Spice Exchange in Stoke-on-Trent

Lovely food but service is slow, been a few times and I feel like they don’t take your food order very quick so you keep ordering drinks was there for an hour before our order was taken and we had to ask

Came for some food with the lads . A good 20 of us for 7:30 got the food 2 hours later all came out at different times , didn’t no who had What .. had to go kfc on way home For a bargain bucket as I was that hungry after the tiny portions from spice exchange… won’t be visiting any time soon

Avoid! Got locked in the toilet no door handles and no one to help, told management after and didn’t care. then to add to the disappointment a Terrible service all meals coming out separately an took over 2hrs

This is our family’s all time favourite Indian restaurant! We drive 10 miles to come here regularly, it’s that good. We brought my mother in law, who is visiting from abroad on Saturday, and she loved it too 😊The menu is different from all the other Indian restaurants, but the usual favourites are available too. Everything, from the staff to the popadoms is just classier than anywhere else we’ve ever tried, and we’ve tried a lot! Try it, you’ll be back 😋

I went off grid this time and tried something new. Best curry in UK so far. It was off the scale brilliant

Havnt been here for 10years what a lot of good food I have missed. We had the early bird menu. What a bargain and such delicious food. Everything was perfection. Friendly staff couldn't do enough for us. I will certainly be returning but will be a lot quicker than 10 years ! I intend using it as me regular Indian resteraunt from now on. They have kept their prices down and it shows by the number of customers there on a weekday night. Well done to the Spice Exchange xx

This was our second attempt at dining here. Our first experience we arrived at our pre-booked time, 30 mins later we still weren’t seated and they just kept saying 5 more minutes so we decided to leave. Our second attempt yesterday, we were seated after a short wait as they served everyone at the bar first, to be seated in the middle of a party where we couldn’t hear ourselves think. We asked if we could be seated elsewhere due to the noise and people congregating around our table, where the staff did say themselves they shouldn’t have really sat us there, to not be given an alternative (even though there were other empty tables on our arrival) so again, after drinks we decided to leave. I don’t think we’ll attempt third time lucky. A shame as the food is great.

Service was Great...lovely guys! Very friendly. Atmosphere was good, very comfortable and relaxing. The food tasted lovely, also everyone that was with us all said the same but we just didn't feel the quantity was as much as we remember it to be since our last visit, also agreed by our friends too. I know cost of living has risen but so have the prices, so I would have still expected the same quantity. Still would highly recommend as the food and selection of dishes are great.

Can not fault the food an the staff me an my partner visit here at least once maybe twice a month an never had a bad meal service is great an the staff are friendly

Me and a friend had a meal on Christmas day at the Spice Exchange. It was an excellant meal and the staff were friendly and polite. Will be visiting there again.

New Years Eve meal out with family, all top notch great food service and nice relaxed atmosphere too. Great night.

I was there as part of a group for a Work Team Christmas meal. The food was excellent and table service was good. (Even better value for us as The Boss unexpectedly picked up the bill. Thanks Sharon!) Edit: I wasn't sure when answering the questions but I do remember seeing signs saying they deliver.

I've eaten in and had takeaway both are very good, friendly staff and a chilled out atmosphere

This was my first time eating in this place and I was at first apprehensive due to trying somewhere new. I ordered the grilled salmon and vegetable rice with extra spinach... Absolutely amazing for you fish fans out there. Great venue as well so try it if you're around.

Ordered takeaway, it was ready in 15mins and once we got it home we tucked in an Omg it was amazing 🤩

Absolutely fantastic staff couldnt do enough for you. As a table of ten we all had our main meals together , gorgeous food so so good . We were given as much time as needed between courses. The food being amazing carnt express enough how fab it was . Highly recommend , have been a few times but always so so good . Fabulous ambiance . You need to taste to believe it !!!! Starter was beaut but sorry the chicken masalla was like tomato soup ...on the waiter asking was the food ok i mentioned this and he said "thanku lady" i.m.guessin his english is limited

Great place for an amazing curry

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Spice Exchange Indian restaurant in Milton, and I must say it was an outstanding experience! The food was absolutely delectable, bursting with authentic flavors that truly transported my taste buds to India. Every dish we ordered was a masterpiece, showcasing the chef's expertise and dedication to quality. Not only was the food exceptional, but the staff's service was also top-notch. Mo and the rest of the team went above and beyond to make our dining experience memorable. They catered to our party of 18 during a special event, ensuring that every detail was taken care of. The food was served promptly and efficiently, and the staff's attention to our needs was truly commendable.

