Cafe 1001 in Tower Hamlets

Went here last night and had some drinks in the upstairs bar. Great chilled out space, good cocktails and really nice, polite staff. Would definitely go again.

What a good find. English breakfast can be very hit and miss and often overpriced. Given the location this was good value and very tasty ingredients served in a modern setting. Ni e music, a good overall vibe.

Cafe1001's team members are so nice and polite, and the atmosphere is fantastic. 5 stars more than deserved :)

Popped in to avoid the rain and ended up having a delicious 😋 breakfast and yummy cuppa. Very friendly staff, with a sense of humour. Looking forward to my next visit... Might buy the T-shirt 👕!!!

We had made a reservation here for breakfast (which wouldn't have been necessary) and had a lovely morning. The food was delicious and typically English. The shop is housed in an old factory with high ceilings and is in the middle of Brick Lane. The shop is wheelchair accessible, at least downstairs.

tasty drink, knowledgeable bar manager which was awesome!! BUT i was charged service at the bar for a cocktail - menu price 13.50, ended up more than £15+. weird, never been charged service at a walk-up bar. i don’t think this is reasonable if i’m not getting table service. am on a budget so made me a bit sad - not sure i will return as £15+ cocktails are a bit much :(

Nice hybrid place, DJ up top, cafe quiet vibe downstairs. Lots of people working/studying there but also there to hang out with friends. Orange juice was banging

Friendly fast service, nice coffee. Had a brioche bun stuffed with sausages, bacon, fried egg, hash browns, and I was quite stuffed after that!

Went earlier in the day had a great coffee. Lovely people downstairs. Came back later for cocktails, bartender, was rude went to grab a menu, passive aggressive. Made us feel uncomfortable, so we left.

It's a cool place, so the atmosphere almost made up for the slow service and lukewarm coffees, but I can't give it 5 stars unfortunately.

Place is clean and spacious. Perfect for chilling alone or with friends over cups of coffee. Toilet is spacious, clean and well maintained which is crucial to me as I have IBS. Haven’t tried the food so can’t say much about that. Coffee is decent and so as the beer selection.

Came around here for a drink with friends after a exploring the surrounding neighbourhoods. We we`re with a group of 4 and we`re told that you had to do all orders via the website that was reachable when scanning the QR code that was on the table. We we`re about to order when a waiter was coming over and said he could take our drinksorder. We thought okay thats fine but we we`re told it could only be done via website when we got a table. We got our drinks and that was fine. However ordering food is a different story. The website is unclear and you have to make sure that you select the pizzaplace and not the bar which is not making any sens. Keeping things simple instead. Some orders we`re wrong and people around us got the wrong things serverd. To us it is a combination of the confusing website to order from and staff that are getting confused all together. The waiter that served our drinks dissapeared before we left and the drinks we`re nowhere to be on found on another bill. The place itself however is really nice and we hope things will improve.

Nice food made to order and served by friendly ladies who were very welcoming. We will go again soon.

I ordered a cocktail at the bar - no price written anywhere and the bartender had the audacity to charge me £1.5 of service charge (£13 for a mid cocktail in a pub standing 15 mins to order it) - my contactless tapped before I could say no to the service charge and they refused to give me the service charge back. The male bartender then said “this is how it is done here, it’s compulsory” - it’s not compulsory, that is just a rip off as my friends did not get the service charge (which is optional anyways in the UK). Then he continued to have an attitude. This was the night of Saturday 16th of December at 9pm, I attached a pic of the bartender.

Very rude staff so expensive not like before avoid it ! Not worth the money ! Most expensive glass of wine ever not even cold and as I mentioned the guy was so rude !!

I always love visiting Cafe 1001 when I come to Brick Lane. It's busy and lively selling nice quality food, delicious coffee and alcohol throughout the day. Service at the bar is fast and efficient but table service takes a bit longer. Great place to meet friends or for a first date.

A busy Sunday and the weather was very very cold, however the door stayed open and I had to keep my coat on for the whole meal. We had the 12” breakfast which was average at best. The toast was cold and the beans luke warm. We had flat whites which, while strong and tasty, were, again, luke warm. The barista needs to heat the milk more and the chef needs to leave the toast in the toaster longer. The waiters didn’t seem to know their table numbers and food was carried around a lot and offered to the wrong tables several times while we were there. Overall an average experience and only slightly better than your local greasy spoon. I didn’t feel the experience warranted a service charge (15%) and asked for this to be removed. The waitress got very huffy. Won’t be back I’m afraid.

This place is so awesome! The food is very tasty and the coffee aswell. You can sit in a cozy booth or chill on couches. But a seating at a table is possible also. And we really enjoyed the jazzy/lounch music. Last but not least; the service is really nice. They are very well organized and welcoming!

Decent spot for a bite to eat. The croissant sandwich was lovely and service was friendly. Has a modern feel which lacked atmosphere but it was busy for a Sunday. Not bad value for money either.

Lovely food & chilled vibe, but slow & somewhat frosty service...waited at a table for 15 minutes and in that time a table of 4 next to me had ordered & received their food, but I still hadn't ordered 🤷‍♂️ When I went to the counter to have my order taken I got a kind of "OK", no apology...it's all about service, no matter how good your food is! 🤷‍♂️

Tagsüber Café abends Club. Getränke nicht preiswert und stark gemischt. Eins zwei Cocktails reichen und man wacht morgens mit Kopfschmerzen auf. Das Klientel ist sehr jung und es spielt ein DJ live Musik. Musik war richtig gut, hat mir gefallen.

