Great value for money especially the kids menu. Excellent service by Guray. Will definitely be returning.

Giroy (apologies if I've spelt your name wrong there :') ) was really polite and helpful, he showed us the deals on the menu and offered wonderfull service. The food way lovely and filling.

We visited here for my friend’s 18th and the service was absolutely amazing. They accommodated a large group of 13 of us and had super fast service at the same time. Our server Guray was lovely and even sang my friend happy birthday. Shout out to all the lovely employees who work here!

Served by Kirsty and Meg Food was amazing both my partner and I had the steak and chicken combo, meat was delicious. My partner had the peppercorn sauce and I had the beef dripping sauce (served in a pot not all over meal) ordered 4 sides between us as very reasonably priced. The southern fried mushrooms, rice and chips were lovely! Can't fault the food, good portions and great quality. The only reason we marked down atmosphere was because a large group were getting louder and louder and still being served tray of alcoholic drinks despite them disturbing other diners. Despite that we would definitely return 😁 10/10 banging!!

Lovely meal and friendly service from Nick. Our burgers were very tasty and came out in good time but we were not rushed. Ultimately, we booked this restaurant over others as there was a deal advertised on main son of steak website (pictured) which I screen shot for half price mains which I didn’t realise until asking for the bill to apply discount-that promotion was in 2020! Why has website not been updated since then to save my embarrassment and we could have booked other offers available elsewhere.

Service was slower then James may and the staff were stood around talking in a empty restaurant. The food was nice but not very good value at all £20 for a singular steak with no dressing or sides, just a piece of meat on a slate made me feel very unwelcome £4 for a Pepsi max I have to get up and get myself is a little out of order. The decor was poor not really a fan of sitting on a bench while trying to tuck into a steak. Overall I wouldn't come back even though the food was pretty good the value for money is just really not good

First time coming here has been a great experience. Meals are priced well, staff and friendly, food came out quickly and was cooked to perfection. This is a place that really cares about standards. Can't wait to visit again.

Been going here for a while was 1 of my favourite places to eat in cheltenham but since the menu changed something else must have changed too, went a few weeks ago wasn't great as our food came out at different times including stuff that was supposed to be on the same plate and food wasn't great but it was busy so thought they were having a bad day, decided to go again today as it's my birthday and it's was worse, my favourite burger from here is the steak and truffle burger and it came out (all together mostly) the burgers in the bun I wouldn't expect to see in any restaurant the only thing I can guess must of come from the frozen food section in a supermarket, there were 2x tiny dry and slightly burnt pattys(for size reference they were smaller then a McDonald's kids burger patty and not even as nice) it use to be 1 big juicey meaty burger and it was when I went a few weeks ago, most of the food wasn't good the kids burger had the same patty but no cheese and the fries were not great, kind of wise I'd of gone to burger king round the corner, service wasn't bad this time but I is our last time going to son of a steak. Very disappointed

Went with the Girlfriend for New Year’s Day had an amazing time. Gutsy and Joe really made the time special for our first visit. Food was very flavourful and cocktails were top tier perfectly presented. Can’t wait to go back to see them again. Thank you guys ❤️

Went to Son of Steak while on business in Cheltenham. Flat Iron steak with sides and a beer! Just what was required - and the service from Guray was excellent too. Will be back again.

Went for bottomless munch at 12:30. Was a bit quiet when we arrived but Joe made our meal so great. Made us all some brilliant cocktails throughout our stay and was so welcoming and accommodating. The steak was fantastic and the flavours were brilliant. 10/10 would come here again

We had lovely birthday meal to celebrate my daughter turning 17. The staff found a candle, sang happy birthday to her and she was really excited. They also gave her a dessert. The food and service was great. Joe Nikita and staff were all friendly and excellent.

Went with family for a dinner. The food was fantastic as well as service. We were welcomed by a lovely lady who navigated us to our table. Seats were really comfortable and the atmosphere inside was welcoming. Thanks to our waiter Sasha for providing advices on combinations of steaks and wine which we ordered. It really was fantastic.

Visited on Sunday. Place was quiet and cosy.Gurgy took our order very promptly and food and drinks arrived really quick. Gurgy made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. He checked after we finished that we were definitely happy with food. He was extremely helpful and friendly.

