Palace Spice in Croydon

Me and my friend stumbled upon the place, as we were just passing through the area, although we ordered the usual rice and vegetables as well as a nan bread we decided to go for meat dishes which we had never heard of so therefor never tried before and we were not disappointed in fact sll the food put before us was cooked to perfection.

I was craving indian so i went in personally and ordered some food. the service was really good i did not have to wait too long for my order. Moving on to the food, the food was immaculate it just hit the spot will defo order from them again.

Collected a delicious curry to eat at home, alongside some starters and popadoms. Best curry I’d had in a while. Very tasty!

Service was above and beyond. If you want good food that is reliably good every time, and you want service with a smile. Come here. The owner is a really nice guy and it's good to see this place thriving again. Welcome back.

Clean restaurant which of course is reassuring. Good portions of food that is high quality. Nice atmosphere within the restaurant.

The food was excellent, I got the perfect recommendation of the 'Bhuna' which was delicious and the customer service was really friendly. It's my new local.

By far the best restaurant in Crystal Palace! The food is incredible - head and shoulders above your average Indian Restaurant. The owner and staff are really lovely guys who deliver great service. I can't recommend this enough. Absolute must try for any one in the area.

Really wanted to like this after the reviews promised finally a good Indian local, but was left terribly disappointed with my chicken tikka. Overly sweet, no flavour whatsoever and just not nice.

What a delight!! When we first arrived the restaurant was empty with only one other diner. By the time we left the restaurant was full and having spoken to a couple of the other diners realised that there were quite a few regulars there! We were acknowledged and greeting warmly and a drinks order was taken. Shortly thereafter we ordered our starters and they arrived promptly and were delicious. Our mains arrived shortly after we finished our starters and again, were very tasty and full of flavour. Service was discreet but also attentive and prices were very reasonable. I would definitely recommend this place and will return again. Really lovely experience. Great staff and lovely Indian redgional food.

Excellent restaurant and probably the best Garlic Naan we’ve eaten in London!

Ordered takeaway and it was all so delicious! We had seen the hype on Crystal Palace Local Facebook group and we will not be ordering from anywhere else now. The saag paneer is my favourite. Very creamy and again delicious. Palace Spice Special Chingri was very tasty I would say it is a must try if you like a little spice and king prawns.

The best Indian restaurant I've ever been to! I'm so happy to see them open again. I usual only order takeaways from here but the moment I heard they had reopened I had to book a table for myself and my family.

The staff were helpful - food was ok, but it was lukewarm, and the portions seemed very small. We had to ask for the dessert menu, then there was only one dessert available.

We ordered a takeaway from here to be delivered to the Crystal Palace Camp Site. They delivered within 30mins and its safe to say it was one of the best Indian I have ever had. I had the Bengal Chicken, but had a Madras spice level, keema rice and Chilli naan. My 10 year old had a Chicken Tikka Masala, pilau rice and garlic naan. Hands down amazing and even called them to say thank you on behalf of my son and I 👍🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

First up drink order wrong and then main meals come scatterd even tho we ordered together i.e byriani came with veg curry but 10 mins later. Food was ok.. also the rose is echo falls dispite what the menu reads as we asked to see the bottle. Not great

We were walking in the street and saw this restaurant so decided to give it a try. The team is extremely nice and very efficient, the service was quick and the food was absolutely delicious. 12/10, nothing to say apart from fabulous. We had papadam, tandoori lamb (gorgeous) and king prawns with daal. We will definitely come back! 😍

Hi I am leaving a HONEST review because leaving 5 stars for every establishment everywhere in London regardless if its 5 stars is misleading and tbh London needs to do better with standards of food seriously. I believe the majority of London Indian restaraunt needs to study flavours and I am constantly dissapointed at the standard of a vindaloo in London. It's generally a tomato paste with chicken and chilli. That is not a vindaloo. Vindaloo has a rich depth of flavour with cardamon and all spice and is aromatic. Don't give reviews saying the vindaloo was amazing when it is not. My brother has worked on regent Street as a chef and ran a vegetarian establishment in shoreditch and worked in the forbidden city Beijing. this is ok at best but it was oily and missing depth. I cannot understand where real standards have gone to leave these 5 star reviews. The best vindaloo I have found thus far is from gurkhas. And that isn't even 5 star but finding a real vindaloo here is like finding a needle in a haystack. Thankyou for the free oily onion bharjis. This is not 5 stars. I feel like Gordon Ramsey telling Americans to stop being delusional. Some people have clearly not eaten a good curry before to keep dishing out 5 stars in London when it's 2.5 at best. Make London great again and stop dishing out 5 stars when it's not.

