A great night out with family and friends, never heard of this place but OMG what a place. The food is just unreal cooked to perfection on all dishes served. The outstanding ox cheeks and chicken wings as starters along with peppers. Mains were pulled pork and beef buns, the beef was my favourite. The meat platter was out of this world juiciness in the mouth, brisket, beef rib, pork belly and pulled pork simply fantastic. Chips with skins on, kale and an aubergine side. How we managed desert: plum pudding, ice cream and caramel pudding I don’t know. The staff and manager are super attentive, layed back and eager to please. Highly recommend look forward to coming back ….

This Michelin-listed restaurant had been on our friend Jim’s bucket list and in the days running up to and throughout the afternoon he continued to suggest it until we finally relented and let him book a table for us. The menu offered up some mouthwatering dishes but it was their famous brisket that was at the forefront of Jim’s mind. We ordered some other meals too - nine meals, no less! Food was served up and devoured by the hungry carnivores. Meaty food and cracking service by the staff.

Was very disappointed with the food no flavour to what I had no staff had come up to use to mention about a birthday when we left got a text saying sorry they forgot about the birthday I thought this was poor

Dark interior, exposed concrete and black, lots of black. we sat at a table towards the rear of the restaurant, the tables had a nice wood grain with some type of salt filling the holes. the chairs were very low in comparison to the height of the table yet thankfully I think I might have been the only diner at the table to notice. The fries arrived with a bucket of aioli which was somewhat of an overkill, I mean I'm all for restaurants being generous with their sauce but at the end of the meal we hadn't even manged to get through half of it. The beef sausage had a great depth of flavour with lots of garlic and spice but unfortunately it was dry, very dry. Not even the accompanying sauce could save it . The brisket was ok, nothing particularly memorable flavour wise, there was a nice looking smoke ring so it was a shame the flavour wasn't quite there. I found the pepper crust to be overpowering. The pork belly looked had a nice soft texture and the flavours were good. There was some rich sweetness that really helped elevate the dish. All in all it felt like a rather lacklustre barbeque experience and whilst it would be unfair to compare to some of the best bbq places I've visited in the US I would still expect a little more authenticity from a contemporary London based operation

This place is a meat lover’s paradise! The industrial, rustic vibe sets the perfect tone for their smoky, flavorful barbecue dishes. The star of the menu has to be the brisket (Bun), which is melt-in-your-mouth tender and packed with rich, smoky goodness. The sides, like the crispy potatoes and wings, complement the meats perfectly. And did I tell you they also serve wood roasted bone marrow? The atmosphere is relaxed, and the staff are friendly and attentive (I hope I get their name right; Sasha was amazing) . Whether you're dining in or grabbing a quick bite, this place offers an unforgettable BBQ experience in the heart of Shoreditch. P.s Don't forgot about the dessert

I've been wanting to come here for a while and I finally did with some friends. We were sat downstairs, the menu for food and drinks is very good, plenty of good options, the bone marrow is very rich in flavour so you would definitely want to share that with at least 2 people if not 3. The rest of the menu items could either be shared or to yourself. The chips, grilled greens, coleslaw all tasted great as well I would definitely recommend sides, my favourite if i was to order just for myself, would be the chicken wings to start, the beef ribs with grilled greens and chips for main, and the chili cocktail. We tried a wide range of stuff and it was all tasty. Very filling though when you are sharing a lot of heavy meaty food. Cannot wait to return here and try the bits we didn't get a chance to try! I'd recommend this place to anyone, as its birthday and special occasion friendly too, people dress smart and casual, the place can suit any situation or group size! Staff are brilliant here too, very friendly.

This place is great! We discovered it a few months ago and we came back for its exceptional pulled pork bun. However , there was definitely a plus today and its name was Isabel. It's always wonderful being served by people who care about you! We'll be back for sure. Hopefully Isabel will be there too!🥰

We're big fans of Texas BBQ and whenever we're in the US, we seek it out. Of course, it's slightly harder to find it over on these shores which is why I'm super excited to have found Smokestak. Firstly, the brisket is amazing. Juicy, with that classic "ooze" you see on every backyard BBQ YouTube video. Portion sizing is pretty decent for the UK too. Solid smoke ring and for sure you know the team are doing everything in house. Then the sausage, the ribs, the bone marrow. All fantastic and as I write this review, am planning my next visit. I'm also somewhat embarrassed to say that the raw broccoli side is almost the star of the show...hot daym, that was one of the tastiest accompaniments we've ever had. Oh and a shoutout to Eduardo who supplied excellent service and was just a gentleman throughout the evening.