Avoid - I went for dinner with a friend at this venue, and it was pretty shambolic. Bad service impacted food quality. A discount was offered by the waiter, but then denied by management. Upon arrival, we were immediately told that no flat irons were available. This removed a lot of choice but was understandable. I ordered an alternative and we enjoyed our drinks. The waiter returned 5 mins later to tell me the alternative I ordered wasn't available either. I then decided on a sirloin steak. When the food arrived, my friends' food was there, as were my sides, but not my steak. The waiter apologised and investigated. My steak had not been cooked. Our food was returned to the heater, and the waiter promised a discount. All our food eventually arrived, but as most of it had been under a heater for so long, it wasn't great. When the bill arrived, it contained no discount. When challenged, the waiter said the manager had denied a discount. Not a pleasant experience.

Went here for food and had the bottomless munch only £40 to have unlimited cocktails the food choice is good big range of cocktails. Food was lovely and full of flavour . Only minor thing I would day it was abit unorganised as we had to ask multiple times where one of our sides were, also ask for a cocktails more than one time maybe next time keep 1 waiter to the table not have 2 different ones. But good service as was apologetic and quickly sorted it. They weren't busy at the time we were there. Normally you have to pre book a bottomless munch but the boss of the restaurant very kidney allows us to have it 😀

When we walked in staff immediately sat us down and had our tables cleaned. Throughout our service the staff was very friendly, cracking jokes, and making us feel at home. The food was quick but was perfect, we ordered: 2x Sirloin Steaks (Rare and medium rare) which were cooked and seasoned perfectly, 2x Hand cut skin on fries (which were amazing), 1x Fried button mushrooms, which felt fresh and crispy 1x onion loaf, wasn't sure what it was prior to ordering, but honestly was gorgeous, felt like a massive onion ring 1x Halloumi fries, so moist yet so soft, made perfectly 1x Set of beef tacos, soft shell, with a little kick, felt tender and tasteful We were served by two young lads and what seemed like the manager, all 3 made myself and my girlfriend so comfortable with quick service and an understanding of the menu, it made our anniversary great. The cocktails were so fruitful and felt perfect, a nice balance between flavour and alcohol. Will definitely recommend to my friends and may attend again one day as it's something definitely worth a second trip.

Food was very nice, the Barbacoa dirty fries were especially nice and whilst a sharer were good for a single person to eat. However, we were expecting to go in for the Bottomless Munch which was on posters around the area, although on arriving we were informed that I'm the small print on the bottom of the menu it can only be booked 24 hours in advance which wasn't made clear on any poster. Service although was good whilst ordering failed to bring over some more drinks until approached twice more. However, it was one of our parties birthdays of which they did a nice celebration song and brought out a birthday brownie and candle which was nice. Toilets were clean and very nicely designed single cubicles with wood finishings.

We had a very kind young waiter,Nikita, he made our Tuesday evening feel special plus the steaks were just delicious .Good luck with your new role .

Went here last weekend for a family meal and all 8 of us were disappointed with the food and service. Steak was burnt on the outside, burgers came not even luke warm - which the server did kindly change for another one but took the chips from the cold burger which we had paid for and did not give us more chips - and apple pie dessert came with the smallest pot of custard which was not worth the price. Plates were cleared from the table when not all of us had finished which was quite rude, and the food was just not up to standard with the price of it. Overall we had high hopes for this restaurant but ended up leaving really disappointed.

Very poor quality steaks for a steak house. Also poor value for money, £20 for a supermarket quality steak with no sides is excessive. I normal recommend most places I eat but i would never recommend here, try anywhere else other than here.

Food was tasty, service very poor, no etiquette at all. We were celebrating a birthday, I hadn't finished eating, but the lad came and cleared everything off the table and left just my plate and glass as I was still far from finished. It made me feel uncomfortable sar eating with a cleared table whilst my family watched on. Never had this happen before, very poor service. The tomato sauce was not Heinz , the bottle was Heinz but the sauce was not.

We ate from the lunch time menu and it was brilliant. I'd recommend stopping by if you're in the area. Really well cooked and seasoned food, all good.

Arrived without a booking after being turned down by 4 other restaurants because they were fully booked on a Saturday night, so our expectations were relatively low! However we were shown to a table and the restaurant quickly filled to capacity between 7 and 7.30. We were served by very friendly staff all of whom really wanted to ensure that everything was ok with our meals which they were! We both had steaks, which were both cooked as ordered and shared 4 portions of sides between us, all of which were good “commercial standard flavours” One issue was that with no soft furnishings the restaurant was extremely noisy when full!

I came here with some friends for dome lunch to try something different. Had the beaky blinder and it was lovely!! Guray served us and was a lovely server :)

Strangely the food came out at different times, I had my chips 10 minutes before my burger. It was apparently because we ordered online and not with the waitress, but we all supplied our table number so that shouldn’t matter. The chips cold and soggy when they arrived, and the burger wasn’t the best but I don’t think that could be helped, I just genuinely think Son of Steak have bad burgers. The service wasn’t bad at all really. And atmosphere was okay for a Saturday night in Cheltenham. Next time, would just be nice to have all my food at the same time, and still warm.

