Brilliant fish and chip shop. Quality produce. If you haven’t tried the fish and chips then you’re missing out. Only bad thing about this shop is that it isn’t open all day every day to give everyone an opportunity of trying it! Friendly and welcoming staff. The fish is beautiful.

This is the best fish and chip shop I know. The portions are always huge and delicious. The staff are always so polite and nothing is too much trouble.

You really cannot fault this excellent chip shop. The staff obviously work very hard to keep it in immaculately clean condition, and the food itself is both amazing and satisfying. The portions are huge and the chips are never greasy. I always like plaice and the fish here is the best I've had anywhere! The staff should be congratulated on such wonderful food and it is certainly a place I will keep visiting! Well done!

Good portions, but proper fish & chips are fried in beef dripping. We now know that saturated doesn’t cause heart disease. Please use beef dripping.

Arrived around 5 minutes from closing time waited patiently in the queue. Asked if they would still fry a fish for me, the owner laughed at me and said we're closing now! A simple polite sorry would have done! On my banned list for extremely poor customer service

Throw a dice in air. Either this fish and chips shop or the other in Alnwick and I have to say this one pips the post. Lovely crispy fish and dry chips served by very friendly staff. Worth a visit. Thanks for a lovely meal.

Called in here last night while visiting Buckingham and had the best chips I have had in ages. They were fresh and crispy really good potatos and not at all greasy. Served by lovely staff and the shop was beautifully clean. Highly recommend.

We live in Brackley and drive 7 miles for the best fish and chips , it’s proper fish with the skin on bottom and the when you order large you get large, a very range of food on offer As well , fish, pies, chicken, deep fried mars bar and lots more , It well worth a visit you will not be disappointed It’s the best

Smarts has to be one of the best chip shops around. Food is freshly cooked & portions are on the large side. Very clean place, friendly staff, cannot fault.

Popped into Smarts for 2 Fish & Chips, Pie & Chips and Jumbo sausage & Chips, the servings were ample, the service was fast, and the family all fed within 30 mins of being home - result !

Had lunch to takeout from here and ate it near the old gaol museum due to corona virus rules and had the largest fish we have seen in a long time. A very filling meal nicely cooked..

Love smarts! The portion sizes are excellent, the fish has always been perfect... its my new fav chippy by far... the only downside is it has ruined most other places for me now, as others can't match Smarts!

Stayed in Buckingham for a couple of nights and went in here without knowing what to expect but both the fish and the chips were fab. Lovely light batter and great chips all fresh and piping hot. Service was very quick and friendly and it was very good value.

Stayed nearby for a race weekend at Silverstone. Came here to buy dinner on the Sunday and glad we did. The fish and chips were excellent, very fresh, and a huge portion. Definitely great value for money. Staff were friendly in a well kept shop.

We had Fish & Chips from here twice in the last few weeks has down visiting family in hospital with not a lot of time for a meal. Both times the fish we had were excellent and really tasty. The portion, even with just one fish was massive and we ended up not eating all the chips.

Since Smarts reopened, it has been our favourite Fish and Chip shop. The guys behind the counter are friendly and the standard of the food is excellent. The portions are generous and the food is always piping hot!

Freshly cooked Fish and Chips are unbeatable and this is what you get in Smarts. However I do not 'get' the point of offering deep fried Mars Bars??

We love the chips and a friendly and happy service every time. My son begs for dinner from there and reasonable prices too.

We used to go all the way to Winslow from Buckingham for fish but since reopening the fish here is just as good. Decent sized cod really well cooked with a nice crisp batter. The chips and pies have always been good, the prices are very reasonable too and service is charming.

I was staying in the nearby White Hart hotel and yet arrived after the kitchen had closed. So I decided to have a walk out and find a take away. Came across Smarts and treated myself to sausage and chips with curry sauce. Delicious!

You can always get a massive bag of chips here for a reasonable price. The veggie burger is really nice too and the staff are really friendly.

Sometimes the food is ok but on other ocassions greasy to the point of being inedible. So it's hit and miss and too bad if it's one of their greasy nights.

Really enjoy good fish and chips occasionally and have used another take away for years but the quality deteriorated. Wasn't full of hope but tried Smarts and very pleasantly surprised. Clean looking premises, staff friendly and happy to chat about their origins in Madeira when, having visited the island, I commented on a poster. I agree with other positive reviewers about the generous portions of chips & large pieces of fish. One of us rates the battered sausage. A main point for us is the golden colour of the batter that indicates clean oil. Consistently well cooked food. Recommended. .

If you want fish and chips in Buckingham then you could do a lot worse than call in here. I eat from here about tevery three weeks and it's always good.

Good portions and a range of fish, not just cod or haddock but dogfish disguised as rock salmon. I'd looked at the other chippies in Buckingham but no queue of customers, waiting here confimred that everything was hot and fresh.

Fish and chips are not the cheap meal that they were. However, It is possible to buy one portion from Smart's and share between two.

When Smarts first opened it was the "go to" place for chips in and around Buckingham but over the years the quality has dropped to such a level that the shop should now be avoided. Whilst I admire the considerable skill required to make a chip taste stale and overcooked on the outside and yet still raw inside, I do feel that it is somewhat of an acquired taste - but over the last 3 visits it's a taste that I find unacceptable. Sorry guys but I wont be investing any more of my money in you so I'm out.

Always met with a smile from the owners, the fish is always freshly cooked and even a small cod or haddock is quite large plenty of crispy chips. Highly recommended

You always get a big smile and a big hello in here. Good range of all the normal fish and chip type food in here and the portions are a good size.

It wont poison you, its not the best and certainly far from the worst fish and chips, the service is fast, the food is hot, the staff smile

The portions make fish and chips good value.Unless you have huge appetite, a portion of chips will serve nearly 2 people, a large fish 1 adult 1 child

Always go to smarts. Very friendly staff. Food always fresh and hot. Good value for money. Only down side is trying to park near on a Friday evening.

At times they can be very busy and the wait can be long, generally the food is good and the prices are fair, not the best chippy in Buckingham but if in town you wont be let down or disappointed with the food.
