Gourmet in Oldham

What great food and at a great price really lovely seating area had a great time with the family and staff were very friendly. Haf T-bone and Beef steaks and the size of the steaks were amazing and most importantly really tastey highly recomend to get down to Gourmet and enjoy the food!

Masha'Allah food was really good, good flavours, decent steaks for the price. What stood out for me the most was the service. Masha'Allah brother Mo from Westwood really did impres us with his service, you can spend 10x more in other places but still not get this level of service. A true testament to the restaurant. Jzk

Lovely spot to eat, nice atmosphere and good value for money. Staff are friendly and respectable.

Steak was barely warm when we asked for it to be sizzling hot. The food in general is overpriced. The onions were raw and not caramelised. The sauce was way too watery. The chicken was bland. Overall, it wasn't worth it.

Food is decent and nice place to go with the family. No complaints about the service. However, a huge complaint is the cash only policy. This place has been opened for years and they still do not accept card. It’s ridiculous. If people were to pay with card then they would also order more. It’s so simple. They really need to sort this out.

Busy on a Sunday night, about a 15 min wait for a group of 5. Service was efficient and food arrived relatively quickly. Large portion sizes and tasty food at a reasonable price. Service was a bit lacking and cash only payments which is quite inconvenient nowadays.

Great food as always, best steak in Town. Visited on Sunday, treated myself and friend to fantastic T-Bone Steak!

Recommended by one of my friend ,found Not suitable and taste less for me.If you are looking for pure Asian food then absolutely Not recommended. Taste of lamb chop and salmon fish is awful. They dont use Pepsi or coke just some unbrand cheap colla. Parking is available for 2 hr free in supermarket car park.I would recommend kebabish instead for better food quality in Oldham.

Very small portions of meat more stir fry . Not worth it.

Never been disappointed with this place. If I’m not having a habibi steak I’ll have the peri Alfredo, if it’s not that it’s the sirachi chicken and always with a refreshing mojito

No Card payments, No respect from staff, Paper thin steaks. If you want real steak do not come here it’s more like mince beef squashed together. Waiter taking our order was very rude and aggressive, laughed because we asked about the menu & called us daft after asking what the meals include. Didn’t ask how well the steak needs cooking or drinks. We left the food & went to a real steak house like Toros.

Great food as always and good service

Absolutely amazing food and service. I have ceoliac and can only have gluten free. I called before hand to ask if I bought my own pasta would they cook this for me and they agreed to accommodate my needs. They made me the most delicious pasta ever and gave me some to take home which was very sweet of them to do so. The waiter who was serving us kept checking if the food was ok and I was very pleased as everything was to perfection. I will definitely come here and advise all to come.

Excellent food and staff were helpful. The atmosphere was nice. We went just before it got busy. Food was steaming hot and tasty. Parking outside so was ideal for us all.

They should advertise they only take cash on their website. As many only carry card or Apple Pay. Very disappointing

It was okay. I do not think I will be returning though. The food was not all that. My daughter liked her steak. No pepsi/coke due to boycotting, (quite odd as they are still taking cash only after many years of opening) So ordered lemonade instead. Did not taste like lemonade, there was a horrible after taste. Ditched that, ordered a bottled water but tasted like out of date product. When paying the staff asked if everything was okay. I said not really, won't be coming back. The staff just shrugged and took the cash. We left. Not a great customer service.

The food was OK but their was a few pieces of chicken that was raw and like slimy substance on them I was realy ill for a week got food poisoning

Rating based on last 3 visits. Food is average, service was good, atmosphere is good. Price is reasonable. Overall okay. There are better steak places out there if you fancy steak. *had poor experience yesterday, came with family and kicked us off table to be able to make room for a larger group. Didnt get to enjoy the atmosphere and didnt get the service like others there. Food was bang average. Was dissapointed ob this occastion. P.s. treat everyone equally

Went with a friend a few weeks back. Very busy restaurant so it shows the food is great! After trying the food I must say the food is bang on. Only downside food took around 45 mins to come but I could see the guys in kitchen working their a***es off! Well done guys!

Nice place to come with the family. I have been here so many times, my only issue is it’s cash only and has been ever since it’s been open. And we’re talking years!!! This can be a problem because tbh not everyone carries cash and card is much more convenient. In all these years they still result to CASH ONLY (dodging something if u ask me) The amount we spend in here card should be accepted!!!

Ordered chicken steak (Habibi) and it had 0 flavour!!! Ordered another plain chicken steak for my partner, looked so unseasoned and dry. Mocktails are overpowered with mint! Won't be back. Staff were attentive, and place is clean.

Absolute shambles! It took over an hour to be served. They were busy on a Friday night but over 1 hour is just ridiculous.

Outstanding food, I've had quite a few different things off the menu now and everything has been top notch. Big portions too.

