Wish there was a place like this in ayrshire!!!!! Can't get over how amazing the food was!!! Loved the music aswell 👏

A little busy when we were in so had to wait a while but we were compensated for our time. Food was worth the wait and staff couldn't be any more helpful or apologetic. Definitely come back soon

This hotel was is very good service

£14 for a burger no chips included just the burger. - felt a bit mislead from social media showing big burgers, was an average burger with a slice of haggis on it nothing special about the same size as a McDonald's burger, the bun was probably the tastiest part that's what got the extra star. Service was good she was nice and smiley. Atmosphere was a bit bland Eminem on repeat 3 times was a bit much lol.

food was lovely. the service was amazing also, our server brooke was very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us! will definitely be back. x

Went there this week at lunch for a burger. Had the classic with bacon. Oh my... it was amazing.. perfect level of smokiness in the sauce, bacon tasty and the homemade marinated beef is heaven!! Pricing is just perfect for the great food quality and the quantity. My go-to burger place from today on! Last but not least, service is great. Relaxed and considerate.

First impression, cool AF. Funky decor, tunes for people with taste 😎. An epic fit for purpose, you better bring a belly joint. Burgers are the best in Glasgow in my opinion, but the additions and sides make this place. Heard they got a second venue too, be there shortly. Happy happy man ☺️

My first choice for huge portions of tasty scrans. ———————————— Loved it - service was great (was the guy’s first night working FOH too), food is banging, tunes are excellent. It was freezing every time someone came through the door - but that’s what happens when you visit on a -1C day. Decor is sparse but characterful - don’t come expecting luxury, this place is all about the food. We got 2 burgers, mozzarella sticks (with Cheetos crumb!), poutine and chicken tenders. All pretty solid portions, too much for us to eat (which is saying something). Everything is delicious. We will return, for the mozzarella sticks alone. Love that this is in the east end - can you open another branch in Baillieston, pls and thx 😂

Absolutely tremendous place for a scran. We sat outside when it was raining. Wasn't put off. Full place was great.

There was a big queue of folk wanting to go in and we initially weren't too keen on waiting the quoted 30 minutes but the family in front of us told us to wait as the food was sooooo worth it. Three members of staff on and they never ever stopped and the young slim dark haired chap-total legend by the way- kept us all in the loop and I can honestly say that I've never seen such hard working staff in my life. They all had fantastic personalities and the young lassie server was an absolute darling. Nothing was too much trouble and while we had a bit of a wait we were also suffering from a massive dose of food envy on seeing others food coming out. The last thing I'd have ever expected were a bunch of grannies getting wellied into their food while listening to Snoop Doggy Dog Dr Dre and Blackstreet but young and old were all tucking in and this young lad was celebrating his birthday when out of nowhere the server put on Happy Birthday by Stevie Wonder came out with a caterpillar cake and everyone sang Happy Birthday to him! Lovely touch, and although I didn't think the portions were particularly big, they'd done their homework because everything came out piping hot, and we were absolutely stuffed. Several diners got theirs put into a takeaway container and got to take it home. Whoever the chef or cook is are amazing, and the whole place had a great vibe. Loved it and would recommend it a thousand per cent. Would come back for the craic alone! Worth the 400-mile round trip, and thank you one and all! I'd the macaroni cheese with pulled pork and BBQ sauce. My beloved had the fish chips and pickled onion plus crushed pea mayonnaise, then a Vietnamese coffee and I'd an Irn Bru float. Clean plates all round!

Came for lunch after a walk in Glasgow green. Pram/baby friendly. Good changing area in the restroom and room for the pram to come in. Friendly staff! Good food, we had the iced Vietnamese coffee, chicken tenders, salt and chili fries and the hot Cheetos mozzarella sticks. They have outdoor seating too. Lots of wall paintings to look at!

Fabulous food and first class service

Visited this place for a friend's birthday over the weekend, and it was absolutely fantastic! The food was incredible, the staff were exceptional, and the atmosphere was perfect. We'll definitely be returning!

Had a lovely lady serve us last night around 8pm, didn’t catch her name but she had a pony tail in and brown hair- she was so so nice and helped us with the menu choices. The food was delicious, quick service, the venue is really nice too. Great decor and very clean toilets. Cannot recommend this place enough, a great gem 🤩

When I find something I enjoy this much, I tend to use this term so often, but, so here I go again! “what’s not to love” a great find in the Barra’s. Amazing food that does exactly what is says on the tin. Punchy fresh flavors, generous portion size, the friendliest of service. So much choice, love it! Well worth a visit.

