Isaacs On The Quay in Ipswich

My wife and I stopped for a drink and found this little nook over looking the water, it was really nice place, the drinks are a little on the expensive side if you ask me.

Came here as an away fan when the football was on what a place this was loads of different rooms huge beer garden and great atmosphere in there prices for a pub on the harbour are about what you would expect about £5.5 a pint but for where you are and the people that go there make it worth it.

Great spec for a pint if you can get a table outside. Decent tv watching for sport even in outside courtyard. Food is average pub fayre. Nice pub

Great fish & chips on a Friday in the Sunday 2 x£18 great deal !! Lovely spot to sit in the sun and watch the world go back. A good selection of beers & wonderful staff.

Coffee was a good local roast, clean and friendly.

I often go to Isaac's with my family or friends. It's my favourite place to eat. And today on the 8th of March, women's holiday, I came with my mum, but these two ‘gentlemen’ were very rude to me and my mum. Despite the fact that I showed my ID they did not let me and my mum in and spoilt our mood. I noticed that this is not the first time that these two security guards who worked at the 8th of March are rude to your customers.

Really busy pub on match day when Ipswich were playing at home.

Great breakfast, proctors sausages delicious, staff are lovely, very helpful, plenty of seating options, great location by the quayside.

Always a fun evening - food portions are great and so is the food especially the Oreo waffle stack explosion

First time in Ipswich. Me and partner went for a walk on the dock area to look at the scenery, it’s our anniversary… Saw this pub decided to get a drink before continuing our walk. the building was nice, never seen anything like it, it was looked like a mega club in London that have many rooms and levels, but a pub version. It was about 1pm on Thursday, so it was empty, it would be bonkers if it was full. Went in with good energy, left feeling confused. Firstly the bartender maybe was having a bad day, because I came in and was like, wow I never saw anything like this, but he ignored me. No welcoming, no smile, nothing… So I ordered the drinks and then he tried to upsell us a different drink, however our first interaction was not well. So I don’t really want what you are selling at this point. Anyways we took what he was selling and went outside to watch the boats. We outside enjoying ourself in the sun. Then a lady came out asking us if we brought our own water. And if we didn’t like their water?... We were so confused as to what she was implying… So I was like; yes it is our water.. It seems like she was outside or maybe kick out because we were sitting there and maybe on her cameras she didn’t see the drinks we purchased on the table and it was only after she spoke, she realised that we were a paying customers.. she responded saying just checking if our water isn’t good enough.. so now I had to explain as to why we are there with an empty water bottle… we were walking on the dock and decided to come in for a drink… then she leave us. We was soo confused. We finished our drinks and left…

Perfect pub for a match day with a big screen and quick service. Decent setting too. Kinda place you wish was on your doorstep

Issac's on the Quay offers an atmosphere that is vibrant and open to a wide range of customers. I particularly like it here for its scene of the waterfront and the pub food it serves. I often come here to study and have a sandwich and a cappuccino or perhaps bring a social event here. The only negatives is that it can be expensive for drinks and you can only pay by card. I like being given the option to pay cash or card. All in all, it's a good place to be. I recommend visiting during summer time.

Visited the establishment one afternoon, sat at a table and tried to order via the QR code on the table which was faulty, then on the menu it states "in person orders should be placed at the till point" we stood at the till point for a short while but nobody came, the till point also seemed to be turned off. There was a strange atmosphere inside so we left to most likely never return.

Great night had by all busy but no waiting and no delays we'll done to the staff

Positive first we had loaded chips good portion quite nice. Negatives BEWARE they do not except UK legal currency only cards no mention of this on the menu.Tables very sticky not nice. They got our order wrong and the table across from us . Chairs very dodgy got my finger caught in joint in chair. Would probably never go back again.

I recently checked out Isaac in Ipswich for drinks, and I had a really nice time! I was impressed by how spacious the place is; there’s plenty of room to relax and enjoy. The decoration adds a cool vibe, making it a great spot to hang out.Overall, it was a fun experience, and I’d definitely recommend it if you’re in the area looking for a good place to grab a drink! 🍹✨

Great pub, lovely location, perfect to watch the football

Went to a wedding last night and service was impeccable. Buffet was nice and service was friendly.

