Smokey Boys Castleford England in Mid Devon

Popped in as passing and had lunch. Service was fab, food was really good. Best caesar salad I've had. Hubby had brisket. Both beautiful meals. Sticky toffee pudding for afters, also great.

The services was long the food was cold when it arrived and just average no wow factor for the cost. Steak was over done and not worth the price for what you get. Had a flag for more drinks which were order before food but came after we had eaten

Really poor. Took 15 minutes before someone could take our order, after taking our order it took a further 35 minutes to get 2 milkshakes - which we ordered a kinder bueno and it was just vanilla with a slab of bueno shoved in the middle. Food was ok but not as described, smokey peri peri chicken burger was bland, just a grilled chicken, halloumi looked and tasted uncooked and cold and the lettuce was brown. 12.5% service charge added was a joke, not sure if they were understaffed but there was only a handful of tables in.

Went for a meal ot with family and regretting the choice of restaurant. Overpriced food, cheeky 12,5% service charge. The chips -way too greasy, cooked in old oil...Burgers- way too small, overdated veg in burger and salad, Impossible to drink cocktails. Avoid the place, save money.

Over priced and not that great and then had the cheek to add 12.5% on for "service" that completely gets my goat. The burgers were quite small. Guessing a quarted pounder like 115g
