One of my favourite traditional chip shops to visit in Chester. Recently re-opened following temporary closure over the past 10 months. Chips are freshly cooked and in small batches. Portion sizes are ok and value for money. Visiting the shop is like a step back in time to the 50s or 60s with traditional tiled decor, photos of their last Chip Shop Van from the 1970s. Definitely a Chester hidden gem. The couple who run the establishment are super friendly and always have a chat about stories of Chester, Saltney and the history behind the family business which has been operating for generations. Well worth a visit if near the Garden Quarter/Sealand Road.

Might not be everyone’s first port of call which is fine as this could be a hidden gem in the area. Friendly staff with high quality of food at a good price, very little to no negatives about this place.

Fantastic and historic local chippy. Great food at a fantastic price. The couple running it have been there for decades and are a staple of the Garden Quarter. A goldmine of local history and great food!

Spotted this fish and chip shop when we were moored in the Chester Basin it's just a 3 min walk away. The couple serving/owners were friendly and we enjoyed a good ole natter. It was like going back in time (the fish shop has been opened for 60 years) and the owners explained they had been serving for over 70 years and rge business had been going strong for 110 years. The food was delicious, reasonably priced and good portion size. The chips were more greasy that I'm used too but were delicious and reminded me of those from times gone by. Delicious, traditional food served by two hardworking and dedicated people.

Was very hungry after watching the football at Chester. This was on my way into town. Looks like a decent chippy that’s stood the test of time. Bitterly disappointed. Chips very greasy, old oil. Fish tasteless. Left feeling stodgy. Curry sauce microwaved in front of me.

0 star if I could. Inedible. I ordered a donor calzone and I requested garlic butter inside which they did to be fair. But the dough was raw, was very greasy and had no flavour. The chips had no seasoning, just a big dollop of garlic mayo on top. Typical cheap takeaway, except that cost £13.70!. Never going back.

We collected some yummy fish and chips and also got 2 portions of their fish bites it think it was called thinking they will be smaller portions so the kids can have one each.. omg the size of them was massive lol we still have a whole portion to finish today.. and the adults fish and chips… my cups wa enough for me and the kids(I don’t eat much chops anyway). The batter was so so so light and the fish was so fresh and yummy… you can tell we really enjoyed the food..and so worth for money.. Definitely will order again soon. Sorry didn’t have chance for pics as we dug in straight away
