Soul Food Kitchen in Glasgow City

Reallly excellent sauerkraut workshop, with lots of useful information. Janice shared her expertise about making ferments with the group and I learned a lot. I'm looking forward to trying the sauerkraut when it's ready in a few weeks time.

Fab place , real food and great customer service !

Service was very slow but food was really good.

Great food, pristine clean and very friendly staff. Only negative is personal preference, I found the decor a bit clinical, white with bright lighting. Would prefer perhaps a more relaxing ambience.

The nut roast and the mushroom skewers tasted amazing. Staff were really nice and friendly also.

My favourite vegan restaurant in Glasgow! Been meaning to write this review for ages and have visited many times in between! The food is fantastic, it’s clear the chefs really care about the food they serve as the dishes are well thought through, interesting and different to what you find in most vegan restaurants. There’s something for everyone and for every mood. I particularly appreciate the starters and desserts as really good ones of both are hard to find as a vegan. The waiting staff are lovely and friendly too.

Try and come here every time I visit Glasgow. The food is just fabulous and reasonably priced too. Also handy if you’re visiting the Ovo Hydro Arena.

A really nice light and welcoming space, despite being at basement level. This is a great example of how to do vegan cooking - thoughtful flavour combinations, lots of attention paid to skillful vegetable cooking, plus lots of variety and colour - all genuinely very tasty. A big shout out for some excellent chunky chips too (even impressing my chip connoisseur husband). Outstanding kind and friendly service. It's absolutely worth a visit even if you're not veggie or vegan - I am neither, found plenty on the menu to enjoy and will definitely be back.

Really nice vegan restaurant. Went here instead of the 78 that used to be the local when I lived in Glasgow years back but the vibe has changed. This would be the new local if I lived here again. Nice and chill. Good food.

We had a lovely dinner at the Soul Food Kitchen. The vegetarian food was delicious, and the service was great. I will definitely be back to try more dishes from their menu. 10/10

(I’m not a vegan) Soul Food Kitchen is an absolute gem! From start to finish, the experience was outstanding. The ramen was rich and flavorful, and the hummus dips paired perfectly with the garlic bread and the mushroom skewers. The roasted pepper and tomato soup, with a side of garlic bread, was one of the best soups I've ever had—so comforting and fresh. The Thai green curry was one of the best I’ve had. The crème brûlée and mango cheesecake were both creamy, indulgent, and unbelievably vegan - like I actually could not believe it was vegan they tasted amazing. The ambiance is cozy, and the staff were warm and attentive. A must-visit for anyone looking for delicious plant-based cuisine! As a Kambucha lover they had probably the most diverse range of flavours and the dark cherry Kambucha did not disappoint 💯👏🏽

Plenty Gluten Free and delicious food

Excellent and quality cuisine! Simple and tasty soup accompanied by delicious homemade bread, delicate and tasty fermented vegetables, the Ramen Bowl is truly unforgettable! Kind and fast service, nice and relaxing environment ♥️ super recommended!

A restaurant where the staff is very pleasant and attentive to customers. The ramen is very, very good. This is further proof that vegetarian dishes can be very tasty too. I recommend this address.

3rd Aug 2024: After an hour's wait, the only waitress around informed us that our order was "misplaced" in the kitchen! This was after we booked a table a day earlier. Utter disappointment! We were starving by then and decided to walk out and get food somewhere else. Not coming back! 10th Aug 2024: We were offered a free meal for two as an apology for the mishap. Lovely service this time, yummiest food that arrived real quick. Drinks, starter, mains and dessert were all on the house. Our offer to pay at least for the drinks was politely declined. This is how you gain the trust of your customers. THANK YOU! :) This place is definitely now one of our favorites in Glasgow.

