Spice Aroma in Exeter

Food was piping hot when it was delivered, and flavours on point. Naan was very soft and plenty of vegetarian options available. As an Indian student, definitely coming back!

I've had a few curries here. In my opinion they are the best curries in Exeter

Got a takeaway from here Sunday 17th. 2 superb curry dishes and found staff friendly. Good value too, would use again

Got Takeaway food was very good I requested plate due to staying at hotel, they provided plates also I thought they charged me but when I Check the bill not charged. Good customer service provided. When I go Exeter next time I definitely go dining. 👍

Fantastic authentic Indian with friendly staff. Not made cheap/overly sweet like some Indian restaurants - you can tell it is quality ingredients. Would eat there again in a heartbeat.

I was worried about the McDonald's style food boards outside but the food came out much better than spice magic and denley's combined. Highly recommended and will be back for more. Restaurant was full of Indian/Asians which is a very good sign when choosing an authentic Restaurant.

Consistently good, I get takeaways from here fairly regularly and have tried quite a few of their different curries and all have been great. You can tell just by looking that they're well made, the sauces are thick and full of plenty of diced and chopped ingredients rather than just thin and watery. All the dishes are full of flavour and portion sizes are pretty decent too.

One line: good food, cheers to the chef, substandard service and atmosphere. The food is good and we liked it. The chef sure knows his way around curries. The service was very poor (considering that I was the only person for dine-in). The atmosphere is a bit off. I didn’t understand the language of songs being played. Certainly not Indian music (considering the theme of the place is authentic Indian). Overall, the food is worth trying once.

The most amazing meal I have had in a long time

This is certainly my most favorite Indian dining place in Exeter. The price is very cheap for the quantity they give and the food is extremely flavourful. I really like their different rice varieties such as keema rice and vegetable pulao. Even their chicken main dishes are very good. My favourite is Chicken Madras and Chicken Dopiaza. Really tasty food at excellent prices.

After months of walking by since it’s opening saying, “we need to try this place” my husband and I finally did and were very pleased with our entire experience! Between the truly yummy food, reasonable prices, and proximity to our home, Spice Aroma is a new favourite and I could see us becoming regulars.

Called to book a table the day before, they seemed to have forgotten when we turned up. Staff didn’t seem to notice that we had walked in, literally no service whatsoever. Barely any choice of drinks, and nobody comes over to take an order. We walked out without ordering and went to Namaste instead - don’t bother coming here for a sit in curry.

Accidentally phoned them and ended up with a delicious garlic chicken curry, will have to remember to misdial again soon! 😀

Very nice Paneer Tikka masala with Pilau rice. Food was delivered quickly, good portion sizes and decent value for money. Curry was delicious so will definitely be back.

Initially a little concerned; staff stood around talking behind a takeaway looking counter with no effort at making customers welcome and we were the only two diners.. but it was worth taking the risk! As soon as the food came out, our worries were over, our dishes were very well presented and tasted even better. Plenty of flavour, tender chunks of chicken and spice filled sauces. Will definitely visit again when I fancy a tasty treat!

I recently ordered a takeaway meal from Spicy Aroma and it was exceptional! The staff were courteous and attentive when taking my order. The lamb vindaloo was cooked to perfection with tender, flavorful lamb and the right level of spice. The sauce was rich and delicious. The peshwari naan bread was equally impressive, freshly baked with a fluffy texture and a delightful coconut and raisin filling. 10/10 would recommend Spicy Aroma

Wow! What a curry... I've been looking for a local place with authentic Indian food since arriving in Exeter from Birmingham. Had the biriyani and it was a portion enough for two. Tasty and very well priced will be back. Sukran.

Lovely staff, attentive and efficient. Delicious meals, the only reason I am not giving a 5* is because of a mix up with what my partner requested. He is fussy and doesn't like what he refers to as "veg" in his food so requested it to come without. Unfortunately for him, it came with makes of onion and other bits which he couldn't eat so we swapped. I loved it.

There are strictly no vegan options at Spice Aroma. Except maybe fries !

Absolutely disgusting behaviour from this company - I have been a loyal customer for the last 6 months and rated them 5 stars. Unfortunately they have put their faith in deliveroo who not only have failed to deliver my food but have charged me the full amount. When contacted they said it wasn’t their problem…and that…..there was nothing they could do… oh really the food that you cooked for me and I spent £50 didn’t arrive isnt your problem… I haven’t left my house and am in full sight of anyone delivering….what a joke…. Last time I order from you….

