Sound Cafe in City of London, Westminster

Been calling and emailing and have not received a response. Could you advise what is the best way to contact ? Seems like reviews get responses

Horrible service. They will ask you to paid the bill before the meal. And after the payment, the waiter will ignore your raising hand, and you need to go reception to ask for help although I just sit next the bar. I don’t know how hard to get my drink back (they missed my coke and lemonade) Normal food and horrible service

Been here a couple of times, nice spot overall - but on last visit we ordered a glass a wine and an Irish coffee but the coffee was stone cold and our drinks were accompanied by a bottle of disinfectant, which sat on the bar the entire time.🤷☺️

I loved dining in the Sound Cafe. We booked the bottomless brunch and were very pleased with our experience. The waiting staff were courteous and helped with any queries. Their robot waiter was rather cute too. My meal was the pulled pork and I couldn't fault it - tasty and filling. All the puddings were fabulous and good sized servings. The room itself is fascinating and very well decorated. I wouldn't hesitate to return and recommend highly.

I had an extremely disappointing experience here today, all due to the manager, Vlad. He was incredibly rude, dismissive, and disrespectful—and even tried to gaslight me about his behavior. After finishing our main courses, we had been sitting for about half an hour, so my partner politely asked Vlad if we could order our desserts soon, as I had prepaid for a two-course meal with a cocktail. His response was curt, dismissive, and delivered with a dirty look. When I tried to express that I found his attitude inappropriate, he immediately interrupted me, refused to let me finish speaking, and defensively told me to go ahead and make a complaint. He denied having any attitude and justified his behavior by saying he was busy working at the bar and elsewhere—information I wasn’t aware of at the time. Regardless, as the manager, he should have handled the situation professionally and respectfully. I was so upset by the interaction that we decided to leave without having our prepaid desserts. What was meant to be a special birthday dinner was completely ruined.

Nice place to eat.. drinks are over priced and the cocktails are much toooo sweet ! Nice experience all the same.

We had a fabulous afternoon tea at the sound café, It’s not your normal afternoon tea they’re spicy shrimp Mac and cheese, Pulled pork hotdogs, churros. The vibe of this place is really great. The staff are incredible., Great fun, chatty Especially the manager. They really do go out of their way to make your experience great. The bottomless afternoon tea just kept flowing! We have been there several times and will definitely go back again.

Nice bar, with lots to eat and drink. Had the clssic milkshake twice. Tasty but very expensive. The bartender a bit of a slow jerk. The waiter was very friendly.

Overall a nice stay at The Cumberland Hotel. Big thanks to Raphael at the Sound Bar for his excellent service and friendly attitude. Unfortunately, my experience with Malaika was disappointing—she was rude, abrupt, and lacked basic courtesy. A smile and respectful tone go a long way in hospitality.

The service here is truly terrible. I have free meal vouchers every day and regret every moment I need to eat here.

Service -100/10. So so so disappointing. We were very exited to come here for my mother in laws birthday and travelled from Bristol to have her birthday early evening meal here after a lovely day out In London. The place was empty and we were shown to our seats practically touching with the only other two guests, not even kidding our chairs were touching. The guy who was serving us had the most stinking attitude I’ve we have ever received from a waiter. Slapping his chewing gum, attitude, splashing our water everywhere while serving. We actually ended up leaving and cancelling our food order that had been sent to the kitchen after he rudely argued with us about a mistake he had made when taking our order and he refused to apologise, whilst arguing back and forward when we were being polite, will never be coming back, went to Wagamama’s instead and were treated fabulously.

Dario is fabulous. Great service, we’ve come back for a second time because he’s so great.

It was a great experience. We come to this restaurant quite often, and Page has given a wonderful service. She has been very welcoming and had a pleasant approach towards us.

Amazing atmosphere. Staff were friendly and moved efficiently though I felt they could potentially have asked if I wanted a food menu and even when I ordered food they brought it with no cutlery or napkins and acted surprised when I wanted it. The chips were dry and hard but the rest of the food was okay. Signature cocktails were AMAZING, perfect blend of flavoursome and refreshing. Great ambiance overall and there was a live band. Will definitely visit again!

Did not enjoy burger, which was made from frozen patty and could not be prepared medium or rare per the server. Salmon was good. Found the service slow and inattentive, they appeared to be understaffed. Overall, disappointing service experience. Nice atmosphere and decorations though.

