First visit here, not disappointed the food was fantastic I had the small steak pie my only nit pick is the gravy boat could have been bigger, the service was excellent defo going back and recommend to my friends

Super place. Was very hungry after a 7 mile walk and this was definitely the place to go. Quite spacious with several rooms, nicely decorated. Pleasant, helpful and very polite staff. Prompt service. Bar has two handpulled cask beers - Timothy Taylor's Landlord and Ossett Brewery's Yorkshire Blonde. I had homemade tomato and basil soup, it was missing the croutons mentioned on the menu but did have the homemade bread. This was a delicious starter, extremely yummy. I then had the veggie wrap - halloumi, beetroot and salad in a tortilla with a side of skin on chunky chips. Most divine. I would dine here again deffo and heartily recommend this place for dining. Staff even held door open pon me leaving, what a courteous gent. Impressed with this place, thank you for looking after me. (Loo is upstairs.)

Excellent food and service was wonderful. It was my son’s 14th birthday and they brought a cake out for him just as we were leaving so wrapped it up for him to take home. The whopper fish & chips was definitely Whale rather than Cod! Lovely atmosphere and we look forward to visiting again when we are in Wetherby next.

Pequeño lugar lindo, parecía ser muy popular. Fácil de reservar una mesa (en línea) personal extremadamente amable y acogedor. Muy limpio con el personal en la parte superior de las mesas de compensación, a pesar de que estaba muy ocupado. La comida estaba fuera de este mundo. Generosos tamaños de porciones (no podíamos comer todo).

Hemos tenido dos visitas recientes a este encantador establecimiento recientemente uno con amigos y uno solo. Ambos para almorzar. Qué sorpresa. Un extenso menú con excelentes opciones. Un chef innovador y bastante la mejor comida que hemos probado durante mucho tiempo. Los pasteles caseros eran excelentes y las sopas resultaron ser, francamente, deliciosas. Este restaurante ha estado aquí durante años, pero ahora está en su mejor momento. Vale la pena visitarlo.

First time eating here. I did request on booking to eat in the restaurant. We had been seated in the bar, which was extremely noisy to enjoy a meal. My partner ordered fish & chips. His fish was really nice but the chips were dry. I ordered burger & chips. The burger wasn't nice, wasnt served in a brioche bun like it states. Lacked taste was very bland. My chips were over cooked and dry. Disappointed.

Went to S&C for the first time with my parents and my partner for a half-way Sunday Lunch between Leeds and Harrogate. The staff were really helpful and friendly, the atmosphere was lovely and the food was terrific. If I'm nitpicking, the only thing I would offer in terms of constructive feedback was that we specifically chose S&C because of the vegan options online, but the Sunday menu didn't offer the same variety and a vegan dessert option would have been great - but I'd be lying if I said it was a big deal. Definitely going back at some point!

Booked last minute when visiting Wetherby. The staff are friendly and helpful. They moved us to a lower table so my 83 year old aunt didn't have to teeter on a tall stool. Good food, reasonable price. Would recommend

Popped in here for lunch. Really good, friendly service with generous servings of well presented, tasty food. They also have a couple of Yorkshire cask ales too.

We were celebrating my wife's birthday. Her daughter tried to pay for a bottle of wine in advance as a surprise, but they couldn't cope with that. There was a large noisy group in the dining area so we asked to move tables and ended up next to the door where our napkins blew around every time somebody opened the door: it was a windy night. My wife's wine glass was dirty with lipstick so I had to queue up at the bar to get it changed. The menu is pretty limited, accurate on the website, but don't be misled by some of the photos: no hanging kebabs anymore and just one steak option. They had run out of steak & ale pie. We shared a plate of nachos which were OK. Strange sauce. My wife had the chicken linguine which came as a very generous portion with loads of chicken, but frankly a bit stodgy. She couldn't finish it but they provided a handy 'doggy bag' to take it home. I had a cheese burger. I hadn't noticed that it came with 'chipotle' sauce, which I'd never encountered before. It turned out to be more like chilli oil (drizzled on the lettuce) which nearly blew my head off! When I complained that there should be more warning they knocked 20% off the bill, which I thought was reasonable. The place was pretty busy from about 7.30 - 9pm and the poor staff were rushed off their feet so service was slow. They were however friendly and as attentive as they could be.