Great spot for brunch. Best bacon I’ve had in London in a while. Highly recommended. Get in early because it gets really busy on weekends. Cocktails and beer selection is excellent too.

Cafe 1001 is a fantastic spot for a coffee or beer in between shopping and sightseeing. They also have a nice variety of pastries and fizzy drinks. There's also plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. 👍

Food was good, service was comically bad. One of our meals was not put through, which we didn't mind as mistakes happen, but when we chased it up, they didn't even want to know and seemed to question why we had come to ask them to check on the order. Drinks came out after food, the server told one of us to pass one of the drinks to the end of the table, then immediately said 'or not' sarcastically when we didn't pass the drink down straight away. It was actually quite funny how weirdly rude it was, we all just had to laugh about it. One of the waitresses was very nice however and apologised for the service we received, which was appreciated.

Very good, excellent breakfast. Sourdough bread was lovely.

We sat outside, order was quickly provided, both breakfasts were full of flavour and wholesome. Tea was nice and atmosphere was great. A bit of a tourist trap (naturally given location) but a great brunch/breakfast nonetheless

Il Cafe 1001 è una sosta obbligatoria per chi si ritrova a girovagare per i negozi e le vie di Brick Lane. Le larghe vetrate fanno subito intravedere un locale elegante e ricercato, dallo stile retrò, che si affaccia su uno spazioso cortile esterno. Buono il caffè e consigliata la formula del brunch, con un’originale selezione di dischi per accompagnare colazioni, pause pranzo o aperitivi. Più che consigliato!

Ich war hier um 10 Uhr frühstücken. Die Bedienung war super unfreundlich, der Toast nur halb getoastet und die poached Eggs einfach draufgeklatscht. Von der geheimen Sauce war nichts zu sehen oder schmecken. Jemand anderes hat Brunch Bap ohne Wurst bestellt, aber mit Wurst bekommen. Der Kaffee war für eine Siebträger auch nicht das Wahre und es wurde Kakaopulver darüber gestreut. Die Einrichtung, die Location und die Sitzmöglichkeiten sind ganz nett, aber das Geld ist es nicht wert.

Absolutely love this place! You can grab a pizza from next door and their drinks are decent. Not bad prices either! It doesn't feel corporate or like a chain and has a unique vibe!

I walked in with my friend and we noticed they had the sign up “ 2 aperol spritz for £14£ from 11am to 4pm” . We noticed it was 4 min past 4pm and we kindly asked if we were still on time for the last one since the sign was still out. We didn’t expect to benefit of the offer but the way the lady at the bar ( long dark hair) dealt with it was appalling . She looked at us and abruptly she said NO! and proceeded to take the sign away from us. Pointless to say this is bad customer service . She was unpolite and unprofessional. On top of it she didn’t even give us a strow for our drinks !

Been coming here over a decade. It really upset me that while I’m not perfect, I try to do my best by the planet. My coffee wasn’t quite hot enough for my preference and so I asked they steam it warm. Instead they threw the whole coffee away and started again!?? - so wasteful! The coffee is imported the coconut milk has packaging that cannot be totally recycled etc… plus the fossil fuels to process the drink etc… come on. It’s 2023

Ultra cool space, Hi Fi retro music themed bar. Right in the heart of Brick Lane. Always lively and full of a trendy crowd of beautiful people all enjoying their drinks. Weekends is when this place is banging and we'll worth a visit if your in the area.

브릭레인에 갔다 들른 카페인데 커피는 산미가 있는 커피더군요. 매장 분위기는 좋아요.

The all day breakfast is amazing. Staff are friendly. Not the cheapest place. The speakers are amazing but often it's a little too loud in there which can be off putting when getting food. The toilets are horrible but suffer from non customers using them.

A cosy and friendly place to chill and have a drink or a brunch in Bricklane

In the Heart of Brick Lane. One of my favourite spot in London. Live music, hardcore techno on sunday, amazing staff and lovely people! Located on two floor (ground and first) this great disco/pub will surprise you! If you're curious to witness what is concealed behind those big doors on the first floor, you should go there on a sunday afternoon. "And you'll see how deep the rabbit hole goes" The sofas are comfy and disposed in an harmonic way to help the customers gathering around easily. DJ sets during the weekend are gonna be ready to entertain you while you can drink a tap beer or chose of their cocktails.

We waited for a whole hour for our breakfast to arrive. It’s a bit pricey for rather small portions. The food was decent though

Not bad. A bit expensive. Very trendy and some of the staff are quite friendly. We asked what the sauce was that accompanied one of our meals and the waitress didn't know. She went to ask the chef, but apparently he didn't know either which is slightly worrying.

It was one of the best experiences in London. Their coffee was one of the best I've tried, a real cappuccino. I'm still thinking about the sandwiches. The service was excellent. Amazing! Well done!!!

Gorgeous and spacious cafe with a quirky atmosphere and nice music. I wanted to leave a review to mention the lady with the ponytail at the till who is always smiley, really polite and kind. Every time I am in she always has a genuine and warm smile. I come here to grab a coffee between jobs and it makes my day. 💖The delicious coffee is a plus ☕️✨

Thought it was a good vibe with nice people until it wasn't. Couldn't use the downstairs toilet because someone was in there for ages and when I tried to go upstairs I was denied entry because there was some paid event... Disappointed.

The Brunch Bap was amazing! Halloumi, “No avo smash”, spinach and sausage. The no avo smash didn’t taste like avocado but it was delicious. The coffee was also really good.
