Asiana Indian Cuisine in Liverpool

One of the best Indian restaurants I’ve been to- every thing excellent. Food very tasty service spot on and very reasonable prices- would definitely recommend to anyone.

Really Enjoyed the meal. Had the banquet and it was just enough any more I would have burst. The staff are great as well. Thanks to the Chancellor who paid 50% but would have happy to pay full price

After reading the last review on here as poor, we were a bit edgy to eat here. We have been twice previously with no complaints so we were wondering what had changed as new management had taken over. Then we remembered we had eaten there with the new management. Last night was really nice, the atmosphere was relaxing staff very attentive, only one or two tables empty. I ordered the King Prawn starter and Lamb Korma, my husband had the spicy mushrooms and Chicken Birani. The food was lovely and plenty of it. Please don't be concerned with previous comments. Maybe just a bad night but there were certainly no complaints from us last night. Sorry not allowing me to post my pictures of our delicious food.

Omg don't be fooled this is NOT the Asiana as you may have known it. It's been taking over and is now living on the name of the previous owners when it as amazing. It's gone right down hill to the point where I could do better myself with an Indian out of a jar.

Loved this place food used to be exceptional food. But omg how it's changed had no idea it had new owners until we ordered a take away. Food was awful we spent £50 for a family of 4 and we ended up throwing half the food away. Would love to know where the precious owners have moved too... Word of advice DO NOT EAT FROM HERE waste of money and tasteless

Just literally got back with a takeaway from here and its absolutely disgusting! What on earth has happened? £30 worth of food has gone straight in the bin!! Does anyone know if there are new owners?! Used to be lovely but would not go here ever again!!

Visited here for mothers day for an impromptu meal with the kids. Really relaxing atmosphere with a none rushed service. I got the mixed Vindaloo and boy it was hot but so tasty. Would definitely recommend!

I will keep this short. Do not order a takeaway on a Sunday night. Totally got a bland and uneatable meal. See photos. Onion barggies cold and cut in half and a salad with no cucumber, tomato or lemon etc just limp lettuce. Cold main of King prawn deoplaza in a plain curry sauce. No onion or peppers etc. Going to address this issue tomorrow so I will keep everyone posted.

My family have been going here for years, we have seen a recent decline. There is no recognition of loyalty either as my father been going here for years.. my partner got a chipati and a shop bought tortilla wrap was presented. The food was just average, on occassions it is lovely but not always consistent and not always as requested. Maybe they have changed chefs who knows- but from below comments this isnt and isolated opinion.

Been going here for years but recently few and far between visits due to cost and portion sizes (especially takeout) Food great, however charged £3.95 for a pint of coke out of a 2litre bottle. Carpet is sticky and worn. Absolutely freezing in there, heating obviously broke due to 1or 2 electric heaters dotted round. Toilets disgraceful, the urinals are not plumbed in and look as though they get bleach squirted at them once a week and the toilet can’t be sat on in its current position, In desperate need of a refurb and a good look at the drink prices. It’s a shame but won’t be going back again.

I’ve eaten a lot of Indian Food this in my time but the Asiana is right up at the top of my rankings. The whole family enjoyed. Efficient staff and helpful. It might not look much from the outside but don’t let that fool you. It’s all about the food as it should be. Pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. Looking forward to going back. First time we didn’t get a free whiskey/baileys at end of night but maybe that coz it was so busy at new year or that this time we had the kids with us. Either way, still love the place.

Went about 5.30 a few Saturdays ago, haven’t been here for years but food still great. Staff were really friendly and the food arrived within about 15 minutes. Little shots and chocolates after the meal are always a nice touch so love the way they still do this! Less than £40 for a meal for 2 and had to take some home because the portions are so big!

Not what this place used to be, once upon time this was the place to be, food was great and staff were good. Now you get cocky cheeky waiters with attitude, if complain about the food make waiters make it sound like what you're doing here if you don't like the food. Really Sad to see this place go down. Won't be coming back. Thanks for the past memories.

Me and my wife went on a Sunday night a few weeks ago, Been going here for years but this was the worst I've ever had, I usally have about 4 pints of Kingfisher because I love the stuff, No way it was Kingfisher they was serving, Tasted like Carling and I hate carling Meal was very bland and we had the offer and the bill came to £54 and then I was told the card machine wasn't working and only had £55 on me, Why couldn't they tell us before the meal was ordered Don't think ill be going back again in a hurry, Shame really because I've always liked it When me and my wife left there was NIL customers left in there and it was only 8pm, Not atall like the old Asiana

Went for my brother's birthday like we did last year. What a difference the wine glasses were dirty and the selection was so poor i had to pop to tescos for a bottle the starters looked over cooked and we then waited 90 minutes for our main meal which were not what we orderd we complained and paid for the drinks and left.Never again.