Really glad I came here. I am autistic and have very specific food preferences but came here as friends wanted to. I’ve always been anxious about explaining this to staff to be able to get a meal I can actually eat, but Valentina was amazing. She was so kind and thoughtful, asked all the right questions and was just great. Service was fantastic and so was the food. Valentina really made a difference to my time here and completely eradicated my anxiety surrounding the food. Forever grateful for her service. Give this girl a raise!

Lunch for 3 at Smokestak in Shoreditch. My 3rd or 4th visit and this place is Swiss watch reliable! Our order- 3 cocktails (a couple of Rum Punch and an Elderflower mint spritz), starters of the bone marrow and crispy ox cheek nuggets. Mains of the sausage, pulled pork bun, brisket and charred pork belly rib. For sides we went with the fries w/ aioli and charred greens. We then shared a sticky toffee pudding for dessert. The food is simply faultless. I wasn’t crazy for the charred greens but everything else we ordered was excellent. Super highly recommended! Our total bill for 3 was just under £145.

Would give 3.5 star as was a bit disappointed in the food, it's not as amazing as expected, it's not bad but just got high expectations after reading so many good things about it. We had the beef rib, chicken wings, beef fat sausage, pastrami and chips, all were mediocre, nothing really stood out. The service and atmosphere were excellent. However, food is the most important thing to me when it comes to restaurant ratings.

Only dropped a star because we were downstairs and it didn't have the same ambience as being by the kitchen. Seemed a bit like a bolt on. Everything else was superb. Great food and cocktails. Particularly the brisket and the blackcurrant negroni 🔥

Food is always amazing, one of v few places where I can't decide if meat or veg dishes are best. Staff v efficient and friendly. Place always has a good buzz but perhaps music a little too loud for Sat afternoon.

The best BBQ I've ever had. Smoked brisket and pork belly was incredible.

We went to two different bbq places and this one was by far the best !! We loved everything that was served and we are picky when it comes to bbq. The brisket was tender and melted in our mouths. The sauces were excellent. The pulled pork was perfectly cooked and the aubergine was a very nice discovery. We will go back again !

Incredible food, really good atmosphere and good service despite a busy restsurant

My husband and I love smokestak! We have been customers since it opened in 2016. It keeps getting better every time we come here. Food and drinks, everything is just so good. When we have friends and family visiting, our choice is always to take them here. Caring staff and great service! My personal favorites are pig tails, ox cheek, beef brisket (of course), charred greens (not available anymore though), newly discovered broccoli. Favorite drink is always Rhubarb Sour! Recommend with all my stomach ☺️

Don’t believe the hype. Overpriced Shoreditch bollocks catering to the pseudo trendies, wannnabes, and usual London knobs. Flat beer, chemical tasting smokeyness across signature dishes like the brisket bun and mediocre service at best. Go to Walthamstow, Ilford or Barking for cheaper more authentic bbq. Avoid

The food is a complete rip off. Beef brisket is £18 for two small slices and nothing else - the food was tasty but way over priced. I'd recommend finding somewhere with a bit more value. The service and atmosphere is fine.

Food was good, though, portions are on the small side and service felt rushed. At this price a number of things should be a better.

This was hands down some of the best food I ate while in London! (Unfortunately forgot to take photos) after being let down many times by multiple food places, this place did not disappoint!! We will definitely be going back.

Carnivore heaven - plenty of flavours and mixed oriental/brazilian vibes with the food styles, very tapas like size dishes, good for ordering a plate each but sticking in the middle and sharing all together. This place has a very minimal aesthetic so the focus is really the food. Only a 3 minute walk from BoxPark.

The food and atmosphere at Smokestak is wonderful. However, I have repeatedly found unauthorised small charges being added to final bills, including charity donations which were not mentioned nor highlighted until the bill was paid, amongst other items. I really do enjoy the food at Smokestak and find that it is a convenient place to bring guests, however, such unauthorised charges hidden away until after payment is very off-putting and diminishes the trust I have in the restaurant team.

The atmosphere is laid-back, perfect for a casual meal with friends. Don’t forget to try their homemade sauces—they really make the dishes pop!

Honestly the best smoked meat we have ever had, everything was insane but especially the ox cheek croquettes & beef rib. Everything melted in your mouth. We would come back to London just for this restaurant (we live in Lincolnshire) we’re already dreaming about another visit! Fries did seem that they were overcooked/recooked but we were there for the meat not the fries We were in and out within 40 mins Beware of an automatic service charge I think it was 12% which does seem steep but we just paid it.

