Went there for late morning coffee and cake with friends. It’s pleasant and relaxing place with nice rustic tables and chairs with dine couches. It does not feel crowded and is spacious. The food menu was fine with some appealing items. The coffee was good. I would suggest going to this cafe if in the area and I would return. I did not feel it was expensive in comparison to other cafes and felt the prices the same as other places . As the cafe is in the Barker and Stonehouse store you can wander through lovely furniture.

Stopped by here while trying to find a cafe in the area, didn’t expect it to be in a furniture showroom but it’s a cosy place with great coffee and I recommend the coffee cake. Not much atmosphere though.

This is now a great cafe to visit. They now mostly serve organic food. Sourdough toasties, organic cakes and great Illy Coffee with only organic regular milk and soya. Great furniture to relax in and they do take away!

The Social Fuel Cafe on the first floor of the Battersea Barker & Stonehouse furniture emporium is almost a destination in itself. And it's not just because following the closure of the pub with the helicopter on its roof there's nowhere else to grab a snack in this wilderness of gloomy (ugly and pointless) car showrooms and (ugly) ex council housing blocks. You can sit on leather sofas (their price tags intact) and order bagels and soups for lunch or a cake and Illy coffee for an afternoon indulgence. It necessarily has a relaxing ambience because of the immediate surroundings, whilst the concrete and brick background suggests grit and efficiency taboot.

I often go in here for a coffee after having been on a run, it is a real gem of a place. The staff are friendly, the coffee is good if somewhat expensive but they also serve breakfast bagels which are excellent. A real gem of a place and it is also a nice quiet place to chill.

Great if you like your guacamole to be avocado and mayonnaise (great money saving techniques on behalf of social fuel, not so great when you're paying over a fiver for a jacket potato...). Don't know what the flat whites are, all wrong. I suggest the staff have full barista training because of course it's not their fault, it's the fault of management. Wouldn't recommend, food is ok but prices ridiculous, also staff look a bit under the weather the few times I've been, hope they are being treated well.

I've been to Social Fuel a number of times in the last month as it's near my offices so they offer a discount which is nice and has certainly attracted me back. At first I was impressed, a nice comfy cafe hidden away at the top of a furniture shop, but I don't think I'll be going again after my last few experiences. I found the prices - especially the drinks - to be very high for the quality, which wasn't great. The lunch food is decent and fairly priced whilst cakes are expensive. Some of the young ladies in the coffee shop who have served me have been lovely and attentive, but the gentleman who has served me the last few times (who I presume to be the manager) I have witnessed to be somewhat rude and abrasive, both to customers and to other staff. The quality of food and coffee also varies a lot depending on who is serving. Why shops like this continue to employ rude staff - even (or especially) in managerial positions - is beyond me. Lower your prices, and higher more friendly staff. From now on I'll just pick up a meal deal from Sainsbury's on my way to work.

One gloomy Thursday afternoon I was wondering around Battersea in a desperate attempt to find somewhere to grab a bite. It was quite a mission, as I was in the industrial part of Battersea surrounded by warehouse looking buildings of car dealers, pet shop and construction store. So I strolled into a quirky expensive furniture shop and to my surprise stumbled upon this little café hidden on the first floor behind all those luxurious beds and wardrobes. It was funny that they still had price tags on all the pieces of furniture in the café. I guess it was a great alternative for all the new look haters :) So if you fancied something like this, you could buy it already used by the café customers. I landed on a soft embracing couch and ordered a soup and a ham cream cheese rocket salad bagel. They both came to my table simultaneously and very quickly. The bagel was warm, fresh and crunchy and went perfectly with the smooth creamy soup. I was quite full, but then I noticed gorgeous looking cakes on the stand and couldn't resist. So I went for illy cappuccino (I'm very particular about my coffee, so was pleased they served illy) and a slice of carrot cake. God, was it delicious!!! I complemented on it and the member of staff said that all their cakes are freshly baked. No wonder it was so good. I'm just a bit bored of all that stale frozen pastry in places like Starbucks and so, where they also charge you as if the Starbucks CEO just baked it himself for you. Considering that my bill ended up being just a bit over 10 quid my experience was unexpectedly delightful. If I wind up in this side of London again I now know a gem and will definitely pop in there even if I'm not hungry. There's always room for a cake and a coffee. :) I'm also guilty of taking an extra slice of walnut-coffee cake to go. Absolutely recommend it.

Good coffee, good food, good prices and friendly staff. It's on the top floor of a furniture store, only found it because of trip advisor

We were browsing in the store to find any attractive furniture piece on sale. Persistence pays, and we did find a sofa that was real good value for money. It had been marked down for the winter sale and if purchased within the week, the price was a good one, though delivery would take place in three months. After the long duration we were on our feet, we needed caffeine and sugar. They had all variations - we chose an espresso, a machiato and an espresso. All freshly brewed. It was an uplift. The attendants was very friendly and polite.

We waited 20mins for our drinks and 30mins for our food. They had run out of pretty much everything so most things on the menu weren't available :(

Excellent illy coffee served in fantastic location for a furniture store, good value to for London, usual choice of cakes and slices, again all reasonably priced, team members were attentive and very friendly, not bad for a Saturday morning, highly recommended and cheaper than the waterfront ones just a quick jog away.

Situated on the first floor of an up-market Bnattersea furniture showroom the furnishings are probably the most comfortable possible, all apparently being for sale. I sank in to a deep leather sofa as I drank my coffee. The surroundings are light and airy and the variety of snacks and beverages just right. A good experience.

My wife and myself - together with two friends who also live locally - had an early (1800 hours) dinner last night at the Arab Boy on Upper Richmond Road. It was our first visit for nearly 2 years (10/22 - see subsequent Review) and then it was with the same two friends! We had booked a nice table towards the rear of the property and it wasn’t long before both our drinks and food orders were taken. The good service continued throughout our stay despite the fact that the property was fast filling up. On the food front, I much enjoyed my fish & chpscas well as the crumble & custard. All in all, a most enjoyable return visit for all four of us.