This is the 2nd visit in 2 weeks, and it did not disappoint. The service was quick and friendly. The decor is a vibe. However, the food was amazing 👏🏻 👏🏻👏🏻 Ice cream floats, chicken tenders, loaded fries, and dirty burgers are just a few of the amazing dishes we had. If you love street food, get down to Smokey Trotters Kitchen ASAP

An eclectic and unique venue serving unique dishes, many of them with an Asian fusion twist. It's extremely dog friendly too which is an added bonus. From the menu we ordered the Dirty Dipper, Korean and Ooft chicken tenders, Mac Cheese with Stornoway, crispy onions and sriracha and the Katsu fries. The food was delicious, and very unique to the premises and would merit a 5* rating, however it is quite expensive and the portions are on the small side. In all, I will definitely return and would recommend if you wish to experience a unique venue serving quality food.

We liked the Smokey Trotters Kitchen, has some inside and some outside tables, the staff is super friendly and the menu has other options too besides burgers that I think is is the best part. We liked the crispy onions and chicken tacos, the burger was very juicy but I didn’t like the tip sauce. Recommend it!

Really enjoyed our first visit to Smokey’s, we had a fair bit of waiting but it was like the guy said the food will make up for it and it did! My only criticism would be wheelchair users be prepared to sit outside (it does have fantastic artwork on the walls to admire) there is a step into the main eating area inside with a narrowish door - I highly recommend they maybe invest in a portable ramp that can be used to get people in & out & maybe on their socials to say what the width of their door is. I’ll definitely be back though!

This was a gem of a place, some wee pitch I found by mistake as I was really hungry one night and was passing, 5 stars all round ⭐️ need to go back and try more of the menu as it was real different and quirky

Visited here today for the 1st time and was not disappointed, from the moment we stepped in the door we where welcome by a lovely guy who's name I didn't catch but he was very nice ans helpful with suggestions as we couldn't decide, glad we listened to him, the chicken tacos are absolutely beautiful, don't even start me on there snobby fries and the onionest, onion rings! Well all I can say is GET THEM! Will definitely be back to try other things on the menu 😍

Best burger ever, ever, without exception, diamond place in an unlikely location, you won’t be disappointed here, no really! Yummy! Don’t salt your chips though, my only complaint! Don’t know how to reply here, chips were too salty, I am a low salt person, but I’m nitpicking, burger was awesome! I’m @ the Barras every Sunday, btw lol Ixx

Such a lovely place. The food was all top notch, with kid food options as well. The staff were so friendly and accommodating to our 1 year old. And any establishment that is dog friendly is a plus in our books.

We seen this place on tiktok so decided to eat there but when we arrived a women was having a medical emergency. So we left. I hope she's fine but the place looks cool.

Went there for lunch today and got a warm welcome from the young lassie who served us.korean tenders and truffle fries were superb and we didn't wait long. Server came over for a chat and made sure we were happy. Great experience all round and we will be back.

Absolutely incredible meal. Do not let the appearance from the street fool you this place is beautiful and the food is utterly fantastic. Can definitely vouch for the fish tacos and the classic burger and both were the best we have ever eaten. 10/10

Can't recommend this place highly enough the burger was absolutely top class the chips were perfect the onion rings were nice and crispy but the biggest reason for the 5 star review is the staff!! We popped in this afternoon for lunch but unfortunately as soon as were seated our autistic daughter had a meltdown so we decided to leave, a member of staff followed us out to make sure everything was OK and to see if there was anything they could do, we were given menus to take with us incase we wanted take out. After a wee walk we ordered some food and waited in the car then walked back in to collect our order and sat at one of the outside tables to eat our food. Will definitely be back here

Amazing little restaurant. A hidden gem has been used in other interviews and it really is . You could easily walk past it but if you do venture down ally way you'll never forget the place !! The art work , atmosphere and vibe just draw you in !!! Was greeted by the lovely and very patient Brooke , who waited why I kept changing my mind on a vast and brilliantly tempting menu, everything sounded so good . In the end I went for the Dead Elvis burger it was an absolutely amazing burger so delicious. Cannot wait to revisit and try the tacos and chicken wings , whom the table next to me had . Gave me food envy . Thank you very smokey trotters kitchen for a great dining experience!

Best burger I ever had and the loaded onion rings were fantastic!

This was my 2nd time visiting Smokey Trotters, visited on a Sunday dinner time, sadly there wasn’t any tables available inside but that’s not the fault of the restaurant, we turned up without a booking. (It’s not the biggest place so if you are set on eating here I’d advise booking beforehand). We agreed to sit outside, still has a nice wee covered area that would be a lot better in the heat of the summer. I think we waited around 30-45 minutes for our food, there was 3 of us, a couple of burgers ordered and a few sides, it wasn’t a crazy amount of food to take that time, but you can tell the making of the food isn’t half-arsed. It’s good quality meat, battered well and presented even better. (Also worth mentioning that because there was quite a bit missing off the menu due to them not having it, they took the price of our drinks off of the final bill, which is a bit of a class act you don’t see very often). I think for the 3 of us, it worked out at around £20 each, and for the quality of the food I’d say that’s worth it, but as I said, it’s certainly worth booking before hand.

