I love this restaurant, no more comments required.

The chicken and fish dishes that we had ordered for our main, I’d describe as decent (good but nothing standout), but we really enjoyed the starter and desserts a lot more. The Calamari was soft with light crispy batter; for dessert we had Tiramisu and Baklava with ice cream which were both excellent and highly recommended. Staff were super friendly as well, so an overall great experience.

An absolutely brilliant Italian restaurant. Excellent service with a hint of comedic banter. The food was delicious and filling. Great value for money.

Enjoyed a spontaneous meal here I had lamb and it was very nice would definitely return and will book next time as it gets busy.

The food grill platter was very small amount and no lamb chops at all. Only chicken wings. Too expensive and no atmosphere. No music til late. Empty restaurant. Not visiting again!

My partner and myself visited for the first time. We were greeted with smiles from all the staff. The menu is quite large but I already knew that I would order lamb chops, I love lamb chops. I chose lamb chops and lamb ribs, my partner also had the lamb chops. We were not disappointed the food we ate was absolutely gorgeous and we would both recommend this restaurant. Thank you, we will visit again.

Sofra has to offer the best grilled meat dinner experience in the Sutton area - we just love it and return regularly. Great atmosphere and service.

God value, great service & food

The food was delicious and marinated well. It was also presented in a neat and appealing way. The waitress was kind, helpful and checked in without being intrusive.

The food is great, but what's with the measly portions? The price and quantity of food do not match.

We came here as a family with a 7yo after recently moving to Sutton. The food was very tasty (with generous portion sizes) and the staff were welcoming. We enjoyed the atmosphere and will definitely go back again.

Back again last night to a very special place for us with wonderfull food, great atmosphere and fantastic staff we just adore the exceptional food and the very personal attention to details with a phone call just after we left to say we had forgotton glasses left on table - superb customer service

Had another great family meal here last week. The food was really good quality clean food as it always is, the service was outstanding. They even gave me a birthday surprise of a cake, candle and sang happy birthday with out it being ordered or charged for. I have eaten here many times over the last 5 years and had a couple of takeaways, the food is always good, I can highly recommend this place.

I ordered the sofa mix grill plate, it was delicious and the most of the meat cooked well, however was a little diasapointed by the quantity/quality of some of the meat and the size of it, the lamb shish were supposed to be 4 pieces but as you can see in the picture they are very small and thin peices, felt more like a chewy shawerma, also the two ribs portion were small and hardly had any meat/fat on them, lastly the rice portion was tiny and flavourless, for £27 you would really expect a little more, especially when you compare it to other mix grill dishes from other middle eastern /Turkish restaurants. overall good experience, staff were nice, service was quick.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Visited in a group of 10 last evening. The food was amazing. Excellent quality and value for money. The staff were wonderful. We will return very soon

First time here. The service was great and not rushed which I liked to be honest. Very friendly. The meat was succulent and tasty and even the salad was lovely. The only negative is that the chips portion I thought was a little small but it wouldn't stop me going back! Excellent atmosphere. Thank you for a lovely visit.

Exceptional mixed grill for boys and chicken shish for girl, succulently cooked and much more than we could eat - terrific value. Service was impeccable, caring and unobtrusive - we were so well looked after - thannk you Sofra we really enjoyed our evening and we will be back for sure.

Tasty food and they have good serving size

Great food and ambience. We have visited Sofra on a number of occasion. The portions seems to have gone down a bit. The people are very friendly overall. This time we had an awful experience. The had added a service charge and did not inform us. When we enquired the waitress became rude and pushy. We would have left a tip any ways maybe more but trying to force it and then having an attitude was totally unacceptable. Very disappointing as she spoiled the otherwise wonderful evening.

The food was good. Adana was my favorite. The mix chicken grill, wings were really good but the chicken shish was ok. Generally a good halal option if you are in Sutton

After the pandemic the prices have gone up and the menu is a bit limited. However, the service is still lovely, the food is still tasty and freshly grilled, and they’re still playing Turkish pop music on a radio. It’s clean and there is seating outside as well. Cards are accepted. Tip: the Turkish bread and Ayran!

Halal but alcohol is present. We got the Muska Boregi starter which was really nice. We then got the Sofra Mixed Grill; the meat is cooked really nicely, it's juicy but it doesn't have any flavour, it's as if it's been cooked without marinating. It's not authentic and lacks spices, it's literally just well cooked meat which we found disappointing. The decor is nice and service is just alright. Total cost for 2 people was £35. We wouldn't come here again because you can find much better quality food elsewhere e.g. Tooting, for the same price.

Food is absolutely delicious and very authentic Turkish. Staff are friendly and helpful. Place is clean and decor is beautiful! However, why the management have decided to have the radio on for music is beyond me?! I don’t know why they don’t have a good chilled Spotify or similar playlist. It is so bad I I wouldn’t sit in the restaurant again . it may seem like a small detail probably to many who don’t notice music in restaurants - but there are many who will notice it. So I hope they can change this aspect as it makes a huge difference to an evening out.

