Wonderful - friendly service and food really yummy!!!

Always quick and nice food. My go-to place to grab a burger! Lovely people who can have a laugh. Ideal for students too

Have been going for several years, and honestly, it's better than Five Guys, 7Bone and Meat Liquor for me. Portion sizes and quality is unreal, the amount of homemade and fresh ingredients used really comes across in the taste

Absolutely delicious burger! I tried the Mexicano Hot and was blown away by well balanced flavours and attention to a lip smacking detail. Proper tasty business. Big Love to the lovely, friendly staff who went all out to make our eat in experience EXTRA. X

The food was good.... when it arrived. I waited for nearly 2.5hrs after placing the order until it was delivered. I called at the 1.5hr mark and the woman said it is with the driver and would be there in 12 mins. 30mins later it is still not here. I called again and the order is apparently lost. I asked for a refund but all I am offered is a free desert, and told the order will be with me in 20mins. This is very disappointing, where at least a partial refund would have been good. I don't think I will be ordering from you again.

Oh my gawd. The do the filthiest burgers, you wouldn’t want to take home to meet your parents level burgers. The chicken strips are lovely too, and the fries are amazing. Portions are crazy generous. Might seem pricey but portions are worth it. Never been in so guessed the atmosphere would be great too. They do their own delivery (I use UberEats) they have been a little slow and you can’t track but their friendliness makes up and orders have always been perfect.

Thought long and hard about a fault....only fault was huge portions...would go small fries next time and only one patty in the burger...it was amazing...thank you

Good food. Use them sometimes to feed the boys in the garage. The boys r happy, which makes the garage run smooth. So ya good people

Great food! Everything is homemade, fresh and well packaged for a delivery service. Always my go to burger takeaway! My only criticism would be for the burgers to be a little more juicy but it's a minor thing everything tastes spot on.

This used to be one of my favourite burger places in Brighton, and now the delivery is usually late and the chips are soggy. Disappointing really as I've been eating burgers from this place since it opened and now will probably not order from here again.

Ordered via Deliveroo, at 19:30 had to ring up 1 hr later to see where the food was. Woman on end of phone said food is ready and is waiting for driver for delivery. Called again 30 mins later and she said it left when we rang 30 mins earlier. Food then arrived stone cold and soggy. Restaurant can’t do anything but apologise and can’t refund because it’s Deliveroo dealing with the order. I would not recommend or order from here ever again. Poor delivery. Poor food , BAD SERVICE.

This place used to be my favourite place until I ordered last night when the order arrived I opened it and it was somebody else's order then they sent out the right order which we received and the burger was so dry and overcooked that I couldn't even eat it, my chips tasted like dirty oil and were cold. my partner ordered chicken with sauce over it ,came plain I would rather wait an hour for my food and it be right then it be completely rushed and disgusting and uneatable just wasted £25 all my food went in the bin

Absolutely delicious and great portion size! Definitely recommend. Jalapeño cheese croquettes are so tasty, especially with the house sauce!

I don’t live in Brighton but over the last 4 years or so I’ve used this place maybe 4/5 occasions when visiting the area. I’ve known about Smoque since using their Burgess Hill shop which is excellent. Back to this place though… the food has always been very good, although if I’m completely honest never quite as nice as the BH shop - not sure why. I’ve got my partner into the Smoque brand, she also highly rates the burgers now. I usually have the Mexicano or the cajun chicken - just sooooo damn tasty! I’ve found wait times to be a little long, we went a week ago on a Saturday evening where it wasn’t particularly busy in my opinion and had a 20-25 min wait. I think they need to find new premises, the BH store is smart, feels clean etc, but this place looks cobbled together with not enough space for customers or staff. There also a weird smell, not sure if it’s their premises or what but it’s a little off-putting, so much so that if I was a new customer turning up there I’d probably not bother ordering. Parking can be a bit of a lottery as it’s full of residents cars normally. Great burgers and fries in any case.