Great little place tucked away and the food and atmosphere are really good. The only thing to note was the service which, on both occasions we have visited, was a little slow. We had to chase someone down to order food and drinks as we were left waiting. When we did get service, the team are really helpful and polite. Apart from that, the food is really good and in generous portions. The outdoor seating area is lovely when the weather is right(!)

Some of the Staff not very friendly, and they didn't do chicken roast only pork or beef. So I had to have a chicken burger. I have had better at Burger King, not worth the money. The girl who finally served us after 15 minutes waiting she was a nice friendly girl. Not go again, tho as didn't feel welcome. As one of the staff a young lad was good at giving us evil looks for some reason.

Very disappointed found some of the staff rude. The girl who served us was lovely. But couple of the others did nothing only give us evil looks so felt uncomfortable. It was disappointing they did not do chicken roast only beef or pork. So had to get a chicken burger what was nice but the burger was very small. Don’t think it was worth the money had a lot nicer for a lot cheaper. And we was sat for 15mins before served. But people who came in after us was served before us. Didn’t even get asked if everything was ok with are meals.

Fantastic little place, tucked discreetly out of the way, but central . Very cosy and smartly decorated. Has a roof top terrace option. Dog friendly. Has great food and beer. We had the pizza. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Will definitely return.

We have visited the Snug & Chatter several times - it’s great for a couple of drinks and equally as great for an evening meal. The terrace is a lovely little sun trap. Sam and the team are always friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend

I visited this restaurant today for lunch with three friends and Lolly the Golden Retriever. We arrived 25 minutes earlier than our reservation but luckily were able to be seated. We could not have been made more welcome by the young gentlemen who were serving. We all ordered cod goujons which, due to a slight change in the menu were actually a smaller proportion of fish and chips, rather than goujons served and with homemade tartare sauce and mushy peas. No matter because it was delicious. The chips were hot, the fish was white and batter was thin and crispy. The peas and tartare were excellent. Our coffee was served with a very nice shortbread biscuit. J9, aka the pudding queen,had apple and blackberry crumble, which she said was excellent. The rest of us were too full for pudding. Lolly was delighted with the dog biscuit she was given . It was an excellent lunch in a very comfortable space. We will definitely eat here again on our next visit to Wetherby and would recommend to others.

A very friendly welcome especially by the two lads on duty, Elliot & Sam. They were super helpful, informative and efficient with their service. The pub was clean, cosy and the outside 1st floor seating area was a lovely place to have a delicious sandwich lunch in the sun. I will return. Thanks to those lads again.

Nice, cosy place. Friendly staff - food disappointing. Overcooked fries and chicken burger, onion rings were missing from the plate. Veg for the pie was floppy and overcooked. Shame.. we won't be returning.

We went last night (2nd time in two weeks) and we were served by the Manager, Elliot. He is such a great guy, so friendly and really goes out of his way to make you feel looked after. Cracking little spot!

Don't like to leave negative reviews but I'm afraid I feel like we've been mugged. Picked the venue due to the online Sunday menu and only half of the items were available. Very expensive. Place very cold and the food was also lukewarm. Large portions fair enough but tastless and covered in watery gravy. No children's desert menu but offered a refrozen twister ice cream, no wonder they were free! Might be better in the week but definitely wouldn't go there again. P.s. staff were very friendly though

Came across this little place not knowing the area we took a risk. Wow, the food was amazing and service was probably the best I've ever experienced! Wish we lived closer to come back.

We booked Good Friday to come on Monday and viewed the menu online. When we arrived we were given a menu which was different to what we had viewed. We asked the waiter and he said they had changed it last minute. We were not happy as we had travelled from Leeds to visit. Waiter apologised and said he would knock drinks off bill. We decided to eat anyway as we were hungry so chose off the menu. My wrap was just about “OK”, had much better but I did eat it and my husband ordered posh fish finger sandwich, which was far from posh!! Cardboard bread, thin, nearly flat fish finger and very dry! He didnt eat it, was offered 20% off! Anyway, we said we werent paying for it and he agreed to knock that off the bill. We did pay for my meal but overall we were extremely disappointed at the last minute menu change and the very poor food served. Sorry but would not recommend or return.

First time for me and my partner, arrived and greeted with a smile and shown to our table by Elliott (Great Chap) the service was amazing, food was delicious especially the filling most delicious steak pie and skinny fries and my partner had the snug burger, he said it was to die for. Loved the atmosphere, warm and cozy. I would definitely come back again.

