Absolutely wonderful pub in the heart of Preston. Never been to the town before and was looking for a pre match before going to Deepdale. Plenty of staff around, quickly served , multiple T V screens, and nice decor. If I lived in Preston this would be my Local

Kiric was super welcoming from the moment we walked in. He was friendly, professional and nothing was a bother to him. He was AMAZING. I would go back to slug and lettuce if kiric would be our server.

We visited this establishment to celebrate Mother’s Day with the family, marking a particularly special occasion as it was my grandmother’s first outing for Mother’s Day following her chemotherapy treatment. Unfortunately, the experience fell below expectations. Upon arriving at the opening time (12:00 PM), we were promptly seated and provided with the menu. However, despite the restaurant being quiet at this hour, service was notably slow. When attempting to order drinks, we were left waiting for a considerable time. Some members of our party placed their orders via the app, while others ordered at the bar, where we were informed that no fish dishes were available. In addition to this, as this was a Mother’s Day booking, we did not receive a free drink for a motherly figure as advertised. When the food arrived, the starters were served simultaneously with the mains. The bao buns were excessively hard, the sharing menu lacked the advertised “bird cages” due to availability issues (which were not disclosed at the time of ordering), and the peas were served cold. Additionally, there was no mint available for mojitos, despite it being just after opening. Overall, the quality of the food was mediocre, comparable to that of Wetherspoon’s. While the cocktails were enjoyable, the customer service was severely lacking. No staff members approached our table to explain the ordering process, check on the quality of the food, or take additional drink orders.

Brilliant night of entertainment from our server Jack who went above and beyond to make our evening memorable. There was a huge group of us and he did everything he could to make sure we were all happy and taken care of. This man deserves a raise "WOO, WOO!!" Thanks to all the staff last night, much appreciated.

We were served by Jack, Anjali and Tom for our bottomless brunch....Food was fab and Jack was the life and soul...He was fab we will be back !!!!!

We attended the ‘Sabrina Carpenter themed’ bottomless brunch. As per the advertisement we were promised ‘non stop hits, fun props and a shot of tequila rose on arrival’. What we actually received was a far cry from that. We arrived just before 4pm and were seated. We waited 20 minutes before we were asked what we would like to drink. Within this time I had spoken to two members of staff to ask when we would be served, both promising someone would take our order right away. By the time we received our first drink we were nearly 30 minutes into our Brunch. A lady who I assume is the manager came over to take our order and claimed she ‘didn’t know we had even arrived and no-one bothered to tell her’ at no point did she apologise for this mistake. My friend asked politely when we would get our shot which was promised on arrival and the manager huffed and claimed she would give them to us halfway through the brunch when she knows everyone else has arrived at their tables. Next, our food order was taken and when it arrived it was average at best. Avocado and poached eggs on toast was ordered by one member of our group and what she was presented with was a small slice of bread (not even toasted) sliced avocado and one very small poached egg with a side of sweetcorn. By the time we were an hour and a half into the two hour brunch we had only received three drinks each. Eventually the manager came back over to take another drinks order and I explained we’d already had our order taken 20 minutes ago but hadn’t received them yet. The manager again huffed at me and said ‘well they’re busy at the bar’. She then took our order again and said she’d get the drinks to us. I spoke to the manager and explained how disappointed we were with the lack of service and lack of drinks we’d had in an hour and a half. The manager passed the blame onto her staff. One excuse we were given was the table numbers aren’t in order and it’s difficult when taking orders. Another was that she was busy ‘being moaned at’ by people who had made bookings. The manager was constantly giving excuses but not actually giving any apologies. She was rude, hostile, extremely unprofessional and unapproachable. The only time she tried to ‘rectify’ the issue was 20 minutes until the end of our brunch where she claimed she would try and ‘squeeze in another round of drinks’. Realistically this was the least she could do when we’d had nowhere near the amount of drinks you would expect during a two hour bottomless brunch and often sat waiting 20 minutes a time without a drink. The venue wasn’t even overly busy so using excuse that the staff couldn’t keep up is pitiful. If you can’t keep up with the demand of a bottomless brunch then I’m afraid you shouldn’t be hosting them. Another issue was that this was meant to be a themed brunch. Upon arrival we all had a plastic microphone each on our table. This is a far as props went. The advertisement of ‘fun props’ was a bit of a stretch. ‘Non stop hits’ were also non existent. Yes there was music quietly playing in the background. Could we hear it? No. Did I hear any Sabrina Carpenter hits? One. Not really the ‘Sabrina inspired’ brunch we had in mind. The atmosphere was flat, no one could hear any music to even sing along with their microphone prop if they wanted to, sky sports was playing on every tv and there was absolutely no encouragement to sing along and enjoy yourselves. From the managers attitude alone it felt like having fun was discouraged. Would not recommend

Came in over the weekend during what I believe was the busy period, ordered a couple of drinks and some food and I had a lovely time! The staff looked hard pressed with the volume of "brunches" they had but everyone was polite and happy which credit where credit is due there was a couple of groups of customers whose attitudes was less then decent Food was very very tasty, only wish the portions was slightly larger overall had a great time here Food = Great Drinks = Great Service = Great

Great place to go for drinks with friends. Cocktails are very nice and staff are friendly. Can't include a mocktail and cocktail in 2 for 1 deal which is something to bear in mind for people not drinking.