I went for t bone steak on a sizzler. I always have my steak medium well. Steak cooked to perfection 10/10 The service is definitely 10/10 Very busy place, value for money as we was a party of 8. 7 different mains, 1 children meal and 9 drinks. Bill £140.00

I have been to this place - before the food was Great tonight I came in I ordered food the waiter who had taken my order said to me twice you have to be quick we are closing Chef will not cook Food which clearly I rang up and they said I have plenty time second point was - the burger were very hard and chewy fajita tasted bland and the Wraps were dry I give honest reviews I hate giving bad review but u can’t tell your customer my chef won’t cook for u because we are late I go a lot in Oldham to eat but now this is the last from this place am sorry

2 stars for because this place is cash only it's 2023 for god sake, had to go and look for cash machine before I order my food, after we finish the food they were soo quick to pick everything even we had drinks in our glasses they pick that without asking if we finish or not, food was average nothing special quite blend,

Whilst visiting Oldham, my family came across this restaurant which easily accommodated 10 adults plus 4 children with ease (2 of which were in highchairs). The food was good. I asked for medium for my steak but instead got well done. The majority of the table had well done steaks, but the seasoning was good and portion sizes were gigantic (I was not able to eat the full meal!). If in Oldham again, I will definitely visit again.

We are a foodie family we like to try all foods we've been to so many restaurants this sit at the top of our table not lying we've been some really nice places and the food and experience blew our mind we just walked in 9 of us and was no nice and warm very clean and so helpful if you not been here your still going to the wrong places ❤️💯❤️

My favourite place I love this place the staff are all very helpful food is exceptional I always have a bad boy sizzler which is out of this world… always recommending this place to all my family and Friends.

The food here has always been good but the new addition of the Currys especially the chicken handi OMG!! It was amazing. Service was good the only reason it got 3 stars was because it took some time for the food however we were told about the time it would take but still it could be quicker but then again that might have effected the quality of the food. Atmosphere was good but can get really busy

We have visited Gourmet for many years now, the food is always fantastic,service is great and the price is fair. Highly recommended. The habibi chicken,siracha chicken and egg fried rice and the beef noodles are our regular order with a Hummus and garlic naan starter 😋

Drove 30 miles to try this place, parking was an issue had to park on double yellows, got table straightaway, we had to wait 20 mints for food to be served, was too hot inside no aircon, food is reasonably priced, ordedered habibi chicken veg platter which was bland and veg was under cooked and very small portion, felt they had used frozen pack, Pepsi had metal taste to it not the original. We were overcharged when the bill came always make sure you check your bill before paying.

Since this has opened, it has always been my regular place to go to with family and friends. Every time that i have been there, i can say the food has been spot on and i have tried almost the entire menu they offer. Staff are always friendly and give excellent service. I would highly recommend this place to go to and by far its one of the best in Oldham from my experience. Moreover, the selection of drinks are very good with the selection of food on the menu. Finally, i would like to say to the owners of Gourmet keep going with the high standards you have kept over the years.

Alhamdullilah. The food here was amazing. The decoration and the interior here was amazing. I ordered the T-bone steak. This steak was really high quality and the meat was very juicy and succulent. The mashed potato was thick and creamy also the sides that went with my steak were top notch. The peppercorn sauce was amazing. One of the best sauces I have ever had! The customer service was amazing as well. I do hope in the future they can add a card machine, but don't let that stop you from coming to this establishment as there is an Aldi and also a Tesco within 2 minutes walking distance of Gourmet. Will be always looking forward to visiting this restaurant hopefully as a regular customer in the future.

Mine and my husband go to place for food! Quality is amazing and portion size is more than enough. We love the Siracha chicken with egg fried rice, not found anything similar elsewhere. Only issue is the drinks, very flat.

One of the worst restaurants i ever visited .. and just today we went for a dinner as we all knw its ramadan so we all we’re fasting and went there to eat it say open when I checked online but when we went there it was close Absolutely disgusting 🤢

We went for my mother's day meal. To be honest the food would be the only reason to return if I did..customer service was not amazing. There was 7 of us with a toddler and a baby in a carrier. They made us sit in a booth which was very cramped. I asked if we could sit at a table which had 8 chairs. He said no. Shortly after we were compressed into the booth a group of 4 men came and sat at the 8 seater table. When food was finally served 2 of us moved to another table as we just could not eat comfortably at all. So the point of having a meal together was defeated 😕. Dinner took a very long time to arrive. We were told when we placed the order that it would take 35-45 minutes as we didn't order as soon as we came in and others ordered before us. That's understood but the rest of our group was yet to join..how could we have ordered?? Atmosphere was not enjoyable..everyone's food was taking long do most people looked bored and fed up. Sound was too loud and the stringy curtain thing on the booths looks awful and tired and gets in the way! Ladies Toilet were clean but no hand-wash. Gents had hand-wash but floor was a disgrace. Overall they are a very busy restaurant with really good food but let down by the snobbiness of the staff and overall atmosphere. The thing is there are many restaurants out there now especially in that area so I would only go if I was in a really good mood and willing to give it a try again. Last time I went here was 5 years ago..gave it another chance..maybe I'll try again in 5 years!