Great place to watch sports and catch up with friends. Large outside inner courtyard adds to the atmosphere. Loads of screens and decent selection of draught beer. Has various areas where you can meet either with large groups or smaller groups, that makes it feel like it’s your own area with screen of that makes sense. We didn’t eat there so can’t comment on food

The worst bar experience I've encountered for a long, long time. The staff were completely overwhelmed with the size of the queue at the bar, though were completely emotionless too, almost robotic, and not in a rush at all. It took 25 minutes to get served at the bar, and then a further 35 minutes for the food to arrive, which was very average and cold. As we left we went through the courtyard which looked a fun area, maybe had we have gone there we may have had better joy, but blimey that was so bad. Literally should have gone to weatherspoons. Awful. Food not value for money at all.

Highly eccomend the large breakfast. Very filling and quality ingrediants. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

I recently visited Isaacs on the Quay with two friends for a farewell gathering, and we had a delightful experience. The weather was just right—not too cold or warm—allowing us to enjoy both indoor and outdoor seating options. We started our visit with a selection of drinks: Desperado, Guinness, and a local treat, Aspall Cider. The draught Aspall was particularly impressive, with its blush flavor offering a sweet and refreshing taste that complemented our meal perfectly. For food, we opted for shared plates: Sriracha chicken, loaded chips with cheese and chipotle mayo, and a side of chicken strips. The flavors were vibrant, and the dishes were generously portioned, making them ideal for sharing. The loaded chips were a standout, with just the right amount of spice from the Sriracha. The ambience of the bar was enjoyable, striking a nice balance between lively and relaxed. It wasn’t overly crowded, which allowed for easy conversation and a laid-back vibe. The staff were friendly and attentive, promptly clearing our used glasses and plates, and ensuring our needs were met. Overall, Isaacs on the Quay provided a wonderful setting for our gathering. It was a memorable farewell for my colleague moving out of Ipswich, enhanced by good food, great drinks, and an inviting atmosphere. I would highly recommend this spot for anyone looking to unwind with friends or celebrate a special occasion.

No photos of the pub sorry but a wonderful place. Large but with many rooms / open spaces so you never feel overwhelmed. And if you want a romantic corner, there are many of those so don't be put off by the size.

Nice relaxing atmosphere. Haven't been for years and with softer furnishings in the courtyard it has given it a more chilled vibe imo. It wasn't overly busy so getting served wasn't an issue.

First time here food good view wonderful

I often visit on a Sunday afternoon. During the Summer the outdoor area is usually packed. Plenty of seats available inside though. Usually live music from 3pm, which is loud if your sitting near it, its great but you won’t be able to hear each other, if you’ve visited for a chat. Food is alright, I’ve had the Ham & Cheese Panini a few times, it comes with crisps, £8ish (Pictured) I think you can swap the crisps for chips for an additional £1.50. Pink Gin & tonic, about £6.50. My friend had cod and chips. The cod was large & lovely! Pint of Orange Juice £3.50, there was also the option for half a pint of orange juice. Issacs sell my favourite Prosecco. The small individual bottles and the regular sized bottles. Now, I love that they do this, but it’s very expensive! I had a small bottle back in 2022 and it was £9. It’s not cheaper to get the large bottle either. All in all a great location, great views, but usually rather busy, so not the place to go if you’re looking for a quiet weekend drink.

Came here a few years back and had a wonderful time so thought we would com again with friends, seems you can’t employee people around these parts as the bar was ten deep so many people were complying we ended up waking out. Quite embarrassing! Note to pub, look at the football fixtures and book staff accordingly. Our friends won’t be taking my tips for out next day out. Very badly run!

One of the best-known pubs on the Waterfront, always busy and with great live music some weekends. The perfect place to look out on the boats and people watch, especially on a sunny afternoon. Quite expensive, hence 4 stars.

Lovely pub with food available. Nice location too. They don’t take cash though, just so you are prepared.

Over the last decade or so we have always stopped here, either for an early morning breakfast, lunch, dinner and/or drinks in the evening; or a night out! It's big enough to have a quiet meal or step outside and enjoy a friendly atmosphere of people enjoying themselves; great for relaxing and watching the boats and people walk by. It's also thankfully family friendly up to early evening.

Bit noisy for a 75 year old but we did enjoy the Friday night when it was less noisy snd we could hear each other when we were talking.

