Think it's bad that you don't get a bit of salad with every order...my side of potatoes were rock hard! Usually love this Indian food but 2nites was very disappointing

We ordered vegetarian food. While ordering we told them to specifically make them spicy. While going in, we didn't have high hopes. However when we got the food we were pleasantly surprised that the items were made spicy and also tasteful. Please note : Tell them specifically if you need the food to be spicy in any of the UK Indian restaurants. By default they make it bland to cater to everyone's need. We learned the lesson from past experience in other places! The price was also very reasonable. One of the best indian food we have eaten. Staff was very friendly too. The lighting seems to be little dark for our comfort.

Was confused as to why i didn’t see any Indians reviewing this place and now I know why. ITS SO BLAND. Genuinely the food is not good, the picture of rice is meant to be Biryani but it tastes entirely of cardamom and nothing else (for £13), we were all super disappointed. Please don’t get it from here. Also they don’t provide sauces or anything with the chicken which is a huge surprise for me. Yeah give it a miss.

I ordered delivery and it took almost 2 hours to arrive. Couldn’t get any updates from the app because it was delivered by their staff. The food taste amazing until there’s hair in my food. I didn’t notice until it was in my mouth and I had to take it out only to realise it’s hair. Cleanliness should have been observed. Really hope the restaurant could get back to me because I think making a call to the restaurant won’t change anything.

Best Chicken Tikka Kebab I have ever had! The staff were lovely too! And even got student discount!

It's the second best Indian restaurant I've been to (the first one is in Lancaster). We came at 10:30pm, we were all alone in the restaurant by ourselves with my sister and the food and service were absolutely amazing. We have the greatest time thanks to this torrific place. Thank you again so very much for your kindness!

Called in on a Monday night. We were the only diners for a while . I’m really shocked as the freshness, quality and quantity of food was top notch. Not from the area I can strongly recommend this restaurant.

Fantastic customer service. Amazing freshly made Indian food, we were a party of 15 and we thoroughly enjoyed the food. We had mixture of Bhuna, Bryani, Butter Chicken. Generous portions, exceeded expectations.

Had Dinner Two nights in a row, the food was that good. Made our stay in Belfast even better. Great food, and lovely staff.

Pathetic, colonozied indian food !! Only the name sounds india not the food . Weird flavors uncooked curry gravy ,leftover chickens [#socalledkebab]. If your indian friends suggest please make them read this review! Before you dare hell !! Is there there a way to get refund !

Delicious food and for a good price

Tasty food but staff sneaked a 10% service fee onto our bill which is ridiculous its not Irish/British culture to do this and they are just being greedy. Bill is then presented to the customer and the customer is in the awkward position that they are forced to pay 10% extra or ask for it to be removed + reprinted which is embarrassing for everyone at the table + staff . I or my family will not visit this place again. well done Sonali staff you sneaked 10% off us but you lost a lifetime customer who would have gave you far more profit than the 10% you just got.

Haven't ordered from the Sonali in a while, it is a bit pricey but food was delicious & delivered in an hour! Yummy!

There was no keema in my keema naan ruined my meal there was a bit of keema colour but no keema and let’s face it the price is high enough to get keema

The food was super tasty but it was an odd environment. I also got told rice came with my meal but found I was charged extra for it on the receipt. I checked the Deliveroo menu afterwards and the rice should have been free with the meal. Overall a little disappointed. Thankfully the food tasted nice though.

After searching for new Indian nearer us, we can't find anywhere as good as Sonali. They do, consistently, the best tandoori mixed grill in Belfast.

A very friendly chef and crew. Although the prices were a little bit out of students' budget, it was worth the try! The portions were enormous, so I recommend sharing.

The best curry in Belfast. We've tried so many of the Indian restaurants in Belfast and Sonali is by far the most authentic. Great menu, everything we ordered was perfect and the staff where extremely friendly. Been three times now and every time is great!

The service of the restaurant was good as well as the food. I have not dine in here due to covid, however done with the take away food. The food quality, quantity and taste was also good and with reasonable price.

Great Indian food for a bargain! Their vegetarian sides are a great portion, only a bit smaller than the mains. Picking up take out was seamless and the staff were wearing masks. I would highly recommend this as a great take out option!

