Smokin' Grill Steakhouse & Bar in Croydon

We recently ordered a takeaway from Smokin Grill. The steak was cooked to perfection and the fries were spot on too. Very reasonably priced for the quality. Would definitely eat in/ order a take away again.

Food looked nice but the taste is not worth the price. Felt disappointed!!!

I don't know how anyone can star the food anything below 5 stars! We had the fillet steak and ribs with sides of hand cut fries and crispy onion rings. The fillet and ribs absolutely melt in your mouth cooked to ABSOLUTE perfection really enjoyed every mouthful... I will definitely be coming back here again. Friendly staff and an ABSOLUTELY SUPERB CHEF.. i genuinely feel its probably one of the best steaks I've ever had... Thank you!

The nachos were oven baked not micro waved and both the burger and beef ribs were exceptional. The mash potato was 5 stars on its own. We will return

Good food, was actually surprised by the Vegan burger. Loaded fries were great too. But the restaurant was freezing. Probably get a take out next time.

Friendly staff, great steak. Only downside was that they didn't have any lactose free desserts (half our group was lactose intolerant). To be fair, we didn't check ahead. We'll give advanced warning next time!

Really friendly spot that serves delicious steak - we had the rib eye and our kids loved their choices too (beef burger and macaroni cheese). Generous portions and excellent service from the manager there. The chef was friendly and even popped out to say hello. Will definitely be coming back soon!

I wasn't a customer, but a delivery driver picking up an order. The waiter was very courteous, and held the door open for me to after I picked up my order. Suaveness incarnate. No other restaurant has the decency.

Nice decor good atmosphere, good friendly service, the wait time for the food was not very long and the food was nice and hot as well as fresh and the portions we good. Prices were reasonable too so will be going again and would definitely recommend.

Fantastic tasty steaks, cooked to perfection for all five in our party. Sides and sauces were epic too! Staff were friendly and knowledgable. Would love to see a wider selection of wines!

Nice place to have a steak, Sadly though I ordered my steak as the chef would reccomend, and for some reason he butterflied the steak and cooked each piece differently, which for me ruined the steak overall. The time from order to table was also a bit long, mostly due to online orders taking priority, as the restaurant itself was not busy. Staff were excellent, polite, friendly and sympathetic and I did make my complaint about the steak known, but no resolution was offered. It wasn't so bad that I felt I should dispute this, but at the same time, the wait plus the chefs indecision on how to cook a steak, disparages me from returning. If you are thinking of visiting, it's decent, just make sure you're not too hungry as you may have a little wait before food arrives.

Don’t let the small amount of negative reviews steer you away from this restaurant. The food is magnificent !! And good value for money. The atmosphere is wonderful. We were helped by two servers called Nisha and Sajeeb which were 2 of the most lovely, polite and helpful people. Who clearly care about the business. I Only have positive things to say about this place. I never write reviews but I had too in this case !! One of the best steakhouses in this area. And the portions sizes are extremely generous!!

From the reviews we thought we would try. All I can say is I presume eating in is great, the food via delivery is shocking! Over £50 and to be honest it looks worse than the food I feed by dog! It was cold, processed and the order was wrong. It’s all just gone in the bin. Sadly we won’t be using this service again.

Excellent fillet steak, melts in the mouth. Sides were lovely too and the service was very pleasant. Definitely will be coming back here.

Tried this place last week, spur of the moment after a Google search...I don't know how I haven't been here before. Food is all halal, steak was cooked to perfection and simply delicious. Onion rings were also superb. Above all the customer service... Absolutely brilliant. Going again today 😂

I had an incredible dining experience at the steakhouse! The ambiance was warm and inviting, the staff were attentive and friendly, and the star of the show was undoubtedly the perfectly cooked steak. Each bite was a burst of flavor and tenderness, showcasing their culinary expertise. The extensive wine selection paired wonderfully with the meal, enhancing the overall dining pleasure. I can't wait to return and indulge in another fantastic meal at this steakhouse!