We have eaten at this restaurant many times in the past however this was not one of our best visits. The service was incredibly slow. We sat for ages and weren’t given menus or offered drinks. We went to get our own menus in the end! The poppadums were stale. When we came to pay we were told the card machine was broken and it would have to be cash or bank transfer which was a little inconvenient!

So slow…..there did not seem to be enough people working to be able to cope with the number of guests. 25 mins from sitting down to taking the drinks order and a further 5-10 mins for them to arrive. A further 10 mins to take dinner orders. When it came it was tasty and fresh.

Lovely food and staff were very efficient. The only criticism is there wasn't a lot of chicken in the chicken masalla but lots of sauce. Love the interior and atmosphere.

Turned up with 7 Christian blokes for a good curry and we were not disappointed. Excellent food and service. Even the punkys were a treat. Superb all round

Consistently good food. Always eat in bmnvwr tried take away. I could honestly let someone pick my food for me. I'd enjoy every single meal on that menu. I've tried most.

First time in spice exchange. There was a error on the website about meal deal but spice held up their hands and produced a meal that was out of this world tasty with a delicious light spice we have been to many curry houses and will definitely be a regular customer at this establishment

We came here for the 1st time on recommendation from a colleague. It didn’t disappoint. This was the nicest Indian meal that we’ve had out for a very long time. The atmosphere was friendly and relaxed, the waiters were polite and were happy to talk to us about the dishes. Would highly recommend and we’ll definitely make a return visit. Utterly delicious.

Our second visit to this restaurant, on this occasion a Friday night. Extremely busy especially with take away orders (we were a sit down family of 13). The service was a tad slow under the circumstances however this was handled well and more than acceptable. Great food, good service under pressure (credit to the young waiters). The owner takes great pride in his restaurant and business which is obvious we look forward to returning. Oh, value for money.

Warm welcome. Excellent service very attentive. Now to the food 😋 omg amazing. the platter starter you need to try 😋 presentation was elegant and pleasing to the eye. The main course didn't disappointment The value for money Wow, you will return.

The only photo I managed to take because when the food arrived we just wanted to eat it! The smell was amazing. Well presented. Tastes even better than it looks. Staff are really friendly and welcoming. We shared three main courses between 3 of us and had two rice dishes and two naan bread. The amount we had was just right. We finished off with two Irish coffees and a desert. I always fancy a desert but when it arrives it’s always too much. This was simple, well presented and just the right amount after a lovey meal. We’ll recommend to friends and family and return in the future

Lovely food and staff, had a complimentary shot of whiskey and the manager took our address so he could send us a christmas card. Chicken tikka mossalla was delicious. 10/10

Not long moved to the area and The Spice Exchange was recommended to me (as a takeaway) I have to say it was probably the best food I’ve tasted and without any doubts I will be ordering again and also eating in the restaurant. If I could give them 10 stars I would have.

We have only dined at the Spice Exchange in Milton three times and each time the food and service were excellent, the staff are very friendly too. We will definitely be going again and again.

First time trying this restaurant and I have to say I was very impressed the food was gorgeous even though we had to wait awhile, the restaurant was busy. The waiter / waitresses were very attentive, lovely atmosphere. Will definitely go back.

Living locally to the restaurant I have used the Spice Exchange on numerous occasions overs the years. I visited at 1900hrs on Saturday 17th September 2022 to celebrate my 34th wedding anniversary. Our group comprised 8 adults. We were seated promptly at 1900hrs and ordered drinks and poppadoms. The drinks service was sporadic requiring us to constantly case missed drinks. We were unable to order our meals until 1950hrs. The meals again arrived sporadically with orders being missed despite us telling staff that we were missing food. The soft drinks were flat requiring me to send mine back to the bar. No replacement drink supplied and after 15 minutes my wife had to chase this up at the bar. The food once out was lovely. I noticed a huge queue of people standing near the bar awaiting takeaway orders. Once our meal was done we waited an age for the bill. On previous visits we have been provided warm towels and complimentary drinks. Not this time. The waitress staff were sadly below par and upon speaking with the manager he said that they were short on staff. The service was terrible. Perhaps management should decide whether to prioritise the restaurant or the takeaway. Sadly I shall no be returning.

