Southway Fish And Chips in Plymouth

Since this place reopened about a month or so ago 🤔 I've used this shop about 4 or 5 times and the taste of the Fish & Chips has very much improved from the last Fish & Chips shop and not too expensive. 😀

What they do is great. But they do have a very limited menu for a British chippy.

First time having cod and chips and some nuggets for the kids since new ownership. Wow the food was excellent. The best cod and chips I’ve had in a long time. 👍

Chip way to salty sausage very salty don't recoment it very slow service

Chips were dry and overall about as good as those that you could make from frozen at home. These chips used to be amazing, they are now awful :(

Tried the fish and chips here for the first time today, friendly staff, clean and tidy,fish and chips were fantastic will definitely be going again.

Been using this fish and chip shop for a while and it was very good. However, the last couple if visits have been very disappointing. The regular chips is now not much more than a handful and the cod tonight was more like a goldfish. Only about 5-6" in length and about 2 inches wide. I will NOT be returning.

We live very local ,and have not used this chippy for a number of years due to having a bad meal.we would normally go to whitleigh or westpark . Traffic was very busy on the Friday the weather was appalling so we decided to give it a go ,what a lovely surprise the chips were gorgeous, battered burger wasn't your usually cheaper quality it was a proper burger,and the curry sauce was lovely ,the lady that served us was very friendly ,will definitely be back

Bought a 'large' portion of chips which should clarify as a small as it was barely enough for two of us. Chips very nice but not worth the money portion wise. You've lost another customer!

Called to complain about what I had been served.., half of my orders scraggs from the bottom of the frier …. Response when I called to complain… nothing we can do about it.. we don’t use frozen chips!!! Yes you can love…just don’t bulk out your orders with with your scraggy rubbish!

Local fish and chip bar only accepts online orders so had to use this one. Was apprehensive because of the reviews others had left but was pleasantly surprised. Price was very reasonable at just over £6 for a large cod and large chips and the quality of the fish was great. Wait time was minimal and the portion size was bigger than expected. Only thing that lets it down is they don't accept card, although there is a card machine 10-15 feet from the shop. Definitely will be coming back again.

If you like sushi (cold raw fish) then this is the place to go. I ordered a large cod which was cooked for less than 3 minutes. The middle of the fish was cold and raw. Disgusting and waste of money.

Staff rude ask for standard cod n chips but when I unwrapped the fish it looked like a battered sausage some chips undercooked and dry worst place ever!!

Best chips ive gotten from any takeaway, they make them fresh every day, not from a bag or frozen, curry sauce is amazing! I have tried over a dozen chippys in and around the area and nothing compares to the quality.

Rubbish food the fish was the size of a sardine sorry but a 1 star

Only just moved to the Southway area of Plymouth, this is now my go to takeaway, the staff are amazing, very polite and very fast. They sell some of the nicest chips I have tasted in Plymouth.

This is a nice local chippy. I struggle to rate it higher than a 3 star due to prices and portion size. It's certainly not the cheapest chippy around but the food is good. Chip portions are small and thier large cod is a tiddler at best, I've seen more fish in a fish finger

The worst chips iv ever had in 40 years go to the coop near it and by dog food it will taste better

Chinese fish and chip shop. Great menu selection, all cooked to order. Reasonable portions and good prices.we enjoyed our food.

My 1st & last visit to southway fish & chips, frozen fish put in microwaved bowl of water before dipping it in batter & fried. I had haddock chips n curry sauce but it 60% batter 40% fish. My fish was just luke warm & not hot at all chips was wrapped before fish was cooked & kept in warmer.staff was fine. But deffinately would NOT go back there very poor.

Effiecient, and a half decent fish and chips, I'm from Norfolk and it'll take a lot to beat fish and chips from there
