The ambience ,food and service is so good and the staff named amal he is so good and passionate for his job.i am taking this review opportunity to appreciate the amal for his service.

We enjoyed our Visit, tasty and authentic food , good value for money and tastefully decorated. The service was on the slower side , so we decided not to go second round of kerala tea with our dinner:)

We walked into this place spontaneously and the staff was very friendly and accommodating! The Butter chicken was amazing and the meal combo definitely pays off but the food was very spicy so next time, we’ll have to change our orders. This just proves that this place is very authentic and we would definitely come again!

I went in today with my family to celebrate my aunt’s birthday and everything was amazing! The atmosphere, the service, the food was exceptional! We were a bit confused with some of the menu items and our server took his time to explain it to us. The food was amazing, we had the chicken/prawn devil, chicken fry and it was all delicious but if you cannot tolerate spice I would tell them ahead because it was very spicy but delicious! We tried a lot of the mains and I can tell you now that no matter what you pick, it will not disappoint! Will definitely be back in the future!

Very cozy home food, hits close to home, with songs playing in the background, feels like a very comfortable atmosphere! Good food as well, very close to authentic Kerala food!

I had an amazing experience at Taste of Kerala! The flavors were absolutely authentic — rich, vibrant, and full of that traditional Kerala warmth. Every dish we tried, from the fish curry to the parotta and beef fry, was cooked to perfection. The use of spices was spot on — bold but not overwhelming. A big shoutout to Cristo, who took excellent care of us. His knowledge of the menu and friendly service really elevated the whole experience. He made some great recommendations that we wouldn’t have tried otherwise, and they turned out to be our favorites! If you’re looking for a real taste of South India, this place is a must. Can’t wait to come back!

Best kappa biriyani I've had outside Kerala! It was spicy and very tasty, absolute wonderful chef. Quantity is really good too, worth the money.

Came to Taste of Kerala with a friend for a hearty Sunday lunch for a complete weekend experience. Ordered pazhampori, veg express meals, kappa biriyani and lime soda. Must say the food took us back to our hometown and was delicious! Kappa biriyani was elite as per my friend as well. Overall a fantastic experience and we will definitely be coming back again! :)

I went in craving something authentic and comforting, and I left with both my heart and stomach full. I started with two crispy vadas—perfectly spiced, crunchy on the outside and soft inside, served with a side of coconut chutney that brought the flavour home. The highlight was the fish curry with kappa (tapioca)—an absolute standout. The curry had that unmistakable Kerala punch: tangy, spicy, and full of depth, just the way it’s made back home. The fish was tender and fresh, and the kappa was soft, well-seasoned, and the perfect pairing. It’s rare to find this dish made so authentically outside Kerala. I rounded off the meal with their Kerala special chaya (tea)—sweet, strong, and brewed with love, it was the ideal ending to a memorable meal. The service was friendly, the ambiance simple but warm, and the food? Pure nostalgia. Rating: 5/5 – A must-visit for anyone craving genuine Kerala flavours in the heart of Croydon.

The perfect destination for any keraliate who misses home. We keep coming here so often. It feels home away from home. There’s not one thing we can pick as good. Everything is so perfect. The staff is amazing and polite. My 20 month old son had an amazing time too.

I tried the Peri Peri Chicken Mandhi at taste of kerala and it was absolutely delicious! The chicken was tender and flavorful, with a perfect blend of spices. Tasted very authentic. The service was also good, with friendly and attentive staff.

Got a chicken briyani. It was just plain rice with chicken not briyani. Years ago I used to buy briyani. And it was amazing. Now it's way more expensive and bad quality food. Why? At least discount takeaway food. Really bad. At least call it plain rice with chicken. Improve your food. Where's your old chef gone?

Finally we found one of the best restaurants in Croydon. We had pazhampori with beef which was delicious. Then we ordered Chicken biriyani and signature dish of the day Jallikettu Mandi, which were mouthwatering. Maria made mango lassi for us and it was too good. And we would definitely recommend brew coffee and special tea.

Tried their peri peri Mandhi prepared by chef Gokul(Chef ts)..felt absolutely fantastic…was heaven to the taste buds…mandhi lovers will love this one for sure…😋😋. .should appreciate their service excellency. Definitely Worth the visit. Give it a try guys..👍🏻☺️

I had a very disappointing experience with this food parcel service. I ordered food for two, including two biryanis, but they only sent one salad. It’s very frustrating when basic items like this are missing, especially when you’re paying for a full meal for two people. The attention to detail and quality of service is seriously lacking.Definitely not happy and will think twice before ordering again.

Certainly the best authentic kerala restaurant I've tried in the UK. It isn't a fine dine restaurant but who cares as long as food is delicious. I can't rate less than 5*s for the authenticity of this restaurant. Staff are good and efficient but lack communication skills. Fish thali, parata, appam and chicken biryani are my favorites. Food is lot cheaper than other restaurants and it's real value for money. I've tried this place many times and would certainly recommend.

We’ve been frequenting the taste of Kerala for the past couple of years and have never been disappointed. The food is great. We’ve even catered big orders and our guests have always praised the food. Maria has been exceptional. She’s always cheerful and makes sure you enjoy your experience at Taste of Kerala.

I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. I ordered a starter, and it was a disaster. The oil used was clearly rancid, giving the dish an unpleasant taste and smell. For main course, I ordered Biryani, and unfortunately it was bland.Worse, that same rancid taste was present in the biryani too, I am unsure when they last changed the oil. It took almost 30 minutes to get the order too.

We had Fish Express meal from here. A very budget friendly meal which costs only 7.99 and includes fish fry, fish curry, cabbage thoran, rice, sambar, puliseri and salad. 😊
