The food faced significant delays, leaving us three Autobots famished. The driver’s rudeness towards Optimus was unprecedented. In all our interplanetary travels, including Cybertron, we’ve never encountered such unprofessionalism. It feels like the restaurant staff are Decepticons. Please spare other Autobots from this experience. I, Optimus Prime, vouch for it, especially for the sake of my settled Bumblebee.

The team was unprofessional; my delivery was over an hour and a half late. Every call resulted in the same response - “it’s on the way,” with no way to track the order. The delivery person was rude when questioned about the delay, and unfortunately, the food did not meet expectations.

I placed an order at approximately 4 p.m. today, and regrettably, experienced a delay of approximately 1.5 hours in its delivery. Despite reaching out to the restaurant twice seeking updates, I was repeatedly informed that the order was en route. However, it was not delivered until after 6 p.m. Additionally, the delivery guy was rude and not polite at all.

We had ordered the food around 4pm but it arrived at 6pm. When we called the place, after an hour of placing the order, they said the food was heading our way and will be delivered in 15 mins and they said the same when we called them again after another half an hour. The customer care was evasive and unprofessional. The delivery man was rude and very unprofessional. The food was hot, but not worth the wait and price.

Was about 20 minutes late. Forgivable as food was still warm and it was our first time. The menu didn't include full list of ingredients when we have allergy sufferers in the family! And even though we left note of 'no nuts', the biryani showed up with cashews in it! We ordered 2 rice and naan but only received 1 of each even though we paid close to £70 in total for our order! We did manage to get this refunded however without too much effort. Food was pretty good although a bit overly spicy for dishes that were supposed to be mild.

Took the family for a curry. We were really looked after by the team and the curries were first class. Totally recommend.

Ordered a takeaway on the app. Money taken and nothing turned up, no one answering phone at Newington to explain what happened. Later find out from another branch that the app isn’t working, but it’s still taking people’s money. Hopeless.

One word,Authentic best Indian food I had outside India so far amazing staff good menu and price point . Worth the visit.

absolutely gem of a place to eat. wonderful staff. lunch and dinner sorted for three days in a row, such is the quality of the food. delicious and so fulfilling. catering is par excellence. highly recommend this place if you want to try authentic cuisine.

Looking for somewhere to grab a bite to eat post Queens Hall concert... not a lot open around about but glad, because Slumdog it was. Had starters and the street food... amazing! And so reasonably priced. Visiting fron Glasgow, but I will defo go back if through this way!

Superb wee place. Popped in after a concert in the Queen's Hall. Lovely food. Excellent service. Really took me back to India.

The worst service an lying ever. If I am not getting my food because you don't have a driver, tell me that so I can order elsewhere. Angry beyond belief.

I had the butter chicken and it was absolutely delicious, you have to try the honey chilli chips they’re amazing. The staff were lovely and couldn’t be more helpful and the prices were very fair, definitely recommend to anyone and we will be returning.

Ordered food on just eat and the order never turned up. Waited for 2 and half hour and no one showed up. Why take orders when you cannnot fulfill the delivery. Thank you for starving us . If you cannot deliver please call your customers or reject orders . Pathetic!! Will never order again from this place. Don’t even deserve a start lol..

Amazing and spicy Indian tasty food… Good ambience and staff…

Food was nice (though be careful if you choose extra spicy for the curries) haggis pakora particularly good. The initial service was poor, resulting in very late delivery, but the manager did contact me directly to apologise and compensate us.

This place gets an awful lot right. Food is great. Menu offers a lot of options. The staff are very friendly and enthusiastic. However the decor is at odds with all that. Very much feels like a nice Indian meal but in a takeaway. Get some tablecloths, cushions, close the door from traffic outside and it’ll be fab.

Great service, great food, amazing value. £45 for pappadam, naan, lamb karahi, chicken shashlik, Bombay aloo and 2 large beers. Great food, this was more than ample for 2 and probably could have fed 3 or even 4 with a rice added!