Have just had the most delicious (and filling) Sunday roast. Enormous portions and so tasty. Mum and I both chose the roast beef and it was so tender. Gigantic Yorkshire pud and good selection of veg to accompany the main. Well presented too. Highly recommend it.

The food was excellent (it felt really home made and fresh, especially the flatbreads), came promptly and the venue is really cosy. It isn't the most child friendly place however. The childs meal had really delicious veg and was enormous, which is great! However, we were initially told there was no baby changing (there is!). No room for prams either - we asked staff and they were unsure so just worked it out between us and other families with babies that arrived at the same time. Also, the staff put everything we ordered down on the table right in front of our baby - hot tea pots, drinks, food, cutlery etc. A really great place to go with excellent food but not especially child friendly compared to other venues in Wetherby

Decent lunch there today - rang ahead as we were walking there and worried about making it before food stopped; Sam on the phone was good enough to keep the kitchen open for us. Also sorted us out a nice big table for our party, and the food and service was great, felt really well looked after, thank you!

Won't be back having supported this business in the past after our experience today. Called in today for a drink and nibbles. Ordered a couple of sides to compliment our drinks. My partner popped to the loo and overheard the chef say "who comes out and only orders bread and chips" and there was an expletive involved too. As she came back the restaurant manager followed her with our sides. She mentioned the chefs rudeness, pointed out it was overheard and we sent the food back to the chef.His reply "you know what chefs are like" So a couple of things....rudeness from the chef and very condescending. Perhaps for some folk a drink and sides maybe a treat! Perhaps not all customers can afford a full meal. Won't be spending a penny more in this place.

The service and food was first class. The restaurant was cozy and relaxed - a great ambience. The two young ladies on duty were extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Credit to them and also the chef for the amazing food. Having not long moved to Wetherby, it's lovely to know this little gem is right on our doorstep and we will definitely be returning. When something is done right it deserves to be praised. Well done😊

Ordered Sunday roast which apart from the roast potatoes was all stone cold. Told the waitress and all she said was she'd tell the kitchen. No offer of a replacement/reduction in bill. Very disappointing as I'm sure the food would have been fine had it been the right temperature.

Snug and chatter Abject disappointment at Thursday night’s poor offering. I Booked a week in advance noting it was an event for three birthdays. We arrived on time (one member was late but we told the waitress we’d order anyway). We waited so long to order we had to abandon the idea of having starters. 2 hours plus after arrival we got some food. The elders and children in our group were beside themselves with hunger. Our order of linguine for two people had to be cancelled as there was none left, second choice of chicken skewers was a no go as none left. One member’s steak was a dried out ‘medium’. When it came to dessert ordering, everything had sold out apart from 3 apples pies or ice cream. We had the 3 apple pies and ordered 3 ice creams - only 2 ice creams appeared (my brother had said to a waitress to leave the ice cream off the apple pies). I understand there was just one chef on duty - the poor guy must have been run ragged. Likewise the friendly apologetic but clearly frazzled waitresses did their best. All in all a dreadful experience not to be repeated. This had been a good central get together place of choice for family meet ups. Not any more. Appalling! Not our best family memory….

This is a great little place serving excellent quality food. I loved the decor and the cosy log burner. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The food is reasonably priced and I'd definitely recommend it if you fancy a good quality meal or just a light snack. 5*

had a celebratory mid week lunch at Snug & it was fantastic. it was lunchtime & there was plenty of choice. Burgers & Posh Fish Finger were selected. The food was beautiful, fresh, tasty, well presented -burgers mega juicey, with a lovely side salad ,posh fish fingers consisted of 3 large pieces of delicious fish, again with salad, the chips were crispy & fluffy. The onion rings were amazing...a huge portion (fantactic), & again crispy, light & crunchy. Great job by the kitchen. The best part was the service...we were so well looked after . Thank you Izzy & Maizie - you are super stars. Smart, professional, smiling, friendly, helpful & attentive , a master class in providing top class waiting service . Well done to you both. Will defo be back

A group of 10 ladies came today 18th August 2023 for lunch, the table was ready for us to sit straight away the staff were friendly and could not do enough for us we did not have long to wait for the delicious food that was presented in front of us 😋 apologies for the other customers for our chattering but every one of us will be coming back for definite thank you so much 😀
