Smiddy Inn in North Lanarkshire

This establishment has changed my life. I was starting to question what the point was anymore, It’s safe to say I was at my lowest point. 1 venom and everything changed forever. Only negative thing I have to say is seeing a close friend of mine get “lightly decked” outside of the inn which has caused me mental trauma. P.S. do not wear green chinos to this establishment

Very good food and dog friendly. A menu of chicken, sausages ,beef patty or rump steak for your 4 legged friend.

My first visit to this pub. I don't live in the area but my wife and I met up with a large family group for dinner. It's such a friendly pub with the locals always willing to chat. The staff were super efficient and friendly. I had pleasure to talk to Eileen, the assistant manager, who led her team by example. Would love to have a pub like this where I live

I have deleted a review I put on 4 years ago as I might have been a bit hasty with my opinion I have since my original review been back in the Smiddy and I must say what a job The manager and her whole team are doing 👏 I am quite happy to say I was wrong and in future I won't be as quick to judge

Have moved to this area a few months ago and have been here a few times with friends. My husband and I have also been a few times. Staff very welcoming and food is great value. Staff are excellent. Sometimes have gone to other places where young people serve you without a smile or welcome. Can't say this about this place as everyone is so good at what they do. Will visit again.

Good selection of food, ample parking and good service

Here for dinner for my mum's birthday, food was great, vibe was warm and cosy, which helped because it was freezing outside. Shannan couldn't have been more accommodating, made sure we were well looked after, and everyone had a great time.

Had a lovely meal in here tonight. Great local pub, great atmosphere and lovely staff. Lasagne was amazing and my daughter loved her fish and chips

Fabulous Sunday lunch with the family and the pooch. Super dog friendly and even have a dog menu!! Wee pet station with water, bowls,treat and blankets. Lovely staff and really friendly. Aileen was a fabulous host and she is a credit to the restaurant. It was Halloween and she offered my son a Halloween party bag and it was full to bursting with treats- cookie, cupcake, sweets, party blower and loads more- he was over the moon😍. Me and the boy opted for a Sunday roast and the other half his usual steak and the pooch a chicken breast. The roasts were a plentiful portion with a juh of extra gravy much to the boys delight! The other half says the steak was done to perfection and the pooch didn't complete either - large chicken breast in a big dog bowl. We all had a lovely family meal.the restaurant was immaculate and a lovely environment to enjoy your lunch. The beer garden looks good for the summer months. The best thing about this place is the whole restaurant is dog friendly so loads of searing choices. We have been to other belhavens but no where near as good as this one , we will definitely be back. Highly recommended 👌 5 *****

Plenty off tvs to watch the sport, no matter where you sit in the bar or lounge , staff where helpful and friendly, good we Sunday session with good friends, would recommend and I will be back

Arrived at lunchtime with wife and dog, seated right away. Within 5 minutes, our server brought a bowl of water and some dog biscuits, which went down a treat. We ordered from the senior menu. £6.99 for 2 courses, £7.99 for 3. I had chicken strips with a BBQ dip & a wee salad, my wife had lentil soup with bread & butter. Both very nice, went down well. For the mains, I had fish & chips with mushy peas and tartare sauce, missus had Hunters chicken & chips. Again, lovely grub, no faults. The dog had a bowl of chicken for a pound, loved it. We had a couple of soft drinks and the total bill was under £19. Great value, very pleasant staff and good food. Needless to say, we'll be back.

The staff are just excellent in the smiddy, I have been coming to this pub since I was a little girl and its like a family environment everytime you come in. Aileen who works there is just brilliant, nothing is ever too much hassle and Graham who DJs on a Friday/ Saturday and Sunday for the quiz is always a breath of fresh air! The food is excellent but wish they'd bring the the burger sliders haha! 100/10 if you want to have a fun time and enjoy some good grub! Thanks for always making it a brilliant night for me and my friends and family xxx

Absolutely fantastic day at the smiddys t dance today, Lionel Richie and motown tribute act was the best iv ever heard, place was packed with everyone singing and dancing, total recommended it, if you can get tickets for the next one

Five of us had Seniors menu lunch and we all enjoyed. The young man who served us was helpful

I went for my birthday my family and the staff there was very good very polite it was a very nice place I highly recommend it and you can take your pets there my dog enjoyed it

From the second we walked in we were made to feel so welcome. Eileen the manager on duty is definitely perfect for this job….. Funny, caring , great personality, very funny but also very professional. First time visiting but we will definitely be back. The food was very fresh and tasty. You and your team are a credit to the company keep up the great work.. oh it was also spotless.