The burger patty was the cheapest possible meat and tasted awful. I had one bite and left the rest, what a waste. Wish I had gone to McDonalds, the quality there is 1000x better. It's a shame because it's a very nice looking and modern space. Chicken was good though. Service is friendly but they don't have enough staff so it's very slow

Food is okay, cheap and large portions. Service is OK. Atmosphere OK. Would dine here if I wanted cheap and cheerful. Not fancy, not romantic, not classy. Good for lads and lasses night out.

Here we are again. Bottomless brunch for £30 for two. Best value in Long neon. The burger and cheesecake are great. We will keep coming back for the food, drink and service. Popular at the weekend. Quieter during the week. Cannot be beaten for value.

Bottomless afternoon tea, service was second to none, great surroundings and ambience, the food isn't your usual afternoon tea and wouldn't normally be things we would eat (was a gift), but was of good quality. I'm not sure however that I'd pay full price for the afternoon tea alone.

Marcus - the person that helps at the welcome desk. Very rude. I was enquiring for a party of 40. He couldn’t event be bothered to look up when I was asking questions. Standoff ish and opposite to what the job spec suggests. What a way to lose business.

Fantastic bottomless brunch. We arrived at the Sound Cafe early and sat in the bar area checking out the deco, the hotel is amazing and the staff were very friendly and helpful. After being seated for our bottomless brunch, the waitress took our drinks order and shortly after our food order. There was a great choice of food and it was absolutely delicious, not once did we have to ask the staff to top us up, they were very on the ball and came to top up the wine and prosecco regularly. Cocktails were also in regular supply. All of the staff were lovely but a special shout out to Shaon, who was especially attentive, it was very much appreciated so thank you. I would definitely recommend and would love to return some time soon.

Visited a few days ago for a family meal and it was our first time visiting. Drinks and mains were good and portion sizes are huge so you feel like you're getting your moneys worth. I don't usually opt for dessert but this time I thought why not as we were celebrating, so me and my sister ordered the house apple cobbler with came with ice cream. We both took a bite and were instantly hit with an extremely salty taste. It was as if they accidentally used salt instead of sugar. It was that bad we had to send them back and the waitress kindly offered us a brownie instead (although it does say on the menu it is served with ice cream and it was in fact given to us plain which left it tasting very dry). That will teach me not to order dessert in future.

We have visited The sound Cafe for their Bottomless Brunch and always have a great time. The location is brilliant overlooking Marble Arch, the staff are very warm and welcoming, the food is always delicious and well presented, the drink is very bottomless and the music videos playing throughout adds to the ambiance. Rafael, the manager, and his great team of waiters and waitresses add to the magic. I always make my reservations using a discounted voucher and they are excellent value for money. I already have 3 more dates booked!! Highly recommended.

We’ve had a family meal at the Sound Cafe previously and loved the atmosphere and ambience of the venue, however on this occasion it was such a let down. The table was booked for 9 people and we had a long table right under a large screen TV showing the six nations rugby. This wouldn’t have been an issue if it was just the visual, but someone at the venue decided it would be appropriate to stream the audio too. And it was so loud throughout the restaurant and the bar area. We asked if this could be switched to music and keep the game on the TV but was told that the majority of the bookings were here for the rugby. It was the Ireland v France game and very few in the restaurant or bar were watching the screens. We asked if the sound could be adjusted during the ad break at half time but this didn’t happen. And then when the game ended (Ireland lost by the way!) the adverts continued to play over the speakers. We asked if this could be changed and that was switched to music after 10 minutes. The atmosphere was instantly lifted, and got back to the ethos of being at the Sound Cafe. Apart from this, the food was great, drink options were good and the service was good.

I loved the food and the service; however, I witnessed a regrettable scene. I believe it was the person in charge, trying to get the attention of a staff member right in front of the customers. And I say "trying" because they were merely shouting, while the poor staff member was in tears, desperately trying to escape that unfortunate situation. They just wouldn’t stop yelling at her, and that scene completely ruined our experience.

Great deal via The Fork. Love the setting, everything modern and bright. Friendly service with a surprise! Fish very nice but chips were probably frozen so were dry. Double decker burger was huge, could have done with more sear and seasoning. Free live music and really good lunch deals. Will be back for those!