I ordered delivery from here today for the first time and was blown away by the food, it was incredible, I could not fault it and I am quite picky when it comes to my food. I had the mixed grill which was a generous portion, lamb was succulent and chicken tender and flavourful. Salad was great too and you can just taste that everything had been freshly cooked, food came piping hot also which is great!! - I would definitely recommend this to anyone and will certainly be ordering again soon. The absolute best mixed grill I have had in my 22 years of existence, thank you very much!

My wife and I popped in on the off chance as we got let down by another restaurant in the area. We had an excellent meal, served by very friendly and polite staff. Good food, great atmosphere at a reasonable price.

Visited for a late lunch yesterday and have to say everything was spot on. Service was good and friendly, mixed kebab was cooked well and full of flavour. Large portion too! Chilli sauce also fantastic. Not from the area but will be sure to find an excuse to return. Superb.

Made an order through just eat that never arrived to my home, despite being delivered according to the website. No driver contacted me to inform about any issue with the delivery. When I called the restaurant, they said that they did not have any responsibility with the deliver, and could not track the driver who was responsible for it, before hanging up the phone. Really rude staff, would never order any food from there, or go to restaurant.

First but not last visit here! at a loose end popped in and I’m glad I did food was plentiful and tasty and all of the the staff where lovely xx if you’ve had bad experiences in the past then maybe the previous reviewers need to look at their own behaviours first

We have never had a bad meal here! Chicken wings & lamb ribs are a favourite! Both dine in and takeaway are exceptional! Both FOH and chefs are super friendly. Big love to the whole team

SOFRA is my go to restaurant being situated at the top of my road and every month l have dinner with my former work mates. As usual the food and service were great, tables were socially distanced and the staff wore masks, but l must admit l was surprised that there were people waiting to collect their takeaways not wearing masks and too many in the waiting area, so customers for the restaurants, who wore masks, were having to pass them to check in at the desk. Hopefully the management will rectify this before we return in November.

So I came here for dinner with my brother full of high hopes only to be incredibly disappointed! The humus was grainy and lacked flavour, the accompanying bread was soft and squishy. The worst however was still to come. I ordered the sirloin steak but instead was given the lamb steak. I didn’t realise this mistake until I saw the bill. Instead throughout dinner I kept thinking the meat tasted off. The portion size was the biggest shock and for the price it was unacceptable. For £17 you’d expect the portion size to be double of what it was. Even the accompanying chilli was bigger! The sauce was cold. You could say who orders steak in a Turkish restaurant but my brother’s yogurt kebab was no better. I tried to complain but the waitress had nothing to say. Overall a really disappointing experience. I would not come here again or recommend.

We had a lunch menu as a group here. Great value, (from memory around £9.95 with a soft drink) nice interior and child friendly. Chicken wings and the shish were lovely. There is also mousaka on the menu. Otherwise the main menu is extensive and I have ordered from that in the past which was also good.Food is of superb quality all cooked to order and the service is friendly. I have had takeaway from here also which is less price and again, enjoyable.

Had a very enjoyable (belated from July for obvious reasons) friends birthday meal at Sofra. We had a late afternoon reservation @ 3 on Sat 1st Aug, so the restaurant was quite empty, tho by the time we left there were a couple more tables inside & a fair few people at the tables outside. The reason I mention the lack of clientele is that it affects the atmosphere of a place, which I would imagine is quite lively when busier! The staff were very welcoming & friendly, but still efficient & professional, the food, whilst typical of many Turkish restaurants, was very well presented & extremely tasty. We all just ordered a main, from experience Turkish restaurant portions tend to be generous, but some bread & bits were served 1st. The bill when it came was very reasonable.

We ordered from here for the first time and it is honestly one of the best takeaway meals we have ever had! We ordered the set meal 2 (for 4 people ) It arrived on time and the delivery guys were very polite. It was full of flavour, generous portions, no grease, fresh and well packaged. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this restaurant.... they are masters in their trade!

I have been to this lovely little restaurant before, albeit not for a long time. It reminded me immediately on what I missed. Food was delicious. My friends and I purchased completely different starters and mains and they were all thoughtless.Staff were friendly, however as it was very busy service was a little bit slow.

The food here is just a dream. Good quality well cooked and served with an enormous smile. There are kebab shops, kebab restaurants and then there is Sofra! Needs to be tried!

Went for dinner with some friends last night. Had such a great time. The food was absolutely gorgeous. They had never eaten there before and just loved it.