The Burgers are Spot on, had the cajun Fries were a bit soggy but tasted amazing. The chicken tenders were unbelievable. The Tower chicken burger was 10/10

We have been ordering from this place for more than 4 years and they are always fantastic. The people are lovely in there and whether I picked up or choosed a delivery the staff has always been polite and joyous. Definitely worth the price for the food quality and courteousness of the staff. Whenever there's been an issue they have rectified it immediately, we had a missing item? Delivered back in 5 minutes. Once I didn't hear the door, they rang my phone and I missed the doorbell as well (appalling of me I am aware) I called back apologiesed and within 10 minutes they redelivered. I don't know how anyone can leave a bad review of this place, genuine good business doing good food, give their cakes and smoothies a try, they are delightful. Biscoff cheesecake is one of their best. On the delivery side, we lived all over Brighton and even when we lived far out towards the Universities campuses their site estimated a long wait but they delivered within that window and the food is NEVER SPILLED! Like never, considering the insignificant delivery charge compared to any other site, you would be doing yourself a disservice if you didn't try their food.

What a find, unreal food here! Came here for the first time this evening and it was great. We got the 2 burgers and 2 sides for £14 deal. The portions of fries are HUGE, easily enough for 2 people. Good veggie options too, I had the bean burger which was great. Lovely staff. As much as I’ll try not to, I just know I’ll be back all too regularly!

By now, it's been literally 2 hours and 15 minutes just for a regular burger meal to be delivered. They don't get in touch with you for the delay. 2 hours wasted with them. Still have not got my order.

Great cheese burgers and sides. Ordered three times now and it’s a solid, tasty, cheesy good time!

Ordered two burgers and one chips. One burger and chips were fine. The other burger should have had 5 different ingredients apart from the patty and chorizo. When I picked up the burger in the foil I thought it felt light. When I opened it there was a bun, patty, chorizo and nothing else. Not even any sauce. Just the driest saddest burger Ive ever had. The previous time I went here after going to pick up my food, had to wait another 25 minutes for food to be ready. This wouldnt have been so bad but 15 minutes after I got there and told them I was there to pick up food they still hadnt started it...they had forgotten to start it - twice. Not because theywere busy, they just forgot as order receipt had been moved after I first got there and said I wanted my food to go. As I had to catch a train I asked for refund before they had cooked it and guy behind counter said he didnt know how! I have seen him in there for more than 2 years - must have been lying to my face - thats pretty terrible really. Afraid I wont be ordering again as food been getting worse and worse over last 3 years... I should say I also contacted Smoqueburger about the latest order with my order number and heard nothing back.

I haven’t eaten here, might be good food I don’t know, but such a shame they feel entitled to park their delivery vehicle on the pavement right outside the grill, right underneath a sign which says do not park on the pavement! Portland Road used to be blighted by people parking on the pavement which endangered children coming out of the school and other pedestrians, it took a lot of time and a lot of effort to get the council to put up signs to prohibit this😡

Good burgers but everything sadly over priced, the sort of place I go once, get burned price wise and never go back, sorry! Nice people

Disappointed, this used to be the place to go if you wanted a burger, not ordered one for a few months as the last one wasn’t great but just ordered 3 burgers, 3 fries, 3 cans for £42 and the meat was overcooked (tough and dry around the edges) and bacon thick and chewy. Shame!

When everything actually arrives as ordered, they're decent burgers. However we've now waited 2+ hours for food on two occasions and both times items were wrong or missing.

I order from here all the time when I'm with my friends but I ordered on my own the other night . It took over two hours to get me and I had to ring up 3 times to inquire where it was eventually it turns up with things missing won't be coming back for while

Fantastic burgers really tasty and well made chips sides and sauces are lovely aswell.

Although I never expect much from fries after being wrapped hot and transported, although a bit soggy there seasoning saved them and was quite edible. However Smoque grill if your reading this, did you use the grill or an incinerator! You should be embarrassed with the quality of food you just sold me over your counter. Will not return. Would rather a Rustlers burger from the local Co-op all day long!

