Terrible ! The service was extremely slow ! We waited over an hour for our plates to be cleared and over 15 minuets between drinks , we had to ask the waiter, who was wiping an empty table next to us, to clear our plates and empty glasses from our table. We complained to a senior member of staff about the waiting times but nothing was done and it did not improve! We had to go to the bar to collect our drinks ourselves, as we could see them sat on the bar waiting for us but no one brought them over ! We asked for the bill it did not come and after asking a second time it came incorrect (+£35)! The waitress that sat us down and too our original order (Megan) was lovely and fab at her job but unfortunately the rest of the staff on tonight were awful and very lazy! We were told it was due to how busy it was this evening but we counted 11 empty tables ! After booking for our friends birthday meal we are very disappointed that her evening was spoiled but such poor, slow service! When we asked for discount of our bill or a free drink for our wasted time we were told this was not possible - we WILL NOT be back!

Really lovely meal - 2 great steaks with chips and slaw. Guray provided excellent service.

Joe was our waiter and he was amazing! The food was incredible and the drinks were lush! Fully recommend if you want a great bottomless brunch!

We popped in for a good steak dinner with the children. There was a messy menu that was difficult to find, and the staff did little to find alternatives that were free of allergens. They gave us two tablets and left. I took the child out who was restless and when I returned I looked at the menu. The server asked if I was ready to order and I asked for one more minute. They never came back to take my order so I gave up eating there. Would not recommend coming here if you need accommodation.

We came for the bottomless brunch. The food was good and came out promptly (we did a pre order) But drinks were very slow to come so didn't have the bottomless feel And the service wasn't great - the staff member was not engaged with serving us and it did feel at points he was avoiding taking drinks orders (which made the above comment slower)

Came here last year and the food was decent, just a burger with some chips and a side of Mac and cheese. So this year I returned during my work trip and thought I’d order an actual steak dish seeing as that’s the speciality but was really disappointed with the quality of the food. I ordered their version of surf and turf but the steak was awful. I asked for medium rare but honestly it was more rare than anything else, it was so chewy and not cooked enough. Only about 20% of it was actual edible meat the rest was gristle and fat. Plus there were only 3 prawns on the whole thing, which weren’t cooked great either. The beef dripping sauce pot was half filled. The sweet potato fries were okay.

Went for a bottomless brunch midday on a weekday. Food options were really good, and good amount of options for both food and drink- will be coming again. And great service by Banky!

Steaks it's always amazing 👏 We all loved T-Bone

I was treated on Fathers day, but on arrival we were told there wasn't a wait for food but after ordering we waited over an hour for our meals. When the meals arrived all except one was cold, when we sent it back they said we had to wait at least 45 minutes for the meals to be recooked as other tables had been seated. The restaurant was only half full at the busiest point! This is the worst restaurant I have been to in my life and the customer service is appalling! If you are thinking of going here just forget it! Go to Miller and Carter where you will get better food and service from a team who know what they are doing.

The steak was excellent. Would definitely recommend the beef tacos, karaange chicken and the prawns. Great value for money. I also ordered the Chik truffle burger but unfortunately there was hardly any falour of truffle so that was ok. Definitely recommend

Had the rice bowl with the chicken as a topping and the steak burger as well as the dirty fries and nachos for the side. The rice bowl was very filling and was great and the burger was amazing as well, the chicken was very well grilled and moist as well as the burger. The nachos and dirty fries were a great side both crispy and crunchy. The guacamole on the nachos were great too. I had a highly charismatic and funny server, Joe. #JOE

We stumbled across this restaurant whilst in Cheltenham. Staff very friendly and informative,Opted for small plates to share and couple of side dishes which was just enough for lunch. Food very tasty. We would return!

We came as a group of four based on a review from my friend who said that this place grills the best stakes in Cheltenham! And they lived up to all our expectations. Food was amazing! Oleksandr was very kind and helped a lot with order! We had different types of steaks but I would like to emphasize how delicious was a Flat Iron Steak! Definitely recommend this place! We will be back!

