Great ambience, and excellent service from Hassan and colleagues. Perfect food, beautifully served. I enjoyed the amazing Tandori Lamb Chops, served sizzling, whilst my companion loved the Rogan Josh. All courses were lovely as was the attentive service. Great value too. Thank you!

We visited the Spice House after a recommendation from a friend in a local curry club. I got to say we we not disappointed, in fact we were blown away by the quality of the food and the service. The waiter asked us what kind of thing we liked and made recommendations tbywe decided to follow. AMAZING 👏. If you love great food, fresh ingredients and ideas, good service, then just go here. Apparently the team here now are quite new (few months I believe) so go with fresh eyes. We will be going back for sure.

Myself and 3 friends were looking to eat at one of the 3 Indian restaurants in Gloucester Street one evening in March 2022 and we're enticed into the Spice House by a really lovely friendly waiter who told us the food was really good and he was right. I had vegetable balti which was delicious and my friends also really enjoyed their food. Because we'd had such a good time we decided to go again in April 2022 but the experience could not have been more different. A really surly man told us to sit and wait, we didn't know why as there were several tables already set. He then set up a table for us, gave us a menu and then proceeded to ignore us for around 20 minutes. No drinks offered, no explanation offered that perhaps they were busy or short staffed, just total disregard. We eventually got fed up and walked out.

Met up with friends at The Spice House on a sleepy Thursday in Stroud. Thoroughly enjoyed the food, but what really set the place apart was the service - Ayman looked after us from start to finish, and his relaxed yet knowledgeable approach made us feel right at home. Get yourself down there, you won't regret it!

Arrived late because “they were too busy” by the managers own admission. Food was also cold on arrival. Manager refused refund. No excuse for the rudeness and unwillingness to help by the manager. The driver however was excellent.

Naan bread was flaccid and had no coconut.

Waited over 2 and a half hours from initial order was over an hour late after time given for arrival not good

Driver had to call for instructions to the address so delivery slightly late but wouldn't mark them down for this! Very polite driver!

We have had a lot of takeaways from the Spice House over the last year but unfortunately the food went downhill and we have stopped and haven’t had one for several months. But tonight we thought we would give them another try . Unfortunately the food was just as bad as we remember . The starter of chicken tikka tasted old and had an insipid taste to it and we couldn’t eat it as worried about getting an upset tummy.The salad looked brown and old and we couldn’t eat that either,all was all inedible as was the keema naan which was hard and had obviously been microwaved and the meat inside tasted like it had gone off.The Currys we ok but nothing special.We will not be ordering anymore food from this restaurant so our is recommendation is... Do not order a take away from this restaurant.

Hmm, Bombay potatoes were under cooked, the plain boiled rice, was watery, and the lamb was in edible, tough grizzle, didn’t even feel comfortable giving it to the dog! Never eat here, go further a field, or opt for a Chinese.

Wide ranging menu and all the menu options our group chose were excellent.My choice was tandoori chicken and meat somosa as starters followed by lamb vindaloo and sag allo.Portions were very generous and had a job to clear the plate ! Main point was that the food was genuinely tasty and obviously freshly prepared. .Loads of bottled water with ice and you can take your own bottle at a £2.00 corkage charge,which all of our group individually did so no problems there.. And the cost ? Less than eighteen pounds.Terrific value for money and linked with quick efficient and friendly service,repeat visits are definitely on the cards.

The good thing about my order was that it was delivered quickly, arriving about 15 minutes before estimated delivery time. However - the food was all ridiculously oily. I feel strongly that serving up greasy curries is unnecessary and lazy, it's perfectly possible to create beautiful curries with subtle flavours and spices in each individual dish. Chicken Dansak - very little flavour and way too much heat. I'm a real lover of this dish, have been cooking it at home for years from scratch so I know what a good Dansak should taste like. This was practically inedible due to heat, very oily, no discernible flavour. Chicken Tikka Masala - OK. Not the worst I've ever had but far from the best. Stuffed Paratha - again a massive disappointment. Doughy, claggy texture with no real flavour. Peshwari Naan - pretty good, no complaints. Pilau rice - dry, and I suspect not freshly cooked. Chips - dreadful. Nasty greasy mess dripping through the bottom of the bag which didn't bode well. Under cooked and I've never had chips so greasy, I suspect oil too low a temperature and definitely not drained properly post frying. Overall I was really disappointed, about half of this ended up in the bin making it an expensive waste of money. I'll be going back to collecting from Bath Rd.

