I visited here with a pay on a Thursday evening. We'd been there before and thought we knew what to expect, but we were wrong. Instead of the what we assumed was a live band from what was advertised outside, It was a guy with disco decks, who clearly didn't know that he was in a place called "soft Rock", because he persisted in playing very loud "heavy meatal/thrash". he didn't look up at all to get any reaction from the customers, just continued doing his own thing. the floor and bar were wet with spilled drinks. Service was reasonably quick, but the staff seemed preoccupied. The were 2 guys at the far end of the bar that seems to be negotiating a transaction. Highly disappointed, we finished our drinks and left, possibly never to return.

Band advertised but only a disco. Very disappointed as had told my friend how good this is for live music.

Ambiente agradable y personal. Cerveza a precios razonables. Me encanta la decoración. Vale la pena un vistazo.

Cheap vodka, unprofessional, angry staff. Cheap spirits that taste of battery acid. Was a good bar. Now it's a dump! Gross. Don't bother.

You're correct; this place has completely gone downhill. But it's not because the Wetherspoons has opened up next door. The Clairville has been open for a number of years, and long before the Soft Rock (now known as 'Rocks') first opened its doors.. It used to be a right good laugh, being reasonably priced, with nice staff and great live music. Now it's an absolute soulless place. "Liscard's venue for the 25's" is full of a lot of people unde that age (which doesn't bother me) with below par live music (no, it wasn't an open mic night), jacked up prices and it's always so stuffy. So. Goddamn. Stuffy. Sort your ventilation out, kid. And your prices. Oh, and they don't serve food anymore. Or smiles. Just don't bother. Seriously. Stanley's Cask or the Telegraph are 10 minutes up the road or a few minutes on the 410. Just do it.

when this pub first opened it sold amazing food and good coffee but now it just seems to cater for all day drinkers, perhaps because Wetherspoons opened up next door.. The rock music on offer is pretty good though.

This place used to be my favourite place to go, the staff were all friendly and fun! 2 girls in particular on the weekends were great, even when the bar was busy they always served with a smile and so polite.. Until we went in a few weeks ago and all new staff and management, the place is so uncomfortable now, a few drinks were served in dirty glasses, beers were flat, the staff were rude and the new manager smelt out the pub of weed, then my male friends saw him snorting in the gents toilets, I think it's disgusting! Never going back

Always thought a lawsuit would happen and it now is. Although the owner says he does not intend to take hard rock customers, this has nothing to do with the fact he is breaching copyright over a trade name and is breaching intellectual property laws as he has used the big chains name but changing one word. The logo is also painfully infringing too, to have a good business is to be creative and take enterprise, not infringe another companies copyrights as a template to make your own business. A simple rebranding will solve everything and customers will not be lost as they have built relationships with staff etc and still like the food and drink on offer

I visited recently and found the service to be very poor. One female member of staff, was very rude and unpleasant. I have to say, she spoilt my visit there and I will not be going again. I think she was the Manager. Very poor customer service in my opinion.

It maybe a small little bar but the food is first class and cheap too. When we went we couldnt eat it all because u got so much for half the price of other mexican restaurants in the area plus theres live music which is a bonus in liscard. Will b retuning soon.

Been here a few times for a drink with friends or bird. You could be anywhere, ie; little guitar bar in US , or personable bar with live music in Wallasey (it IS the latter though to save confusion) . Handy for other pubs and restaraunts too, but none have the unique atmosphere as here, when its going acoustic.Hidden gem

This is very local to us so we've been loads of times. The only drawback I can think of is that they don't take cards. We've had food in there twice and the ribs are absolutely amazing! I recommend them highly! There's always a selection of music on most nights, and drinks are more pricey than the Wetherspoons next door but are definitely worth it!

I have to admit, I approached eating in the Soft Rock Cafe with some intrepidation. Having said that, I have been four times in as many weeks, and on all occasions, I have not been disappointed. Thre of these occasions we have eaten. The SRC offers "Mexican Street Food", which are a cross between Tapas and Taco's. Recommended are the Hot & Spicey Chicken Wings, and their Ribs are to die for! Tender, and with a superb Tangy Sauce they just melt in your mouth. We also had a sort of Seafood Taco, which I was expecting to be Hot, but was cold. In all I was pleasantly surprised. Just last week, The SRC started to offer "The best Sunday Dinner in Town". So now on a Sunday there are is s single menu offering a selection of Sunday Roasts. They are traditionally cooked, and they do not skimp on any of the portions. I had to give some slices of my beef away. The atmosphere is friendly, and despite being right next door to a Pub Chain establishment, is pretty busy. Good luck to them. Give it a try

Myself and 5 others from our darts team went for food and a catch up.The bar staff were friendly and helpful. When it came to placing our food order we didn't realise we had to go to the bar but this didn't stop the staff from coming to our table to take the order. The food was fabulous. As there was 5 of us eating I think we pretty much ordered most of the menu. The chicken was suckulent, the wedges hand made, chunks of beef in the chilli but the best must have been the ribs that disolved off the bone and plenty of sauce to soak up with complimentary bread. Our only down fall was no knowing how big the portions were which meant we had to leave some. This did feel criminal as is was gorgeous. Wed night was jam night so there were lots of different musicians with a whole range of song choice which wasn't too loud that we also could catch up. Fabulous evening that we cant wait to repeat and take the rest of our team there!!

We have been planning a visit since it opened and called in tonight. The experience started off badly when we discovered that the only two available tables were reserved for a party of 10 (after we had been sat there for 10 minutes and picked our food). Eventually they decided we could eat and I endured the process. I was hoping for a staff discount after having to explain to the girl behind the bar every dish and how to find it on the till (the secret to this is recognising that the name on the till is the same as the menu)! When the food turned up it was all good and the chilli con carne (made with steak not mince) in particular was excellent. The food is also very well priced and I do feel like it was real value for money. £30 for 5 dishes and 2 beers. The ambience is good and the music suits my taste. A band was setting up as we left and the live music is certainly a plus and a reason for us to return. There really is a need for a separate dining area though as it started getting too crowded, hopefully when the balcony area opens this will be fixed.

Lovely place, great staff and nice coffee! Reminds me of 'The Godfather' scene where Al Pacino avengers his fathers in the restaurant with Sollozo and Captain McKluskey.