So I find myself in Sutton waiting to deliver a talk on how to negotiate support in school for dyslexic young people and I needed dinner!One of my favourite foods is Turkish and I found the Sofra Grill, 2 minutes away from where I am going to talk at the Sutton Dyslexia Association.I received a warm welcome, a lovely complimentary flatbread starter and my main course was the mixed kebab.Oh my gosh, I am in heaven!Simply delicious and very reasonably priced. I will definitely come again next time I am down here....Now back to work....

Amazing service, came here with my family to celebrate my mothers birthday and the whole staff gave us a great welcome and sang happy birthday. Very friendly, very happy, great music. Would recommend the adana yoghurt and the wings! The dessert was also amazing.

Clean place, very busy with takeaways. Waitress lovely but messed up one meal. Food tasty but on the small side for 14.00. Hence only 3.

We have been going to Sofra for years and it has become a tradition to go as a family every Christmas eve. Once again we were not dissaponted. The food was excellent and the portions of good size. The atmosphere was great with the one waitress dressed up in Xmas gear and everyone in a jovial mood. Service was great, food was great and what more can I say but see you next Xmas eve.

Have been here a few times if an evening and it’s always been good but decided to try it for lunch today. Food as always fantastic and had a set lunch of starter, main and a bottle of beer for £9.95, great deal. Staff as always really friendly, relaxed atmosphere just can’t fault it. Enjoy.

My husband and I went to this restaurant with our friends visiting from abroad and had lunch. The food was delicious and not too pricey. We ordered mix grill which was plenty for 2 people while our friends ordered something different. The staff that served us was friendly and served us with a smile. We had a lovely time and will certainly go there again.

We have eaten there on previous occasions for lunch and the quality of food at lunch seemed better than the delivery that we received this evening. We spent quite a bit for poor quality of food, rice was stodgy and thick, chicken was dry, the food wasn’t as tasty.

Have visited a few times now and thoroughly enjoyed the food and atmosphere.Would definitely recommend.

We went to sofra restaurant in Sutton on a Sunday night. There were 5 of us. The restaurant was almost full but fortunately some people left and we had to wait only for a short while.

On a hot day Sofra offers the perfect place for refreshing food (recommend the salad with halloumi and avocado). Nice complimentary items including fresh warm bread. Good vegetarian choice. Was kindly offered tasters of wines by Gashi before making our selection.

AWFULLY SMALL PORTIONS AND AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE! DO NOT RECOMMEND!

As mentioned in previous reviews, the manager is very rude. I went there with a friend for a take away. We wanted to pay using multiple cards 50/50 for a 30 pounds order which was acceptable according to a sign placed stating that a minimum of 10 per card was acceptable. The manager simply said he will not do the 50/50 split and when I asked why he simply replied that he was "busy". When I told him that I almost do this with my friends in nearly every other restaurant and that he was the one setting the 10 pounds per card rule, he started shouting and spoke in a very aggressive and disrespectful manner and refused to do the split saying we could return the food if we didnt like it. I will never be returning again to this place !

We had a lovely vegetarian lunch at Sofra. Fresh and delicious salad with char cooked veg, meze and warm bread. Always good here and nice staff.

Went here with two friends - one of which is a huge Sofra fan. On arriving it was virtually empty inside, which was slightly concerning - but the welcome was good. Seated easily and politely.

I went there with my family and friends, it was lovely! The selection of different foods and meats, very tasty! I recommend the traditional cold starters, delicious...!

We order via deliveroo because we're not sure if they deliver direct. Its not cheap but it's really tasty so it's not a problem. I always have the chicken shish with yogurt and bread. Really nice.

Can't fault the food, which was very tasty, but the portion sizes leave a lot to be desired, all 4 of us left there hungry , we all had mixed shish kebabs and skewers had 4 small squares of chicken and 4 of lamb, it looked like a Childs portion , and a handful of chips , very disappointed indeed , none of the 4 of us will re-visit, very poor value for money

WE visited Sofra on Sunday night. I ordered the prawn starter which was a generous portion and absolutely delicious followed by the mixed chicken grill and my partner ordered the chicken shish kebab, both of which were faultless, we ordered a portion of chips to have with our meal but really didnt need these as again the portions were generous. The service throughout was excellent and the waitress was a real pleasure. Our only disappointment is that we will probably not be in the area again and so, sadly, may not get to eat in the great restaurant for a second time. If we do travel to Sutton again this will definitely be our first choice. We would 100% recommend this restaurant.

Popped in for lunch..........and enjoyed a very nice meal from their £9-95 menu offer......I had the Ali Nazik for starters...........then the Adana Kebab for my main course..........washed down with a nice Efe's beer......The service was prompt and friendly.....the atmosphere was great........and it went down a treat........The restaurant is just a short walk left turn out of Sutton Station..........I can thoroughly recommend it...