Was an amazing experience,lovely italian waiter(not 100% sure but ,i think is Mateo). Great atmosphere ,amazing food served by the little robot. My birthday was amazing due to this restaurant and lovely people around (i had a group birthday wishes from all the people in the restaurant) .

dario is the most attentive server for our bottomless brunch. absolutely incredible food. left stuffed after 2 courses. the cocktail upgrade is worth every penny. went on a friday so it wasn’t as vibey but can imagine on a weekend it goes off

My friend had a voucher for a 3-course Afternoon Tea with bottomless prosecco, and it was such a great afternoon. The food options are unique, the portions are generous, and the team is lovely. Special mention to Darius, who kept our Prosecco glasses topped up! The venue is within a beautiful hotel, around the corner from Marble Arch tube station. The hotel lobby is lovely, complete with a London cab as the centrepiece. The Sound Cafe used to be the Hard Rock Cafe, but the vibe of a rock cafe is very much present—great music, quirky decor, and lovely surroundings. I'd recommend a visit!

Normally not one to try a restaurant hotel but this place looked like it had great vibes and we were looking for a place with live music. The food here was actually really good! Most of the group got the striploin steak but a couple of us got the London double decker burger which is one of the restaurant's most popular menus. The burger was awesome and very filling. Service was adequate, our server was quite curt but was efficient overall. I feel for the service staff as I think they were dealing with a particularly rude table of customers that were displaying a lot of anti social behaviour. I can understand that might result in a little less enthusiasm. Atmosphere was great. Unfortunately the live band was late to get started so we only caught a bit of their performance, but it was a great venue. Overall a great place if you're around the Marble Arch area!

Lovely place for one visit, the food was edible though the burger was very dry. And the pudding was overcooked.Service was impeccable the staff were very attentive and always made sure there was not an empty glass.

Fantastic 18th birthday at Sound. Grace went above and beyond to make sure we had the most fantastic time. Excellent food and fantastic atmosphere. Staff were extremely attentive during our bottomless brunch. Very grateful for such an incredible experience!

Best place to eat microwaved Tesco sandwiches for 50 pounds per person. We ordered the afternoon tea and they actually only have two very basic tea types , savouries were stale and tasteless and sweets were store bought and low quality. Nice decoration and atmosphere but food was a huge disappointment..

Treated ourselves to a first ever bottomless brunch which we enjoyed with friendly, efficient service and a relaxed atmosphere involving retro music videos and a cute robot server that occasionally crashes! My vegan Mexican wrap and chips was fine, slightly messy to eat with your hands, and there was also vegan and gluten free options for dessert (Brownie or ice cream). Local Camden Brewery beer was available and I could only fit in 3 but this was more than satisfying (Prosecco, wine, soft drinks also available).

I recently attended a bottomless brunch here with a friend. It was so lovely the service and food was on pint, couldn't fault it at all. Our waiter was Dario and he was lovely. Would highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for bottomless brunches in Central. I will definitely going back!!!! =)

The service from the staff was brilliant and we had an amazing visit. It's such a warm and welcoming atmosphere here, but also really relaxed and a bit of an oasis away from the hustle and bustle of Oxford Street. The staff were so kind to us as when we mentioned that we were on our Honeymoon and they surprised us with a special dessert! Thank you Cumberland Hotel and Sound Café staff for making it so memorable!

Bad treatment as soon as the reservation was shown. The service was extremely poor. A female person who was extremely snooty and unfriendly served us. Here the minimum of what is necessary is done. No smile, no asking if it was good... tipped us 8 pounds, despite everything, no thank you or smile from the waitress. Rarely have I been treated so badly and arrogantly. It certainly won't happen to us again as we won't be eating in this restaurant again. The guest does not feel welcome or valued in any way. It's a shame, it's become very negative.

Nice enough, but the only place where I've ever been charged a service charge (13.5%) for buying a drink at the bar - and very hidden. Over £8 a pint, which seems steep even for central London! Perhaps I don't get out enough?