Heaven!!!! Been meaning to go for ages and it did not disappoint- had my first creme brûlée in over 4 years, not had one since going vegan. 🌱 I had the burrito bowl and my partner had the soup and mushroom skewers. All of it was just Devine - the only difficulty is choosing what to have🙈 the team were sooo friendly and it was easy dining with the baby and dog in tow. Thank you!! Xo

We had our best meal here in Glasgow. The food is full of flavour and beautiful presented. Highly recommend trying the Lemongrass Tofu Bowl, Creme Brulee and the Lemon Tart. The service was exellent too. Shame we're leaving today otherwise we would have returned to try something else.

A really good vegan eatery. I'm not even a vegetarian but I really enjoyed my food, it was cooked perfectly, presented well and was delicious and satisfying.

The meal and service were great! Very friendly waitress and the meal, entirely vegan, was excellent and at a good price! I highly recommend it, plus the presentation of the dishes was very beautiful :) I had the soup of the day, very tasty, and a vegan burrito also very tasty. At the end of the meal I also had a loose ginger/lemon tea, very good to finish the meal. Go for it :)

Great breakfast this morning before a high power series of meetings. I have my Glasgow meetings here every Friday morning. Great location and food is just amazing. Easily the best Plant Based Vegan restaurant in Glasgow.

An unique wee restaurant not far from KelvinGrove park. Me and my partner had a relaxing lunch here after work. The staff’s attentiveness together with the calm atmosphere felt reinvigorating. Food felt healthy and tasty. Definitely a place to go back to 💚.

We had the cauliflower steak, garlic bread and chips. All of which where phenomenal. The mousse and creme brulé were out of this world as well

Great place, lovely vegan food, especially the Buddha bowls. The food is super colourful but most importantly, it's amazingly tasty. It's very well thought-out and each component is tasty on its own, but everything is well balanced together. The staff is attentive and friendly, the ambience very pleasant and toilets are clean and well equipped. Dogs are welcome inside!Not very accessible, as you need to be able to go downstairs to enter. And the coffee is absolutely delicious!

Wow! First time today and definitely not the last. Burgers and sezame tofu fantastic. Kombucha superb. Service excellent. Sitting outside during a pleasant spring day, dogs loved it too, surrounded by plants and eating plants:) Mostly organic whole food plant based meals. Took a while for the dishes to be served which just means they were made fresh! Can't fault it. In fact, best vegan burger we have ever had!!!

I was there today with a large group and the food was next level! They were pretty busy but still delivered a good service and were friendly and helpful. The food was some of the best vegan food I've tried in Glasgow. Nothing disappointed.

Woke up still thinking about this place. Every element of our meal has so much flavour and texture. I had the ramen bowl, the broth was really complex and rush and the udon noodles were lovely and chewy! Great repaved environment inside and the waiting staff were so so lovely. Think this may be my new favourite place. Dessert of raw cherry Bakewell was fantastic too. Thanks for such a ln enjoyable dinner!

I attended Dr Olga's menopause event at Soul Food Kitchen - it was really informative and I will plan to attend more events at Soul Food Kitchen.

rab food, good quantities, great service

I had the Ramen Bowl and Kim Chi which was delicious. The double chocolate slice was also very tasty. Even though we were a large group of 15, the staff were very helpful and made sure we were refreshed and well fed.

An all round lovely experience, I can’t wait to come back and experience more of this! 💕🎉

My colleague's friend recommended Soul Food Kitchen for great vegan food and I can only agree. The service couldn't have been better and the food was absolutely delicious! I'll be going back!

Delicious food. I had the mezze, my OH had the burger and our daughter had the soup. We all loved our food - delicious, beautifully seasoned and well presented. The staff were lovely, efficient and attentive. My only little bit of feedback would be that the bowl that the mezze is served it makes it a bit awkward to eat. A plate would have made it easier to get to the lovely hummus.

There are always a fantastic selection of fabulously tasty food and drinks available. Lovely staff and a changing menu makes Soul Food Kitchen a great place for a meal with friends or family. Lots of different workshops take place too. I highly recommend making a booking soon.

