South China in Ipswich

To sum it up, this shop is one of my favourite takeaway i’ve eaten from. The staff is always welcoming and friendly to their regulars like me. Compared to other places this place is 10/10. I’ve been eating here for years couple times a week and it’s safe to say i’ve been satisfied every-time.

Best Chinese tale away in Ipswich in my opinion. They have been in the community for 40 years and are very efficient and friendly.

Delicious food and friendly service. Open hours are limited limited but available on Google maps.

Where do I start , not the first time that I’ve had a takeaway from hear , satay chicken on skewers at £5.90 for 4 they must of been fried quiet a few times , not very nice and the satay sauce was like water . We also had a duck dish with rice and a barbecue sauce . It was mostly big chunks of fat , hardly any duck Which is disappointing at the prices they charge Since Covid. The rest was adequate . It’s normally busy in there but was empty . Dont think I be using the south china again . £60 for 2 orders , not much more for eating out

beautiful atmosphere in the area. the food was absolutely delicious and hot. prices very cheap. fast workers. basicallu heaven. the young lady who takes ur orders is so pretty and kind. wish i could be her friend

Food was tasty but in shrimp curry too much veg not enough shrimp !! I didn't have to wait long but the girl on the desk wasn't very friendly.

Refuse to take cards below £10. Food is not as good since new management.

Now officially my favourite Chinese food always so good never had a problem and prices still really reasonable compared to some places

Absolutely horrid, no taste, my curry had easy a whole chopped onion in it, never had anything like it… do not recommend at all…!

I have been going to South China since 1991 because food was nice, reasonably priced for the quality and portions a good size. However recently I feel the standard of food has lessened whilst prices are skyrocketing. They have now over priced themselves. Unfortunately the quality of food just doesn't justify the expensive price tag

They deep fried the spring rolls! The rice was terrible, but the veg chow mein was good.

Horrible, watery food. Plain, flavourless mush. Ordered a satay vegetable dish that was more like dishwater and not a peanut in sight. Undercooked vegetables. Only plus is that it was very cheap, but clearly you get what you pay for.

Not impressed :( no flavour what so ever in beef in schezwan, no spice or nothing and full of raw peppers. Golden palace is much better and portions are larger for same price. Chow mein was ok but nothing to brag about, no flavour yet again. Had to use loads of salt and pepper so it was edible.... coke was cold, best thing about my meal. Wont order again. Will stick to golden palace in future.

To be fair food is ok but when I turn up there when it was raining hard to get told a min £10 card payment I mean what decade are they living in so I tried to get cash all cash points out local shops stop giving cash back so went back to cancel or pay on card but they took the cancel my food had been sitting for at least 20 minutes they then put it back for a later order this makes me wonder what else is going on

Always delicious food and totally recommend this takeaway . Have been coming here for over 35 yrs .