Came here for some lunch, got steaks cuz it's a steak house, our server was absolutely fantastic, quick service, very professional, I think his name was Joe, I will be returning for him, the food was also excellent, steak cooked perfectly, very impressed 👍 10/10 all round, the staff are smashing it 😁

3/4mile from hob to home and it is stone cold. The quality of the food is good, but if I order £45 of HOT food, why is it stone cold on delivery? Not good enough. Oh, "Korean BBQ sauce isn't, its HP curry sauce, there's a bottle of it in our fridge.

I visited the place since it opened however has been losing quality per year. At first we used to go every moth like twice a month at least but since last time we were there we decided to dint come back.. We decided to give it another go and visited it again I ordered a blue ribeye and the minimum thing to expect from the order is to be hot not cold (like fridge cold) we were in total 7 of us so the most reasonable thing to do is to temper the meat after removing it from the fridge before doing it specially if it need to be blue… maybe doing the other 6 orders before the blue one? However the meat was fridge cold -and it’s not cheap- it’s not the first time it happened the first time I asked to warm it up and the answer was “you asked it to be blue” yep, I asked it to be blue not cold… Crispy onions were good however one of us got a red onion instead of white (which is sweeter) and was not as crispy and underdone in the middle Chicken in the burger too dry but edible I won’t repeat again sadly and won’t recommend it neither

Came here for other half’s birthday meal I ordered the mac and cheese Barbacoa burger which was absolutely phenomenal but when it came to the steak my other half ordered it was a nightmare you’d think a place named son of steak would know how to cook a steak asked for medium rare sirloin but came out well done the first time sent back and asked for medium rare again and then came out mooing to me Not the best experience but overall restaurant is quite decent just wouldn’t order a steak if you don’t want to send it back

Very nice meal on a Sunday before visiting cinema next door. We had a very helpful waiter. Food was good and two cocktails for £12.50 were good value, but they have to be the same which I dont think it mentions on the menu.

A bit disappointed with the meals. Been here several times, but the children burgers have got considerably smaller. I had a flat iron steak which was just warm. I had the barracuda fries the onion on top were soft and not crisp as usual and the fries were cold and really soggy. Not much pulled pork either

Usually Me and my Girlfriend have a good experience here, but this visit was a poor one. We have been going here every week for atleast a month now because the food was really good, but my last 2 visits have been poo. Last week we had the £30 sharer which was pretty much just fat but we looked past it because it was a one off in our eyes. But our visit yesterday was very bad, both steaks very fatty and basically just gristle, mine not as bad but my partner had to leave half a steak because there was no meat left, it arrived warm ish and even the sides were luke warm. I did bring this up to staff and they offered us a dessert which I declined as we were leaving anyway, so they said we couldn’t have a substantial discount because most of the steak had been eaten, but I think you can see from the photos that is almost half a steak. We got 15% off the bill making it £57 which is still a lot for a very poor meal.

Unfortunately we did not have a good meal. Burger was dry. Difficult to choose a Gluten Free meal as their menus were not clear. Staff were nice though.

Banky was a great server - friendly, fun and professional. Couldn't ask for better service. Food was tasty and great price.

Terrible ! The service was extremely slow ! We waited over an hour for our plates to be cleared and over 15 minuets between drinks , we had to ask the waiter, who was wiping an empty table next to us, to clear our plates and empty glasses from our table. We complained to a senior member of staff about the waiting times but nothing was done and it did not improve! We had to go to the bar to collect our drinks ourselves, as we could see them sat on the bar waiting for us but no one brought them over ! We asked for the bill it did not come and after asking a second time it came incorrect (+£35)! The waitress that sat us down and too our original order (Megan) was lovely and fab at her job but unfortunately the rest of the staff on tonight were awful and very lazy! We were told it was due to how busy it was this evening but we counted 11 empty tables ! After booking for our friends birthday meal we are very disappointed that her evening was spoiled but such poor, slow service! When we asked for discount of our bill or a free drink for our wasted time we were told this was not possible - we WILL NOT be back!

We popped in for a good steak dinner with the children. There was a messy menu that was difficult to find, and the staff did little to find alternatives that were free of allergens. They gave us two tablets and left. I took the child out who was restless and when I returned I looked at the menu. The server asked if I was ready to order and I asked for one more minute. They never came back to take my order so I gave up eating there. Would not recommend coming here if you need accommodation.