An amazing back to the future bottomless brunch. Our server was just oitstanding and we loved meeting Bella! Great value for money. I was lucky enough to roll double “8’s” and got a free upgrade 🙂

Looking for somewhere with a bit of fun, good food and a good vibe. What was really good: Our waiter (and any staff we encountered) - funny, professional, and a real credit to the venue. Food - Americana theme. We had the smokehouse sharing platter. Meat fell apart and plenty of it. Location - central London. Two minutes walk to Central line. What needs improving: I can quite honestly say the band was terrible. They were called something like Traincrash Junction (I'm paraphrasing - it was Train something or another, but I think the new name is better). The song choice was inoffensive enough - Cardigans, Maroon 5, Natalie Imbruglia stuff from the 90s and 00s. Now take this and give it to an average high school band (with middle aged band members). Guitarist was fine but he looked liked they'd dragged him in at the last minute. Unfortunately we could endure no more and skipped pudding to flee at the interval. So, I think there needs to be better vetting of the bands allowed to play. It may be that this was a one off and we got a bad night, but as a big central London venue, you can't afford to let amateurs up, not unless they're very good. If it wasn't for the band I'd give four stars, but paying £50 per head to have to endure that wasn't great.

Aslam was the best waiter I've ever had in 54 years on this planet. He was funny, charming kind and incredibly helpful in finding me vinegar! A real testament to the Sound Cafe's service team. An all round a good experience made outstanding by Aslam!

Really enjoyed the "Back to the Future" Afternoon Tea. Only downside was, we weren't offered any tea ...... but we had plenty of wine to make up for it😊. Don't expect your typical Afternoon Tea of dainty sandwiches, cakes & scones, this was big, chunky, tasty food & plenty of it. Our servers were great & never let our glasses stay empty for long. The atmosphere was good, but don't go if you prefer a quite tradional Afternoon Tea. Great 80s music & videos being played! Even got to roll the dice ...... but failed miserably! Excellent value for money. Would definitely recommend it

Pretty place Drinks were too sweet. No alcohol

We booked a table to celebrate a birthday during our stay in London. We were very excited as we had heard a lot of good things. We are in good spirits when we arrived at the place and were warmly welcomed by a nice lady at the counter. She showed us to the table but after that it just went downhill. We got a male waiter who was not at all interested in serving us. He was grumpy and unsmiling. We ordered drinks and it took a long time to get the drinks and when they finally arrived there were several people who didn't get the drinks they were supposed to have. We had to ask 4 times to get what we wanted. When we got dinner there was a dish missing... when the rest of us had finished eating the dish came after we had to point it out several times. Same with the dessert… same procedure. The waiter did not complain once or the kitchen. He just got angrier and angrier. When we had to pay he was so angry he started raising his voice. The atmosphere was good in the room, but the service ruined it. We left there angry and frustrated. The food was not worth the money. It was dry. But the service was the worst. When we reported the way we felt we were treated, we received no acknowledgment or apology. It ruined the whole birthday celebration and it wasn't worth leaving the money here…. Will never come back again on the second occasion. You will have to look for a long time for inferior service. 👎🏻

We were supposed to celebrate a birthday but were very disappointed. A very poor, unreachable and grumpy waiter. He had no control over anything. Everyone got food except for one person. So when everyone had finished eating the last dish arrived, it was forgotten. The same happened with the dessert, everyone except one person got it so had to ask for it and, it came a long time later when everyone had finished. Had to ask for the drink that was ordered, we asked 4 times before it arrived. A very bad experience. Bad service. Not even an apology. The music was good, and the atmosphere in the room, but this waiter unfortunately spoiled our atmosphere and experience.

All good. What made this a 3 star was the very long wait to be served. I had to ask several waiters where my order was. Waiters we're no where to be seen and I kept having to look around to try to locate them.

Lovely, lively venue. We visited yesterday evening(21.11.24). It was pretty crowed for a large venue. The staff although polite, forgot completely about our order and disappeared into the bowels of the hotel and we never saw them again. We are still waiting...The place had a real party vibe and we where there with a big group. It is a pity it closes so early (11:30), despite the forgotten order we could have stayed all night!

Had a superb dinner after a tiring day exploring London … highly recommend this place if you wanted to chill after a long day at work or just needed a relaxing dinner with music atmosphere. Have to deduct one star for service as the servers almost forgot about checking on our table for orders and check out.

We visited here for a nice afternoon get together 50th celebration. Excellent venue, food and the service by Dario was outstanding. Highly recommend We had the afternoon tea with unlimited drinks. We were never forgotten and the atmosphere was good.

