Divya and the rest of the staff were attentive and personable and made it a memorable experience!

Right in the center of Edinburgh, the full Scottish is very big, the haggis is not big and you will feel a bit greasy after eating it, the price is not cheap

I came here for dinner with a friend, and unfortunately, we left disappointed. The service was quite slow, and when we finally asked for the bill, we weren't given a paper copy—only a card machine. The waitress simply told us how much each of us owed (we had asked to split the bill evenly). After tapping my card, I realized a service charge had been included—over 20%—without any prior mention or itemized breakdown. This was not communicated beforehand, and we never got to see the actual bill. It felt very unclear and left a bad taste in what should have been an enjoyable night out. We didn’t want to make a scene in front of other guests, but this kind of billing practice feels misleading at best. Would not return, and I wouldn’t recommend it unless they become more transparent about charges and improve their service.

We stopped in twice today June 4, 2025, once for a sweet treat and another time for a night cap. Both times Dylan was an exceptional server. We were seated quickly, listened to it needs and an order was scrumptious. I also was not sure of a drink I wanted and he researched the ingredients I like and made an exquisite whiskey with mint & maple syrup mixed drink. A beautiful ending to our amazing vacation in Edinburgh.

Best Eggs Benedict I have had in a long time.

Extremely expensive 2 salads with ready-made dressing 2 espresso martinis 1 bottle of water 74 pounds

Went here for a quick dessert but ended up getting the steak, diavolo pizza, espresso martini torte, and chocolate cheesecake! Everything was fantastic and the service from Dumi was amazing. Will definitely be coming back for a visit. The handsome host, whose name I can’t remember was very kind as well. Overall great visit. :)

The food was superb, pizza was among the best I've ever had. Great lively atmosphere without feeling noisy or crowded and wonderful location. Dumi was our server and she was prompt, friendly and informative, as were the other staff who seated us. Overall a wonderful dining experience.

First visit to Society. Had the steak and really enjoyed it. Tge service was wonderful provided by Divyon. Will definitely be back!

Me and my family were on a holiday in Edinburgh and decided to have a simple dinner before we head back to our hotel to rest. We were surprised that the food is so amazing, especially the truffles mac & cheese. Ryan was our servant; he was fabulous, passionate and hard-working. He was serving multiple tables but still provided excellent service. We will definitely come back to Society Bars & Kitchen again if we do stop by Edinburgh in the future!

Duan (correctly spelled) is magic. And the staff is also up there. Eggs Benedict, Bloody Mary, Steak, sides, bearnaise etc. is well worth the money. Location good. Only drawback is the way to the toilets, a narrow path where no two persons can meet and pass.

We tried this place on our first day in Edinburgh. We had a full Scottish breakfast and really enjoyed it. The atmosphere was great and it was a very popular place to have brunch.

I really enjoyed the avo chili, and the other dishes tasted good too. The only thing was the portion sizes, it felt a bit small, especially since we were expecting something like fries to make it more filling.

Delightful dinner at Society Bar and Kitchen. Pizza and steak were both delicious, and we loved the sticky toffee pudding for dessert. Our server Dumi could not have been better - very nice and made great recommendations.

Nice place but expensive (£6 ish for a soft drink) and they added a service charge on the card machine without asking.

We "only" went for breakfast – but we went twice. The breakfast is really very good: generous portions and absolutely reasonable prices. The service is friendly and prompt. However, it gets very busy, so I definitely recommend making a reservation in advance or arriving as early as 8:00 a.m. to get a table.

We live in Edinburgh and we have gone to Society three times this week - for brunch, for dinner and for a their wonderful wines which all have a rating of 4.0 or above on the Vivino app but they sell their wines for less than the usual higher prices at restaurants. I ordered The Chocolate Block as our wine and it was excellent and a staff favorite. Kate, our server, was superb! We ordered dinner Monday May 26th and we ordered steaks with Cuban chimichurri spicy sauce, mashed sweet potatoes and for dessert we had the sticky toffee pudding. The steak was superb. Mine was served medium rare which I love while my husband wanted his more well done. The Sticky Toffee Pudding was the BEST my husband and I had ever had at a restaurant - the sponge was so perfect and the toffee sauce with the vanilla ice cream topped off the evening. What really made our time at Society Edinburgh was the service we received from our server Kate. She was first class - friendly and efficient and she made us feel like we were at home with her lovely chat. She also gave us a complimentary salad which was also delicious! For brunch we had the Highlander and the Eggs Benedict, both superb. This is our new go to place for friends and family when they come into town. Highly recommend!

Servers were rude about dietary requirements. They slapped the receipt down and made us feel rushed to leave just as we finished our food. Not a welcoming atmosphere. Very tight seating layout. Shared open plan tables were inconvenient.

Fantastic breakfast, got in straight away with our reservation. (Definitely make a reservation). The food was delicious fresh and classic but also modern feeling. Great coffee. The cafe has a lovely atmosphere and a great view of the city. The window seats are private and provide excellent city watching while you have a delicious breakfast. We had the full Scottish, it was a very large portion and everything on the plate was excellent. Our server Sanaz was friendly and provided great service. Would definitely come back!

My husband and I were served by Noelle who was extremely friendly, professional and knowledgeable about the menu and was able to help us decide on the steak which was simply delicious. We had the rosemary fries and the meal was accompanied by a scrumptious salad. We also had the tiramisu which was also delectable. We booked for breakfast tomorrow as we were so pleased with the exceptional service by Noelle and food quality. We rate our experience 5/5. Toronto, Canada

First meal I enjoyed since arriving in Edinburgh. My niece is coming in August and I have already texted her about this place and that it is a must for her trip. The view was also worth mentioning as well as Noelle, who was my server. She was so sweet.

By far the best food experience I’ve had in Edinburgh. The wait is worth it if you want delicious food, friendly staff, and a lively atmosphere. The Wee Scottish breakfast and the Eggs Benedict were delicious. Top quality ingredients all around. The filter coffee was the best I’ve had since leaving home 3weeks ago. The servings are huge, so don’t hesitate to ask for a takeaway box. We had a nice conversation with the owners, who gave us a taste of haggis (actually delicious!) and tattie scones since we are new to Scotland. Really nice people! I’d eat there every day if I could.

At the core of the downtown, this place welcomes guests from breakfast to late-night cocktails. But… given the smoke of the cooking lingers in the seating area, I can’t say it was a memorable experience. Average taste, reasonable pricing, good service if you’re in the area. Otherwise, please consider again making your way to there.