Myself and two friends went here last night for a catch up! The place was empty at first but soon filled right up, the food was lovely I especially enjoyed the “cheese hoppers” for my starter! The three of us had no faults with anything!

Booked the table for 8pm last Saturday night,and to our surprise there wasn't many people there,I don't know wether it's changed hands or not as it wasn't up too it's usual standards,hardly any staff to ask about meals and no little free drink at the end of the evening.

Hemos estado viniendo aquí desde que abrió, inicialmente llamado Las Cobras Den, siempre tenía una buena a muy buena experiencia pero fue sorprendida por la última semana. 8:00 de un viernes por la noche, y casi vacío muy extraño, llevaron a nuestra mesa y beber y pedir comida en un buen tiempo. Bebidas llegamos en un corto período de tiempo y la comida no mucho después, así que no hay queja sobre el personal o el servicio, pero la comida le faltaba cualquier resplandor o chispa soso en extremo. Dos de nuestro grupo vive en Bradford y mientras estaban muy educado podía ver que no estaban impresionados. Me llevaron de vuelta por la diferencia entre lo que una vez fue un restaurante muy animado y experiencia agradable y los viernes.

I would like to say how disappointed I was with the service we received we ordered our meal and waited a hour and 40 minutes for are meal some of which was burnt the manager sent over a completely bottle of wine of which was to go round 12 people and was like vinegar . When we ask to speak to manager we waited 20 minuets and he said they where busy but the where not only had another group of 30 in we booked it two weeks ago so they was aware we we coming I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone as they don’t care how they treat people so give this restaurant a miss

Le expliqué a la persona en el teléfono que tenía una alergia a la leche por lo que no pudo haber lácteos y preguntó si el curry podría hacerse sin gee mantequilla. El hombre dijo que no, como la salsa de pre hechas. Pregunté si podía ser fresca como alérgico a los ingredientes que me dijeron que no. Entonces me dijo educadamente o no puede satisfacer mis alergias", que me dijeron que el punto blanco 'no' muy decepcionados con el pobre servicio al cliente y voluntad de ayudar! Obviamente no se va a la Asiana, que es una pena que en el local para mí.

We have been having meals at the Asian for several years with no complaint but the last three visits have been poor ,have they change the chef ?becaus the taist of the curry sauces all taist the same,my granddaughter age 12 got a Korea ,my daughter ordered a monk fish curry and I ordered a madras the difference between all three sauces was minimal ,please bring back your old chef .

Starter of Samosas....poor quality filling and not crisp enough.Main course Biryani with prawns was underwhelming...consistency was a bit 'wet' rather than dry and aromatic... accompanying veg.curry was 'ok'.Not impressed.

We had a good meal, went for the set menu for 2, this muddled the waiter who was probably quite new

We visited the restaurant on 17th Feb. We ended up leaving after waiting over an hour and a half for any service, we booked the table at 7:30 and were not sat down till 8:15! There was not enough staff, we waited over half an hour even to be asked what drinks we would like and when they finally arrived they were incorrect and one of the wine glasses had a fresh lipstick stain on, you could tell it had literally been picked up from another table and brought to ours without being cleaned. We have been here before and enjoyed it so I dont know what happened this time. We decided to leave in the end and asked for the bill, I was really unhappy with the service on an important day for a large group of 10 of us (we had pre booked), so I asked the guy behind the bar what was going on and he abruptly replied with 'do you want a discount!'. This was not what I wanted I simply would of liked an apology for the lack of service or empathy. I was told then that there was a bereavement which I was extremely sorry to hear. If this was the case we would of completely understood cancelling our booking.

El servicio era horrible, no había comunicación entre los miembros del personal, etc. Sin embargo, el personal muy amable. . ! Este solía ser mi favorito India hasta la última hace 18 meses o así. ! He oído de una buena fuente que use la gestión como un centro de entrenamiento para los camareros, etc., lo cual está bien, pero los estándares para los clientes de pago debe seguir siendo de primera categoría (nota a la gerencia. ! ). Came here xmas eve with friends and kids , given a lovely little booth , friendly staff , couldn’t do...