First time very impressed customer. Wife and I tried the grilled Cajun deluxe burgers. Loved every bite - taste, texture, freshness, fill all 10/10. Has a nice heat that lingers . And properly seasoned ( so many burger places just squeeze on a hot sauce). Loads of properly cooked fries and big crispy breaded onion rings with it . Overall a cut above any other burger meal I’ve tried. I liked dips but my wife found them over creamy as lots of mayo. Good value too for the quality and nice counter service from ‘Sep’. We are hooked.

Tonight. Wednesday 4th Jan. I saw a lady in your kitchen with her hair down and eating food whilst wearing winter gloves 🤮 she was in and out that kitchen just touching everything. Not in any uniform. Unhygienic is an understatement. Don't eat here.

RAW FOOD SERVED TO ME ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS!!! I have been a loyal customer for over 5 years. The past year or so they have been quite hit & miss. A couple of months ago they delivered two raw burger’s to me. I called to explain & the manager explained they only serve fully cooked burgers due to food safety. So they are aware of food safety requirements but choose to only enforce them when they’re not in a rush perhaps? They didn’t believe I had been given two raw burgers & kept trying to talk over me which I found rude but assumed they were having a stressful day due to the mistake(however, other people have said the same thing when they called to report undercooked food from here). They eventually agreed to send us new burgers. Since then I have ordered multiple times and most of the time the burgers were cooked but on a couple of occasions they were a little pink so I doubt were cooked fully & they most definitely are not temp checking their burgers. Today I waited over 2 & a half hours & was delivered the photos below. Raw again! If this burger was probed (which I assume it was not) it would of struggled to hit 50 degrees never mind the required 75 degrees! Severely undercooked. There are a lot of other people who have reported undercooked food from this branch, this isn’t a mistake it’s negligence. I won’t return here until they’re under new management.

Used to be our go-to place, was amazing. Not sure what's happened but they started being late. Then my last order didn't arrive, couldn't get hold of them (no answer on phone, email bounced back, no answer Facebook) had to get money back through bank. Then the next one was wrong and food soggy. Super disappointed, won't go back :(

The best burger we've had in ages. Fresh, hot and absolutely delicious. The southern beast is a must for any burger fan. 🍔 staff are very friendly and the shop itself is clean and well organised. We've been back since and were not disappointed.

Used the new take out shop in Hove Found the burgers bit dry and very salty and the fries were really over cooked. Very disappointed ☹️

Said on website it would take 10-30 mins to be delivered. I waited 45 mins then called them, they said a driver is picking it up very soon. 20 mins passed and still no delivery. Tried ringing them 5 times but no one picks up. Very angry. Will never be ordering from them again.

Don’t waste your time or money. Order didn’t even show up and called the resturant which said was on the way. Called back and didn’t want to know or resolve!

Waited 90 minutes for an estimated 35 minute delivery time, then phoned to query when the food would arrive. Forgot to put us on hold and heard the manager making rude comments so cancelled the order. Had been told 25 minutes earlier that it was 'on its way'. Not the first time we've had late or incorrect orders so definitely won't be using again. Update: 5 days later and they still haven't refunded the cost of the meal we never received. Absolutely ridiculous.

Nice food however wouldn’t suggest working for them as they pay peanuts & allow you to work for 4 weeks without telling you to log your hours. These hours will not be paid in full either.

Have had a few burgers from here and the one in Burgess Hill and their burgers are AMAZING. Have tried a few different ones all excellent. Their cheesecakes are also very good.

The food was good but gave me food poisoning. They deleted my review from JustEat which is fishy imo.

Used to be excellent, nowadays its nothing but problems. Two orders with missing items, the wait for it to finally come after you call and complain means your burger is all soggy and cold in the end. Also quality has changed over time. Size has reduced by about a 1/3 and the price naturally stayed the same. NEVER AGAIN sadly

Delivery starts super early and the drivers are always on time. No issues whatsoever with the exception of one week them not taking orders. Burgers are juicy and rich with ingredients with myself also taking a particular liking to the cheese bites. All in all definitely worth a try! If you collect, the average wait time I've experienced is 5 minutes. It's definitely fast food.