Popped in for a late lunch/early dinner and glad we did. Service was great, and an awesome vibe. Got the bootleg big mac which was incredible. All the burgers on the menu looked fantastic. Love the selection of sauces/dips. Only reason it drops a star is that the onion rings are frozen out a bag efforts which is disappointing especially at £5.50 for the privilege. Same could be said about the wings (I apologise if i’m wrong) but the buffalo sauce was dynamite so they get pass marks. Definitely wouldn’t stop me returning that’s for sure. UPDATE: Probably would’ve helped if i’d read the menu item above what I ordered noting they’re bought in onion rings. duh, my bad. I stand corrected on the wings so in that case they slapped. Defo 5/5.

It was everything I had imagined it would be. We have been trying to get here for over a year maybe more but understandably very busy on most occasions. We had the most amazing meal and can't wait to be back to try more of their menu!

Great food, great atmosphere. There was a slight hitch with our table that was out of the staff's control. They were great about it and even comped our (delicious)Vietnamese and korean chips. Will definitely be going back.

This past Saturday, my partner and I ventured to Smokey Trotters, lured in by their reputation for epic burgers. Stepping through the doors, we were immediately greeted by a welcoming vibe that felt more like a friend's place than a restaurant. For a hip hop fanatic like myself, it was like finding a kindred spirit's living room. The walls pulsed with vibrant murals of hip hop royalty - Snoop Dogg, 2Pac, and Notorious B.I.G. The soundtrack perfectly complemented the décor, pumping out classic and contemporary hip hop beats that added an undeniable energy to the atmosphere. Now, let's get to the main event: the food! My partner, a burger purist, dove into the Classic. I, on the other hand, opted for the intriguing fish tacos and fries. I snagged a bite of the burger, and it lived up to the hype. It was undeniably juicy, with a perfectly seasoned patty that earned a solid 3.5 out of 5 stars. The fish tacos were flavorful as well, boasting fresh ingredients. However, they did veer a bit on the oily side, which wasn't quite what I was craving. The fries, however, were a revelation! Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, they were seasoned to perfection and disappeared quickly. Despite the slight misstep with the oiliness of the tacos, the experience at Smokey Trotters gets a solid 8 out of 10. The atmosphere, fueled by the hip hop music and artwork, truly elevated the entire dining experience. While the burger may not have been a life-changing revelation, it was still a satisfying choice. Next time, I'll be sure to explore some of their other offerings, like the loaded fries or maybe even a chicken burger, all while soaking in the infectious energy of this hip hop haven.

Came across this food gem by accident and so glad we did. It was exactly what we were looking for. The service was great with polite and friendly staff. We had a Classic Burger, Drippy Burger, Posh fries (with truffle oil and parmesan) and mozzarella sticks. The food tasted amazing and the portions were of a good size as well. I felt I got good value as well and would definitely recommend seeking this eatery out if in Glasgow.

Scran is magic and the staff are lovely. The scheme poutine is a must try.

When we arrived, we were not given the menu - we had to request it, even though it was supposed to be table service. We waited at least 20 minutes for someone to take our order. The staff member acted dismissive. The food took almost an hour to arrive. I had a vegan burger with masala peas and fries with scampi. The burger tasted fine but was extremely dry (and the staff member seemed so bothered by our presence that I was afraid to ask for water). The fries only tasted like spicy sauce, all the interesting toppings got lost. The hot chocolate was the best of it all, but still overpriced for what it was. The food gave me a long nasty food poisoning that I can't explain with anything else. It was my second visit, and dismissive staff and unreasonably long waiting times have been a constant problem. Will not be back.

Chicken tenders, satay sauce, pepper sauce, chicken burger, scampi fries all excellent. Been a few times and will definitely be back. Staff all lovely and very welcoming. Good music and brilliant atmosphere👏

Really tasty chicken burger and beefburger. The Mac n cheese is epic, as is the curry sauce. Bit of a wait for food but acceptable for good fresh scran. If you love a bit of gansta rap you will enjoy the playlist.

Great food but that’s about it. The service was appalling. The waitress did not bother to tell us about the waiting time. It took an hour for the food to arrive, which was two burgers paired with chips… Very disappointing experience to say the least!

Fool me once. Over 1h waiting. No apology fron the staff and eventually have even been overcharged. Not a good experience

Food was good. Everyone enjoyed their choice. Service was a wee bit slow but they were having staff issue. Not a problem as we were in no rush and staff were very nice. Will be back.