My family and I ate here whilst celebrating our anniversary. The place is such a hidden gem 💎. Amazing tasting food served with very decent portions! OMG MOUTH WATERING buffalo wings and what a tasty Steak ! Everybody enjoyed the food and dessert! Great prices , very friendly staff ! The young lady providing service was so polite and always caring and she makes fantastic cocktails! A must go place ! 5 stars ⭐️ A++++

Visited first time for fathers day. Firstly the service was great. Very friendly and welcoming. Both the man who greeted us at the door and the very friendly waiter. Porter house steak was very good. Everyone enjoyed their food. They had a kids menu. Only thing I would suggest is maybe adding kids deserts because often kids won't eat a whole adult dessert such as a large Sunday special ice cream. Would recommend for sure 👌

Great experience last night at this hidden gem in Kenley! We need to support our local businesses otherwise we will loose them. 6 of us went for dinner last night and I have to say the food was excellent, value for money and well presented. The food is amazing the portion sizes are bigger than we thought they would be. The man who served us was absolutely lovely so helpful and chatty he showed us the party room and was really friendly it was a nice change for a server to have time for diners and make effort (wish I got his name so he could get the praise he deserves from his boss working sunday 14th may at 3pm) Definitely recommended and will be going back.

We had a fantastic, romantic night out. The lovely young man Ryan, was very attentive with us, making sure all our needs were met. Top-notch customer service. The bar machines can get quite noisy but the ambient music/atmosphere makes up for it :). The steaks were very delicious and we ultimately had a lovely date night. Definitely a hidden gem in Kenley and will be returning.

Visited this afternoon for the first time and was very impressed. The welcome we received on arrival was superb , I was particularly pleased on how sparkling clean the glasses were (no horrible dishwasher stains) and clean and tidy and extremely pleasant an environment it was, in which to enjoy your meal. A good start, but was the food any good? YES certainly was, beautifully presented and extremely tasty and FRESH. Good choice of drinks and reasonably priced. Definitely recommend our friends to go there and we will be going back. All round a great experience

Tried the restaurant a few times. Owner / manager is lovely, unfortunately food was very delayed, jalapeños were frozen in the middle and chicken was very rubbery and inedible.

Second time we've been here and really enjoyed it each time. As vegetarians we were pleasantly surprised with the choice. Vegan burger was super good, we shared asparagus, garlic mushrooms and fries on the side and all were great. The garlic mushrooms in particular were delicious. Staff are so friendly and attentive, chef even came out to ask how we were enjoying our meal. Love this local restaurant and will certainly be back.

We went for a meal here on the spur of the moment. And we really enjoyed it. The starters were nicely presented. I had the lamb chops which came with a really delicious salsa. Our mains were tasty and very generous in size. The wine selection was very good too and so was the service. We'll be going back again soon.

Found this place by accident, Booked on line. The steaks tender tender tender Good service. More people need to try this, your missing out if you don't.

The staff were lovely, jovial and accommodating. The food was excellent there were 9 of us and none had any complaints about the food or the atmosphere. Everybody enjoyed themselves emensly. Would recommend a visit and will definitely be going back.

I had the fillet with blue cheese sauce and fries and it was delicious. We all enjoyed our food but the service was really slow and the side of garlic bread with cheese was one of those cheap baguette garlic bread with some grated cheese on it. I also had a stick toffee pudding but it was just a syrup sponge cake. They had a live singer which was lovely although it was difficult to talk over dinner when they were on.

Please ignore all negative reviews on this newly opened restaurant, The staff are attentive, friendly and very welcoming! For starters, salmon and crab meat cakes, buffalo chicken wings, for mains, steakhouse porter steak, grilled salmon salad. It was a lovely change to sit and eat in a restaurant with everything tasting fresh and well cooked! The garlic butter sauce is out of this world! Will 100% be returning for another fantastic meal!

Loved the food. Very reasonable for other grills. Chicken burger is to die for and the steaks are tender and good value.Been there a dozen times and haven't been disappointed.

New favourite steakhouse! We randomly decided to pop in and chance a quick dinner whilst the kids were at a sports club and were delighted with the food. I had a ribeye medium well and it was tender and loved the flame grilled flavour. Husband had a philly steak sandwich and he too was very happy. Prices are very reasonable and the service was excellent. Will definitely be back!