Hemos estado aquí muchas veces y esta vez era para comida de cumpleaños calle amigas de nuestro hijo 21. Bhuna pidieron pollo cordero bhuna y les dieron. Pedí pollo biryani sin esmirna y todo lo que conseguí fue arroz con cebollas y pollo. Casi ningún sabor. La parte superior de la pan naan era ligero, pero el Fondo era duro como una roca. Tuvimos que pedir 3 veces para el agua del grifo. Los típicos chocolates baileys, brandy y al final de la comida era muy agradable y no ofrecieron a los 2 curries fuera del menú, pero mi hijo rechazado, ya que había comido alguna. Les trajo un pollo tikki inicial por medio de una disculpa. Todo el mundo estaba completo, pero un poco decepcionante. No tan sabroso como de costumbre.

I've been coming here for years and is my first choice for Asian food in Liverpool. The staff are fantastic and friendly. The service is swift. And the food is wow! My fussy 9 year old son loves it here. Portions are large but the food is very tasty.

Había mucho para elegir y vegetarianos parecía estar bien atendidos. Las gambas ajo mantequilla king eran un poco decepcionante, pero el rape principal era muy agradable. El servicio era muy bueno. Not gonna lie if you have a bad poo the day after a curry, the gaff is doing something right, and these lads are certainly doing it right, there duck starter is better than sadio mane and there Vindaloo is a winner to, a big bottle of Cobra to wash it all down and some poppadoms what more could you want from a curry house?

Every place has their up and downs but tonight the place was empty and food was awful. No seasoning, over cooked and poor flavour. It's such an amazing place but please keep the chefs high quality. You are lovey people but to keep your business going you need to get back to the original quality or this place will be gone soon

Visited here with my wife, brother in law and his wife, one of the best restaurants I have been in for Indian food. Myself and another asked for a meal that was not on there menu,it was cooked for us just as I expected it to taste. Superb dishes for everyone and great service from excellent staff, we will definitely return. Recommended for everyone, compliments to the chef

Popped in on Grand National day on the off chance of getting a table. Luckily we were seated in 15 minutes or so after having a drink at the bar. Totally unassuming from the outside, but don't let this fool you. The food was delicious, the service was quick, efficient and friendly. Definitely going back again soon.

This restaurant is in the Liverpool suburb of West Derby and can be accessed by car and bus. There is on street parking. The place does not look much from the outside and is accessed down some steep steps. However, from then on it is all good news. The place is usually busy, so may need to book. Food is traditional Indian fare, freshly cooked and tasty. The staff are knowledgable about the menu and willing to advise on your choice. Never had a bad meal there.

Used to come here often but food quality went down but decided to give it another go. we were sorry we did. The mulligatawny soup was tasteless and the texture was gritty. My chicken Rajasthan which used to be great had 4 pieces of meat and no taste at all. My husband had the Zhal Balti which was better. We will not be visiting here again.

4 of us went to Asiana about a week ago and it's such a joy, since our beloved Royal Tandoori on Smithdown closed down, to find a fantastic Indian restaurant again.Yes it's down some steps but I find that kind of cute, just be careful going down as they're narrow.The staff are attentive, warm, welcoming and chatty and the food is EXCELLENT - speaking for myself, everything I ate was just perfect, absolutely delicious, the main - the tomato-based vegetable roghan josh - the fries, naan, rice, poppadums and pickles/chutney tray, everything.I think my friends feel similarly.We also enjoyed the little complementary drinks at the end, a nice touch.My husband couldn't make it as planned that night, so we plan to go again soon as he is keen to visit. Asiana beats more hyped up local Indians we've been to, hands down.5* for Asiana from me.

Really love this restaurant. The food is fresh and delicious with a great menu. Chef is always happy to accommodate of you want anything a little bit different. The staff are attentive but not ott. Funny and friendly people. Great prices with good offers on too. Love the way they give you free complimentary Brandy and Bailey's with lovely chocolates to finish off your fantastic meal. The Asiana is just extraordinarily good; wonderful. I have been a regular customer at the Asiana since it opened many years ago and I can't remember ever having a bad meal. I'm pretty sure that I have now tried everything on the menu....seriously! I'm writing this review because this restaurant deserves 5 stars and higher recognition within the Liverpool food scene. Whatever type of curry you prefer, the Asiana delivers it with tonnes of flavour. If you don't know what to choose, just ask the incredibly friendly staff and they will cater to your tastes.Want some tips? - Try the machli biran or any of the Asiana fish curries....they are exquisite. - Don't like fish or too much spice? Try the chicken badami. - Want something really meaty and flavoursome? Try a lamb sagwala.- Fancy something spicy? Then there's still plenty on the menu to choose from...If you are undecided whether to try this restaurant....just go and take your time to enjoy the food. Remember, it's not a fast food restaurant...so you won't be in and out in 30 minutes. The beer and wine list is very good too!Enjoy!!!

