It’s not as that good , charged like £17.50 for very average piece of fish and drink God it’s extremely expensive for Norbury

I visited Frydays today, and I can't say enough good things about it! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, making me feel right at home. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that my experience was nothing short of amazing. Now, let's talk about the food! The fish was perfectly cooked, with a light and crispy batter that had just the right amount of seasoning. It was flaky and tender on the inside, absolutely delicious! The chips were golden and crispy, seasoned to perfection, and complemented the fish wonderfully. I also appreciated the generous portion sizes, making it great value for money. To top it all off, the shop offered a variety of tasty sauces and sides, which added even flavour to the meal. Overall, I highly recommend this fish and chips shop to anyone looking for a delightful dining experience. I can't wait to go back!

I recently bought chips from Frydays, and I was quite disappointed with the quality. The chips had a strong, unpleasant smell of old oil, which made them taste off. It was clear that the oil wasn’t fresh, and this really affected the overall flavor. The taste was very different from what I expected, and not in a good way. Based on my experience, I would not recommend buying food from this place. I hope they can improve their cooking standards, especially when it comes to using fresh oil, as it would make a big difference in quality.

It’s a very nice place and very excellent customer services. Their fish and chips is so yummy and l will highly recommend this place. You can dine in and also do take away. Very clean and cozy place not very hard to locate near the road plus child friendly. Check it out when you in the area.

We’ve been coming here for years. It is the best fish and chips! The fish is always fresh. The customer service is excellent. It is hugely popular in the area and long may it stay!

The food is just not nice at all, it's so raw, I ask for well-done chips I got dry and raw, I previously ordered cod and the batter at the top was done and the bottom was raw the food also has a bad smell to it. The only this is good Is the portion, I'm sorry i had that made me chuckle a bit o are you telling me which fish and chips shop i walked into, take some accountability and stop acting deluded.

Recently dine there, i have never tried a taste like that, the food was so fresh and well cooked, atmosphere was very nice, staff was amazing, nice setting, highly recommended

Visiting from the US, was craving some fish & chips so my uncle took my mother and I here. It hit the spot for sure! Best fish & chips I've had in nearly a decade at least, and the staff are nothing short of lovely. Highly suggest if you're looking for a good eat and great ambiance from lovely people. 5 stars!

A pleasure to see eaten here, the people very friendly and the food delicious. You can tell that they make it on the spot, the perfect service 👌 👍. Well decorated place, very clean kitchen. And a pleasant place to talk quietly. I don't usually give 5 stars only to places that deserve it and this is one of them.

My first time visiting this place the staff are very friendly and welcoming the food is well advertised on the menu and reasonably priced and freshly cooked which l liked will definitely go back for seconds without any doubt

You can tell that the quality of the fish is good. They also make it fresh and chips were on point too. It's pretty close the quality of Kennedys in Streatham but this is a little pricier. I'd also suggest they keep & offer onion vinegar. Also a traditional chippie doesn't give salad. Keep it classic, otherwise very good.

Used to visit often when I worked locally, popped in again for a sit down supper and we were not disappointed, lovely food and surroundings, great service.

Frydays fish and chips bar has a great sit-in atmosphere. The food is fresh and always consistent. They have an extensive menu.

the guy almost had a fight with young kids because he didn’t let them go to the toilet honestly how is that even fair fighting young kid because over using the toilet

The BEST Fish and Chips I've ever had. I've returned to the shop a few times and the standard remains the same. Honestly, cannot fault it! Great service too, I call ahead to place my order and it's ready on my arrival. Thank you!

Had delivery fish is very good but chips £4:50 no good as I've got no real potato only crunchy end bit so avoid ordering chips as looks like leftovers is given away in my order Sorry for this not happy with my order not worth the amount paid.

Tasty fish and chips at a good price, excellent portions and a very kind owner

Fish was sold as large but obviously wasn't. Also a quarter of the fish was missing and disguised with empty batter. Been going for years so surprised by bad quality and considering both fish and chips cost over £18 it was very very disappointing.

Stopped off to see if this place did a good fish n chips and left with buyers remorse. Dining in was more expensive and really not worth it. Service was good, server was pleasant and friendly but dining experience wasn't great. Background music was very annoying 😒 and caused me a headache. Portions were massive but batter too thick and tastless. Wouldn't go back and wasted money checking it out.

Shambolic customer service. Ordered chips and asked to be packed in two separate bags. The man asked me rudely to pack my own chips and put my own sauces. He was willing to pack all other customers requests as normal. This was very embarrassing for me as there was customers behind watching. Absolute joke customer service and then has the audacity to say you used all my sauce. Avoid at all costs Really bad customer service experience!

worker was incredibly rude and spoke to me abhorrently. the food was average and the prices are a joke. if you want soggy food then you know where to come.

The batter is almost a separate entity from the fish. It manages to be soggy and hard at the same time. Staff on duty didn’t listen to me and I had to repeat myself three times.

We enjoy the fish and chips here. The service is good as well. The pickled onions were not good though.

(You can dine in as well) The food is always so fresh and delicious as well as speedy. The staff here are lovely, they're polite, efficient and genuinely take pride in their work. This establishment is owned and run by a friend of mine and I have to be honest I am never disappointed, the quality of the food is always top notch and the service is equally as good, a must visit sit in / takeaway if you are living in or visiting the area.

First time user of this place. Good quality are very friendly. Ordered Plaice for my 88 year old Mum with Dementia & she ate the whole lot which is unheard of. I also ordered 2 cod & chips for myself & daughter & was very tasty.

I don't like to leave bad reviews however the quality of our fish and chips was so poor I felt it important to share. It was very cold on arrival and the soggy batter was completely stuck to the wrapping meaning that it had to be ripped off in small pieces. The fish was itself was slimey and had no flavour - we were unable to eat it. The chips and curry sauce were OK, unfortunately we did not receive the pickled egg that we ordered. This was very poor all round.

Best chips I've had and I'm from the beach, service was impeccable 🌟

As well as great traditional battered fish options this place also offers grilled fish options too like the grilled salmon that I tried, so this is great place for those who are looking for gluten free alternatives. This is the second time I've had take out from this place. Impressed with the quality or service on both occasions. I particularly liked the chips which were nice and crispy on the outside yet still had plenty of fluffiness on the inside even by the time I got them home on my 10 minute walk. My chips weren't crispy but ended up being soggy on the 2nd occasion by the time I got home, but I discovered why! Simple, so depending on whether your preference is for crispy ot soggy chips. Before they serve and package up your chips, ask them to put them in a paper bag (like the one in my picture in this review) if your prefe soggy, or if you prefer crispy request for the chips to be put in a cardboard box (like one that my grilled salmon and salad were in in the photo).

Visited today. A very nice guy served me. I needed to serve 7 hungry individuals and I told him about this. Lo and behold he gave me the perfect solution! Extremely impressed with the chips and food at this place. I will be visiting again soon. Well done. Constructive notes: 1. Maybe the chips could be slightly thicker as this could possibly lead to less oil being soaked up by the chips? 2. I think malt vinegar was used on my chips which was lovely but if there is any way to use the traditional chip shop vinegar this would be cool too. But again - either way I am happy - just offering some points to help the business improve and remain strong. Keep up the good work guys.

Popped into Fryday’s for dinner with my son Harry... brilliant place/plaice.... patient and kind owner and staff, delicious fresh fish and perfect chips 😉. Plus excellent clean restaurant if like me you don’t want to do any washing up at home. Highly recommended.

They advertise as halal but have BYO on the window!!! 🥴🥴 How does that work? What's next, halal pork pies? Can't trust!