Great new restaurant opened up in 2022, we didn't know it was here! Went for dinner randomly, as I'm veggie I don't usually go to steakhouses. But actually they have loads of great veggie food! We had a veggie burger and a vegan burger which were both excellent! Good selection of starters and sides, all very good quality food! Jalapenos and grilled asparagus and garlic mushrooms as sides were all really good! They have some interesting cocktails, alcoholic and non alcoholic. We went for alcoholic milkshakes for desert which was interesting! The place is very clean, tidy and smart looking as it seems to be quite newly refitted. Very good, will come back again

Ordered a steak asked for medium well when turned up was medium rare also my sister order a burger which wasn't cooked properly no one else in there apart from 5 off us on a Saturday says it all but one thing I will say is that the 2 ladies serving front off desk was really good shame the food wasn't for the money

Today was my birthday and my husband wanted to take me out to celebrate.We went to the Smokin' Grill Steakhouse in Kenley for lunch and we've had the best ever experience we've ever had!The guys that served us today (I guess the owners) went above and beyond from my cocktail making to the cooking of the stakes we had, to talking to us and being "the human being" everyone should be. I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the restaurant, the wine glass (spotless), the taste of the food!!!Just heavenly!!!Even my double espresso was FABULOS!The whole dining experience was out of this world today and they didn't even know it was my Birthday today as I didn't tell them. Fabulous people and fabulous lunch comprised of a rib-eye Steak with butter and garlic mushrooms and mushroom sauce and and the biggest steak in the menu (500g) with spinach and mushroom sauce.Both mains came with a little (very fresh) salad and both steaks were so beautifully cooked that they would melt in your mouth, plus the subtle smokiness of both steaks!!!Oh my God!!! For starter, we shared a plate of nachos and, I wanted to keep the jalapeños for my steak!The guys served us extra jalapeños with the stakes just because I said I loved them! It was an absolute pleasure to be there today and to taste this food that I didn't taste in any other restaurant I've been (and I have been in quite a few)! I cannot recommend this restaurant enough and I believe words cannot describe the service and the taste of the food these amazing people have cooked for us, unless you go there and experience it on your own! Not a good first experience. Had nachos which for the price was a ridiculously small portion size. The salsa and guacamole was watery and obviously from a jar. I was told the coleslaw was made onsite, if only it was!! I know the difference between the two because I regularly make my own, and believe me theirs tasted like plastic! Pretty much everything that I could observe was frozen or shop bought and not fresh! At the prices they are charging they really should do better or i can't see the restaurant lasting long. Any chef or even cook worth their salt would take the time to at least freshly prepare things like salsa, guacamole and coleslaw. After all, it's not like the place is that busy that they don't have time to do this. Even my young children can prepare these simple things!! Unfortunately not worth the money they are charging and we won't be going back. Come on guys pull your finger out!!

I was really looking forward to a great quality steak house coming to Kenley. Unfortunately I’m very disappointed, instead we have a cheap low end steak restaurant. The chicken wing starter was good, but the menu said nothing about being able to have different sauces which we found out after. The main course steak was a complete disappointment. Asked for medium, got med/well. Had the 500g scotch porterhouse, poor quality and no taste, the fillet looked bigger and better at 300g but still over cooked and lacked any taste. Desert….. well had the brownie. They would have done better buying a Betty Crocker mix at £2.99 from Tesco. Instead is was a poor Makro version very small square. They could really improve by using far better steaks, home made deserts and more love of food rather than dishing up pre bought stuff. Best thing was the onion rings and fat chips, which isn’t a great advert. So for the cost, £85 for 2 people 3 courses it wasn’t a great experience.

Went there for a meal, have emailed and rung 3 times as we have been throwing up ever since we ate there but they don’t seem interested at all.

After having gone for an early dinner with friends, the restaurant was quiet but with a good selection of background music, we didn’t notice. There was a wide selection on the menu and the steak I ordered was tasty, cooked as I had asked and was well presented. Staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. This is a great place to go and I will definitely be going back again, with family. So nice to have a good place to eat locally in Kenley. Would recommend paying a visit.