AVOID.. I normally like this place and always say i would order again but the "boss" changed my mind tonight. 40 minutes late delivered, no phone call, no text, no apolgy and no resolution at all. We normally oder around £100 a month but now we will take our money elsewhere. And when i later called " the boss" again he was "too busy delivering and can't talk"... very helpful NOT

Ordered a meal for a birthday celebration and it turned up nearly an hour late! Then after serving, we discovered some main meals were missing from the order! We rang the restaurant to find out what happened and we were told that we had to go to the restaurant to pick it up if we wanted the rest of our food! We explained that we had paid for home delivery and that it should be brought to us, the finally agreed to this. Then another hour later, the food returns but it was barely warm! Not acceptable! We then requested a refund for all the hassle caused, but were told the manager was away and they couldn't do anything! Never using Spice House again!

Delivered In 35 Mins which was excellent. The food was hot and fresh and really tasty. A really good selection on the menu so something for everyone. Very good would certainly recommend.

Unfortunately food was 40mins late & had clearly been on its way to us for a long time as the driver had a number of stops before us. Food very good though.

This was the first time we'd ordered from The Spice House and although I could not get the website order system to work, a quick phone call and payment over the phone later and we were ready and waiting. Were told the eta was around 45 minutes but we received our delivery well within 30 minutes. The food was absolutely delicious and everyone really enjoyed it, we were all totally stuffed at the end. We will have no hesitation to order again in the future or recommend.

Great food as always, however slightly unprofessional customer service skills. The driver was complaining to me how I ordered for delivery after 9.30pm however there is no mention of this on their Just Eat profile. As a manager of a particularly well known pizza delivery company I would never complain to any of my customers under any circumstances. If they didn't want to deliver they should have called me, not make me feel at fault for ordering at an inconvenient time for them.

Quick delivery and the food was sooo good!

The food was delivered amazingly fast so that was a good start. However, I ordered 2 Raita at £3.00 each and when I opened them, they were literally just plain yoghurt ! No spices, no cucumber no mint, no nothing. I rang the restaurant and they just blagged me off, saying that some people prefer it plain. ? ? I've been eating Indian food for over 35 years now so I'm not the one to mug off on the subject. I'll never use them again, stick with the Tudor Tandoori in Stonehouse, they are top quality ! !

Disappointed as usually good food... And it was late!

Over an hour late. Couldn't get through to restaurant. Delivery driver didn't call and gave up. Finally got through to restaurant and they were very rude to my wife. Accused us of not picking up my phone, which didn't ring and blamed us for holding up their other orders. Service laughable. Said they would speak to driver when he got back and call us regarding a refund / discount but surprise, surprise not heard from them. Last time we order from this crowd. 😠

Absolutely gorgeous meal. The onion bhaji's were the best I've tasted. The Pasanda and Korma (regular curry not Tikka) were both mild and extremely taste. Will definitely order again. Thank you very much Lorna

Popadoms were put underneath the Nan bread and were completely soft and not very nice to eat. Curry its self was delishious, especially the tandoori chicken

I order the same thing regularly and have always been well pleased with food quality . The keema nan was good, the main meal, although well cooked, however, lacked taste and seasoning. My girlfriend also thought her food bland and needed seasoning-a first for her.

I would have given a higher rating but had to reheat the meal. The bombay aloo was very good. The rice was properly cooked. I felt the Tawa was good but could have been better.