Came here last night with my Son and my Husband,first time for me.As soon i we went in i felt the warmth of the place and the Staff,very homley.The food was Amazing i had the Korma,Chicken cooked to Perfection.I havn't been to an Indian restaurant for years,but i will deff return here.All staff very helpful and Cheerful,had the best ever Irish Coffee to finish with,followed by a small Baileys on the House.Can't wait to return X

Booked a table at the Asiana for 8pm on Saturday 12th November.Arrived at 7.55 and was told to take a seat in the waiting area, which we did. Ten minutes later we were shown to our table and were asked if we wanted a drink. My wife asked for a couple of minutes while we chose a wine and the waiter left us to check the list. Finally we upped and left at 8.25 pm as nobody seemed to want to serve us. We put on our coats and left. I'm pretty sure that we had become invisible as the staff never seemed To know we were there. Thought we would give this restaurant a try but after this farce we had a drink in The Halton Castle and called a taxi to Yukti where we reappeared and had a most enjoyable meal. Cannot rate the food as never had anything to eat or drink. Not to worry as we will stick to the Gulshan or Yukti in future.

We used to go here a lot a few years back so thought we'd give it a go. The place has changed hands, has been spruced up a bit, new staff throughout. The food was just as good if not slightly better beating most of Indians in liverpool.. The staff were very attentive and helpful. This place is well worth a try. Loved it an will definitely be going back there.

Visited last Friday and can only say it's a good as ever.We both love Indian cuisine and we've got a little gem on our doorstep.The food is always great and the staff are a credit to the restaurant, always friendly and work so hard to make sure you're looked after.The King Fisher in draft is also very one of the best around, I can only assuming that the pipes are regularly cleaned and services as I've not had a bad pint in there for over a year.I would really recommend this Indian, unassuming but with lots of substance.We will be back soon Asiana!

Very unprepossessing location down some scruffy steps in a basement but really really worth the effort - some of the best Indian food tasted recently with the friendliest proprietors. Not cheap but then you get what you pay for and this was value for money.King prawn puri was exceptional. Shame they can't improve on the lager!

Had a lovely indian meal tonight at the Asiana, starters: Tandoori king prawns/prawns in garlic butter, came on a sizzling hot plate, mains: Buttered chicken/Chicken Passanda, Pilau Rice, Garlic Nan. First time we've eaten at the Asiana, food was fantastic, service incredible, staff very attentive, very friendly throughout, Mohammed, Omar and the team made us feel really welcome, couldn't do enough for us, would recommend this restaurant in West Derby Village to all, reasonably priced, large portions, also has a 5* food rating, definitely will be returning.

This is an Indian restaurant situated in west derby village.the service is second to none,and the food is fabulous,if you have never tried this restaurant you must go you won't be disappointed nothing is too much trouble.

Dined here 3hours ago myself and three others people and have to say there is serious room for improvement.I have been a regular customer for around 7 years and not being over fussy with slight minor issues in the past have always overlooked these with a blind eye.booked a table for around 8pm arrived on time only to wait for about 15 minutes to be seated so no big deal there.had poppidom and drinks before ordering starters and main meals so far so good.we then ordered starters and main meals along with a bottle of wine.one of the drinks we ordered beforehand was a white wine with soda but actually arrived with a white wine and lemonade.after pointing this out to the waiter it was changed for the correct drink.the starter arrived and was ok but the main meal I ordered of chicken tikka balti tasted like a cheap curry sauce from a jar.we then asked for the wine we ordered twice before it was eventually served at our table by then we had eaten half the meal.on visiting the mens toilet there was obviously a water leak from the plumbing somewhere and hence the floor was covered in water on a tiled floor so slipping on this was bound to happen to someone less stable on their feet.I don't mean to be a snobbish whatever by writing this review but there needs to be serious changes implicated in this restaurant by means of the decor and the carpet that looks like it a a health hazard in itself but it's not the asiana from the past.I noticed that the management seems to have changed so maybe there lies the problem.would not be bothered to return as you pay your money so expect a decent restaurant to live up to its expectations.

Recommended this out of the way indian restaurant by a local and boy were we impressed. Friday evening and it was packed and with a first for us in an indian restaurant. Yes - monk fish curry of a number of options - excellent taste. The chef was also saying goodbye at the end and directed us onto the next bar etc.

Friendly staff make sure you're well and truly looked after. We were quickly taken to a smartly laid out table and served promptly. The menu is well presented and an appropriate distraction to the immense biceps owned by one of the staff.Plenty of choice and we went for simple mixed starter and Kurries. Perfectly filling and tasty with an aperitif gratis.Recommended as bill was low cost.