Having been let down elsewhere, we dropped into Spice Exchange on the off chance of a table for two. The restaurant was already busy for a Thursday at 7 pm yet the staff accommodated us with patience and a smile. The meal was delicious!! Fresh hot and full of flavour. Even though the staff were run off their feet, at the end of our meal they surprised us with a birthday treat, I'd only mentioned, that I was pleased to get the table, as there was a birthday girl amongst us when sitting down! It's so rare to get good service and a fab meal combined!! We will definitely return, with friends. Thankyou. 🍛

Just had the best takeaway Indian meal ever, dined in before but never had a takeaway, it was fabulous and the Bhukari nann are by far the nicest we have ever tasted, would definitely recommend.

Food OK drinks are a little pricey

This is my favourite Indian restaurant ever! The food is amazing, I highly recommend the sharing starter as the salmon on the sharer is phenomenal! The staff ate so friendly and welcoming and will always go out of their way to make sure you've enjoyed your meals and drinks. I rave about this place a lot and recommend to everyone. A must try if you're in Stoke.

Visit monthly with a group of friends. Excellent food and service. Varried menu. Good parking. Professional and friendly staff. My only disappointment is I was recently informed that staff do not benifit from any tips, we have always left a minimum of 15% of our bill.

Excellent curry (probably one of the best in stoke) and really tasty nan bread. Nothing beats placing an order for collection on a Friday, then nipping in early for a cheeky pint while you wait and then nipping home to biryani and garlic nan.

Sunny is a family friend and whenever we go the spice exchange the staff are extremely attentive. The food never fails, tasty, well prepared, well presented and the menu has so much more range and flavour than the average curry/Indian restaurant. Really great food and great service.

Fantastic customer service I accidentally ordered collection thinking it was delivery, the restaurant rang me to say my collection was ready 🤦‍♀️ I explained I couldn't drive to collect and one of the waiters dropped it off to me, not many restaurants would go out there way like this, food was amazing as ever! Just been for a takeaway. What has happened to the place????? The food was awful, both curries were watery with no taste at all. They both resembled a tasteless stew rather than a curry, and the plates were swimming in grease. Tried to call to complain but this fell on deaf ears. In its height there was nowhere locally that rivalled this place, yet now it is a huge disappointment. Such a shame.

My Girlfriend Kathleen and I had a couple of takeaways from here last night. We are very fussy as we like our currys and eat alot of them. We explained what we wanted .No sugar as I am diabetic. Spicy for me .Milder my girlfriend . I had king prawn Kahrari. She had chicken Mabuna. They were bang on. Lots of spices and flavour.

First time that I have visited Spice Exchange and it won't be the last. The food and service were excellent, if you require the food to be more or less spicy they will cook your meal to your personal taste, brilliant. 👍

This was our 3rd visit here our first was a Saturday night and it was excellent food and service our second was in the week as they do a special early bird menu MON - THURS the waiter dropped the spoon on the floor and no one cleaned up the curry despite my telling them twice in case someone slipped,the service was no where near as good in the week and I could see into the kitchen and the chefs were smoking over the cookers while cooking.And when I got up too leave I got into the car too go home I had curry spattered all down my cream dress and over my bag from the dropped spoon.Our 3rd visit was a thurs 16/09.it was my birthday so we decided too go for the early bird we sat down and the waiter gave us the menus we were the only people in there.I asked for the early bird menu and he said oh no we only do that on a SUN and WED he blatantly lied too us so we got up and left.I don’t like someone lying too people he could of made some money but I won’t spend it where people lie.And I immediately checked the website and it is MON-THURS until 7.30pm shame as I won’t return.

5 star's restaurant in town. Amazing food and extremely polite customer service.

Excellent restaurant, the house specials are unique and are a delightful change from the standard Indian fare. Despite staffing problems caused by the pandemic, the service being a little slower than on previous visits, this did not have any impact on the evening. In fact the staff were exceptionally attentive, which helped to create a lovely atmosphere and experience. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

We visited at 7pm on 1st September for my wife's birthday as a family of 4 and had a lovely 3 course meal and a couple of drinks and had a great time. Its a while since we've been however the food was beautiful and it was quite busy, many thanks to all the staff who looked after us.
