Smoke Yard in Oldham

The food was relatively good when we got it all, as the chef forgot 2 parts of the meal. Was only when we brought it to the waitress attention that we were missing parts of our meal that they realised and then we had to wait for it to be cooked while we were eating...no apology, just a ' oh I'll go sort it.' Felt like it was being run by very unprofessional young kids, swearing, joking about and on there phones in the kitchen you can clearly hear and see all this Tables were really sticky which wasn't nice Was a shame as we were looking forward to it but was not impressedat all.

You know, its not bad at all, you get plenty of food but atomphere does lack! Need music of some sort for the evening to bring that vibe . Xx would go back

A few people had recommended us to go here, so we tried it and let me say I am so glad we tried something new. I got the buffalo chicken on waffles and my partner got the chicken hanger, the chicken on both was perfectly cooked and seasoned, it was super juicy and the seasoning wasn’t too over powering but still really really tasty, to me the food we got here is better than most restaurants or takeaways. I also got a cocktail and that was sweet but still was a nice strong drink. The staff here are really nice and welcoming, I would 100% recommend to anyone to go and try here, you won’t be disappointed!

Absolute shambles 2nd time here and will be the last thought we would give it a second chance but really wish we hadn’t bothered the Mac and cheese balls where dry and bland my husband had the pulled pork on brioche bun it was mainly burnt ends of pork very dry and not what we expected I had the tower burger hash browns were cold chicken was dry and overcooked smash burger was not a burger it was slightly bigger than a 50 pence piece and also cold I had a side of cheesy bacon fries and they were terrible the cheese sauce was more Like mash potato and the bacon was burnt and rock hard the only decent thing was the drinks and friendly waiting on staff but for £65 for two it was diabolical will not be returning and I suggest you eat elsewhere x

Probably the worst place I’ve ever been! The food is savagely overpriced! Typical place for drug dealers or an idiot hoping to impress a first date! Kitchen staff dancing around like little kids! Infact the kitchen staff was little kids haha really unprofessional!

Took my 18yr old Grand son. Table was really sticky had to remind myself not to lean on it. Steak and onion rings was not bad but corn was well under cooked and stone cold. Fries were nothing special. All overpriced for experience. Will not return.

went for mother’s day with daughter and granddaughters for afternoon tea,it was lovely we got lots food and cakes served in a concertina box everything was so nice staff were pleasant nothing was too much for them definitely recommend will be going again 🥰

Had a fabulous afternoon tea and prosecco here as an early Mothers Day gift from my daughter. From entering to leaving we were really well looked after. The food was delicious and plentiful, cocktails were fabulous and the staff were so friendly. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be going again. I booked Afternoon for myself and my Mum as an early Mothers Day Treat. The food selection was amazing, so much choice and all cooked to perfection. We also tried a few of the cocktails, the pornstar Martini was the nicest ive had and my Mum was really impressed with the 'situationship' cocktail. The staff were fantastic, Ella, Mike and Jordan made sure we had everything we needed and the service we received was fantastic, they are all so friendly and made us feel so welcome. We will definitely be back :)

Booked a table for me and my colleagues to have food and cocktails. Had the choice of some amazing food and cocktails as well as a nice atmosphere. Ella was such an amazing server and really looked after our needs all evening and was easy to have a laugh with and offered to make cocktails on request! Couldn’t have asked for a better waitress. Really made the evening 😊

Visited this restaurant this weekend with a group of 12. The food arrived eratically the waiter's and manager's are amazing, but the kitchen is appaulling really; let's the restaurant down. I had to send cold chicken back, and all the orders were wrong and missing sauces .. it was that bad; the manager gave us a 10% discount.. We been here in the past won't go again chef needs replacing with his staff !!

I’ve been in some of the biggest busiest restaurants and never waited 1 hour 13 mins for food. We noticed they served food upstairs first and then downstairs, Causing my fiancé to nearly walk out 50 minutes had passed we asked the waitress and she said 10 Minutes but we was sat waiting still by this point we got ready to just pay for the drinks and just leave. the food finally arrived a couple walked out and said waiting 50 mins plus for food never coming here again, side note - if the restaurant is running slow it’s common curtsey before you even take a seat they should tell you it’s going to be a 1 HOUR 13 minute wait for food. We would’ve gone elsewhere unfortunately Won’t be going back again.

Somehow staff was so self involved that they forgot our drinks and cutlery for a very long time. They also billed us incorrectly. I always thought putting condiments in little dishes was so it seems more valuable. That’s totally voided when they do it in your sight. Food was below average, nothing special. Also there was a very strange dude in the restaurant who took the entire atmosphere down and occupied way too many staff beyond being able pay attention to other guests.

