Great selection of beers, proper pub life at its best.

Comfortable and warm in here, Nice food and Nice selection of drinks. The service for the food was quick and came hot! No gender neutral toilets despite having inclusive Lgbtq flag in window— maybe we didn’t look hard enough? This was a bit misleading and meant we couldn’t spend as long here as we intended to, however we did enjoy the couple drinks we had. cozy atmosphere & interior

Came for a chill drink, stayed because the Korean fried chicken spiritually awakened me. I had a bite and suddenly remembered all my childhood dreams. Absolutely unreal. Only downside? The drinks are priced like they were imported via private jet and blessed by monks. Paid £6.20 for 3/4 of a pint. But honestly, I’d still go back just to make emotional eye contact with that chicken again.

Vegan katsu curry dirty fries exceeded all expectations; incredible.

A recommended pub for lunch or dinner, regardless of the traditional pub atmosphere. We ordered delicious fried chicken, very well done.

We picked up takeaway from Small bar on a Friday night! We got burgers, dirty chips and wings! Everything was excellent and tasted amazing. The dirty chips were definitely my favourite. Worth a visit for drinks, but definitely try some food as well.

I've only been during the day (i'm that age - evening gets too busy and people too drunk), but had a great time every time - wide range of drinks and great food. As said before 7/8pm its a great chilled atmosphere, imagine its a bit hectic after - but love the place

Small bar is a great venue. I've been here a few times now for food and it does not disappoint. Went for dirty fries with fried chicken and gravy and their signature chicken wings with Korean sauce, both dishes were amazing. Chicken wings were crispy. This place really knows how to cook chicken.

The Korean Chicken burger, wow, smothered and I say smothered in their signature Korean sauce. Pair this with the Korean BBQ chicken wings and you're in for a winner.

Bloody love it here. Phenomenal range of beers and the service is always great. I've never visited Bristol and not popped in as that would be absolutely criminal.

The beer, food and staff are lovely. It can get busy though, and sometimes the music can make it hard to have conversations (depending on your table).

Love Small Bar, it's been our bar of choice in the centre for years. Good beer, always a nice selection of sours and a couple of stouts or porters, which is what I look for. There is also a long list of pales and wheats. Good vibes, friendly atmosphere.

A great and changing beer selection accompanied by a good selection of food. they offer decent seating both indoors and outdoors. I have the Chicken Mayo burger, which tasted great and was the most succulent chicken burger I have had before.

Lovely staff, nice and chatty, brilliant good, diverse range of ales, oh and the music is bangin'! I've just come up for 24 hours from London and was surprised at the very cool vibe here, 90s hip-hop and pale ales, yes please! I had a Korean style Burger and it was very yummy and reasonably priced. Main courses and chips for 3 was about £42 or so, very reasonable! 💯 Recommend.

It was too crowded and serviced very slowly.

It's been one my favourite bar however they didn't let me finish my pint due to closing. When I asked for a plastic cup, they told me that they have none. The security guard waiting for the glass but I couldn't have what I paid for.

Small Bar has become our King Street go to when in Bristol. We jokingly call it medium bar as it isn't really that small - and it has a mightily impressive beer selection! Last time we had dinner here and my other half hasn't stopped thinking about the peanut chicken burger since. This time the food was mostly sold out (it was really late on a Friday by the time we got off our flight and into the city) but we were happy enough to start our trip with some pre-dinner beers. Small Bar is really cozy, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable and the beer is the icing on the cake. I think we came here every day of our trip and we'll definitely be back! I just wish we lived in Bristol so this could be our local!

Came here for food. I was impressed with their Malaysian burger - well seasoned with succulent chicken thigh cooked to perfection. The chicken breast however was disappointing - meat was bone dry and unappetising. I’d suggest to stick with chicken thigh which is something that they do well.

For a place that sells beer, the food was excellent. Staff are always friendly, happy to serve tasters and impart their knowledge on the drink selection.

Disappointing first visit after many fantastic nights in the old Small Bar Cardiff. 25ish taps, but lacking in diversity. Only 3 beers above 6.5%. The guy serving me seemed inconvenienced by basic questions and gave brief inaccurate replies. Could and should be so much better.

Vast selection, not all of them great, but when there are 20 ish on offer you know there'll be a number of naff ones. Lots of tables squeezed in, so while it might be a bit personal you know you will find somewhere to sit. One of the church pews backs up to a radiator so your back and butt get delightfully warm on a cold day. One of the bar staff couldn't care less and didn't want to be there, but the other two were friendly. None of them could answer my question regarding an intolerance, but it's an odd one so we can gloss over that.

The beer is excellent and the Wings Diner fried chicken is INCREDIBLE. Love love love both the beers and food here, the delicious food is the thing that keeps me coming back here over other bars with a great craft beer selection. The chicken dirty fries with Korean sauce is my food highlight and the portion is massive!

Went on a Monday, had the wings/rice combo..great local beer selection and the food was so good.

How is no one writing about the fact that they squeeze boxed wine in to an empty wine like bottle. IN FRONT OF YOU. generally asked if they made the wine and was met with hostility. That's wild to me. Glad to be leaving this 1star review. Your staff need a reality check. RUDE

They have a fantastic assortment of tap beer, it’s always changing, and they generally have an NA/AF beer on tap as well. The food is pretty good, too!

Usually good service, however last night the door staff were somewhat rude and we’ve also found out the bar does not have plastics. Double G&T’s are over priced for the area tbh, especially as the tonic is of a lower quality brand.

We've been eating and drinking Small Bar since its very early days, a firm favourite for lunch once a week. Quite possibly the best Korean fried chicken in the south west.

Been coming to Small Bar for years and always visit when in Bristol. There is always a great selection of different beers to suit all tastes and even when very busy on a Friday/Saturday night, it is generally possible to find somewhere to sit.

It's a real shame. This place was a favourite and was great value for good quality food. Unfortunately they have increased their prices way to high for me and friends. We will likely choose elsewhere from now on. Spent £18.20 for 2 pieces of Chicken and a 2/3rds verdant light bulb. Extortionate. 2 piece meal used to be £10, which was acceptable but this is a step to far. Such a shame.

Out in a Tuesday mid Sept. So not representative, but.. What a lovely pub. I went for the craft beer and wasn't disappointed. Not many stronger ones on. Had a Deya, so that's a great start. Plenty of room. Nice out door space. Knowledgeable staff. No idea on food. Pete Brown likes it so that's a good enough recommend

From the outside it looks like this place is falling down - but looks can be deceiving - it's probably one of the best spots for craft beer in Bristol. Friendly staff and great drinks off the beaten track - well worth a visit

The best bar on King Street by a distance. Always excellent beer choice with Wings Diner providing the best Fried Chicken in Town. Dirty Fries and/or 2 Pieces definitely best of the bunch.

Excellent craft beer bar with a wide variety of international options.

This was the first pub on a strip of good venues along a nice cobbled street. There was a vast selection of craft beers on offer either from the tap (most were offered as halves or schooners) and in the fridge. The bar staff were friendly and the place had a nice feel to it on a Friday night. Not too chaotic and pretty friendly so it was a good spot to have a beer. I had a coffee beer (can’t remember that name though!) which was also very good. Worth a visit if in the area. Don’t expect any household names on offer here, which is a good thing!

Korean Burger was sensational. Beers are great. Top location. If you love beer and chicken...go there.
