Something Fishy in Lewisham

The pie mash and liquor me and mum had was soo good. Compared to Manzies on Deptford high street, something fishy absolutely smashed this. I had been fancying it for a while and tried it Saturday afternoon. £5.70 one pie one mash lots of liquor and vinegar. No fat in pies and mash perfect. Surprised as I don’t think people know about it…Thankyou 😁

This place is absolutely disgusting, I’ve ordered food for my pregnant wife and as she’s gone to taken a bite out of her food there was a long piece of metal wire followed by 2 more pieces in her battered sausage and nearly cut her mouth open, please do not eat from here or order anything online, it is disgusting and I wouldn’t rate this restaurant 1 out of 5, poor poor experience and trading standards will be called in the morning

Something Fishy is always our go-to, and we pass several other fish and chip shops to get there. Friendly staff, great food usually cooked fresh to order. Good portion sizes, lovely fish and great value. Can't go wrong

have not been in the uk for sometime and fancied fish and chips and was so glad to pop in here the fish was freshly cooked small medium or large same as the chips the staff very friendly the price was very good will go again when we are back in that area

Have used this Chip shop for years have a delivery every Friday nite the food is always hot when I receive it nice chips I’m fussy so must be nice for me to like them

I called in for takeaway pie & mash last night 10 mins before closing time, checked they could still serve it with the polite & pleasant man at the counter. Made my order and he passed it through to the kitchen. A female staff member came from the kitchen area looking seriously offended & cross with him making some comments about heating up the mash. I felt very uncomfortable and asked if it would be better if I left as this was unprofessional behaviour from staff. By this time she had returned to the kitchen which was clearly visible from the counter area and to my utter disgust I saw a man blatantly smoking a roll up cigarette. Definitely real smoke, not even a ‘vape’ but proper, illegal fag smoke. I pointed it out to the man at the counter who replied that he keeps telling the smoker not to but he doesn’t listen. I told him it is unacceptable, requested my money back and left the shop. I am very disappointed as this was one of my father’s favourite haunts for pie & mash. I am minded to refer this to environmental health services.

Truly awful experience. They only give half an order and do not refund for your meal being ruined. Absolutely shocking customer service. They obviously don't value their customers and don't care if you will never return rather than refunding meal. No loss to me. There are far better chip shops around anyway!

RUDE staff, no acknowledgement at all during encounter of ordering and paying for food, no please, thank you... One woman stood there eating and drinking whilst serving customers, she did not smile, the size of large fish was a joke - it looked like a goldfish in batter! PPE wouldn't go a miss and the tables were dirty, covered with food from previous customers! I would suggested strongly you go elsewhere.

The best Pie Mash and Liquor in Downham. Its spot on and delivery its quick and easy. This is my new eats on a Friday evening and its cheap. What more can you ask for.

Been bringing my Dad here for pie & mash on and off for the last 10 years. Food went off a year or so ago, but as it was convenient we kept coming. Well, today they were back on form. Greeted with a friendly smile and the pie and mash was smashing. All the tables were spotless and all the food served was obviously freshly cooked. Chips looked delicious but after pie and mash that would just be too naughty!

I could not find a chip chop that delivered but this place does, the food is fab and the staff are really lovely especially their delivery driver female. Their sausage in batter is the best sausage meat and crispy! Chips good quality and generous portions.

Not friendly at all, very bad customer service. Can't comment on the food cos the service had let you down at the beginning. Think twice before you visit. Not recommended.

I had a lovely steamed eels and mash with licker sauce here. The food was great and cheap. The service was ok could be better with training.

Bright and clean with very good fish and chips. The batter is light and crisp and the chips are golden and delicious. They also offer traditional pie and mash and the usual burgers and fry-up fare . Surprisingly affordable at around Six pounds a head although we went for extra beans and proper onion rings. Clean single sex Loos ( no baby change).