Staff lovely but food was not great. The prawns were like rubber and frozen ones. Very dispointing for the price. It's a shame as I won't go again.

Went last Friday 17th Nov 2023 had a loverly 10oz rump best i have had in ages there was 5 of us and all enjoyed the food and drink

First time but will definitely go again. Limited choice of drinks but apparently it was busy earlier in the day.

I m from out of town but the legend of Oldham Smoke yard travels far and wide. I arrived early but was entertained by Fay the manager and Ella on service. Charming hosts both of them. When the rest of my party arrived they swung into gear taking coats and bringing drinks. Ella was charming the guest and taking the orders . Only two of us ordered starters . I had macaroni cheese balls with a barbecue sauce. Man I didn’t know I was hungry until these babies arrived. I wolfed them down before being presented with a rump stake better than any I ve tasted in a long while. All the sides were served with it including fresh cold slaw tomatoes and mushrooms. Ella kaput the drinks coming then took orders for the dessert. I didn’t think I had room until I saw Biscoff cheesecake. The champion of deserts did not disappoint. Two types of cream served with a t. This literally hit the sweet spot. In terms of value for money we get are the best in the business. I ve paid twice as much for food I ve not enjoyed half as much. Nothing was too much trouble for the girls and even chef popped out to say hello and receive our compliments on the food. Thank you Smokeyard for the perfect night out.

I don't like leaving bad reviews, but our visit yesterday was so poor! We were told it was busy when we went in, and that was fine, but then had to wait 20 minutes to order a drink and get menus! We ordered starters and mains, and after an hour, we started chasing up the order. Almost 2 hours had gone by before we got part of our starters and it was burnt! We refused to pay for drinks and walked out and ate elsewhere! An absolute shambles and it had been very good previously!! Shame!

First time visit. fantastic service and excellent good value food. Lovely location and extensive menu. Had the Brooklyn Burger. The fries were fab - possibly home cooked or very very good frozen chips.

Amazing food, if I could rate it higher I would, amazing service, wonderful staff. Young lady that was waiting on the tables is an absolute credit to the restaurant . So friendly. Parking 2 min away and free for 3 hrs at wkend .

We’ve been here several times but never as a party of 10 celebrating my husbands special 50th birthday. From booking through to celebrating, it was faultless! The food was stunning. The staff were so friendly and accommodating, I loved how they showed their personalities and weren’t robotic! It really made us comfortable to enjoy ourselves. Smokeyard has always been one of my favourites in Oldham, the food is always perfect, can definitely tell its of the highest quality ❤️ We visited on Saturday for my 30th birthday celebration and everything was perfect, from the start of booking Faith was brilliant she helped personalise the menu, offered help with decorations and I even had my own cocktail which went down extremely well. Everyone was so complimentary of the food, we had pizza, chicken wings, nachos, fries. All the team working on Saturday were a huge credit to the restaurant and worked tirelessly throughout the night. They were all fantastic. Thankyou smokeyard for making my birthday so special ❤️

Went in today for what was hopefully a pleasant meal but unfortunately I would advise to give this place a miss. I was left to wait 2hrs for my food to be deliver from ordering and I cannot justify what this time went into as my food was very below satisfactory, There was no sauce, my chips were extremely over salted and the burger I ordered I believe must have been sat on the hot plate for the whole 2hrs because it was incredible dry. Overall just a poor and saddening experience

Been twice recently, food delicious and service first class and rapid. Only thing that stops it being a five star review is the lack of choice of beer.

Just left this restraunt the people are amazing it felt like we were home. Talk about their food, they have yummy food and worth every penny. My daughter struggles to eat out but she finished all her food. My partners plate looked like he washed it 😂We will be back 100%

Met by very welcoming and friendly waitress elle, we were a group of 5 and our order came very quickly cannot fault the Southern fried chicken platter even swapped my fries to sweet potatoes. Will definatly be going again.

Today was a semi decent day for the weather so I thought it would be nice to eat outside for dinner. Chose the buttermilk Chicken Burger which sounded great but as you can see from my photo, looks more like a chicken strip on a bun than an actual piece of chicken breast. Maybe it's the state of the world and supply issues but it's definitely not worth £13.25 the sauce for chips came like those little sachets you get from the kebab shops on union Street or Blackpool when you order fish and chips. the service by the woman was very good and you can tell she loves her job.