UPDATE four years later to say it’s still as phenomenal as ever. The best Indian restaurant in London! The best tarka dahl in London! It comes close to my Nana’s recipe, which is a huge compliment. We don’t go anywhere else for our Indian takeaway now; no where compares. Plus, the guys who work there are really lovely. My husband’s favourite is the Tikka Jalfrezi and Bengal Chicken, and I love the veggie dishes.

I don't know why every restaurant in south London serves sweet butter chicken. I ordered because of the high rating and reviews but it was not worth it at all. It is not authentic Indian food. I couldn't eat more than a bite of butter chicken and onion was cooked for tandoori chicken. Please put raw and red onions rings in ice water, then add spices and lemon. That's the only salad you need to serve with tandoori chicken. Butter chicken to hata hi do bhai menu se. I am very passionate about food and it disheartens me that I can't find good Indian food anywhere nearby. I had high hopes seeing this place was established in 1995. Very disappointed.

Basically grew up in the Palace spice and it’s where I found my love for Indian food. After it being closed for so long you can really see the lack of good quality Indian food in the area! Food is always as good as the last meal and service is top class! Would absolutely encourage to eat in as the personal touch and customer service is second to none :) so glad to have Manik and the team back up the palace. Welcome back guys, highly recommend!

First visit since restaurant reopening after fire damage. Very welcoming and food just as good as we remembered. Palace Spice was always our first port of call for take aways and they were very much missed during the closure period. Do hope all their regulars realise they are now back in business as I believe all their customer records were destroyed in fire.

A lovely, welcoming atmosphere and some fantastic food to tickle the taste buds and satisfy your craving for Indian cuisine. If you only head down there to have a chinwag with the Marvelous Manik, then you've done well. Recommended.

This was our first visit to Palace Spice since they reopened and it was every bit as good as we remember it. The staff are really friendly and attentive and the food is fantastic. If you’re in the area and fancy a good curry washed down with a nice cold pint of Kingfisher then this is the place to go. Highly recommended.

A welcome return of Crystal Palace’s best Indian restaurant. Used to be a regular when we lived close by for many years. Back up there today and the service was excellent and friendly and the food was top notch. In difficult times it’s important to support small businesses that offer excellence, and this is one of them. Also the offer of a Bangla beer (a rare find) is very welcome

Been waiting for this restaurant to reopen for a while after the shop nextdoor had a fire which spread into Palace Spice. We visit London a lot and always try and book a table here, very busy tonight and was greeted with a hug and a hand shake from the restaurant owner. My wife had the Balti and I had the Madras with onion bargees and egg fried rice. With a chilly naan, washed down with a bottle of wine. Everything yet again was spot on, and highly recommend this place if staying or living in Crystal Palace. First class service and food, keep up the good work 👍🏻

From the outside it looks like a run of the mill local curry house. But once inside you get to enjoy some of the most friendly service, as well as food that really is great. Delicate flavours and the perfect amount of spice. Super value...

Food is on point. The service is very prompt and we had an amazing time. Go spicy or go home! Excellent cuisine.

The main Bengal curry was congealed cold and gritty. The king prawn puri was the same with only a single prawn chopped into 7 pieces. Go for the normal prawn puri. Rice was average chapati and paratha was good but 60p mor expensive than my two Normal curry houses. Wonder if this will get posted. Strange as the last curry my mother order was delicious which is why I went of the standard

My husband & I decided on Palace Spice Crystal Palace for a lockdown 25th wedding anniversary meal tonight 29/06/21. The food was the best Indian food I've eaten in a decade and arrived promptly and best of all piping hot! The service was discreet, attentive and excellent and the establishment was scrupulously clean (including the bathroom!) Well worth a visit! We'll definitely be back!

Absolutely delicious, amazing service too. It was a Saturday night, so as can sometimes happen with take aways and them being busy I imagine , a naan was missed from my order. I called up and they sent me one very quickly. They actually gave me an extra free naan, some popapoms and dip as well. Thank you!

Truly excellent! I tried their food when visiting from Australia, and it was delicious. But that's not the most impressive part. I wanted to reach out some relatives who live nearby with some takeaway love but make it a surprise. The owner was more than happy to oblige: we swapped messages, had great chats and he made my family really happy in these dark times (and they loved their "brilliant" food too). Highly recommended.

The chicken korma and side dishes were very tasty, and of excellent quality. The meal was delivered within 10 minutes of placing the order. The delivery man was very polite. We will definitely use this restaurant again for future orders.

Chicken Dansak has just the right amount of 'heat' for me. Sag Aloo is a good balance of potato and spinach and is very tasty.

The food was excellent quality, very tasty and arrived piping hot. I did not eat in so cannot rate the restaurant service but gave 5 stars anyway. A great place for Indian food, would always recommend.