Found this place by accident when my mum needed a bathroom. We sat down and the lovely young lady came over with menus. And gave us some excellent suggestions. The food was spectacular and the ambience of the place was very unique and fun. There were two ladies with a little baby sitting on the table next to us who we deduced either worked there or knew the owners and they were very lovely. Highly highly highly recommend. Was so good we weren’t able to get before photo 😂

Tried Smokey Trotters tonight for a takeaway. Fantastic service and the burger was awesome. A real beef patty, not a pre-formed or frozen burger. Got Malaysian loaded fries - which are a meal in themselves - that were superb. A complete 10/10. Looking forward to sitting in now!

EDIT* - Actually, no it wasn't made clear. I was told "Bookings from 7:30 onwards" otherwise common sense would prevail. This is exactly why I questioned upon arrival "Why are tables already reserved?" Look at your CCTV as I pointed to the table in question. I see that you always have something to say when reviewers are honest, with much of what you say more or less puts fault on your staff. You're either delusional or you truly believe in most of what you write here. I had to laugh at one of your rebuttals regarding prices. Look at your competitors who are similarly priced and offer chips with their burgers. You could try being less passive aggressive with your reviewers. In the interest of transparency; tipping is something I always make sure to do, but on this occasion I felt as though it wasn't warranted, which is somewhat rare as I try to see past the minor details in hospitality, but this wasn't my complaint. Also, If you review your CCTV you'll see just how close smokers' are to the tables and not at the end of the alley where customers arrive. From what I understand, this is a lot more frequent than you'd like to acknowledge. Having phoned prior to arrival I was under the impression that reservations prior to 7:30 were not possible and it was walk in only. When I turned up it was then clear that tables were reserved from 5pm onwards. Not well explained. Anyways, decided to sit outside and order food despite the weather. Not really a great overall experience given that people are seemingly allowed to chain smoke in the alley and so the smell was off-putting to say the least. Food was okay, and the staff were nice. You should probably enforce a no smoking policy given that it is a relatively small area outside. Patio heaters wouldn’t go a miss either. When we left it was virtually empty and so could’ve easily sat inside and left at the time of a scheduled reservation.

This is the 3rd time we have been, food is consistent and by that I mean it's amazing I've never had an issue with the food. The place is clean and tidy which is great, the staff are nice and friendly. However the biggest downfall is the service is slow very slow which is disappointing it's not a it's been cooked fresh slow either. It's not put me off or bringing friends In The 3 visits I've came, a bigger venue with more staff would help massively. Also personal preference but i don't like the buckfast bottles used for water I see the idea but don't agree sorry.

Dippin burger (curry sauce and salt and chilli chicken) was AMAZING, and the frickles were excellent! Really busy when we last went but still efficient service! We always go here for birthday meals out and are never disappointed!

Food was good but service was slow. We had to sit outside because there were no seats inside left which is fair but a couple of heaters wouldn't go a miss. It's under cover but freezing. Service was the biggest letdown.

Seen so much about this place but was left really disappointed wishing we had went somewhere else. Outside area could do with some heaters or warmer seats / blankets etc. If you are going wrap up the chairs are metal and freezing. Waited well over an hour for food and it wasn’t even that hot when served, nobody advised it would be such a wait as sitting outside we probably wouldn’t have waited that long had we known. Every table outside waited an exceptionally long time. Salt and chilli chicken was just battered chicken with mayo and spring onion , onion rings were from the freezer as were the chips. Service wasn’t great gave us menus and just said ‘here ye go’ and never asked if we wanted a drink, nobody asked us how food was or engaged in any conversation whatsoever, no water bowl offered for the dog, no further drinks offered when meal came an hour after we were served our cans, just simple things. £38 for 2 x chicken tenders, chips and onion rings and two lukewarm cans plus really slow substandard service. 2 stars for being dog friendly but sadly not the best experience for us. Partner said the burgers looked great when he went inside to pay think we obviously were unlucky but can’t say I’d rush back due to the service alone.

I visited on Friday 29.03.24 and got a seat right away.We all ordered the burger with the Pepper sauce and the sauce is one of the reasons I love the food here also got chicken and coleslaw as well both were good ,would have been 5 stars but the table was sticky and was a bit untidy and the service was slow .Nice wee surprise when we ordered water and it came out in a buckfast bottle deco is a bit weird but that my personal option i suppose.

Love Smokey Trotters. Took my dad for a birthday dinner, and it did not disappoint. The buffalo chicken burger is sublime, and the scheme poutine is so tasty! If you get the loaded fries or poutine, get them to share as its very filling. Love the decor and the old school hip hop tunes. Will be back!

Incredible food. Perfectly balanced flavours. Everything was class. Service also amazing. Only one wee tiny niggle - the place was a wee bit chilly when we visited. Having said that just order something spicy and you’ll soon warm up. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Fantastic hidden gem in the heart of Barras market! The food was incredible - we both had cheese toasties and agreed they were the best we’d ever had! The staff were super friendly and the decor and general atmosphere made us feel like we were in Mexico or Cuba! Loved it and will be back very soon!