Great fillet steak, very juicy. Large filling sides. Only gripe is CASH payment only.

So the mocktail was not nice at all, just very syrupy. It was monday evening and the place was dead but still I was not allowed to sit in a place of my own choice. Awful customer service. Constant stares from the workers, who kept walking up and down every few seconds (like why?) The mix starter wasn’t tasteful, but the chips were nice. Honestly I wouldn’t come back.

This is by far the best steak place in Oldham. Always consistent. I had T-bone steak habibi and my wife had Thai sweet chilli chicken and it was delightful, tasted fresh and customer service as always was brilliant. This is my go to place for a great steak as it never disappoints

I have been here a couple of times now and have been pleased with my food both times. The dishes are full of flavour and the portion sizes are really big. The staff are very pleasant. Highly recommended.

Ended up getting the Steak Sizzler. Food was good but nothing amazing, I mean I wasn't wowed by anything, just pretty standard in terms of flavour and sauces. Meal was cooked how I wanted and it came with full of sides etc so I didn't leave wanting more. Would I come again? Sure but not anytime soon, probably if majority of my friends wanted to come of not. Also they don't take card.

Me and my mates from secondary from year 11 till years later had a absolute buzz here! The steaks are of a good standard you may have to ask specifically how you want your stake cooked, but for atmosphere we had a right buzzzz! Food was generally on point and sits in the stomach well!!! Chicken mozzarella 😍 all sauces 👌🏽 sirloin/T bone habibi special extra chillis👍🏼 and everything was generally great tbh chefs know they stuff… Obviously I’ve heard they had some issues in the past but that’s non of my business 🐸☕️ publicity stunt, real beef? god knows my mate chased me in the snow In front of gourmet, I done a Ronaldinho faint right seen the ice I’ve gone left, he went straight into the ice and went for a 6ix 🏏 the streets will never forget! He got roasted for that for years 😂

waited 2 hours for the food .than ordered tea came after half an hour ordered cookie dough waited another half an hour even when ordered same time .never coming here again.

Sirloin was edible not good as it used to be maybe there was a change of chef Juliene was burnt and flavourless couldnt even eat 1/5th of it Gravy was low quality Pasta was basic Mash and chips ok Peri rice is cheeky to be called that coz it was flavourless and they gave old rice, im an expert with my rice so i know old and new im a chef for 13+ years myself. Maybe they rushed the order coz we picked it up instead of dining inside due to preference Really sad that nowdays its about how much money we can make than how much quality and love we can cook with. Thats why when i cook with my heart for my loved ones i dont charge them £ just need appreciation

Awful experience. Was £10 short and they wanted cash only, they expected me to go to an ATM, they won't even let me transfer the money. Customer next to my table offered to transfer money to his account in exchange for £10 cash. They should accept card like every other VAT paying restaurant. Food was mediocre. Never again.

Disgusting food and 82 quid ..avoid

Nice atmosphere but found the dynamite shrimp starter to be small & overpriced. We weren't given any plates for it and the drinks came after the starters. Main course wise, lamb habibi and julienne beef steak were lovely! Still very annoying that this place doesn't accept cash, so had to trek to tesco in the cold 🥶

Overpriced, thin lamb steak and not the greatest taste, didn’t taste like lamb, tasted more like mince. Complained about this to a waiter and asked for a manager, for another waiter to come to me and tell me 100 people visit everyday and don’t complain? Staff were rude and were talking about me amongst each other after I had complained. Had a waiter who ignored me twice.. manager did replace my steak but staff generally need to know how to treat customers? Wont come back due to rude staff, manager was nice.

The garlic nan was not in house made. It was bought from the shop. Sprinkled eith water and microwaved. Could feel the water in the nan. Steak was cooked good but the peppercorn sauce was really bad. It was runny and had black colour. They need to add more pepper s and some CREAM. Chicken handing was OK

Sizzling palace Toros Istanbul What do all these places have in common? That plate of food’ curried, cheesed, oiled to death. But’ this place is not that bad’ One word of advice’ kitchen staff, please don’t shout across the restaurant to chat with your mates, or blurt out your opinions while l eat’ Be a bit more discreet. Service is good, attentive and fast The pastas are very good’ I wouldn’t go here for steak. Stick to Fazenda. Overall nice decor but it’s for a very very young crowd.

Yesterday me and my friend enjoyed a lovely meal at Gourmet. I have been a number of times and everytime I visit the food is spot on! The customer service is amazing every visit. The staff are very attentive and making sure everything was okay. 10/10 for customer service and food! The decor is lovely and the restaurant and tables are very clean. Definitely worth a visit if you are up north/around Oldham area! 👌🏽