Don’t think I’ve ever had a bad meal from here, staff are always friendly, dogs are welcomed with a lovely wee station to make sure their visit is comfortable (dog blankets, treats, dog food) there is colouring in and crayons to keep kids occupied, great varied menu, decent prices and yummy food! A go to for us to have a family meal out.

First time in the Smiddy Inn and it won't be the last. The staff are friendly and helpful. The food and service was top notch. Like I said first time but definitely not the last. Back in tonight and the staff maybe different but the welcome and food is the same. Keep up the good work.

Terrible bar service. One person serving between two bars. Didn’t seem that busy yet it took us 15 minutes to get served. A regular told us that this is the norm.

Decent sports bar on an estate. Food was good.

We were in here for the very first time and it was really good, we didn't have a booking and it was mobbed, the staff could not have been nicer, took time to go through all the bookings to see if they could fit us in rather than just turn us away which can be a common theme to very late walk ins, our meals were lovely, the staff were continually coming round to ensure everything was ok, not just for us but to every other table, think also the fact that the place was heaving tells its own story, the next time we are in Cumbernauld we will defo be back in, great service, great attitudes, very welcoming and lovely meals👍🤞👍 keep up the great efforts

Brilliant menu, tried various starters between 2 of us 5 starters/small plates for £17.95. Really tasty, staff really nice and attentive, remembered what I took with my tea when first ordered and without asking brought another wee slice of 🍋 with my next tea, thank you so much Highly recommend a visit and once again I forgot pictures

Disappointed with the slow service and unhelpful staff ,we were a group of 10 and waited over an hour for typical pub food , after ordering on the app …… App needs updating … as unable to order coffee and mini desserts , that are on paper menu but weren’t available on the app… and when asking a staff member if they could take our dessert and coffees order, they refused point blank to come to the table , resulting in one of our party getting a pen /writing pad from bar staff to write the 10 coffee & dessert choices then returning back to the bar to order and pay !! Crazy and unacceptable system for a large number of customers .

Another amazing lunch at the smiddy. Steak pie is definitely the hubby's favourite though my sirloin today was just outstanding. The teamm are always friendly and Julia is always very welcoming. The most dog friendly place I've encountered. Will definitely be returning

Fantastic food, prices are also brilliant, through midweek 2 adult meals and 2 child’s meals £20!!! Top notch food. The place is decorated lovely with a nice relaxing ambience to the place, I could see the TVs everywhere even in booths for all the sports. Great place I will be back for sure.

A group of friends attended to have a lovely after watching rugby, having food and enjoying the company. I am so glad we booked a table as there wasn’t many left once we arrived. From when we arrived we were greeted by happy smiley staff and it made us feel we made the right choice. We were hoping for a great day , this was surpassed by a piper playing at the start of the rugby game. This pub is extremely dog friendly as there were a few around where our table was, and they were all well behaved.

Went for lunch today good pub grub service a bit slow staff very nice small fish was a pensioner fish someone with me had they have also got normal fish and chips lasagna was ok good value

Came to the smiddy the other day with family and it was lovely! Food was amazing as always and the service I received was 10/10! Couldn’t recommend the place more!!

Recently attended with my young son for their well planned out Halloween party kids version). My son had such a great time he asked when the next party would be. Nicely decorated and welcoming which always makes such a difference. The process of booking tickets was straight forward and the service was first class. It’s nice to receive great service with a smile. I will definitely be back but next time for cocktails. Thank you to Aileen(assistant manager) as it was her own personal social media account that encouraged me to have a look at the place & thank you to the rest of the team for making my sons morning awesome 😊

We have now visited the 'Smiddy Inn' several times over the last few months and it has fast become one of our favourite places to go. They are welcoming to everyone in particular our wee dog Emma - they have dog treats, blankets and water bowls. Emma even can order her dinner (chicken breast £1) - she loves it! The staff are so friendly and helpful, the menu great (steak pie a must) and a great overall atmosphere. Well done 'Smiddy Inn' - we'll be back very soon.

Best pub in Cumbernauld for the football has plenty of TV so always a seat with a veiw . Great deal on the small plates which is ideal if your just looking for some finger food to share with the boys whilst having a few beers

Great spot for day and night times

Took my mum out for lunch yesterday. The place was busy, but the team did let us know there would be a little time for our food to arrive. We could see how stressed the kitchen were through their service window and the amount of tickets they had up. The food was well worth the wait though, and the guys at the bar were so positive and helpful through it all, even though the place was really busy. Very nice and clean place to be.

Best bar lunch in the district 10/10. Excellent.