I love Soul Food Kitchen and recently took a group of 50 of my Wellness Hub members for a Festive Lunch! The atmosphere is wonderful, the food absolutely delicious and the staff are so friendly! The new Festive menu is so good, especially the Nut Roast! We were all raving about it! The best place in Glasgow for vegan food! Check it out, you won't be disappointed! 😁

I’ve had two brilliant meals in here recently and thought I should write a review. The staff are warm, very welcoming and efficient. The food is wonderful and the chef clearly understands flavours. I had the Christmas nut roast with a Mother Root and some broccoli on the side. All exquisite. The broccoli had a tahini dressing on it and was outstanding - please do a cook book so I can recreate at home!

Our Wellness Hub Christmas lunch at SoulFood Kitchen was a fab day! We were made very welcome and the food was outstanding and the servers were so cheerful and nothing was too much trouble. I’ve been to SFK several times and just absolutely love the atmosphere, food and welcome! We’ll be back for sure!

A must go in the west side of Glasgow for Vegans and not 😉 lovely staff and food at a reasonable price point

Visited with my partner and was surprised upon entry, at 6pm on a Saturday night, how quiet the place was. There were a handful of customers in the entire restaurant. It was frustrating how slow the service was given that there was nearly a member of staff per table in the restaurant. We waited a good 10 minutes for our table to be cleared after starters whilst 3 staff stood behind the bar chatting - eye contact wasn't an effective method to remedy this. Food wise I ordered the pickled vegetables and pate - these are fresh vegetables that taste like pure vinegar. I'm sat here with heartburn after eating them. The burger was bland and tasteless and the chilli tofu is like someone has gone to Tesco and bought blocks of tofu and a sweet chilli dip and mixed them together in a bowl. The absolute best bit of the night was the waitress letting us know that it was £60 for all of this with a straight face. I will be shocked if this place is still in business this time next year.

Mum and I had lunch here after amazing sauerkraut making class. We had the mezze and chips. Beautiful dish and plenty for 2 people. The mushroom kebabs were amazing… the most delicious oyster mushrooms I’ve ever had. Chips were awesome too. Definitely worth a visit.

Really lovely vegan food. Lots of flavour. Aubergine, corn ribs and pickled veg with dips particularly good. Modern open design is fresh and cool but the atmosphere suffered a little when not as busy in autumn. Food on pricier end but can't fault the quality.

Fantastic vegan menu with lots of tasty options. Highly recommend the risotto or the vegan burger as a main dish. The freshly made juices are also very nice and refreshing. We can't wait to come back again!

Loved the vibe and the food was just truly amazing. The service was top class too. The waitresses had the biggest and most beautiful smile ever. Certainly made our evening. Thank you so much! Hope to go there again when I’m back in the summer. The chunky chips were just heavenly and avocado butter smooth and the Turmeric Chai Latte ahhhhh just so wonderful. Highly recommend! Good value for money.

From Dusty “Cyclone” Moreau, it’s a 10/10. Insane selection of gorgeous vegan meals. Staff were very friendly, kind, and welcoming. Ample seating. The chips were to die for. 100% serious, never a joke. I adored these chips, I loved them with all my heart. Put me down as their emergency contact: Miss Dusty “Cyclone” Moreau (I never married).

I wouldnt normally leave a poor review as I like to support vegan businesses and don't want to be unfair on a place, however we were so disappointed by the whole experience that I felt like I had to. Went here for lunch as we used to love this place and the big Buddha bowls. However they have completely changed the menu and upon arrival werebtold quite a few of the items on the menu were not available as they were busy yesterday. They also didnt seem to have any cakes in the glass cabinet at the front. I got the green goddess salad which was supposed to have tofu and broccoli in it but it didn't seem to have much, if any. So basically £7 for a large, browning lettuce leaf in dressing. My partners food came out super late. The waitress was very apologetic to be fair and said we could have some money off our bill (though this didn't happen when we went to pay at the front so). I'm not sure if they were just having a bad day, as both tables to either side of us had problems with their food which required it being sent back to the kitchen, but to be honest we won't return. Such a shame because we used to really love it here and would bring our friends. The old menu was amazing and such good value for money.

