decent food, quick and very tasty. Big fan of bloke who served us was cracking up jokes. Definitely recommend the fiery Bhuna and the king prawn masala. Big Up!

AVOID! i’ve never seen such bad customer service in my life. the lies, rudeness and ignorance from a restaurant is a joke. over an hour late is unacceptable and the fact i called and the guy on the phone kept telling me “driver left” “driver near” for the past 5 times. i have been patient and then it turns out the delivery guy was at the wrong address and made me walk to find him. he kept saying he’s right when in fact he was wrong. thought the food would’ve been worth the wait at least but it was cold!!! will never order from here again and i recommend others not to especially if you are a woman because of how rude the men i’ve contacted from the restaurant have treated me and raising their voice at me for something that is not my fault. your restaurant your responsibility to deliver to the right address and at an acceptable time!! not even a single apology.

We're blessed with a lot of great take-away curry houses round here but Smithdown Balti might be the best.

Just visited here after years of wanting to try it; the staff are so lovely and the food was absolutely spot on! Everything tasted so fresh and fresh coriander is always a bonus! Would definitely recommend, I will of course be visiting here again soon. Additionally, the price was excellent ; £24.50 (for 2people) So, 2 popadoms with 3 chutneys, 2 mixed kebab starters, 3 samosas, 2 rice and a lamb korai it came out £20 cheaper than our usual local Indian ✊🏽 Thanks for my lovely scran chief, see you soon! 😍

Working away in Liverpool and fancied having an Indian. Had a google and Smithdown Balti, was the first choice to appear. Had a quick scroll through the reviews and thought let’s give it a go, food was amazingly fresh and extremely tasty. Arrived piping hot. I negative is the online ordering system seems to repeat itself so can make ordering a tad difficult. Other than that would definitely recommend Smithdown Balti and would certainly order from them again if I was to visit liverpool

Unfortunately this must be worst indian. Honestly the currys were all water no thickness to any of the curries Chicken Tikka was tuff and lamb tikka was mixed with normal lamb? I paid extra for Tikka and was given normal in both dishes All tasted the same,I've been eating curries over 48 years, Bland no taste,all curries have distinct flavour and sauce always thick and rich. They are not cooking it long enough for the sauce to thicken. Our meal was ready in 8mins!!!! 4 currys hows this possible We won't be ordering again stay away you dont receive what you paid for,substandard

I was really hoping I'd like this place, but I was left a little disappointed. The service was good, but the food was mediocre. I ordered, over the phone, to collect my takeaway after 40 mins. On arrival, I could see that they were snowed under with orders, so I patiently waited for my food - no issues. I understand that they've no doubt priced competitively with the local area, but where I'm from (in the South West), you can pick up a naan for £1-£1.50 instead of the £2 you pay here. The food wasn't bad, but I feel that it lacked finesse, and it was just rushed through - for example, the onions in my mixed kebab were barely fried. Perhaps it's because they were so busy. I asked for the naans thin and well-done, but I think they might have forgotten. I note that they don't actually have a tandoori oven which, in my opinion, is key to making good kebabs and naans. The mint sauce had an interesting sweetness to it, which I wasn't too keen on. I thought I might receive some complimentary papadums, given the size of my order, but I was disappointed. Maybe I have a particular British Indian taste pallette; perhaps I'm used to the flavours from takeaways in the Midlands and South West. For me, Smithdown Balti isn't quite up to scratch.

Just ordered an amazing balti curry!!! Sauce is rich and flavoursome. Spice level was just right. Can't recommend highly enough. Poppadoms fresh and delicious. Best in town !!!!

Good takeaway for a quick bite.

Had 2 full meals delivered from here. Each time quality, spicy and fresh curries delivered fast. Balti was spicy and full of vegetables. Malay curry was fruit laden, but spicy.. a gem! Vegetable biryani was huge, lovely curry with it. Naans very large and not greasy.onion Bhajis 4 for £2 with salad and sweet dip are delicious... Highly recommended!

Good freshly cooked traditional British curry dishes plus some more novel options in the specials and sides. Cooked in front of you (if you collect) in the open kitchen. There was a little delay when I picked up as I think they were finishing dishes freshly as well as dealing with phone orders (about 15 minutes). Good portions, good size at reasonable prices. Nice flavours. We ordered all vegetarian dishes and were pleased to find they contained fresh seasonal veg whereas 'Indian' restaurants often use perfectly acceptable but less tasty frozen veg in the veg curries. This was our first visit and we will definitely order from Smithdown Balti again.

