Absolutely amazing food, the ribs in particular were some of the best I have ever tried and really reasonably priced. The service was amazing and the ambience in the restaurant was perfect, definitely recommend!

Myself, husband and daughter had a wonderful meal here this evening even the dessert was made fresh the best home made bakewell tart I've ever had. Great place to eat

Absolutely delicious and great value food. Top quality fresh food from an independent restaurant (makes a change from all the chain ones in town). Best ginger sesame chicken wings and saucy ribs in town! So happy it's reopened and as delicious as ever. Portions really good! Attentive and welcoming staff. Cannot wait for the fresh pizzas to be served again! A must visit if you are in Chelmsford.

Dreadful. Got a takeaway from here the steak burger was so fatty and full of coleslaw that it made the bun really soggy and mushy. I must have only had 2 bites and then threw it away it was horrible. Also the 20% discount was not applied upon collection like they said it would be. I won't be coming back.

What a hidden gem, drove passed many times and for whatever reason never been in, saw a discount voucher in a local magazine and decided to give it a go, wow - superb food, great friendly relaxed service, will be back again very soon - keep up the good work

The food is of a great quality, the service is good and the atmosphere is chilled. Great little business, quirky, stylish with clever branding.

Very tasty food! Went last minute with eat out to help out and managed to get in with no booking. Recommend the pulled pork, ribs and Oreo cheesecake. The portions are generous; we asked the staff to box up the rest to take home and they were very happy to do so. At the end of the meal we were given a discount voucher for our next visit.

Went here for first time on Tuesday, firstly no paper menus, no social distance between tables. Food took 45 mins to come then both half chicken raw and cold, sent back and came back still raw. Not offered another drink either. Waiter tried to tell me chicken temp for ok before being sent out, I’m a chef and no way was it. He then agreed and took of the bill. Seriously would never go here again.

Went there last night with my friends - great starters with seafood, meat and cheese. Amazing mains (we had burgers and steaks - the rare ribeye was fantastic), lovely service and good selections of digestives. Definitely going to try desserts as well next time! Well done guys!

Picked up a takeaway as had people over, very impressed. Happy to let us have items from main menu, the sea bass was great. Burgers very good also. Will definitely try Smoke in Shed again

First time ordering from just eat they and they cancelled the order and my card was still charged! Have to wait 3-5 days for it to return.. If your not accepting orders don't say your open on just eat!

Delicious authentic Italian style pizza and with 40% discount for collection cannot go wrong, 100% recommend and we are fussy about pizza

Just collected two burger meals as a takeaway (due to lockdown) and it was superb! Even though it was a takeaway they did not skimp on the flavour and the portions. Can't wait to return when open to try the rest of the menu.

Nice space that's has been well designed to fit. Starters were scallops, overcooked and not worth the £7.50 for 3, fried chicken wings were very dry and clearly cooked from frozen. Mains was a smoke burger and pulled pork. BLAND. I was expecting this to be similar the big easy in London which is great. Would not visit here again.

Went here for my 40th birthday, service was great, food came in good time and all together for a table of 15, and the food was absolutely lovely! Had a rack of lamb lovely and tender with nice fresh veg and potatoes. Definetely recommended!

I've been coming to Smoke in Shed for quite a few weeks now. And honestly I KEEP COMING BACK!!! The food is exceptional ( and I love it grilled and healthy), the staff is beyond professional and friendly. I recommend 100%❤️. My new favourite place to be

Wow this place is off the scale amazing. I visited on a Tuesday night and it was quiet (maybe there were a couple of tables occupied). Service was quick from a friendly and happy waitress. Can't wait to go back tomorrow again!

Had a lovely meal at Smoke in Shed just before Christmas. I had the goats cheese salad to start, burger with a side of sweet potato fries for main, and creme brûlée for dessert. I enjoyed all three courses, especially the salad to start. All staff were very friendly, and the waiting time for food was very reasonable. Enough time to let the previous course go down. I’d recommend giving the place a try.

Second time visiting and loved it both times. Great food, good pricing and nice atmosphere. Highly recommend.

I rang and booked a table for dinner on Sunday night at 7pm, to celebrate my boyfriends birthday, and when we turned up it was shut!!! Very disappointed, especially when they took my phone number and didn't bother to contact me. Won't try again or recommend!

Not a review of food (as we didn’t get to try it). Table was booked for 1900 on Sunday 12th January. Turned up to find the place in darkness. Not a good start for a new restaurant especially as they didn’t have the decency to even let us know. Google state it shuts at 2200 on a Sunday (if this isn’t the case, don’t take the booking) I feel the staff need to go back to school and re learn time telling. Was looking forward to trying here. Unfortunately won’t be trying to return now.

Amazing place to eat. The owner is friendly and warm, the food is fresh, hearty, beautifully presented, the portions generous and price is SO reasonable! Nice selection of drinks to accompany. Could not fault a single aspect of our visit. Can't wait to go again, it's going to be dangerous for my waistline that I live so close by!

McCartney had their Christmas Lunch at The Smoke in Shed today, the service was excellent, food was superb, everything lovely and fresh and all food including steaks were cooked to perfection, we will certainly return. We all highly recommend The Smoke in Shed for lunch time or an evening meal.