Been here several times before I was diagnosed coeliac and after. The food has always been incredible and the staff great but coming back as a coeliac and being looked after with separate dishes and plates is a rarity and really cemented why it’s one of my favourite spots in the city. Thank you!

We had a great visit for a birthday lunch! The food was fantastic and the staff were incredibly attentive. The beef brisket was the best we’ve had in London. So glad we thought to order the whole brisket to share. One of our party is coeliac and so has dietary restrictions. The online menu has a great dietary restrictions feature which allows you to easily see what you can and can’t eat as well as what can be modified. The chef continually reminded the staff of the restriction and what dishes could be enjoyed by him.This level of focus and care gave me a great deal of confidence in how the rest of the kitchen paid attention to these details. Brilliant service with a warm welcome. We were looking forward to the brisket which was stunning - happily everything else we ordered was too. Relaxed ambiance and dog friendly.

Delicious but not much. The oxtail cheeks, pulled pork and briskets are a must buy. If you like a sausage, I found the beef and pork sausage flavourless ans hugely disappointing. As a slightly bigger person, the seats 'outside' arent the best, hopefully the indoor ones are better.

I came with high expectations for this smoked BBQ, but unfortunately, I left feeling disappointed. We ordered the pork belly, brisket, lettuce gem, ox cheek, bone marrow, and broccoli. **Pork Belly:** Insanely salty and overly sauced. The BBQ sauce completely overwhelmed any smoky flavor; it felt like the pork had been soaked in sauce, leaving nothing but texture. **Brisket:** Average at best. It wasn’t particularly juicy or chewy—just ordinary. **Lettuce Gem:** Again, far too much sauce. The heavy application of sour cream and a pesto-like dressing made it feel like a Caesar salad drowned in dressing. **Ox Cheek & Broccoli:** Both were standard, nothing remarkable. **Bone Marrow:** Also normal, but we were given only two small slices of sourdough bread. The bone marrow was rich, almost like a pure butter spread. It’s hard to enjoy when you can’t balance it with the bread. Like 20g of bread with 20g of butter. I just can’t. After mentioning my concerns to a staff member, they graciously waived the charges for the lettuce and pork belly, which I appreciated. Coming from Hong Kong, where we have a rich experience with Asian cuisine, we also enjoy Western food like Spanish and Italian. However, the excessive saltiness and sauces here were quite disappointing.

What a place! Lovely vibe, super amazing friendly service. I mean the service was amazing. So attentive, just making sure we have enough drink and food, not smothering but friendly . One of my colleagues asked for chicken sauce with the mains, sure no problem and then it appeared!! We had starters: chicken chicken wings, cured beef, yum, marrow bone (never tried and was yum!) , beetroot, yum again, slaw, peppers, then follows by burger, pork, brisket, broccoli and slaw again! Sticky toffee pudding with a hint of treacle with a vanilla ice cream. Do visit. Will be back. No meat sweats because I was good!!

Food was nice but nothing amazing, our sides were burnt, the chips were basic but all the meat we had were great. sticky toffee was excellent .We tried 3 red wines and they weren’t great stuck with the beer ( which was good. We loved our waiter and the atmosphere what nice. It was a mixed bag really.

Awful food. Would not recommend this place. No one came to explain the menu. We ordered a sausage and chips which came with garlic mayo place on the chips. Therefore if you did not like the sauce you were screwed. NEVER AGAIN. Which I had gone to the market instead.

Zeer druk bezocht BBQ restaurant waarbij je om teleurstelling te willen voorkomen vooraf wel dient te reserveren. Vooraf online de menukaart even bekijken , wanneer je sharing menu wil bestellen dan heb je ivm de hoeveelheid een grotere tafel nodig. Brisket was top met een pittige bark en prima rooksmaak en goed gaar. Pastrami was zeer mals, machtige smaak en het waren best dikke plakken. 30-day beef-rib was sappig met een stevige bark, goede rooksmaak en helemaal zoals ik hem graag proef. Wood roasted bone marrow sourdough is een klassieker waarvan je moet houden, beetje pittig en als je het nog nooit hebt gegeten dan gewoon een keer bestellen. De muziek welke aanstond was helaas niet ons ding, het geluid stond wat ons betreft veels te hard waaraan wij en ons best irriteerden. Personeel was vriendelijk en werkte hard en snel

Just amazing food and service from Eric and others. The brisket was just incredible. Also had 3 pints of the house lager that was also very good! Brilliant BBQ food at this popular spot in Shoreditch. All of our food from seared beef to a ox cheek croquette to the pork belly, brisket and rib main event was just exceptional. The service too was friendly and welcoming, and at such a busy place, that was nice to see. Definitely the best BBQ we've had in London, and for the quality of what you get, good value.