Lovely place right in the heart of London. Ww came here for the bottomless brunch offer and were not disappointed. All of the staff are lovely but Darius who was our waiter was in a league of his own, so attentive and funny. The food is good with a decent range of things. It's a little 'young' for what we would usually choose (burgers and chips etc) but is done very well. The place itself is very large with a stage and lots of music memorabilia. It reminded me of a hard rock hotel. All told pretty ace and we will return.

We were gifted our experience as a christmas present and from the moment we sat down, we loved Sound café. Our waiter was amazing and kept our drinks topped up for our bottomless brunch. He was funny & engaging and helped make our experience fabulous! To top it all off, the little robot waiters were an unexpected but truly wonderful surprise! The decor was interesting and vibrant and added another layer to our experience. We also got to do a little bit of celebrity spotting, which was very exciting ☺️ Would definitely return and recommend it to everyone to visit!!

A great restaurant! The name suits everything about the decor of the place, it feels like you are in a concert, the atmosphere is incredible. The food was really good and affordable, we tried the burgers, fries and corn ribs and enjoyed every part of it. If you manage to get an evening booking then go for it because there are live shows on most evenings. If you’re a sports fan then you will enjoy watching games in their bar section. Overall Sound is a great restaurant for a good meal with friends and family.

steak and fish and chips were good, don't go anywhere near the chicken tenders , the fajita chicken and the double decker burger meat were also over cooked and dry. used the first table offer but can't help but think that 9 pounds original price for 3 small chicken tender is a bit much.

My girlfriend and myself went for a bottomless brunch experience. We were welcomed my very friendly staff and was shown to our table and they explained how it all worked ! The beer and the cocktails started flowing , the food came out quite quick and was really tasty and fresh , there was a nice atmosphere about the place too ! Would deff come here again

We had brilliant service here. Table 49 at 630pm on Saturday 26th October (I forgot to ask our waitress’ name). Our waitress was excellent and we received efficient and friendly service. Each member of staff we spoke to was lovely too. The environment was quite loud. Not sure if it always like that or it was because it was Saturday evening? Food is lovely too. Thank you!

All in all a fun experience even if slightly unexpected: we hoped to find a more intimate atmosphere instead we were thrown into the middle of a Las Vegas Hotel lobby environment, loud and a bit tacky. The waiter who helped us, Ahmed, went over and beyond to make our stay as pleasant as it could possibly be! Professional and amicable. The food wasn’t bad, even though not much variety on offer: again it felt like being in a US diner rather than the prestigious Cumberland hotel. One last thing: for as much as we enjoyed the presence of a Japanese robot serving tables, it felt completely out of place and jarring with the rest.

Cozy place with cool music and excellent cuisine

Came here for bottomless brunch, had been before when it was Hard Rock Cafe and compared to then was disappointing, lacked the previous atmosphere. Our server was great, they also have AI trolleys delivering food which was quirky ( it brings food to table but needs a human to serve) good value if using Travel Zoo deal but otherwise expensive

Lovely place clean and friendly staff all very professional, the food was very tasty and drinks unlimited.

This was our third visit to Sound Cafe for the bottomless brunch. Firstly, a couple of niggles: when we arrived (early) we took a seat in the foyer and discovered that someone had left their mobile phone on the settee. We immediately handed this to a member of staff, who took it without so much as a "Thank you" - we thought this particularly offhand and rude. Secondly, when we went to check in for our meal, we received no friendly greeting and the receptionist was extremely cold. On a positive note, the food was, as previously, very good and the service by Aslam was outstanding. What a friendly, personable and efficient guy he is! HOWEVER, where has the entertainment gone? Music playing at a very low volume (so low, that we struggled to hear it) and random videos playing on the screens. No atmosphere whatsoever. Please, please bring back the drag brunches (or similar entertainment) - they were a hoot! On this most recent visit, the lack of entertainment and atmosphere did not leave us feeling that we would want to return any time soon.

Ahmed was very fast with taking orders and when we needed anything he would be there straight away. I love the atmosphere too the music choices tonight was brilliant.

We had a very smooth and comfortable dining because of Ahmed. All our requests were met and everything came out just like how we wanted. The service was quick. The foods we had were incredibly delicious and fulfilling.