Absolutely incredible! Food was to die for, the cocktails were delicious and our waiter Joe was awesome! Really attentive and quick, also overheard it was my partner's birthday and so he brought him a little cake. Didn't charge us for this extra or anything! I can't wait to go back! Also my first experience of with a flat iron and chicken steak and it was sublime ❤️ LOVED IT!

Really lovely guy called Guray was our server. Very quick nice and professional. We had the flat iron stake and the rump. Both really good cuts of meat. The skin on fires could do with a little more cook time as they were flat and not crispy at all. We had 2 pinacoladas 2 fries and 2 cuts of meat with 2 extra sauces. About £50 for all of it

Heard a mixture of things about son of steak before trying it so me and my husband wanted to give it a go. We went on a Wednesday night and the place was dead therefore the atmosphere gets a low rating. However, the steaks were really nice and the service was Alex was amazing. Would definitely come again.

I have been to this restaurant twice now and it was exceptional both times. The food is gorgeous, the staff are very friendly and it was a pleasant experience from start to finish. Guray provided a great service and was very welcoming and helpful throughout our recent visit. I look forward to visiting here again the next time I am in Cheltenham.

driver was sent to wrong address on the other side of town. he called to tell me this. when I asked him if he was bringing my food to me he said only if I gave him petrol money. I told him "NO" & he refused to bring my meal. then he had the cheek to mark my order as "delivered". I am disgusted by the service & furious at his attitude. never will I use just eat again plus I will be telling as many people as I possibly can about this incident.

We arrived mid evening with maybe 6 tables already eating at the restaurant so not very busy. We wanted to sit outside but we're informed if we sit outside We have to order online through the app (weird considering there was hardly anyone there, but ok). Our food came out very fast - probably pre cooked I would guess. We had to ask to be given a knife and fork. I ordered the dirty fries, which are advertised as loaded with cheddar cheese. Unfortunately, as you can see in the photos, there were probably 10 shavings of cheese on there. The food tasted nice but didn't match up to the expectations that the look of the restaurant gives. I hate to give bad reviews as I feel so ungrateful in doing so, and I am thankful that I am lucky enough to be in the position to do so. In this instance I would just like a bit more effort all round really.

Very over priced for a steak and the portion size is terrible. For the price of their steaks you'd expect it to come with a side of salad or fries but no you have to pay extra for it. And the worst thing is I'm still hungry

Just terrible. The place is empty on a Friday evening and there’s a reason. Staff seem almost surprised to see you. Chips are truly awful - the soggy oily brown kind you get when you stop bothering to change the oil and fail to clean the cooker. Mushrooms were dire. Chicken wing meat was like mushy paper. The place is kitted out like it’s trendy, but it’s just trashy. 5 ounce rare fillet steak was overdone to medium, yet cold as a fridge in the middle - an impressive feat if it wasn’t so disgusting. With the 20 minute wait to be served we should have just queued at Nando’s.

This wasn’t our first visit to Son of Steak but it will be our last. The food was really disappointing. We had the 12oz NY strip steak which the majority was just fat and gristle. The steaks were also very chewy and had no flavour. We had the loaded brisket chips with this, the chips were overcooked and had barely any toppings. The starters on the other hand were delicious. It’s disappointing as it’s always been nice before now and for the price we paid, the quality was definitely not worth it. We won’t be returning.

Nice setting with great presentation. Steaks were priced well and most of our small group felt the cuts of meat were excellent. All of the steaks were undercooked from the level ordered (we are all experienced travellers and steak eaters). Service was average at best. Finding out at the end that there was no way to split the bill was very frustrating.

Had a great experience at this restaurant, needing a quick meal before exploring the evening scene in town. The server Sara was fantastic and made sure I had everything I needed including the sauces 😋 The food tasted fantastic! If you’re in town for a trip I can highly recommend a visit!

Lovely place to grab a quick bite in the evening. Opted for the Ribeye. I received a tender and juicy piece of meat, cuisson was perfectly on point. Overall good value for money. Service was more than good, only downside for me was that the limited beer offer on the menu. This place would definitely benefit from a wider range of beers.