Ordered from Uber Eats and everything was delicious! Maybe a bit too pricey for take out, but will definitely be dining in as soon as they reopen as it was so delicious and good quality, can imagine it is lovely to eat out at with a group.

Used the app which had a handy timer and notification to let you know when the order was ready. We arrived before the countdown was finished and the order was already ready, however it must have been ready much sooner than the app said because our food was very cold. Chips were barely cooked, garlic naan was absolutely flavourless. We were very disappointed with our food

Excellent customer service and the food is so very tasty and it’s the best Indian food I’ve tasted in a long while.

Our first visit to Sonali this evening, but it will not be our last. The service was truly exceptional, a relaxed beautiful environment, AMAZING food throughout and very generous portions. Every bite was so enjoyable, and although we were eventually full up, we couldn't resist finishing off our dishes, even the beautiful pilau rice and naan breads. I highly recommend Sonali and can't wait to go back. 5 stars

Best Indian food and restaurant never fails

Lamb Madras Balti ordered....had the heat but I think Uncle Ben is the chef....not even served in a Balti dish, not what I was expecting reading the rating....maybe a trip to the mainland for some tips is the answer!

What a wonderful place, the waitress is friendly, food is delicious, price is very reasonable, place has a good vibe to it, very cozy, good for any day and always better than expectation, ive tried all their spicy food, always reasonably spicy and fresh most importantly!

Delicious food, poppadoms and dips were lovely, got the prawn masala and the prawns were cooked perfectly not rubbery at all and the garlic and peshwari naan was to die for. The waitress was lovely and very attentive too, highly recommended 5 star service will definitely be back

Amazingly had a very bad experience here!! Lentils in the Dal were half boiled. Chapati and naan that were served, seemed like as if they had oven heated those we get in super markets. Paneer curry was pathetic. Staff were kind and courteous.

1st time going and it certainly didn't disappoint. High quality food along with great service will definitely be back very soon. So good in fact that my 7 year old said it was as good as pizza,if you knew him you would know that's the highest of compliments!

I visited with a friend of mine with a Groupon deal midweek. The lamb jalfrezi was really tasty although the veg wsa on the chunky side - depends if that is your thing! The service was also excellent. We will definitely be back!

Fuimos para la cena del domingo. El restaurante estaba tranquilo. Nos sentamos en una mesa junto a la ventana. Teníamos poppadoms y chutneys para empezar que dio en el clavo, seguido de un cordero y un pollo ajo Patia con arroz pilau y nan. Toda la comida era deliciosa y el personal eran gente encantadora.

Amazing food and really great prices

Estuve aquí con mi otra mitad por primera vez como me habían dado un vale para una cena para dos.Al llegar nos recibió un miembro del personal muy agradable y nos preguntó si nos ad una preferencia de donde quieres sentarte. Música de fondo agradable no demasiado ruidoso, así que puedes oír mientras estás allí.Tuve el Pollo Tikka Masala con arroz pilau y keema naan regados con una fría cerveza cobra. Mi novia tenía el Mango Makhani, y le encantó. Probé un poco y era también muy buena. Ella también tenía un naan peshwari. Ambos platos estaban deliciosos y sin duda volveré si estoy en el centro de la ciudad de nuevo.

El propietario del restaurante el capricho personal inhumanly (esto es historia detrás). Él ridícula como un perro y su idioma es como un perro hacia su personal. El tipo de personal que emplea: estudiantes (que es impotente, cuyo nivel de inglés es malo para conseguir un empleo en la tendencia principal) o aquellos que no tiene parientes o amigo en la ciudad. Great place to go with a group of people

My husband and l were there on Thursday. Service was very good. I had a Balti and my husband had a Dhansak. Big portions but unfortunately a little bland for our tastes.

Father and daughter run this restaurant better than any indian restaurant in Belfast with 5+ staff,well done you 2 keep up the good work,great service,fast service,the daughter well spoken very polite,nice atmosphere and good food at a very good price,father was very busy working in the kitchen.So get to this lovely little gem of a restaurant and you will not need a check book.

This is a very friendly, warm and welcoming restaurant, the staff are very attentive and the young lady working as the waitress is very good at what she does and very knowledgable, the food here along with the ambiance is fantastic, I had the Naga curry the first night and was so taken with the quality of the place I went back the next night and ate from the early bird menu, it was out of this world, well done keep it up.