It my new favourite Indian restaurant in Exeter. They have a good variety of vegetarian dishes and starters at affordable prices. The portions are good too. My favourite are Aloo tiki Chana chat and special rice. I also enjoy Punjabi samosa chat and saag aloo. Will be getting our food from here often and would definitely recommend it. It is located in the heart of the city and they deliver or you can dine-in.

Delicious Curries and Chilli Naan. I just wish they would open at lunch times too!

The foods is delicious & fresh. I think this is the best Indian restaurant in town, I tried many dishes, but the one I liked the most is their Chicken Tikka Kebabs style.

One of the best curries if not the best i have tasted. Delivery arrived on time by a polite smiling man. Bit more expensive that most but well worth it. I will be ordering again

Had a superb Indian take away tonight. Extensive menu, large portions, authentic tasting Indian dishes, friendly staff, great value, reasonably priced and order completed at the agreed time.

New spot for Indian food in Exeter, I must say I'm quite impressed! I ordered the sylheti ghosh, bhindi, and samosa chaat and I enjoyed them all. They definitely did not stinge on the spices. Will return for sure!

Nice customer service, wide selection of dishes to choose from and the chef is willing to accommodate to make adjustments to the dish if you want it extra spicy to match different taste buds.

This restaurant was very bad. The service was very slow and I had to call the waiters more than 5 times. They also lied about the toilet being out of order. I would not recommend this to anyone.

One of the best Vindaloos I’ve ever had. Big portions and ruddy hot. A star knocked off for having no Alcohol allowed.

Really poor customer service, it was a good lesson for me as I decide to go when I saw 5 Star review. I had to call the waiter to get my order. It wasn't busy that time but waiters busy chatting behind the till. Very disappointed. I wouldn't recommend for those who wants to go to restaurant like this. Not happy with the service. I ate here two days in a row and was impressed with the food each time. I've been looking for high quality food in Exeter for a while and Spice Aroma does not disappoint. They use quality ingredients and their experienced chefs create dishes that feel like home. I particularly enjoyed the Sylhet Gost, Tandoori Chicken and Lamb Sheesh Kebab. It is clear that a lot of care and effort has been put into every dish. I am excited to return and try more dishes on the menu. The staff and friendly and helpful and will adjust the dishes as per your preferences. Update: I ate at Spice Aroma yet again! Thoroughly enjoyed the salmon jalfry and aaloo tikki chaat. Tasty as always.

Nice food and friendly treatment

Friendly staff, clean premises, fresh decor, good portion sizes, and food tasted amazing at a great price! Really hit the spot when we were starving at around 7pm, just walked in, sat down and ordered, no faff. They warmed the plates and food came out of the kitchen fast. My husband and I eat lots of Indian/Pakistani food and we can genuinely say that the food quality here is superb. He's been wanting to visit for ages as he knew they were newly opened and it was definitely worth the wait.

I started with Samosa with channa which is best for the starters with really good taste and best chicken tikka I ever had in Exeter, mint sauce should be spicy to give a maximum taste of the grill things and it also gives the touch of Indian food with spices.

Recently opened for business. Thought would give it a try and, pleased to say, it was well worth it. Extensive menu offering a wide choice of starters and mains. For me, the flavours of the dishes were very enjoyable. Spicing was accurately described on the menu. I chose, for my main, the Goan Fish Curry which was described as "fairly hot". This was spot on. The fish was succulent and delicious. Ordered Tarka Dal as a side and this was also very good. Portion sizes are generous. Prices are very competitive. I have no reservations in recommending Spice Aroma.

A tasty treat. Discovering the restaurant was now open, we wanted to try it and had a lovely meal, full of flavour and absolutely delicious. Salmon tikka was a real indulgence. All the dishes were beautifully cooked to order and portion sizes really good. Definitely a place to return to or get the next takeaway from 🤗🤗

Spice Aroma is easily the best South Asian dining experience I've had in Exeter. The staff are kind, friendly, amicable, and full of character. Their service thankfully does away with the theatrical pretentiousness of fine dining style outlets, but they are still top class and the food is second to none when compared with other local Indian options. The menu is diverse and ranges from classic British Indian favourites to more authentic dishes from across the Subcontinent thereby catering to all kinds of customers, but be sure to specify what kind of preparation you prefer if typical British Indian fare is not what you're after. The kitchen staff have heaps of experience between them and they'll surely be able to match, if not surpass, your expectations. My recommendation for future customers are the samosa chaat, tandoori chicken and the lamb mince kebab, but the entire menu is worth testing out, one visit at a time!

Excellent food. Great customer service. So happy to finally have a good place as nice as this in Exeter!
