhelpful, and we were asked to pay for food we never received. My advice is to order elsewhere.

Best chicken tikka masala! Big chunky chips that are amazing! Would recommend! They do a great set menu midweek that's really glad value for money

The food is always amazing from here, me and my partner absolutely love it, the chicken tikka pizzas are to die for, wouldn't go anywhere else!

We have a takeaway most weeks from this particular establishment. Felt I should write a review given some of the mixed feedback on the site. We collect our order so cannot comment on the delivery service - but the quality of all dishes we have had has always been excellent and the service friendly and punctual

We ordered our takeaway at 7.00pm to be delivered at 8.45pm did not arrive until 9.30 ! Then when the take away arrived the chips were soggy and cold as were the poppadoms , onion Bhajis and nan breads ! Absolutely terrible ! The curry was not packed properly so it has leaked all over the bag and the rest of our order. And to make things better when the food was delivered the delivery man had a cigarette in his hand when holding our bag of food then placed it in his mouth before handing our food over. Utterly disappointed with the service will never be going back there again!!!

We have been using this takeaway for a few years now and we're never disappointed, we usually collect the food, and when we place our order by phone the staff always know it's us, I flags up on their computer I guess, the food is nearly always ready and waiting for us, occasionally it's 10 or so minutes late but it's worth the wait!

If i struggle getting out and i require a delivery i always choose Spice Junction as there is a nice varied selection of dishes on the menu and cooked with quality ingredients.The delivery times are good and often arrive before the set time.

Felt compelled to give a review as use regularly and have never had a bad meal. Food always good and have never had any mistakes. Peshwari nans lovely and chicken tikka always big chunky pieces. No complaints from us

I have been a regular customer of spice junction since it opened................but not anymore!!!!! Last 3 experiences have got progressively worse, from a freezing cold food delivery, to food missing, and then finally the straw that broke the camels back. Ordered a meal on Wednesday night, guy on the phone takes my card details for payment and advises 45 mins for delivery. 45 mins later he calls me to advise my card has not gone through and he will need to take payment again, but will be another 45 mins to an hour for delivery........ What, is this a joke?? 10 mins later phone rings again to advise me card still not gone through so details given for 3rd time. Had a feeling something was wrong so checked by bank, low and behold 2 x payments taken from my bank despite being told payment had not gone through!!!!! Called the shop to ask what the hell was going on and was met with nothing but attitude.from guy on the phone, no apology just told meal will still be 45 mins and boss will call me tomorrow to refuned me the over payment.......... Is it really that difficult to use a card machine!! Food eventually arrives 2 hours after originally ordered it and what a surprise it's cold......but so hungry by then I just need to eat! Next day no call from the boss as promised so I had to call, once again met with absolutley no interest from him regarding my terrible experience , just told driver will drop off the money I am owed within the next hour. As a small local business you really need to take care of your regular customers because these are your bread and butter, and a bad reputation will cost you dearly. I will never use you again in my life and I have already informed all my friends and colleagues of what a terrible customer experience I had, these are the same people I recommefed you too in the first place. And on another note, I wonder if your customers know that when you take card payments over the phone you don't put them straight through, you actually write them down on a order pad and put the payment through after the call........... My question is what do you do with those customers card details, are these securely desposed off via a shredder or simply thrown in the bin for any Tom, dick or Harry to come across in the binsSo in summary, great food when it's hot, but absoluktley shocking customer service/experience.

Ordered family meal at 7.10pm still hadnt arrived 9pm. Rang up 4 times staff muttered on phone ... be there shortly absolutely disgraceful service ...dont order from here

I have used this takaway many times, ordering their Madras Pizza. Until now they have been excelent valuse and quality. I say until now because I've have one with the most disgusting chicken on it, they must have used all the scrap fatty chewy bits and even had a piece of bone thrown in for good measure. Needless to say I won't be back for a long time

Excellent Starters, great mains, Will make any curry for you as hot as you want!! If you want a good curry at a good price this is the place to go!! Best in Whitley Bay I think

We are regular users of this takeaway, and while there is variability in the food, it is always good. Prompt delivery - although they always say 40 minutes, it's often 20. Good value for money.

I first tried this takeout about a year ago. It's conveniently housed in Monkseaton Metro Station and so handy for my daily commute. The first time the food was all hot and fresh but a typical Jalfrezi was doesed with quarter chilli peppers making it impossible for me to eat. Even my wife who has an asbestos mouth had difficulty. A year on i decided to try again. I again order a Tikka Wrap and a Paneer Jalfrezi which I specifically requested as it wasn't on the menu. The food was delivered quick enough but that's where the positives end. My wife's a vegetarian and what I'd been provided with was a Prawn and not a Paneer Jalfrezi meaning my wife couldn't eat it. I tried it and like a year ago the spicy heat nearly blew my head off. Jalfrezi should be mild and again laced with chilli peppers!! My wrap contained plenty of meat but it was very dry. Yes i could've rang and advised I had the wrong meal but I'm always wary of doing this. I'll just learn a lesson and move on to the next Indian Restaurant. Spoiled for choice in Whitley Bay.