Went to support a (fairly) new local business and don't recognise the few poor reviews. My Porterhouse was cooked to perfect medium rare and was well rested, tender and delicious. We all cleared our plates, even the kids. Best onion rings I've had in a long time too! Friendly, attentive service and nice decor which, with the wood finish, means even a full restaurant, isn't too noisy like they can be. Give it a go.

Nice little find. Generous portions and good value for money. Were not too impressed with the starter but main dish was fab. Great service too, waitress really helpful & knowledgeable about each dish. Not great for parking but public transport links are good. Would recommend and will definitely go again.

Usually this place is ok, went and picked up a burger and got it home to find what resembled a hockey puck, and despite paying extra for cheese, no cheese. Rang them up for a replacement which they delivered only to find and almost identical one. Won’t be going back!

I went to this newly opened restaurant with my other half expecting the same thing as any other steak house. To my surprise the place was wonderful! We were customers of the last restaurant that was there so was a bit worried. However i honestly believe that "Smokin Grill Steakhouse" is a perfect replacement. The staff were very professional, dressed smart and were happy to help with a smile on their face. The food was delicious! I recommend the Salmon fillet...but don't forget to order at least one cocktail. My other half had a steak which was perfectly cooked how he likes it. This beautifully decorated restaurant definitely deserves a try and perhaps another look at from those who gave lower ratings. We would like to thank the owner, waitress, chef and all the staff for a fantastic dinner. We will definitely be coming again.

Disappointing…. I had high hopes for this place but I think they need a few weeks to get things settled - there is always a bit of a risk going to a new restaurant in the first couple of weeks of it opening. On the whole food was below average. Not all food was cooked fresh - chicken wings had clearly been cooked in advance and were served cold. I don’t think they have got the hang of the grill temp - children's burgers were cremated, adult burgers were black on the outside and undercooked in the middle. Waiting staff are pleasant enough but I don’t think any of them have worked in a restaurant before. No manager in sight which was a surprise given they have only just opened. Hopefully things will improve - we could do with a decent grill place in Kenley. Think I will give it a few months and keep an eye on the reviews for signs of improvement. In the mean time there is always Krunk or 5Guys on delivery for a burger or 4 locos for a steak.

Really Very Disappointing. Dined on Sunday evening. Completely empty and no atmosphere. Strange choice of music for a restaurant (Eric Clatpton). Ordered Chicken wings and Nacho's with pulled Beef to start. The wings were good. the Nacho's were accompanied by shop-bought Guacamole which was tasteless and it was pointless having the pulled beef - it was literally a teaspoon dollop. For mains we ordered Philli-Cheese steak - Lots of meat but either poor quality steak or poorly cooked. It was very difficult to chew. I ordered the Scottish Porter house which at £20 was utterly disappointing. The whole steak tasted of cooking oil, a taste that we could not get rid of for the whole evening, Clearly the pan wasn't hot enough, the fat wasn't rendered but was plentiful. Even worse, requesting medium-rare we were served closer to Blue/Raw meat for the most part. There is not much I wont eat but that was difficult. Even worse than this were the sides. The spinach was tasteless, watery and seemed as though it had been microwaved. The Asparagus was brought out well before the steaks and was cold. The Mac & cheese looked great but was disgusting. Neither, my partner, daughter or I could eat it - I suspect it was a packet mix with cheddar melted on top. Drinks were ok, they had a decent selection of beer, the Gin and tonic came as is, no garnish but they did add a slice of lime after requesting. The waitress was polite but clearly has little experience. We felt for her, she was clearly mortified when we sent bits back. Super apologetic. They comped the Mac and Cheese but even so, Ive honestly never had such a poor meal for £80. Better off saving your money and going to Wetherspoons for your steak, It can't be any worse. Such a shame.

Smokin Grill in Kenley i highly recommend. I live local and to have a restaurant that cooks steaks like this and has young and enthusiastic staff who know the offering is a breath of fresh air to Kenley and the surrounding areas. The Owner has got this right, good luck as you've done your homework and you know what people expect to stay local and not have to travel a far for a good meal.

Keen to support a new local business but such a disappointment. Dreadful experience. My food was inedible. No steak knives in a steak restaurant. No one seemed to have a clue what they were doing. 20 minute wait for drinks and an hour wait for food. In fairness two of our group ate their meals but we will not be returning.