One waiter on Sunday? When a big PCA event is going on ?!! They can't take more then 4 people (it's 10of us) in as 1 waiter is sending us elsewhere? Shut down this place if you can't take people in !!!

Absolutely the right choice to celebrate with family and friends. Great food, intimate and separate room with private bar suitable for our party if 25. Dedicated team to make sure everyone had what they needed and most of all great food. 👍

Came for bottomless brunch with my friends for my birthday and we received fantastic service from all the ladies working behind the bar (Faith, Charlie and Ella). The food was amazing and so are the drinks. Deffo gonna be back again!

If you hate delicious, well made food with ultra quick service then avoid this place at all costs. The waiting staff here have designed an atmosphere that you could simply live in. I'll be coming back, especially if the staff of tonight will be on. Shout-out to a lovely Ella and Charlie making sure we were catered, every minute of our stay. The chefs did their bit, too. You can tell they don't simply read off tickets but actually ensure that they're plating up a well made meal. In conclusion: underrated. Get your families, your friends or your lovely partner down here for a meal and see for yourself.

Decent food, for 6 of us was a very good price for the quality of food and service.

Excellent lunch time visit last week with friends. Friendly atmosphere, lovely waitress and fantastic food and drinks can't complain about the food or staff at all, only the guests day out side smoking weed let it down. The tables could do with updating, I don't doubt they are cleaned regularly but because of the groves in them they are pretty grim to be honest, drag a cocktail stick down them you will see what I mean.

I organised a baby shower at smoke yard in the private room upstairs & I could not be more thankful to the ladies who helped us organise it especially Faith - thank you so much!

Fantastic food, we had the salt & pepper chicken bites (best I've ever had) and the rump steak. As someone who loves a good steak, it was amazing to have it come out as it was ordered, it was super tender and absolutely lovely. The staff are really friendly and inviting and were happy to seat us eventhough we turned up half hour early for our reservation. The banana espresso martini was also fantastic. Over all a fantastic, casual dining experience. Thank you for having us, we shall be back soon 😀

The BBQ chicken wings are absolutely to die for and the best I've had in a long time. The buttermilk burger was equally delicious. Glad we need to return to Oldham in a week or 2 so we can return. 10/10 and the staff are nice.

Extremely disappointed that the option of cocktails has now been removed from their bottomless brunch menu even though this was offered to me when I enquired only last month. I had requested a call and the member of staff that contacted me went into great detail with what the bottomless brunch entailed which included a number of cocktails. Even more frustrating this is still advertised as being included on their website. I had arranged this for my best friends special birthday and I will now have to let her down and look for an alternative restaurant.

Ordered Uber Eats and Smoke Yard accepted the order only to find out after an hour when the driver went to collect the order they hadn’t and weren’t going to make our food. Not even a telephone call to let us know so left us sat waiting for our food when they had no intention of ever making it. Not only do we now have to wait for someone else to deliver our food we will have to wait for Uber Eats to refund what we paid for our food to Smoke Yard. Shocking!! Avoid!! Not only are they accusing customers of not paying they must have someone that pockets cash. After a meal for 8, numerous attempts to sort this matter have been made by ourselves to no avail from management.

I had 2 drinks which weren't cheap, most had 1 drink and someone had a coffee, we have been told we were all drunk. We have also been told no one paid cash and there is no trace of this yet the bill did not add up to the price we were charged even with the deposit. Avoid at all cost.

I've been a few times now and the burgers are always spot-on. Friendly service (and generous portions) several beers on tap plus plenty of meat free options if you prefer

I’ve always loved smokeyard so I chose to go yesterday for my birthday. I was really disappointed. When we arrived they asked me if a table of 4 was ok for my booking when there was 7 of us. Then we didn’t receive menus until we asked for some. This didn’t bother me until 3 minutes later we were asked if we were ready to order, we were not because we hadn’t seen a menu. The starters came and they were really tasty we all really enjoyed them. Then there was quite a wait for our mains which in itself isn’t an issue because they were busy but when the food arrived it wasn’t hot. Most of it should have been sent back but we had waited so long my family just started eating. My steak came without the Brie I ordered and I sent my chips back because they were virtually cold. I told our waitress at the end that it was dealt with a free dessert and cocktail for my birthday which was lovely and they knocked off the service charge. Until I left the building I said regardless of the issues our waitress had been lovely and polite. However when we left my family noticed she pulled her face and said “she didn’t even finish it” in regards to the free cocktail. I was very full and drank 80% of the drink. Really disappointed and if it had been my first visit I wouldn’t be returning. My family were really disappointed with the quality considering it was almost a £250 bill.