6 out of 5 Simply unique. People know exactly what they are doing. The porkbelly ribs are the best ribs I've ever eaten (and yes, I've tried a few in both Hamburg and Berlin). An absolute must-do is the beetroot with goat cheese and hazelnuts - don't you like beetroot? Yes, I didn't like it before either. 5 years later: No more burnt peach, no more beetroot, but: Still one of the best restaurants in London! Best Drink: Burned Peach Old Fashioned. Price performance is just right here. Everything is rounded off by the harmonious interior.

I was very pleased to find out that this restaurant lives up to its reputation and hype that I've seen in so many reviews. Their menu is fantastic with lots of tasty options and their ribs were heavenly. One of the best steakhouses in London by far. The staff was also great and very friendly.

Your staff are amazing, interesting concept, and good quality food! The aubergine dish is amazing <3 but I beg you! Don't sell gochujang chicken when you don't use gochujang. Ketchup or caramel sauce is not a replacement.

A nice trendy venue serving finger licking BBQ food. The restaurant has a casual industrial vibe which is great for a meal out or to hang out with friends. Its wood roasted bone marrow with sourdough is very moorish. Crispy ox cheek is cheekily delectable. All the other meats were delicious. We were not disappointed at all. Also waiters were particularly friendly & attentive. It made the whole experience so much more enjoyable.

I think I went to meat heaven tonight

Really good food highly recommend the ox cheeks and brisket. They'd had a power cut and the fryer was down however the team quickly worked to resolve this and we didn't go without anything we wanted and was notified as soon as we could order. Really enjoyable dinner and had a lovely waitress didn't catch her name but she had coloured hair and glasses. She had a laugh with us and made the dining experience even nicer. Just wish the tables weren't so packed in but this still didn't take away from the experience and would definitely visit again!

Dont get me wrong, the food is good. But not awesome. The beef brisket was a bit dry and the pork was under flavored. The croquettes we amazing and the pork belly had amazing flavor

Great selection of food cooked to perfection. We weren’t explained anything about the restaurant and didn’t understand it was small sharing plates so ended up not eating much. However the other food on the menu (the wings) looked so good we’ve decided to Go back and give them a try

Things I liked: 1) Great ingredients 2) Very well smoked results, great techniques used. 3) Great flavours. The food is worth trying. 4) Good atmosphere Things i didn't like: 1) Typical hipster design for BBQ Smoke house. 2) They are suggesting sharing concept like every other new place in London. 3) Mains portion is ok if you have a starter but for the price I would expect one side and not having to pay additional £6 per side. I mean chips, come on, £6 for chips....or a miniature fennel salad?! 4) Starter £9 for one sausage. Description makes you think is super dupper but in reality is linguica Toscana (go to your local brasilian butcher) 5) Plastic plates 6) Adding £1 to the bill for food charity without being given advanced notice 7) 12.5% added on the bill not as separate line but in the bill as service charge (discretionary). Bringing the bill and coming with the card machine kind of not giving you a chance to look through your bill. We are becoming like America. Waiter was friendly and attentive but i dont see how this automatically translates to 12.5% above my bill. I usually tip with what I have (not what i feel the sever deserved like the USA.) At the end of the day they are doing their job. Imagine you were getting 12.5% extra everytime you did what you were meant to do at your job. Please keep this line separate as you put people on the spot.

The food was amazing ! Different smoke tastes throughout the whole meal. I had the brisket was really tender plus the sticky toffee pudding was outrageous. Will go again!!! I knocked off one star because there was just a bit too much rock salt across the meats. Ease up on that and it’s beyond perfect

The food here is ridiculous. I bbq and smoke and my friends all say my cooking is amazing but I don’t know how this place gets their food like they do. Softest best tasting brisket I’ve ever had and the wings were not only amazing but super crispy as well. Drinks were lovely including the pickle juice whiskey . My recommendation is the spicy margarita . Can’t wait to go back again. Only criticism is the seating was cramped and it was too hot inside .