Ordered from this place occasionally for a few years and it's always been great. Then ordered a chicken tikka masala from their the other week and I swear it was like Heinz tomato ketchup mixed with curry sauce and water. Has it changed management or chiefs ? Won't be ordering again in a hurry.

We order from here a lot usually spot on but we ordered our food we waited over an hour our order was wrong we asked for medium spice an got very spicy the chips were limp and cold and the onion barges were undercooked very disappointed especially because of the price

Took over 2.5 hours to be delivered, had to chase it a couple of times. It was a saturday to be fair 1 thing missed off order. The food was amazing probably one of the best curries i have ever had. Shame it took so long

i have to say this is a really lovely take-away. i ordered onion bahji, sheek kebab starters. for the main lamb rogan josh, chicken tikka masalla with one boiled rice and one pilau rice. it was all absolutely delishes, i loved the way i could see the chefs cooking, hence how clean the cooking area was. all the meat was cooked perfectly and the sauces really good. my husband says he would have liked the rogan josh to be a bit more spicy but i am sure they would have done that had we asked. we were even given a couple of free poppadums which was a really nice little touch. given accurate time for collection and all in all considering there is a lot of competition in this area i think this place has a good balance. not expensive but really lovely food. we ate everything and will return and recommend to friends as my son recommended it to us.

Outstanding food. Exactly what you want from an Indian takeaway. Very reasonably priced too. Karahi and bhuna both amazing, both rich and good portions. Chicken chat perfect. Home made naan amazing. Shame they don't deliver to town, but it's much better food and far cheaper than anything on offer in town. We will be back

TL;DR - Smithdown Balti stole £26 off me, after they took 3.5 hours to deliver. Avoid this place if you pay through Just Eat. Ordered food at 6:30pm with an 8:00pm delivery time. Long, but okay. It was a Saturday after all. This gets pushed back to 8:20pm. At 8:30pm still no food. I call and they say they're busy and it will be another half an hour. By 9:30pm still no food. Tried to cancel it through JustEat without luck. The takeaway stop taking calls. By 10:15pm the family have gone to bed and I've eaten a pack of noodles out the cupboard still. 10:30pm a knock on the door. I politely refuse the delivery and request a refund. He tells me to speak to JustEat. I raise a ticket with them and they tell me they can't do anything until the takeaway authorise a refund. They also tell me that I have to chase them to do this.

Good food, but part of my order was wrong, no apology or offer of refund given, was just asked if I'd 'like to buy a different rice'. Bad way to deal with a mistake, an apology would have sufficed.

I love Indian food and, in my opinion, this Indian takeaway is the best Indian food and best value in Liverpool. Wonderful food, wonderful service, highly recommended.

Called in tonight, ordered a lamb vindaloo and mushroom pilau. Watching them cook it is fab. The guy who took my order was the friendliest man I've come across in a takeaway. Was a fab experience, the curry was the bomb!

ordered food off these cowboys i must say ive had better service in Mumbai and this place is in Liverpool food turned up without any rice yea indian without rice wouldnt believe it would yea but i was still charged £1.50 delivery charge these cowboys wanted to send rice later on i asked them to justify delivery charge when delivery was incomplete only for them to put down the phone then they sent along a cowboy with money for rice that didnt come so make your own judgement folks good service or bad

We ordered a delivery on Saturday night, we expected a slow delivery because it was an evening on the weekend, however after waiting about an hour and 45 mins, the food turned up without 2 of our dishes. I promptly called and they sent round the forgotten dishes about 30 mins later (after everyone else had finished eating). Also, the dishes we did order were pretty bland, definitely not the best curry I've ever had.

Good location for pickups, their curries are very well done. The tadka dal is a particular favourite of mine due to its nice and smokey flavour.

The food here, when the chefs are on form, is the best around - easily. Sarah and her husband (head chef) are really lovely, lovely people. I used to order from this place when it was Naz Tandoori, and they've only added to the fantastic legacy left behind by the predecessor. The delivery staff need changing, because the usual guy is a fat, obnoxious dick; other than that, one can't fault the place! Thumbs well and truly up!

Have been using this takeaway for many years since before it re-opened as Smithdown Balti. There is no Indian restaurant or takeaway anywhere that matches the quality of this food. Pricing is pitched at Smithdown Road student levels, the service is fantastic and dishes are heaven on a plate.

Love the food from here, never been in the restaurant but the takeaway food is delicious! Only issue is the staff never get out of their car, and often park on the other side of a busy road when they deliver for us. Fantastic food and we use it regularly!!
