Solti in Edinburgh, City of

My partner is a coeliac and she's also currently feeding our 2 month old who seems to have a cows milk protein allergy at the moment. We're not the easiest to cater for at the moment, but we were really really well looked after. They checked everything carefully and the chef was made aware. The food was absolutely flipping amazing. I had a Jai and saag aloo myself and it was phenomenal. I'll definitely be going back! Thank you for looking after us.

Absolutely wonderful. My party of 3 got seated without a reservation, and our server Stefanos was amazing. Very friendly and chatted us Americans up. Not to mention how amazing the food was!

Naanwich ckn tikka was way too sour, not a lot of meat and thus the ratio was off. Naan was chewy and too thick. Yoghurt sauce was potent if too sour as well. Not worth the price at all

I dined in the Solti restaurant in Edinburgh, Scotland. I found the most perfect restaurant I tried in London and Edinburgh. It is highly recommended to try their dishes.

Extremely great and above all authentic food. Be careful, the food is really spicy if you choose the marked 🌶️ dishes 😅. But I found it really tasty. The service was very warm and took great care of us. Thank you very much for the lovely and delicious evening.

The restaurant offers a large variety of true vegetarian options. You wish you could taste it all. The portions are generous, and the naans are very tasty. Furthermore, it is well situated, very close to the city center, and accessible by foot.

The food was fantastic. The splicing had a Nepalese edge with plenty of chilli. I had a lazy Saturday lunch with friends and everyone enjoyed it. The service was good and the presentation of the dishes was top notch.

Food was really nice. Portions were good too.

Great little restaurant just a 100y from the Festival Theatre. Excellent staff, smiling and helpful. The food was super tasty. I had my usual Lamb Rogan Josh and whilst it was certainly the hottest/spiciest version of said dish I've ever had it was none the worse for it, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Friends Biryani was likewise "hotter" than usual so perhaps it is a trait of this Nepalese restaurant. Overall it was very enjoyable, a table of four including drinks just topped the £100 so also good value. Well worth a visit.

The service was unfair, uninterested and late in eating, and the food was very ordinary We ordered chicken tikka and it was not up to standard We also ordered a shrimp masala, and there were only 5 shrimp in it. In addition, there was a lot of sugar in the masala, and there was no real masala taste. I do not recommend it at all. As for the vegetable samosa, it was just good. When paying, the service was included in the invoice and we asked them to cancel it. They agreed and told us that we had the right to do so by law.

We arrived by chance, Ramesh did everything to find us a table. Not knowing Nepalese cuisine, we asked him for advice... We did well to trust him, the dishes were Delicious!!! Incredible flavors!! RAMESH took great care, a very friendly person 😁 go there with your eyes closed!

We were visiting from the US and had dinner at Solti one night. The food was fantastic. So flavorful and tender. We had the lamb and chicken. I would highly recommend this place!

We dined here on Sunday, 15 September 2024. I'm still dreaming about my meal at Solti! The staff are friendly and attentive. Each bite was a delight, and the presentation just blew us away. Don't miss out on trying their NUTELLA PESHWARI.

We were there on Thursday party of 7 people. We never booked the table but staff managed to get us a table. Few of my friends were vegetarians and we enjoyed everything. Aloo bodi tama was the best. Cocktail was lovely as well. Service was great from start to finish as well. Highly recommend 😊

Booked a table here, 16th Sept 24. So glad we did, it was packed, usually a good sign, the staff were really lovely but most importantly the food was amazing. Can definitely recommend the himalyan lamb pot. Well worth visiting.

The price is high and the taste is good

The lamb leg has no mutton smell and is very spicy. The KORMA is delicious and has been recommended by Amway again. I will try to make it myself next time. The garlic naan is not as delicious as the sweet cookie.

Just go ! All the staff really cool , all the meal as well , u need to try the Raja’s Nihari Gohst, tasty and generous no lie.

Great food and quick service. Not sure there level of one chilli is the same as ours.. But there probably right and we are just wimps.. 😂 So if like us you like the mild look for no chilli's. The rice is also probably big enough to share. If you not looking for a large amount. Or have popadpms/nann with it.