Informed when ordering that the waiting time for a toast breakfast would take between 30 to 45m. Really!!!! Decided to go with a quick pastry that was bad or not fresh. Bad experience

Enjoyed a great night at Isaacs Friday 16th August. Travelled from Liverpool for the game. Lovely place, good atmosphere and excellent staff making you welcome. Went back again the following morning, again great atmosphere mixing with Ipswich supporters before the game. How match days should be. 👍👏.

Always great to visit, particularly if you sit outside in the summer months or, are part of a large group as there is plenty of space all round. There are multiple bars so never much of a wait and, food is reasonable for a pub!

Had a great lunch here staff were as great as always and always a lovely view of the marina.

£37 for Frixenet prosecco is ridiculous...if your going to rob us at the bar at least provide something I can't find in my local tesco for a fraction of the price. Service is slow. Lively atmosphere but won't be rushing back...better places to go in town.

Good bar, in a nice location right on the waterfront. Always busy during peak times. Drinks are on the pricier side but there's always a good atmosphere here.

Nice to sit and have a coffee with a view over the Quay just watching the world go by. Also good some nights with entertainment. Good range of drinks on offer.

Thus place is amazing with lots of nooks and crangs to suit every where. Staff were amazing even though they were having to deal with immense heat and lots of people. Service was amazing and so was the food.

Was there Sunday, nice meal service slow, had main, then the server ask us if we wanted a desert, yes we replied she said b back In a minute, 30 minute s later she never arrived so we paid and left, so left very unhappy, certainly won't return to the marina. The whole place needs a good clean up what a waste of 100 mile round trip very disappointing all round.

A nice pub bar establishment especially on a sunny afternoon. I prefer it when it's not overly busy. I was there on a Thursday evening which was fine for me. A pre drink venue before heading off into the town for food.

Brilliant place to go for breakfast. The service can sometimes be a little slow to place an order based on the popularity, and the price gap between a small breakfast and a big breakfast should probably be tweaked a little, but the ingredients are good, food is fresh, always nicely cooked and very reasonably priced.

Accessibility wise, you can get into the first part of the venue and there is an accessible toilet. However I did find this part of the building quite chilly as you can't really get away from the door opening and closing. We ordered at the bar and waited 40 minutes before asking what was happening and someone came to our table to explain the system has been failing and loosing orders. We weren't the only ones this had happened to as another customer behind us was also asking where their order was. Staff offered a drink, we had to get one to take away as we needed to be somewhere and said our food would be with us in four minutes. Luckily I was and the food was got and delicious but we had to rush as needed to leave and I didn't have time to finish all of mine. Lovely food just a big shame about the service. They knew the system had been failing so maybe take orders a different way until that is sorted.

We ordered at the bar and waited nearly an hour for food as the system wasn't logging food orders properly, we were given a bottle of water as compensation for the wait. The food was very good once it arrived.

Atmosphere looks to be amazing on the quayside went in to have some refreshments but unfortunately they are a cashless bar....no way of taking cash payments so they have lost my custom,and will continue to do so.

Went for breakfast this morning, ordered quickly at the counter, very good value, very pleasant staff, had a laugh and a joke, breakfast was decent and arrived 10 minutes later. Meal and coffee good. A slice of black pudding would have made it perfect.. Look forward to calling in again. Thanks.

Good place by the quay , picturesque with lots of different bars and seating option. Price point a bit high and the variety is not the best compared to other places but well worth a visit in my opinion. Great vibe for sports .

Went here on a Sunday afternoon. Only two out of the three meals we ordered were served. After asking multiple times what was going on just ended up getting a refund for the last one and left as everyone else had finished eating and had there plates cleared.

Excellent management and a great place to have a drink on the waterfront. Food is good quality and well priced. For some reason I got served an otherwise great posh fish finger sandwich [Cod goujons in ciabatta] on garlic bread??? Which was a bit odd! But beer is well priced, and service is fast and the place is clean, friendly, safe and a great venue👍

Asked for a bottle of wine only to have the whole bottle dumped unceremoniously into two flimsy plastic cups. This was a pre supper drink on a Saturday evening. Can only assume from this that the place is dangerous, despite the several security people being in attendance.

Went on a Sunday afternoon for the live music by Undercover, they were excellent. Brilliant classic rock. Loved the courtyard which is perfect in nice weather.

Called in for a quick bite to eat and a coffee after a walk along the Quay. Very nice coffee and and soup.

Useless on a game day. 8 deep at the bar with only 2 people serving. Great breakfast though.