I can honestly say this was the worst bottomless brunch I’ve ever experienced. From the moment we arrived, things went wrong. We were seated at a table with a smashed glass on the floor directly beneath us, with the liquid from that glass all over the table, mixed with mayonnaise. It took me going up to two different staff members to get someone to clean it before we could even order. We waited 30 minutes before receiving our first drink, and I then had to approach the bar again to ask if we could order our food. I was told it couldn’t be done at the bar, so someone would be sent over. They arrived 10 minutes later and still didn’t take our next drink order, even though our drinks were empty. I tried to get the attention of two staff members, but was ignored, so I had to go up to the bar once again to request more drinks. This became a recurring theme throughout the brunch—up and down, constantly having to chase the staff, to the point where I might as well have just worked as a waitress myself. To make matters worse, we were denied the complimentary Tequila Rose shot that was advertised unless we paid for it. So much for complimentary. I ordered the pancakes, and they were incredibly disappointing—cold, with bitter chocolate on top. When our food finally arrived, the waiter didn’t bring any cutlery and ran off before I could ask for it. So, once again, I had to go up to the bar to ask for cutlery, and it took another 10 minutes for it to arrive. That was only after someone came over to ask how our food was, and I had to tell them we couldn’t eat it yet because we didn’t have the proper utensils! As our time slot came to an end, someone came over to rush us into paying, stating that he “wants to go and can’t leave until we pay.” I just paid without further hassle because by then, I was so fed up I didn’t want to cause any more disruption, but I was nottt happy. I will be looking into how to get a refund because this was an incredibly poor experience from start to finish. It’s such a shame, because I went to the Slug and Lettuce bottomless brunch in Manchester as part of a party of 20 people, and it was MUCH busier, yet the service was excellent, the food was great, and the drinks were flowing. So, there’s really no excuse for how poorly this experience went. I would not recommend the evening bottomless brunch to anyone.

Came for a 'sabrina carpenter' brunch. Ive never had such slow service at a brunch. 40 minutes for my first drink, which was brought over one at a time for a table of 9. 2 hours later we've had 4 drinks, unpleasant food. A shot brought over that we had to request even though it was included in the brunch. Maximum of 5 Sabrina carpenter songs played over the two hours, drinks tasted artificial and cheap. Brought over a plastic microphone as if that makes it Sabrina themed. 🙄 The only good part of the brunch was Amy who took our orders and apologised for how it has been. Wouldn't recommend here for a brunch at all. I have already sent a complaint through as well, because it is not worth the money we paid at all.

We came for a (and paid for) Sabrina Carpenter evening but received nothing of the sort. Drinks were slow, and we did not receive any of the props that were promised within the price. Disappointing service, I would not recommend.

Kirk was fantastic, really chatty with us and had great banter, kept us topped up with drinks, which another staff member Tom made for us & he was great too and really attentive, will definitely be back again if these two are serving us!!

Called in for a swift beer & something to eat. Overall the Slug is pleasant, well laid out & welcoming. Tried to order on the app (constant issues there) so ordered at the bar. Now apart from the two members of staff, a chap having a beer & another couple we were the only people there. I ordered Fish & Chips (no mushy peas though) so went for garden peas. Mrs P had the Chicken & Bacon on focaccia with Monterrey Jack cheese. My fish was severely over cooked to the point where it was dry, the peas (whilst tasty) were barely cooked. Mrs P's was warm at best meaning ½ through it was now tepid. Add to that the table (nos 17) was sticky to the touch & the menu had previous food drips/stains on it was not a good experience. I get the other reviews (we've used the S&L in Manchester on numerous occasions & it's always great on all levels but todays visit in Preston was not). Yes we could have raised this with the staff but quite frankly we couldn't be bothered. The staff were pleasant & welcoming but the food really let you down. Sorry guys but over cooked/luke warm food is not whats expected & you weren't even busy!. Won't be returning...sorry

Came for bottomless brunch for my sisters birthday. Had an amazing time and our server Tom was very hospitable and made us feel welcome including accommodating my disability needs.

A nicely decorated pub, with a great abience. A friendly, attentive manageress who served us. We ordered two main meals, which were presented well. We had a burger meal and fish and chips. The fries were fine but the fish was so dry and overcooled that it had the texture of meat. The burger patties were overcooked, with a small piece of cheese and a small, burnt piece of bacon. The food did not meet with the expectations from the description on the menu. Very disappointing.

Great place for lunch and a drink

I had a deeply troubling experience at your establishment that left me extremely disappointed. A staff member charged my mother £15 for a beer and then falsely claimed she had only given £10 instead of £20. Despite a £20 note clearly visible in the till, and witnessed by other colleagues, she insisted on recounting the money. Her behaviour was not only rude but also completely unprofessional. After returning my mother’s £10, I proceeded to the bar, where I overheard the staff member speaking disrespectfully about my mother, even though she was clearly at fault. When I confronted her, her response was insincere and dismissive. To make matters worse, the manager failed to offer any apology or take responsibility for the situation. This incident completely ruined my sister’s birthday, and I am appalled by the lack of care or accountability displayed by both the staff and management. It is clear that there is a serious lack of professionalism at Slug and Lettuce, and I have serious concerns about the integrity of the staff, if they are openly misleading and overcharging customers. I would strongly advise others to be cautious when visiting.

Slug and Lettuce in Preston pulled off a Christmas miracle, sorting us a table last minute despite the festive chaos. The staff were clearly under pressure from a packed house, but you’d never have guessed it—they kept things running smoothly with smiles to spare. The bao buns were spot on, the pint was cold and cheerful, and the atmosphere was brimming with holiday cheer. For a quick, stress-free bite during the Christmas rush, it doesn’t get much better than this.

Jessica was honestly was the best I have ever had with me traveling all over the world and working in hospitality she was one of the best waitresses I have ever had. Checked in on all her tables in a timely manner and made sure we were always attended to.