This is the restaurant where I have had the most dinners with my classmates in Edinburgh. My favorite is the leg of lamb (slightly spicy). The other dishes are quite in line with our tastes, and the staff are professional and enthusiastic. It made me have a very unforgettable birthday in a foreign country. I love Solti! Excellent food here. The naan breads with garlic were smeared with herb butter. It was tasty, but it doesn't seem quite the Indian way to me. They have very spicy curries.

Found this place while at the Tattoo. I have an allergy and they could not accommodate it so I had something I really didn’t want.

Last minute find while visiting Edinburgh for the Fringe. Great service, fantastic food and a magician waiter that managed to stop the rain by clicking his fingers. Hopefully be back again but highly recommend.

Super nice dinner, we got a table although lack of reservation but it was just luck and kindness of the manager of the restaurant so make sure you book it ahead. Food 10/10, generous portions but no rice included - needs to be ordered extra. Perfect localisation, energetic music, helpful staff.

Solti restaurant was great 👍🏼 The staff are friendly. The food was delicious. I had King Prawn Korma 😋 and as you can see by my plate, I demolished it x

What a find. Really courteous welcome & service throughout. Himalayan Hotpot, Ma's Butter chicken, paratha bread, naan bread, rice. We polished off the lot. Excellent food. We did book (a 1pm lunch) and glad we did as it was full not long after 1. Happily go back.

My friends and I had a very good dining experience at Solti Nepali restaurant. The food was excellent, and the service was great. We enjoyed a delightful assortment, including garlic naan, butter chicken, Kathmandu chicken, garlic chili chicken, peshwari naan, garlic & cheddar naan, garlic & coriander naan, and samosas. Each dish was flavorful and well-prepared. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a delicious and varied meal!

Wasn't expecting the cocktails to be so on point! Plus the veggie haggis pakora?! Staff was very friendly and made our whole experience great and memorable.

Butter chickenis very nice but the lamb dish is very disappointing, the meat is very chewy with bones, I have to deal with the bones, so suggest asking the servant first if the dish with bones or boneless

A fantastic place! The service was absolutely amazing with all the staff being extremely nice; the cocktail was a fantastic mix of unusual flavours (cocktail name: The Cloud Temple), and all the dishes we ordered were of high quality. None of us liked spicy food so we put focus on non-spicy dishes ( if you are not at all used to spicy food, even the non-spicy dishes will still be a bit spicy for you)

RECOMMENDATION!!! I went to Solti by myself with no reservation today Sat past 6pm and got a last table at the window. the music was a bit too loud and upbeat for eating, but the rest was very good. Ramesh & Grace recommended everything and it was perfect: from beer (Solti-IPA, stellar, blonde, light, fruity, a bit like bavarian wheat beer, but lighter), veggie samosas, and as main course a fresh(!) coriander and garlic naan with Kadai Paneer (mild cottage cheese) w peppers & onion u fresh coriander: to die for! but barely to eat, so much. and no meat needed! I am not a vegetarissn but try to limit meat and this dfinner did not need it! Wanted to try desert but had to waive the white flag…,,very attentive and nice service from all 4 waiters i talked to, small place, intimate, authentic, quiet side street. worth a repetition f sure!!! Thank you Solti team, and particularly the cook(s) !! :)

Amazing Nepalese food here, got the Nihari Gohst which was a beautifully cooked lamb shank that just fell straight off the bone, comes with some nice Basmati and we also got some garlic and coriander naan which was fantastic as well! The waiter brought the wrong bottle of wine, they brought us a £70 bottle by mistake and we didn’t notice because we are a bunch of novices when it comes to wine, but they filled out 3 glasses, we started drinking and noticed after really enjoying it! The manager said apologies and took the rest of the bottle bringing us the one we ordered and giving us those glasses on the house, amazing service and I will be back!

A wonderful and great restaurant, Nepalese cuisine is amazing and I can't recommend it enough! The staff were all very attentive and had a great chat during our evening, the food was outstanding and the place was lovely, Definitely recommend this restaurant and I can't wait to come back next time I'm visiting Edinburgh!