Visited for lunch and sat in the sunny courtyard. Wonderful friendly service - nothing was too much trouble. Had freshly squeezed watermelon juice - recommended and it was delicious. Risotto was excellent too. All in all a great restaurant, passionate about their menu and welcoming.

I'm only docking a star as there were so many options not available the night we went, multiple starters and sides, one of the mains and one of the desserts had all sold out which was annoying as I'd been looking forward to the tempeh ramen all day! Nevertheless, the food we ordered was delicious, as a vegan I love that there are so many options and everything is fresh. The staff are so lovely and it's a nice atmosphere right round the corner from some cute bars. Would absolutely return and hopefully try the ramen next time!

Popped in for the 1st time today for some lunch with my brother & wasn’t disappointed at all, service with a smile, lovely chatty waiting staff all happy to assist, food was unbelievable, prices not bad also & well worth it as a package. Will most definitely be back here.

Cosy vegan restaurant. The food was delicious, the waiting time okay and the friendly staff outstanding.

Amazing vegan restaurant. I’m blown away honestly. They are Dog friendly, indoor and outdoor seating available also 🐶. Quite a few options have soy in, which can make it hard for people with intolerances or allergies so I would suggest adding a few soy free options too, that’s my only suggestion.

New favourite restaurant. So, so tasty we just loved everything. We shared the Mediterranean platter the mushrooms were unbelievable. The chilli tofu was my favourite and I’m not much of a tofu fan usually. And a few other dishes. The wine was delicious, the staff were very friendly. We will be back!

We had a table outside. No-one refilled the water, no one shared any signs of acknowledgement from the staff. After 30 minutes of waiting, we asked the service for an update. A few minutes later, we received one plate out of four that we ordered and quickly have been advised that it's not for us. Then we've been advised that the food will be ready in another 10 minutes. We left without eating as we had a bus to catch. I would not come back to try again.

We ate here multiple times on our trip to Glasgow and everything was absolutely delicious.

Had a lovely 3 course lunch here with my husband and we both enjoyed it. Friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere, good for families too. We had the meze and the burger, both recommended. A large selection of cakes ( see pic)

Dropped in for a late lunch, what a delicious treat we had. The food is beautifully presented and seasoned. I had soup of the day- spiced sweet potato and smoked beetroot with charred broccoli on soba noodles. What taste sensations my mouth was in heaven . My partner had the soul food bowl and he was equally enraptured. Definitely check out this beautiful restaurant . Friendly service and relaxed surroundings make a wonderful and complete experience

Had a great experience here. The food was top notch, and our server was a lovely person to interact with. Sat out on the lower patio area which was great with all the flowers and plants about. Would definitely go again!

Very impressed by this lovely cafe. The service was very friendly. Drinks include some excellent tea blends and fresh smoothies. The food was all really fresh, tasty and had a variety of textures and flavours.

I visited early on a Thursday afternoon as was looking for a fully vegan place, and was quickly helped by staff and taken to a table. Place was quite spacious, music was pleasant, looked clean, not too busy at that time. The food options all seemed very interesting reading through the menu. I decided to go for the soup of the moment with gluten free bread as a starter and superfood salad bowl as a main. Both were quite flavourful, and felt like a belly hug on a cold rainy day. I did not have any dessert, but all offerings sounded delicious. Staff was chatty and friendly, and the whole overall experience was very positive. It was all reasonably priced, and great to see many of their options were gluten free too!

This is such a wonderful vegan restaurant! Second time visiting for dinner so far this year and both times the food and service has been excellent. The food is so fresh and full of flavour. Would definitely recommend and I’ll definitely be back.

I dont know what has happened to the quality of food in the past few months. I have fully supported this place and was always delighted to visit, but the nourish/super food bowls have been really poor, especially the tofu. The tofu has been very dry, sometimes overcooked and too salty. The staff are always really nice and helpful, but my bad experience of the quality is food is no longer a one off. Something has changed for the worse in the last 6 months.