The wine was corked and when I mentioned this to the waitress we had a Basil Fawlty moment. She brought us another bottle but I had a strong suspicion it was the same bottle. Didn’t want to make a scene of it so left it there. The food was very average. Never seen the liver served without onions. Despite the menu saying it was served on a bed of onions all there was a bit garnish so I had to ask for the onions separately.

great value lunch with their lunch time menu, the chicken in the shish was very nicely marinated and the salad was very fresh. The bread that came with the hummus starter was also very tasty, the only downside was that the chilli sauce was very mild but saying that it was full of flavour

I'm addicted to this place. Friendly staff, great bread and humus and nice vibe. I really like the way they cook the meats, different dishes as well. I always ask for "baklava" as dessert!

It just felt a bit average to me, nothing of any great flavour for my taste buds & a big disappointment with the Tabbouleh.

El personal era educado, pero no amable, los aperitivos estaban bien y el plato principal fue que había sido recalentados moussaka en un microondas entonces cubierto con salsa de tomate sin ensalada o arroz. Nos acercará a nuestro lugar habitual en el futuro.

Mi pareja y ahora son clientes habituales aquí. Todo lo que hemos tenido, desde el pan caliente con salsas de iniciar, al haber sido encontrados kebabs a la parrilla increíble. El Cordero y el pollo brochetas se cocinan tan tiernamente amada ya que se derriten en la boca. El koftes están muy bien condimentadas.

He estado varias veces Sofra desde que abrió y nunca he sido decepcionado! El personal es fantástico, siempre muy acogedor y servicial. La comida es fantástica, la carne a la parrilla son tiernas y suculentas ensaladas siempre frescas mientras la y de buen gusto. No me puedo quejar de la comida o el servicio recibido en todo en Sofra y lo recomendaría a cualquiera. Por último, el tamaño de las porciones son generosas, por decir lo menos, y teniendo en cuenta este los precios son muy competitivos y no excesivamente caro para lo que te dan.

Been meaning to try this place for 3 years. Finally forced my friends to invite me when they went this week. The service was great on seating and food ordering. A little slow with the bill but we were all on a time schedule so not their faultThe menu choice was fantastic. Many types of kebabs. Some spiced some not. The adana is a spiced kebab which was fabulous. I had a mixed grill which meant I got to try most of the foods on one plate. Had to take it home. So much food. But such good foodCharcoal grilled so it's so lean not remote fatty. Proper flat bread with a lovely somewhat spicy seasoning. The yogurt was thick and creamy. Just writing this makes me want to go there now. But it's 9am. Excellent wine and beer list. We chose a light Turkish red that went perfectly with the food. Proper Turkish coffee at the end instead of dessert. Finally a proper coffee in England. It's very strong gritty and amazing. Be aware it's proper coffee. Very reasonably priced and their take way menu is fab. Collect toon only but live on the same road so not a problem. Close to a taxi rank and sutton station. Will be going back soon

Came on a very quiet Tuesday evening. Had the saksuka for starters and the lamb shish for main. Nice touches such as a small appetizer of Turkish pizza when you arrive and home made fresh rosemary bread served with with the starter. Meat and salad on the main course were fresh and fragrant. Prices are perhaps just a little on the expensive side but that's the only minor quibble.

Using charcoal means that the meat tastes like barbecue and not that diesely taste you get in some places. Service as always very good. It is not a 5 star restaurant but it is very good at what it does. Try the more exotic dishes and drink the Yakut (the better of the two Turkish wines on the menu) Interesting starters worth a try - particularly the Turkish sausage with humus. The also make their own fresh rosemary bread.

We went to Sofra on Saturday for a family meal. The restaurant was clean and had a good decor.Service was a little too attentive as the waiting staff didn't give us time to breave before requesting our order. That said they were responsive and served the food and drinks promptly. However, they did mix up our order for coffee with tea, which they did not charge us for.The food was great. It reminder me of happy holidays in Turkey. It was served hot and at the same time for all my family. I had whitebait and a Russian salad for starter and a fish called the Sultan's finger for my main course. I thoroughly enjoyed both courses, the meat was tender and full of flavour. Definitely recommend!

I've been here once and was pleasantly surprised. The complimentary bread was moreish. I ordered a combination grill (lamb kofte and lamb shish) and asked for them to be well done (as I'm pregnant). They got this right which might not seem like a big deal but I've been to plenty of places which say that they will do it well done and then expect me to eat pink/crucified meat! The meal comes with rice and salad and when I asked for no salad, the waitress very kindly offered me a double portion of rice instead which was a nice touch. Overall it was good balue for money and the flavours were nice.

Was advice by friend to try Sofra restaurant. Did actually went and sit there but took take away, assuming food would be the same. Food was absolutely awful!!! Kebab which shouldn’t be spicy was spicy! Service was ok as in any take away. Salad was gone straight to the bin as the half of rice as it was very low cost rise. Never cook that rice at home!!!! It was my first and last time there. Waste of time and money!!!