Excellent food & service every time I have been to the restaurant to dine in or take way! Friendly staff & gorgeous food! Mid week offers on food & A Complimentary baileys on the way out is an added bonus!

This is our 3rd time visiting this restaurant and we've never had a bad word to say about this place . The staff are so friendly you even get the chef coming out to see how your food is. The foods amazing so yummy can't wait to come again

I really can not praise Asiana staff enough, they're all friendly and helpful. The food is delicious, it is a little more pricey than some other restaurants offering similar food, but it is well worth the extra money. The food is all fresh and everything is always nice and hot when it comes out. I've been eating here for about the last year, I always feel well looked after and I can never finish my meal, I always get whats left to take home without any fuss.

Had a great Indian meal here on recent visit.The starter were delicious.we had ch.curry with rice and nan simply was the best we have ever had !Excellent service.we completely satisfied.wow what a place for Indian curry.I would definitely recommend this place.

Been dining with family and friends at this "restaurant" for more than five years and never had a problem until tonight Friday 2nd Sept 2016.Staff has changed, food has changed (for the worse) and attitude towards customers has changed also for the worse.My chicken tikka jalfrezi smelled and tasted like makeway curry with a few spices added and had four small pieces of chicken in the MAIN meal?.My daughter could not finish her Korma and asked for it to take away, the awful member of staff then came to our table and THREW a metal takeaway tub on the table and said there you go?In my opinion there has been a major take over of staff and chefs resulting in a very poor service and sub standard food being served.I would challenge anyone who has been a frequent customer, and has recently had a meal here, to disagree with these observations?Personally, I will now look elsewhere for a decent curry and decent service.

We visited on Bank Holiday Monday and I wish we hadn't!We only ordered 2 main meals and after at least 30 mins we had to ask how long we would be waiting,the reply I got was we are busy with take away meals! Priority should be the restaraunt custumers who are paying a lot more for the meal.£30 for 2 mains and 1 soft drink and 1 half pint ! Never again

Came here on Thursday 25th August for an 8.30 sitting. I'd heard it was popular and had prebooked, however it was virtually full!, which is always a good sign. We were seated promptly and allowed time to choose our food, which is always good in an Indian restaurant with so much choice on the menu. I had the Tandoori lamb chop starter and my girlfriend had the Sarga Chicken,both were gorgeous and good portions for a starter, a selection of dips amd sauces were also brought out which again were delicious.For the mains I had the mixed grill with a variety of Tandoori, Kebab and Tikka, Lamb, Chicken and King Prawns. My girlfriend had the Goan Fish, both meals were lovely, really well cooked and the portions large, especially with the pilau rice and accompanying salad and sauces. All in all a very enjoyable experience and I will definitely be returning....making sure to book again of course

I ate here last night with my friends as we have been to this restaurant many times in the past...100%best restaurant Good food and great service. .For my starter I had mixed kebab...and main Lamb bhuna with rice. ..Great value. Friendly staff.Look Forward to many return visits.Fresh food,resonance priced...AMAZING! !!!

If you enjoy Indian food you will love Asiana.Have eaten here before and have always been happy and will definitely return.The staff offer great service making you very welcome.Food is excellent,good selection,plping hot and really good value.Relaxing atmosphere and complimentary drink and chocolate all make for an enjoyable evening.

Been to the Asiana many many times. Best Indian restaurant ever. The food is amazing. The staff are lovely. We are never rushed. Just a lovely feel to the place. Lovely little touches at the end of a fab meal.... baileys and brandy. I would defy anyone to find a better restaurant

Had a nice meal at this restaurant. Food was good, staff friendly and very obliging. The restaurant is much nicer inside than it looks from the outside. Don't let the external appearance put you off as the food was really nice!

We are regulars here and love it every time we come. The food is great and the staff are lovely, making our night enjoyable every time we come here. Really recommend the Lamb Dansak...love it!

I have had a lovely meal with my daughter in law tonight! The service was brilliant, the staff couldn't do enough to for us. The food was beautiful and I couldn't fault it!

Visited (again) for our son's 21st with the wider family. Little hectic as someone arrived with a child that wasn't expected but the restaurant adapted the seating. Two meals from 15 didn't arrive at the same time and the naans came later so they were a little stretched on the service. The chef actually brought out the naans! Overall for 15 people over a 3 hour period the whole meal only came to £279 which is excellent. We were all stuffed and we will be returning. Highly recommend. Excellent quality and taste.