Fabulous staff and excellent food! Fresh coleslaw to die for and their onion rings are the best & freshest you can desire! The burgers are divine and I love the fact they still have their own delivery service with lovely drivers dropping off food with a smile!

I LOVE the food from here. You can't beat it on any level for a burger place. For food alone it would get more than a 5 star from me! The burgers are always fresh to death, the salad toppings are always so crisp and refreshing and the sauces full of flavour. The sides are also handmade which makes such a difference in a world of frozen 'mozarella poppers' etc etc. The chicken strips are absolutely superb, the coating hot and crunchy. The dips are my favourite part of these, home made garlic is especially good, you can see bits of dill or something else tasty in there too. The desserts are incredible, home made no bake cheesecake available in several flavours and they're out of this world. The cookies are stunning.Prices you can't beat make this my fave takeaway in Brighton hands down. Charlotte

Great burgers, great sides, great desserts. All comes in recyclable packaging, and very quick too. The food has been consistently good here for years.

I used to work there, didn't appreciate the treatment of some staff but all in all, burgers are fantastic! My fave is the Mexicano Hot, perfect burger if you like a bit of spice. Love that they've now introduced a Vegan menu too, now the OH is happy. Can't go wrong with Smoque Burger. #BestBurgersInBrighton

Any kind of burger is normally great here but the chips??? Always taste like they’ve been regenerated or sitting for hours!!! Just really let’s it down

Stopped using this place for a little while as in my opinion chips went downhill but have used again a few times recently and very nice again with reasonable delivery times

Normally decent food, tonight they made a mistake with my order, put hot chilli sauce instead of sweet chilli sauce even though I ordered online(very hard to not read the ticket properly), instead of dealing with the situation professionally, they agreed to send the right order, then rang back up asking for the other burger back, treating me as I was trying to rip them off, Also I could hear one of the chefs laughing in the background thinking something's funny? The team working there are a bit of a joke to be honest and with this bad attitude and way of treating regular customers won't be good for business.

Best burger in Brighton by miles! Not to mention the Cajun fries are absolutely delish 👏🏽

Normally good food and service here but not today. Called to see if my order was ready before I popped round in the rain and the lovely Amy said yes, so I got there within 3ish minutes. Paid for my order via card and took my food. Got back to the office, stone cold and stale chips. Fair enough things happen. Called the shop to get another portion which Amy agreed. Sweet. Got back to the office for a second time, around the corner I might add so not far at all but enough to get soaked in the rain. Chips were better but not their usual greatness which Amy already explained they had a different supplier, fine. Ate a few but they just didn't hit the spot as to be expected after Amy's explanation. I then opened the burger took one bite and realized it was a single patty not a double. By this point I'd already got soaked and couldn't be arsed to wait for another as I've got ISH to do. Went back for a full refund so I could get something somewhere else. The cook then piped up asking for my ticket, didn't have one but the order was on my phone. Anyway I had to remind him I saw him smirking the last time I had to come back and get fresh chips. All very well having a laugh but not when its your mistake. The cocky cook trying to tell me I'm lucky...?? Really ? You bloody doughnut can't even prepare a simple burger to spec. Threaten me again and I'll drag you out that shop. You DRIP!

Can't fault the food its fab, but delivery is absolutely horrendous!!. Waited almost 2 & 1/2 hrs last time we ordered. Each time we try to give them the benefit of the doubt because we totally understand its popular & can get busy but when its says delivery is an 1hr & 20mins then thats a joke!, we only live in woodingdean!!!. Every single time its late & at least 3 out of 5 times items are missing from the order!. So with both those issues taken into account especially when you are paying £45/50 for a delivery for our family on any level thats terrible service!. 😞

Probably the best burger I've had from a delivery service in Brighton. Took a little while longer than expected to arrive, however, it was 100% worth the wait!

My partner and I have been here a few times and we have always loved it, tonight however wasn't so great! The buns were soaked in sauce it was soggy. The beef was dry and bland, the bacon was burnt and rock hard, the chicken was dry and bland also. The cheese bites were bland. Really disappointed.