Really good food although I don’t know if this is really set up for a sit in restaurant or a takeaway with seats? Service was a bit hit and miss.

Fabulous find. Food is stunning at the prices and would grace any top end Indian restaurant so don't let the take away look and feel put you off. Staff couldn't be friendlier. Would definitely head here for Indian food if back in Edinburgh.

I had the British Raj jalfrezi with plain naan. It was pretty good. Nice sweet, peppery flavours. Portion size was good : the naan was big enough to have with the whole curry. I was decently full afterwards. I sat in , staff were friendly and there's a clean, modern vibe. Good variety on the menu. Looking forward to trying new dishes here.

Popped in for some hot & spicy food to take away so we had the chicked madras and the lamb bhuna with pilau rice and keema naan we also had the mixed pakora with dip and the chicken was tasty and perfect and the other was fantastic perfect starter for anyone The chicken madras was truly a spicy dish with succulent chicken and authentic in its taste too guaranteed to get your taste buds tingling The lamb bhuna so tender in each piece with the sauce bringing this popular curry to life and ours was spicy as we like it like that perfection in every mouthful Accompanied by the rice and keema naan with coriander this whole meal is Simply The Best Will be back and highly recommended 👌

I had chilli cheese naan with butter chicken. It's great, cause they can make the butter chicken to meet your preferred spicy level. I had a spicy butter chicken! Sooooooo sooooo good! The chicken chunks in the butter chicken are just soooo tender and moist. Barely dry at all. I'm just so so happy and grateful to be having my dinner here today. And the menu is endless. Sooo many options to choose from! Service is friendly and great. Guess I'm coming back soon, for more! Thank you guys!

Inedible. Totally inedible. First time trying, wanted a snack. Sit in, me the only one, Newington branch, the floor had been mopped with greasy water and was extremely slippery…. Ordered samosa chat. Came in a pudding bowl - could not see what I was eating, thin top layer of shredded lettuce, thin yogurt and what I am sure was regular brown sauce. If this is the so called home made slumdog sauce they need to have a word with themselves. I found a corner of a very thick pastry which was the samosa. Hard to pull out any more to have a look because the bowl was full, had a taste of both the pastry and the filling… awful, mild spiced mush of don’t know what inside and again, the samosa was the thickest stodgiest ever. Cost me a fiver and I walked out. Not even asked why. I’ve been eating Indian food for years, I’m vegetarian. The Indian takeaway in Newington that Slumdog took over was far, far better. Absolutely terrible food.

haven’t even eaten from here but really disappointed with the service. placed an uber eats order at 6:30, it is now ten to eight and we haven’t received our food. phoned once for an update and they didn’t provide one when requested through the app, phoned a second time when it hit the hour mark, and when our food hadnt arrived by the time they had given us, we phoned again and heard someone laughing. as someone who works hospitality too, i expect better from an establishment

I was there on last Saturday. Food was great. It was bit busy but there was a guy. I think his name is vamsi. He's miraculous. Friendly, fast, everywhere at once, polite to everyone, and kind. Definitely i will go there again and again.

Great food. Taste brilliant. I had the Lamb Bhuna. The Korma was thick and creamy. The Fish Pakora was melt in your mouth. Staff were also very friendly, we brought our own booze. The only drawback was the heating. It was freezing.

I had food in this brilliant restaurant/take away last Friday and Saturday. I ate lamb biriyani, egg fried rice, poori choly, butter naan, and a couple of more items. I was amazed at the quality and quantity of the food delivered. The staff are courteous, attentive and try to provide a unique flavour to the food. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience and also the food was at a cheaper price that allowed me to try different food. I also loved the interior decoration that had the sublime cafe/brown colour with the dashing orange. Thanks a bunch, I will visit you when I visit Edinburgh again, in a few months more. Cheers

Food over here is awesome, need to try atleast one's for the taste. Had a great time after and great taste. Try the Biryanis over here it's filled with the flavors. I'll definitely prefer this place to visit again and again
